So I didn't have a lot of time to play with Xander last night, but I tried out the flying pose with him and he seemed normal - he was pretty straight and could move his arms and legs around and hold his head up. I didn't do it for very long though. I also briefly tried the falling test, and I think he's probably normal, but the test itself made me nervous, so... I pretty much only did it once and probably not fast enough. I still need to test him on his side, but I'm pretty sure he's normal there too. I still need to test him with sitting though - I haven't tried just holding him while he's sitting and seeing if he can reach for a toy and then sit back up. Assuming he's playful today, I'll try it!

@silver1: @ALV91711: Hope you both got some sleep!
@shopaholic: Go K! Glad that she did again so you could see. She looks so cute in her swimsuit. Did the diaper hold up? We are going to do swim lessons around Jan/Feb. Figure it will be a good thing for Saturday mornings when it is too cold to do anything outside. My friend recommended the place she took her son.
@Adira: The bad thing about rolling is @ALV91711: is right. You can't just leave them anymore. No more leaving her on the changing table while I grab her outfit out of the closet or leave her on the couch while I run to the bathroom. Glad Xander passed the tests you tried out.
I did a couple with R when we were sitting outside, at least I thought I remembered them right. She did great. DH and I are going to do them all on Saturday with her.
So I just made a lunch date with my good friend for Saturday sans baby. Then DH and I have a date night that night. I don't know what I am going to do with eating two meals without a baby in my lap! Although I am already thinking how much I will miss her Saturday afternoon but I think it will be good for DH and her to have some Daddy/Daughter time since he misses so much during the week.

@Smurfette: Glad to hear R did well on the tests you tried too!
Yay!!! That's so exciting you have a couple dates on Saturday! I love going out with friends! I always turn them down these days because I don't want to deal with more pumping, though if I can go in between when Xander eats, I will! And that's exciting about the date!! I hope you guys have fun!

I just realized this More Milk Plus stuff is only going to last me two weeks. Ugh.
@Smurfette: How much is in yours? You bought it off Amazon, right? How much did it cost?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I got it on amazon, 4ozs, for $24.66. What did you pay?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Bleck, too much! I paid $20 for 2oz!!! Guess I'll be ordering from Amazon for my next batch!

Reasons Mr. Fussy-pants has cried this morning:
He took the binky out of his own mouth (Very proudly pulled it out and held it up-- then realized he couldn't get it back in. Cue freak out.)
He couldn't get his toe in his mouth while the binky was still there. Sigh.
Something in his exersaucer annoyed him. The little elephant that you push and makes noise I assume. He was happily hitting it and then just fell apart.
I am so ready for this phase to be over. He FIGHTS sleep so bad too. He closes his eyes then a few seconds later you can see him force them open wide.

@Adira: Wow! That is a lot more. Crazy!
DH is so cute. He just im'd me to see if he could take R and meet a friend for lunch on Sat. I told him I didn't care what he did with her as long as she is fed, diaper changed and naps when I am at lunch. Of course I didn't tell him but I will be nervous. It will be the first time he takes her out, besides to Home Depot, when she slept the whole time.

@Smurfette: That's cute that he wants to take her out. Good Daddy.

@travellingbee: I am sorry yall are having a rough morning. I will say when Moms say something like this is when I am happy R doesn't like the pacifier. So hard when they are playing and just starting crying and you have no idea why.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Guess that's what I get for paying for convenience! I just didn't want to wait for it to be shipped!
Awww, that's so sweet that your husband wants to take R out!!! I totally would be nervous too, but I'm sure they'll be fine!!
@travellingbee: Oh my goodness, what a dramatic morning you've had!!! Xander totally plays with is pacifier too! Though he knows how to put it back into his mouth. Though he often ends up just throwing it across the room, the dummy. I hope he starts feeling better and back to normal soon! Fussy baby needs to turn back into happy baby!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Adira: He can get it into his mouth sometimes, but this morning he was putting it in sideways. And yes, he often throws it and then gets upset at that too. LOL He is indeed very dramatic this past week.

