@Smurfette: That is a great sleep!! I guess she knew she needed to be well rested today. And wow what a lot of milk.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Holy smokes!!! That's amazing!!! How much did you feed her during the day yesterday that she didn't need to eat overnight? So jealous!!! Xander slept half that - 6 hours 15 minutes!

@Smurfette: That's awesome! I'm actually up right now pumping too!
Kaitlyn slept for 14 hours and 10 min. STRAIGHT on Fri./Sat. night! I mean, it could be a total one-off fluke, but Thurs. was her first time going over 11 hours too. She was sleepy all day yesterday too, took a few good naps! We're chalking it up to a growth spurt, but who knows. I'm actually not ready for her to STTN 12 hours. I'll admit I had a good cry about it and woke up DH yesterday morning. I miss our MOTN feeding. I'm not ready for her to be growing up as fast as she is. DH had to remind me that there are always regressions and times of new skills (rolling in bed), that will require me to have plenty of MOTN wakings! Well, I'm not sure I WANT that, but it did make me try to just appreciate the sleep we're getting right now. Though, waking up to pump is harder to fall back asleep from than just nursing her.

@ALV91711: @Adira: crazy huh! And she was super fussy starting at 9 cause I think she was still a little tired. On the way to church and she just fell asleep. Luckily we have a 49 minute drive, family church, so she will hopefully nap the whole time. She ate the same amount yesterday.
@shopaholic: holy crap!! 14 hours. That is amazing!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Wow!!! That sleep stretch is amazing!! How many times during the day do you feed her?
Just put Xander down for his first nap of the day and received some more hysterical crying!! Luckily it didn't last very long, but I am NOT a fan of this new development!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I forget, how much does she normally eat? Is it every three hours?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: sorry you had more crying!
She eats every three hours, give or take. Sometimes she wants to eat after 2 1/2 or then yesterday she went a little over 3 hours.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Do you think you still fed her six times? Or do you think you only fed her five times? I'm wondering if Xander SHOULD be able to sleep longer and maybe isn't actually hungry when he wakes up at 5:00... maybe it's just habit?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: if you count her 1am feeding then she ate 6 times yesterday. Some nights she wants to eat at 1 and 5 and that is after eating 6 times during the day. She has to rhyme or reason!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Okay, so she still ate 6 times, so maybe I can't cut out Xander's 6th feeding. Although he probably SHOULD be able to sleep longer. Oh well.

We must be going through a sleep regression. The last two nights Isaac has woke up so much. One time after nursing he was asleep in bed and woke up not much longer, DH got him and it took almost an hour before he would go back to sleep. And again with the hysterical shrieking before bed and once in the early morning. I hope all this ends soon.

@Adira: OK, I had to check my baby app. Yesterday, she nursed 5 times. But I think normally, we average 6. It's just she slept so long yesterday morning.
So, my 14 hours was not repeated last night, but K woke up once ~ 8am to eat this morning, went back to sleep, and still sleeping and it's almost noon! BUT, we did go to a kiddie birthday party yesterday and she ended up napping really close to her bedtime, so we pushed back bedtime till 10 pm. She's a late-to-bed, late-to-rise, just like her daddy (who's also still in bed! lol!)

@shopaholic: wow, you are getting some good sleep stretches. I hope that you are getting good sleeps at night while she sleeps.
Another flight tomorrow as we head back to my moms. This will be our longest stretch away from DH as he will come to get us after labour day weekend. Then we will all be home together again.

@ALV91711: Yikes!!! Hope the sleep improves soon!!
@shopaholic: Wow, sleepy baby!!

You guys, I feel like Andy is a weird baby compared to your LOs! He nurses 10-12 times a day and sleeps in 4 or 5 hour stretches ...
pomelo / 5621 posts
@aprk: Isaac nurses about as much as Andy. Glad he isn't alone in eating so much.
bananas / 9973 posts
@ALV91711: I'm trying! I let myself have a glass of wine last night without having to worry about being too sleepy still when she wakes up. I still wake up though to pump to keep up my supply. I've been noticing my supply dropping as she is sleeping longer. She's always only fed on one boob at a time, and the last few days, we've had to do both boobs quite often because she's not full and punching at them for more milk.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@shopaholic: Hopefully with her nursing on both sides that will up your supply. It is nice to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

I'm already over the hysterics when putting Xander down for a nap or bed!! I miss my non-hysterical baby!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: I am sorry I wouldn't wish the regression on anyone. I hope it gets better soon for y'all. Have a safe flight tomorrow. I can't imagine been gone from DH for a month. I hope it goes fast for you!!
@shopaholic: I think you lucked out with a good sleeper!!
@aprk: @ALV91711: Have you tried going for longer stretches or feeding longer?
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Smurfette: he won't eat longer when I offer. I might just try to extend the time and see if he will then eat longer

R did so great today!! She was a champ through church and the baptism party. People came up to us after and said they hadn't seen a more perfect baby during a baptism before. Then she was great with everyone back at the house. I had to wear her to get her to nap but that was ok. Even after all that sleep last night she has been so sleepy today. She fought us a little tonight but she is passed out now. Fingers crossed she sleeps good tonight. Especially cause DH has to get up at 4 for his 6 flight so I am already going to be woken up in the middle of the night.
Here is a picture of R, only one I got on my phone. We started pictures in the afternoon right before she needed to eat. I lost track of time. So it isn't great but you can see her dress. 34 years earlier I was baptized in it.

