@travellingbee: 5 oz bottles definitely sound like they would work! Maybe send an extra bottle or a couple of extra ounces just in case he gets hungry earlier than expected.
And OMG, that sleep stretch sounds AMAZING!!!! How many times did YOU wake up during that only to find he was still sleeping???
Did you find out his growth at the pediatrician's office? Were they concerned at all? I know Xander's growth has seemed pretty slow - between 2 and 4 months, he only gained 1.5 lbs, but my pediatrician wasn't concerned, so I try not to be. Not sure about the height growth though. How old is Lukas? I do know they slow down in how much they grow at some point, but not sure what that point is. Definitely all his activity could be why he's not packing on the pounds!

@Smurfette: What time is her last feed during the day usually? Have you tried a dream feed at all lately? Maybe that would work? I have no idea though! And that's funny about her thunder thighs!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: Glad that he took the bottles great. I would do 5 ozs just to be safe. So glad that he is sleeping better for you. Did you take away the pacifier? Hope your neck feels better. I think that is ok for weight gain. BF babies weight slows down when they are sleeping better. I wouldn't worry about it. When do you go to the pediatrician again? 6 months?
I guess R just isn't super hungry first thing in the morning. Yesterday, she finished nursing at 420 and didn't want her bottle till 830 at day care. She will break her Mommy's heart if she isn't a breakfast person. I love breakfast!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: She usually has the 4th bottle around 400-430. If she is due at 5 or 530, day care gives it to her early cause they know we have a commute and if traffic is bad, can take an hour. And they know I nurse at 630 since she goes to bed at 7.
I haven't tried a dream feed. I am scared to wake her up!
She has rolls on her thighs. Only time they are too cute!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Maybe try a dream feed this weekend and see if it works? Maybe then she'll sleep until 5:00 for you! And if it doesn't work, at least it's the weekend and you won't have to work in the morning!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Good point. I just worry would she then be used to the dream feed. I know she can do 7-7 without eating.....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: That's true. Hmmm... I'm not sure in that case! When she was sleeping through the night before, was she eating more during the day?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I don't think so but it has been almost a month, so I forgot what it was like!!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Adira: Ha. I woke a couple times, only briefly. Still feel like I got a full night of sleep. I just weighed him on our baby scale. And measured him on paper like they do at the office. I may not be doing that right but it seems like what they do. He is 5 months tomorrow. He is still a good weight (17lbs, 4 oz) but just worry about that his growth has slowed SO much. I guess I won't worry about it until next appointment- 6 months. He is still growing, just slowly.

We are back from vacation and A has his 4 month appointment today. We are so behind!! I'm excited to see how much he weighs. Not so excited for the cranky baby, post-shots.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: hahaha - well, I thought she was eating six times still, just during the day, instead of one of them being in the middle of the night. But she was also not having 6 oz bottles, so maybe now that she's getting more in during the day, she'll be able to drop that MOTN feed!
@travellingbee: Well, I do know their weight growth slows. Xander's has slowed quite a bit and my pediatrician wasn't concerned. I'm sure you're fine! But I guess you'll have to wait and see what your ped says at his next appointment!
@aprk: Ohhh, good luck at the appointment! I can't wait for an update on his stats!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Well the more I think about it, I wonder if the 6oz bottles helped her go till 330 last night. Then once this ear infection is over we could go longer. We will see how this week goes.
@aprk: Our 4 month shots weren't as bad as 2 at all. Day care said that she wasn't fussy just could tell her legs were sore. I did give her Tylenol when I dropped her off to fight off the fever before it started.