Oh, I put on 3-6 shorts from Carter's today and they fit her! A little big but they weren't falling off. Hoping that she is gaining weight and not that Carter's just runs small. She can still fit in the 0-3 shorts from there too.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: They run a little small but not too much. Gap runs big, I find. He can still wear 3-6 in some GAP and Janie and Jack. Gerber runs very small. Narrow.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yay!!! Hopefully R is chubbing out! Don't you have a weight check coming up?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: She wears 3-6 GAP dresses, only one is really too big. I haven't tried the pants yet. I need to see if the Gymboree and Crazy 8 bottoms will fit yet.
@Adira: We go on the 1st. Fingers crossed. I was going to weigh myself and then her but decided not too, cause it would just stress me out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I was actually thinking about doing the same with Xander, but I'm nervous he won't have gained much weight!!! He's tall, but skinny...
pomelo / 5621 posts
@travellingbee: hopefully he goes back to his happy self. Isaac fights sleep too, his eyes will be closing and he forces them open or even shakes his head to wake himself up.
@Smurfette: Saturday will be good. Hope you have lots of fun.
Well last night was the best in the last week. He nursed at 8 and was asleep at 9. He woke up to nurse at 12, 2:30, 4:30 and then 7am which is when he got up. And he didn't wake up in between times to nurse which he had been doing. Now we can go back to working on dropping a feeding or two at night.

@travellingbee: Hopefully this fussy phase will pass soon! "He couldn't get his toe in his mouth while the binky was still there" hahaha being a baby is so hard. Poor guy!
@Smurfette: I feel like Carters runs small - but maybe Liam is just getting chunky. I wish he could still fit into more 3-6 month things - mostly everything he's wearing is 6-9 and I just noticed one of his 6 month sleepers was looking mighty tight last night. DH gets mad at me when I say I wish I could just keep him little. That is so cute that your DH wants to take R out on a lunch date - dads can be so adorable!

What stroller is everyone using? Right now we are using the Snap n Go frame one but I was just thinking in a one and half DH could take her running. Seriously time is flying by!! He wants the Bob, just have to look for the best deal.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: We're still using the Snap N Go and haven't really thought about another one. Though I was thinking the other day that Xander + carseat = HEAVY and started wondering if I needed to start thinking about a convertible. Then I would need a new stroller since we wouldn't be able to use the Snap N Go anymore...
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I want to use the frame stroller till 6 months or so. Cause what do you do if she falls asleep in the car now I can just move the seat in the stroller and she stays asleep. But if I have to get her out of the seat, then she will wake up.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, sooooo true. And Xander often falls asleep in the car seat on the way home from daycare. I kind of want to use it as long as possible, but I just know he's getting heavy, haha.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Girls, my baby is going to be 5 months tomorrow. He's growing up so fast!!!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: That is so crazy! Where is the time going?
@Smurfette: Our car seat snaps into our stroller. so that is what we will be using next. I think I've got to get a new seat soon though as he is getting so heavy to carry in it, but then there is the whole having to take him out when he falls asleep. He almost always falls asleep in the car. But our carseat is only good to 22lbs, so I really won't be able to use it much longer.
So happy, Isaac took a 45 min nap by himself in his bed today! This hardly ever happens. So I had a nap by myself today!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: already??? They are growing up so fast.
@ALV91711: yay for a nap!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: @Smurfette: I know, right???
@ALV91711: Woohoo! Glad you were able to take a nap!!
persimmon / 1223 posts
@Smurfette: We are using the chicco keyfit caddy with our seat - I really want a BOB (in my head a imagine the three of us going for a jog around the lake often) It is just so hard to justify spending the money when I don't know if we would use it as much as planned.
@Adira: They are growing so fast!!! I want to use our infant seat as long as possible too - but I already think he's getting so heavy (or maybe I just need to get stronger)
@ALV91711:Yay for a nap (for both of you!)

Another milestone! (At least if he is a fussy boy, he is making progress!) L now raspberries for fun. He has done it several times accidentally but we just spent a half hour doing it back and forth to each other. So so so fun! Every day it is something new!
@Smurfette: We use a frame too but I also just bought a Combi umbrella stroller. Love it.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: what do you consider raspberries? My family calls it when you sort of blow on someone's belly and it makes a funny noise...
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: sticking tongue out and blowing.

hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: but my family also calls that raspberries. same noise but not on belly!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: Ok, that is sort of what we do on a belly. I do it to R and she just smiles and smiles. Now I know to look for her to do it.
So porky ate all 4 bottles again today. Good thing I froze milk from Monday, since it had to cover and tomorrow's bottles. I really don't want to add another pumping session, three is enough at work. I don't have time for more. At night I never get enough at night to do it after nursing her.
bananas / 9973 posts
@travellingbee: Sounds like a Wonder Week thing - fussy when they are learning new things? Sorry you had a rough morning.
Awesome on the raspberries thing! IDK if K does that yet? We do raspberries on her belly, and she always makes bubbles. But I don't think any "flatulent sounds" yet with the bubbles?
@Smurfette: Sounds like you have an awesome Saturday lined up! Let us know how DH does on his own? Mine has never taken her out of the house on his own yet!
As for clothes sizing, it's so ridiculous. Vanity sizing for babies? For example, today K wore a NB dress, which is still huge on her; 3-6 leggings; and a Carters 3mo pajamas.
We have the UppaBaby Vista stroller. Still using the car seat, but I think I've hear most people start using the actual seat ~5-6 months, which is coming up soon! I'm going to get the B.O.B. when she's ~ 6 months.
@Adira: Does the Mother's Milk make you smell funny? I'm sick of the Fenugreek smell.
@dojo: Seriously! I was thinking of just leaving the car seat in the car from now on. It's getting tough to move her in/out of the house!
So K has started rolling in her crib now. I tried putting her in there for a nap today and she ended up on her tummy. No crying, but no sleeping either. And one of her feet were between the slats. We're still having trouble finding a good nap routine, besides me wearing her. Praying tonight will be OK and no rolling in her sleep. Got to put on the mesh crib bumper!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: R rolls over right away. Pediatrician said if she rolls that way it is fine, still makes me nervous. R will have arms and legs through the slats too. I was going to have DH put up the mesh bumper this weekend since I keep forgetting till she is in bed. Nap training is so hard!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: What are you doing for nap training?
@shopaholic: I'm trying to get Isaac to nap without being held. We had one successful nap today in his bed, the first one didn't happen because I put him in his bed and the third he had to be held.
@travellingbee: Blowing raspberries in purpose would be so cute.
We were in bed at 9 for the night again, two nights in a row. Now I'm just hoping for less wakeups in the night and I'll be happy.

@Smurfette: I have the chico key fit car seat and stroller frame. It is upto 30 pounds. We mainly use it for weekend trips (we don't own car) and he sleeps well in car seat so we will just keep using it as long as we can. I will probably move to umbrella stroller when lo gets older. @travellingbee: Ooh lo was making those noises and I didn't know that was blowing raspberries. He is now moved on to making other noises when he talks back.
Ya the clothes sizing is crazy. J still fits in some of 3-6 months shirts but he is in 6 months onsies and sleepers. The carters 3-6 months are tight and most no longer fit.
So tonite was better with my lo he was a bit fussy but not as bad as yesterday. Yay for fri!!
@shopaholic: hope your lo sleeps well tonite. @Adira: can't believe how fast they are growing!! Mine will be 5 months in 2 weeks looking forward to new milestones though

@ALV91711: How long does Isaac nap for each time?
Ladies, I'm SO TIRED today! K's naps looked like this:
* Woke-up at 10 am.
* Fell asleep for 5 min, at 1:30, woke-up for 8 min., fell back asleep for 13 min.
* Around 3:30, napped for 23 min. in the car.
* Then I spent ~ 3 hours trying to get her to nap at home. Crying, screaming, inconsolable. I knew she was tired, but even trying to nurse her made it worse. Took at 22 min. nap (finally at 8:00) on the boob because I was finally able to nurse her lying down in bed.
What do you guys do for "nap cues?" If I shut the curtains or dim lights, she gets mad (except for at her bedtime). She HATES the dark it seems. The white noise doesn't work anytime but bedtime either. She just gets furious. Like even when I had to change her diaper today, and I took her in her room (white noise was on and the curtains were closed) and she was so angry and upset! She got better as soon as we went back out to the living room with the lights on. The swing pissed her off today and even though she was strapped in, she was trying to roll and arch her back so much and crying, I couldn't let her stay in it. The bouncy chair is officially retired after she can wiggle her entire body off the ledge and managed to loosen one of the screws till it came off yesterday! It's just so frustrating trying to get her to nap when it takes so long and she seems to have a 20 minute timer. I KNOW I need to get her to be able to nap in her crib and I think a schedule will be good, but honestly, I'm at a total loss. She seems to get pissed at all my attempts at home to get her to sleep. And it ends up taking so long, I can't seem to follow any schedule.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@shopaholic: He will nap anywhere from 30 min to 1.5 hours. He naps longest when he is held. When he naps in his bed it is on the shorter side.
