@ALV91711: That's good you can usually fall right back to sleep!!! That was definitely the hardest part of the MOTN wake-ups for me! And that's awesome that he's starting to give you longer stretches of sleep!!! Hopefully it continues!!!

She ate early again, so all 4 bottles. I only pumped 15ozs. I think I am going to start sending one bottle of formula so I don't use all my freezer stash.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh bummer! Do you think she might be going through a growth spurt?
So Hubs and I got into a HUGE argument about how much Xander eats and we ended up yelling at each other in front of Xander, causing him to start crying. I felt so bad. But as soon as I held him, he calmed down - he loves his Mama!
But anyway, after arguing for like 30 minutes, I finally went to feed Xander and Hubs FINALLY did some on-line research. He still thinks Xander could eat more, but agrees that he's not hungry, doesn't actually NEED more, and is healthy, and will HOPEFULLY not bug me about it again! Success!!!
Also, Xander took great naps at daycare today, the little traitor! Although maybe he just didn't want to sleep at home because he didn't want to spend time away from me!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I don't think it is a growth spurt cause it has been going on for a couple weeks. She ate at 4 this morning and I nursed her again at 630 but she didn't eat very much. Then ate at 8:30,, 11:15, 2:15, and 4:30. I did ask them if she is due for a bottle at 5/5:30 to feed her early cause otherwise I get home nurse her and then not even an hour later have to do it again before bed. But she ate every drop so she must have been hungry.
I don't want to use all my stash so I figure one bottle a day when I can't pump enough is ok.
I am sorry you had a fight and in front of Xander. We raised our voices at each other a couple weeks ago in front of R. Glad that you could calm him down. Glad that he finally saw your way!!! Hopefully now everyone will leave you alone about sending more milk or feeding him more.
R didn't have good naps today but she was so fun tonight. I didn't want to put her to bed. But she went to bed no crying.

My baby's growing up! Here he is, sitting unassisted for all of 2 seconds before toppling over! Just long enough to snap a pic!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: yay!!!
I told day care R did it over the weekend and she was like she has been doing that for a couple weeks:( I said don't tell me. I don't want to know when she does things first here. I hate that I am missing so much.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Awww, that was kind of mean of your daycare! I told mine that Xander rolled over for the first time over the weekend, and I have nooooooo idea if he's done it for them or not because they didn't say! They were just like "That's awesome!" and then talked about how he was trying to the other day, but just kept getting to his side and rolling back to his back. So they certainly made it sound like he'd never done it for them before, but I kind of bet he has. Your daycare should know better than to spoil firsts for moms like that! It's hard enough being away from our babies all day, but then to hear they are doing stuff for others before they do them for us is heartbreaking.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I know I said I don't want to know that and she was like why. I said I don't want to know how much I am missing. I want to think I am seeing it first. She said that she gets it since she is a Mom.
Got R changed this morning, nursed, and then I heard her poop. Waited a couple minutes to make sure she was done, changed her and just finished snapping her romper and she pooped again!! 2nd day in a row I was late to work cause of poop.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: If she gets it, why did she tell you that in the first place???? I thought all daycares knew to not tell moms that kind of stuff!!! So aggravating. Hopefully they don't spoil any other "firsts" for you!
I swear, R loves to poop first thing in the morning for you! She's like "Nooooo Mommy, don't leave me! I know, I'll take a dump so she has to spend a few extra minutes with me!" Babies are silly.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: hahahaha - she just loves you and wants to spend more time with you!