Eeks! It's so scary jumping back in here after missing several days! I'll try hitting what I can remember from reading back!
@Mrs. Blue: Rough with the stomach virus, but yay for getting your first trip done and over with! The boys stats seem really good to me! And yay for the standing! Kaitlyn has been standing and holding my fingers. I've even been able to get her to stand with just her back to my chest (on a table) but no pics. However, with this development, she has almost no tolerance for sitting when she's alert. I've been trying to get her to sit unassisted more and more, but she just wants to stand. BTW, I don't think I have you on my IG? What's your un?
@Smurfette: Ouch. Sounds like R is still being really unpredictable all around. but she's always so cute for it! Yay to the consignment sale find and don't worry - I've already been thinking of Christmas (and 1st Birthday) presents for her already! I want to get her either and Anywhere Chair from PBK or the same kind of chair from Land of Nod. We were handed down a wooden play kitchen (the stove part), so I'm hoping to find a fridge w/storage piece to round it out for her 1st birthday and maybe a tea party table and chairs. I just think that'd be so cute!
@travellingbee: We don't have stranger anxiety yet. And I'm really scared of it happening before we go to a family wedding for Labor Day weekend! EVERYONE will want to hold her, and I will be really sad if my happy, social butterfly suddenly freaks out in front of all our family! I have noticed that she is always searching the room and looking for me though. She has cried a couple of times I think because she couldn't see me as I was doing stuff around the house. Or, I just didn't see what happened to make her cry? IDK.
@Adira: Xander looks SO adorable in his exersaucer! We ended up setting up the big jumperoo and taking off the small doorway one my riend lent us. It seemed too dangerous that she could hit her hands on the sides. She LOOOVES her jumperoo! She's been babbling away to herself the whole time I've been writing this post in the jumperoo. She's not actually jumping yet, but kind of bobs around and loves playing with all the activities.
@dojo: Yay for your crib transition!!! When did you start putting Liam in the high chair? I love the zigzag print btw! Does he sit up well on his own, or do you need the straps to hold him upright? I just received our travel high chair and going to try it out this week!
@ALV91711: Yay for rolling tummy to back! K's only done it twice, and I can't wait for her to be able to do it in her crib if she gets upset about being on her tummy!
@mole: Good job on the sitting up! I hope his cold is better! Did you have to try the NoseFrida yet?
Here's a pic of K standing holding my fingers.
As for sleep and rolling, she rolled onto her tummy and I let her fuss a few minutes this morning and she actually slept that way for over an hour! Progress!
Also, last Saturday, DH and I went out for our first date night/night out since baby! It was an anniversary/DH's birthday night out! He even commented how long it had been since i sat up in the front of the car with him and how nicve it was. We put K to sleep at DH's parent's house - first time she slept in the travel crib finally! She was SO curious, she didn't fall asleep while nursing, but I just put her in the crib anyway and she fell asleep on her own! AMAZE_BALLS let me tell you! She was such a god girl, slept in her grandparents room until 8 am and they brought her to me to feed. DH is happy now that might mean we can get a few nights out if the grandparents can babysit for part of the night! I'm not entirely ready to leave her for a whole night yet. Had a couple of shots yesterday and her latest stats are (almost 24 weeks) 14lbs on the dot and 26" on the dot!

@shopaholic: We are going to the anywhere chair for the 1st birthday too. I know I am going to ask the grandparents to buy some outside toys for her birthday too. We will probably wait for a table and chair but I can't wait to get one and take pictures of DH and her playing tea party
She is so cute! Amazing how much they love something so simple as standing.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Awww, that's so cute that she likes standing so much! Our babies need to start sharing skills because Xander's all for learning how to sit, but is TERRIBLE with the standing! And we don't have a jumperoo - we just have the exersaucer. Do you think it would be worth it to have both? And that's awesome you and DH were able to get out and K slept just great in the travel crib!! Yay!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: OMG, she's so cute!!!! Gahhh, Xander needs to learn how to stand! I feel like he's so behind on this one!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Thank you. It's crazy how much they have developed since month 4 started!!!
@Adira: Thank you! I hear when they work on one skill, it's like all they can concentrate on. So probably just will do one or the other. I would not have bought both unless they were really good deals. But we were handed down the exersaucer and I knew K would love the jumperoo. But since I'm a SAHM, I think it's useful for me to have some kind of "baby-holder" for every part of the house just so I can get some work done!
bananas / 9973 posts
OMG... I put K on her tummy to type and she's managed to turn herself 45 degrees!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: @shopaholic: I put R in a our jumperoo on Saturday for a couple minutes. We got it from a friend and she couldn't jump cause it wasn't at the right height. She seemed to like it. I am going to wait to adjust it and have her in it again once DH is home and see if she actually jumps. I try and save things like that if I can since he misses so much during the week. Excited this week, he is coming home tomorrow night.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Okay, thanks for the info! I probably won't get a jumperoo unless I find out that he LOVES the one at daycare. We don't usually have a ton of time with him in the evening after work, so I'm not likely to put him in it then anyway, so it'd only be a weekend thing, and the exersaucer is probably enough for now!
And awesome about the rotating!! Pretty soon she'll be moving forward or backwards! Better start baby-proofing!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Just wait! R started that a couple weeks ago and now is getting up on 4's and scooting herself backwards.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Oh yeah, no. K cannot reach the floor yet on either the jumperoo or the exersaucer. I put this big pillow (think dog bed) stuffed underneath> She kind of stands on tip toe just for balance, but puts her weight in the seat. Which is why I still don't like to leave her in them for very long each time. Yay for DH coming back.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
We have a jumperoo too and L loves it. He bounces all over screaming. That kid loves his voice. Our boy is tall though. We actually had to raise it to the second level because he was too tall for the lower level. LOL
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: R can touch the bottom of the exersaucer now. I was turning the seat for her to play with the other toys and DH was like she can do that herself. I had no idea. Not sure if the jumperoo will be long enough or not.
Did you see my wall post?