@ALV91711: Fingers-crossed! I've been taking Fenugreek once a day too. And YES to the wine! Just bought a bottle for tonight!
@Adira: Aww! Sorry mama! It must be tough for you too, since Xander's been such an easy baby!
@Smurfette: Like DH said, I'm sure there will be plenty of Ebb & Flows of her sleep. Just going to try and enjoy it while I can! *knock on wood*
And wow! What a beautiful dress, still so nice and new looking! Such a special tradition too! Glad she was such a stellar baby for her baptism!

@shopaholic: Wow your lo is a champ and letting you get some good sleep!!
@Smurfette: she looks like a little angel!! fx for good night sleep!
@aprk: I have weird baby too mine pretty much eats about every 2 hours when he is up during the day. The longest stretch he does is about 6 hours at nighttime.
@Adira: Aww sorry maybe hez teething? My lo woke up a few times this weekend screaming in pain and pulling near his ear and cheeks. I checked his gums and they are hard bumps like teeth underneath. So my lo has not rolled yet he has been so close the past few days maybe he is just planning to go straight to sit-up instead!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@silver1: Isaac hasn't rolled again since he did the first time. I'm not looking forward to teething.
@Smurfette: She looks great. Glad to hear the day went well.
I realized this afternoon he hasn't been nursing as much in the evening the last couple nights and that is probably why his sleep has been so bad. I've been trying to offer more this evening but he won't have anything to do with it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: What a cute dress!!! I'm impressed that it's still in great condition after all this time!!! Glad everything went smoothly! I hope you all got some decent sleep last night!
@silver1: Hmm... would teething make him fussy just at nap/bed times? I looked at his gums and didn't notice anything, but I didn't actually try feeling them, so I'm not sure.
So I told Hubs that Xander has noodle legs and that we need to practice with him standing so he can start bearing weight on his legs (I'm a bad Mama, I didn't call the pediatrician), but Hubs has been practicing with him all weekend and he said the last time he did it, Xander could bear his weight for a good 5-10 seconds, so we're definitely making progress! I think we just need to keep practicing. We never really did this before with him, which is probably why he's got weak legs.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: She slept straight till 620 this morning. Well she did wake up around 1, fussed for a couple minutes but went back to sleep. She is congested yet again, thanks day care, so she coughed a couple times in the middle of the night but she went back to sleep every time. I think this morning she really just wanted to eat and go back to sleep.
That is great that he could do for a 5-10 seconds. I am sure before you know it, he will be like R and always want to be standing u! How did he sleep last night? More shrieking?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: That is good that he is startInh to put weight on his legs. I'm sure with more practice he will start to go longer.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@ALV91711: inconsistent. Some days he'll go for a 6+ hour stretch at the beginning if the night. Some days he's up every 3 (like last night).
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: that is a good stretch of sleep.
Isaac did better than the previous two nights, but still not very good. I'm hoping he starts to do better at nights since DH is back to work. The last couple nights when he has fussed after a feeding DH takes him.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@aprk: isn't it kind of frustrating when you know they can do longer stretches but don't?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I blame daycare for getting Hubs and me sick, but Xander seems to mostly just be a carrier, haha! Glad to hear R slept so well, besides the couple wake-ups!
He went down okay... hysterical crying for a couple minutes, followed by the silent treatment, haha. At least, that's what it felt like. He was totally quiet but was just staring out of the crib. He looked pissed. But he fell asleep soon after that, so who knows!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@ALV91711: yep. But I figure since he can sleep, he must need something. So I'm trying to just to with it. I am tired today though!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@aprk: Ya, not much you can do about it when they wake up, especially if they are hungry.
There is a thunder and lightning storm going on right now. I hope it passes before our flight.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: I am so over the rain! Been raining here like every day for weeks. Safe travels today!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I thought I had mastitis, so I spent the whole weekend nursing Xander every 2.5 hours and getting up in the middle of the night to pump. I would've thought my supply would be up today because of it, but it's down!!!! I pumped almost a whole ounce LESS than normal at my first session! WTF! I hate being sick!