Gahhhhh!!!! My underproducing boob produced even less than normal!!!! I'm freaking out that my supply might be tanking!!!! *cries* I'm going to book another session today to hopefully get some more out. I'm so worried my supply is going down the tube. I can't believe how little I got out just now!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: awwww!!!! He's growing up so fast!
Gah! I woke up at 4 to pump my painful engorged boob and haven't been able to fall back asleep. Less than 4 hrs of sleep.
K officially rolls onto her belly in her sleep now! First time I heard her fuss so I went and flipped her back. The second time I let her fuss and she found a comfy position I guess and still sleeping! Thank god for the Angel Care monitor though, or I'd be in there flipping her and being paranoid!
K has been playing in her exersaucer my cousin gave us. A week ago, she still wasn't stable and dangling in the thing. Now she can put some weight on her feet touching the pillow I put under it. And she can reach and play with the toys!!
@Smurfette: I know you asked me about the jumperoo. It was a Fisher price one I got at Target? But I haven't had time to assemble it and my BFF told me to try her doorway jumper first to save the $. She's going to give it to us tonight. We'll see how it goes. But we only have one place to hang it, by the fridge and dishwasher... Kind of awkward.
I've started the process of getting things to have ready for 6 month feeding. K is 5 months today! I'll have to share a pic when she's up for the day. I can't believe how fast time has flown!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: R sleeps on her belly. This morning I woke up, and looked at the monitor and she was face down with her face resting on her hands. I could see that she wasn't flat against the mattress but still freaks me out. I was glad when I got out of the shower she moved. R is on her tip toes in the exersaucer but oh my gosh, does she love it. I had her in her Bumbo type seat last night, and was thinking wow, what a difference a month makes. She was playing with all the toys on the tray around it and a month ago, wanted nothing to do with them.
What are you getting for solids? I need to start figuring that out. Cause I know the next month is going to fly by.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I am sorry! I was talking to the teacher this morning about how I can't pump 20ozs and another parent dropping off said that she read most see a drop between 4-6months. I haven't heard that before, so not sure if it is true. Working + pumping is so hard.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@shopaholic: Yeah L now sleeps on his belly and it freaked me out at first (we don't have an angel care) but now I am used to it. He also insists on sleeping face down!
@Adira: Yay! So cute!
L has rebelled and no longer sleeps at night. Grr... But he is 2 hours into a lovely nap. I am just too sick with this cold to do much about it. I don't have the energy to deal with it. DH has been trying to take a lot of the night time stuff but my sleep is still interrupted. We have to get him off this pacifier!!!!
A small win is that L can now easily roll off of his belly. Funny thing is that since he mastered that, it's like he forgot he can roll from his back, which he's been doing constantly for over a month! Crazy kid.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Yes, I have to admit I keep staring at the monitor to make sure she has her head turned to her side.
oh my gosh YES, what a difference the past month has made! I feel like they've really turned into playful babies now, vs. just little precious infants!
Yesterday I went to a mommy meet-up and 3 of the moms had the Inglesina table high chair. It was so nice, it folded flat. Unlike other seats I've seen. I tried K out in one of them, and even though she can't sit up long unassisted, I think she'll be there soon and will like just sitting at the table. She's always so curious and wants to see everything! I'm ordering one today so I can hopefully eat a meal with two hands! I think I'll probably use a rolled up towel or the little pillow from our activity mat to help keep her up for awhile. But it's a lot more snug (and cleaner) than the restaurant high chairs!
I'm also ordering feeding spoons, food containers, and looking to buy a high chair. I've already purchased a mesh teether feeder (Sassy), apron/bib with sleeves, and we were gifted a whole set of Baby Bullet and accessories. Just getting prepared!
@travellingbee: Face down still worries me! lol! Yay for rolling back ability! Sorry you're still sick and L isn't sleeping well. Maybe the regression? Are you planning to do any type of sleep training?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Please let me know how you like that high chair. I just googled it and I want to get one for restaurants. We always have to hold R cause she can't see as much in the car seat. But the restaurant ones look so big that it wouldn't support her. That would be small enough to keep in the car.
Are you making your own purees?
@travellingbee: I am sorry you have a little rebel on your hands. I was hoping he turned a corner for yall after the weekend. I hope you feel better soon!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Awww, babies sleeping on their bellies are so cute, although I would be so nervous if Xander was doing it, haha!
I really need to try out the exersaucer my SIL gave us. It sounds like all the babies really like them!!
@Smurfette: Really!!! I hope that's not true. I can barely keep up with Xander as it is - if I have a drop in my supply, I'm doomed!!! Ugh.
@travellingbee: Yay for rolling!!! Xander has yet to master rolling in any direction, but oh well. We're practicing on sitting up now instead, haha.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Yes, it's a little more snug looking than the restaurant high chairs and the plastic ones with just a nylon strap. She was able to sit up for a few seconds, but I think if I propped her up closer with a towel or blanket behind her, she would kind of prop up against the table? I'm sure they'll be sitting more upright soon enough. And yes, it's because I always have to hold her while I'm eating. She's always trying to pull up and against the straps in her car seat because she wants to see everything. As long as I'm holding her, sitting upright, she's happy to just watch and be part of the action. I ordered it already, so I'll let you know and post a picture when I get it!
I hope to make most of my own purees. I mean, I'm SAHM and don't work, so I guess there is no excuse for me NOT to. But my working mama friends love the Plum Organics pouches (I saw you were asking on another thread.)
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: a few pics of K in the exersaucer. lol. She is still kind of short for it. She always drops one arm inside and I have to help her bring it back out to reach the toys.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: OMG, so cute!!!!
Bleh, so I just had my inserted pumping session and righty only produced 1.5 oz, bringing the total up to 3.5, which is usually what I get at 11:00 a.m.! I'm so freaked out - I'm never going to be able to get my 15 oz for the day!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Phew! So I think my inserted pumping session DID help me! I was able to produce 2 oz on crappy boob this time and that was only after 2 hours, so I ended up pumping exactly the amount I needed for the day! Phew!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I think I'll still try to pump tonight maybe after Xander goes to bed to tell my boobs "MAKE MORE MILK!" Not sure if it will work though, haha.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I think they pretty much try to ignore me completely and just make the same amount no matter what I do.

@Adira: He is so cute and sitting up yay!! Mine does not sleep on belly either Im guessing boys are a bit late on milestones?
@shopaholic: Adorable!!
@Smurfette: @Adira: Im pumping less milk too I have heard about 4-6 month change and ugh that sucks. I keep encouraging talk to my boobs and I swear I can hear the pumps talk sometimes!!
@travellingbee: Hope you are feeling better and getting some sleep.

@Adira: What a cutie! I can't believe these babies are getting big enough to be sitting!
@shopaholic: She is so adorable!
@travellingbee: I hope your sleep is better tonight. Yay for rolling!!
@Smurfette: I think belly sleeping would kind of freak me out.
So Isaac rolled belly to back once almost a month ago now. He has not rolled again, crazy baby! He has figured out how to turn directions on his belly now though.
He has now tried oatmeal cereal and seams to like it. I was planning on doing BLW, but I also wasn't expecting him to start eating yet. I think I'm going to try a few purees for the next month and when he gets closer to 6 months do some BLW.
apricot / 338 posts
@ALV91711: J rolled a week ago from back to belly and after that no dice. Do you give cereal in bottle? Does it help sttn? J still wakes up once or twice at night for feeding and I can't wait for us to get some longer stretches of sleep.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@silver1: I feed it to him with a spoon. I mix the cereal with pumped milk. He still isn't really taking a bottle. Now that it has been over a week he is starting to do longer stretches, but that fell apart last night. He wakes up anywhere from 2-5 times.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: it has been weeks since R rolled belly to back. She did it once and hasn't done it again.
Urgh!!!! She woke up at 130 again. Then fussing turned into crying. So frustrating she can go longer then this. I feel like it should be getting better not worse.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: That is no good. Is that the only tIke she's been waking up? I wish all these babies would improve their sleep.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: Yeah I know I shouldn't complain about one wake up. She can go all night without eating so I wish I knew what it was. She's been getting up between 4-5 but now it is more like 1-3.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
OMG, I'm going to cry! I've been pumping for 10 minutes and have literally gotten nothing out!!!! I know Xander ate more than normal this morning, but how is it possible to get NOTHING????
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Did you try the other pump? I am sorry that has to be so frustrating.
Someone had another massive poop this morning, resulting in an outfit change before we even left the house for the day. I got to DC and was putting her bottles in the fridge and I noticed milk all in the bag. I guess the top was tight and some leaked out in transport. Luckily I was able to pour back in the bottle from the bag. But now two bottles have a little less then 5oz. Hopefully she won't notice it.
The teacher did say that yesterday she was still sucking on her bottles after finished like she wanted more. And was a little fussy after finished. She said other kids in the class do drink 6 oz bottles, so I might send one tomorrow and see how she does with it.
apricot / 338 posts
@Adira: Sorry that must be so frustrating. Did you feel your breasts full at all? I usually start by squeezing some drops out before pumping and that kinda of helps with letdown. @Smurfette: Hope your LO gets full with the bottles. During the day J seems to eat a lot more I fill up about 16 oz and its all gone plus some formula but its my mom so its a battle I'm choosing not to fight.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
I'm getting nervous about how much milk to send now! When he takes a bottle from me, he barely finished 4 ounces. Often there is some left. But he doesn't do bottles very often. Every few days... Maybe we should do some once a day until he goes ( next Thursday ) to see how he does.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I thought about trying the other pump, but I was rushed for time, and my new flanges haven't arrived yet. Hopefully they arrive today though and I can try it out tonight!!!
OMG, R is a riot! She just loves to poop first thing for you!!! Maybe you should just pretend you're heading to daycare but not dress her, so when she does her massive poop, you can then just wipe her down and put on an outfit!
I'm sure she'll be fine with the less than 5oz bottles! I bet she's drinking them too fast anyway and that's why she's drinking so much! 20oz in a day seems like a LOT! I'm going to be really curious to see what her weight gain is when you go to your 6 month appointment, since she's been eating so much lately!!!
@silver1: They didn't fell full, but usually even after I nurse Xander and I feel like they are completely empty, I'm able to get 0.5-1 oz out, so it was weird! And then when I gave up, I was able to hand express some, so they definitely weren't EMPTY. But that's a good idea about trying to do some hand expression beforehand to get things started. I'll have to give that a try!
@travellingbee: Is he starting daycare soon? Before Xander started, I spent the weekend before doing a bottle trial run! Hubs fed him bottles all day (on a 3-hour schedule since that's what our daycare primarily does) and I pumped. We found he never drank more than 4.5 oz, so we send 5 oz bottles to daycare. Could you do something like that?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Seriously! She is turning into a little porker!! She is finishing her bottles in like 5 mins too. I guess she is still making up for not really in June.
I will say that since she pooped over her cute shorts, I grabbed the jeans that I bought to match too and they fit. So she must be gaining weight still.
20oz is a lot. This morning at 6 was the first time in a while I felt like she was really eating good in the morning. I think usually she just doesn't have an appetite first thing when I wake her up. So yesterday she ate 7 times, is that too much? I really wish she would drop the middle of the night one. Cause I want sleep and I don't think that she is even drinking that much.