A weighed in at 14lbs 3.8 oz, and only 23.75 inches. He's a peanut! But healthy
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: that is a great weight! More then R weighs!
So day care said that R spit up so bad today 3 times they called it vomit. She didn't eat all of her bottles. She spit up when we got home. Then immediately started blowing raspeberries and laughing. So she isn't bothered by it. I called the answering service and a nurse called me back. She thinks it might be due to stopping the reflux medicine. So I am supposed to call the office tomorrow. The nurse said she would call the doctor if I felt more comfortable with that. But I said no cause she really seems fine. We had fun playing before bed.
And I have another clogged duct same stupid spot
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
OMG, this is the second night in a row that Xander has woken up SCREAMING his head off!!! I have no idea what's wrong with him, but he immediately calms when I start nursing.
bananas / 9973 posts
@aprk: That's good! More than K weighs at 5 months & a week!
@Smurfette: Maybe she still needs the medicine?
@Adira: Is he teething you think?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Oh! Maybe!! I didn't think of that, but that could definitely be it!
bananas / 9973 posts
Ahhh! K is SOOO squirmy today! She just wants to move and talk all day today. She doesn't want to be in anything confined. Even being in the Ergo, she's like trying to bust out. And putting her down on the ground means instant rolling, then crying, and spitting up usually. I've trapped her in the swing for now. And DH said he's coming home late, instead of early like he was planning.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Smurfette: @shopaholic: really??? Everyone's always telling me how tiny he is! I was starting to get a complex.
bananas / 9973 posts
@aprk: People always say the wrong things! I get that she is so big all the time. And I'm like, really? She's 18th percentile for weight according to the app?
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@shopaholic: haha! A is 2% for height and my husband is so freaked out. Our babies are doing just fine - who cared what the numbers say!
pomelo / 5621 posts
So much to catch up on from today! Sounds like all the babies are doing good, I hope the mama's are too.
Tomorrow myself and Isaac are going on our first overnight trip by ourselves. Wish us luck. I will have to get us both ready, the car packed and on the road just after 10am. We have about an hour drive followed by a short ferry ride. We are spending the night with my cousin and his family at the beach. It should be a lot of fun.
persimmon / 1223 posts
@aprk: Liam was the same weight for that appointment. People are crazy. Maybe they are just used to seeing really big babies?
@smurfette: Isn't it crazy how they can spit up so much then be so happy the next moment. I'm glad you got to have some fun with her before bed.
@shopaholic: We only have really put him in the highchair to take a picture when I put it together... but he sits up for the most part but definitely needs the straps too. Glad you had a great date night and that K did well sleeping at her grandparents - she is so cute standing!
@adira: Sounds like it could be teething! We are having our share of difficulties that I suspect is due to teething as well. Hope the rest of your night goes well!
@travellingbee: That's funny that he likes his voice! I bet he has a blast in the jumparoo! We really need to get something like that soon!
Today daycare said Liam was really cranky and hungry. I suspect it might be more due to teething rather than being more hungry. What's with daycare always wanting to feed so much!?!?! I am sending 20oz I think that seems like enough?! It really doesn't help that DH does all the pick up and drop off because I don't know if he gets the whole story... He wants me to do drop off tomorrow morning so I can chat with them. I'm not sure since it means I have to leave early from home and I am usually always running a little behind.
persimmon / 1223 posts
alv91711: Good luck for your trip! That sounds like fun - enjoy the ferry ride and the beach!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@dojo: I think sometimes other people think crankiness equals them being hungry, when that is not always the case. 20oz seems like it should be enough for the day. Hopefully you can make it in the morning and talk to them about it.
@Adira: What time is he waking up screaming? I hope this stops for you soon.
@Smurfette: I hope that she is feeling better and stops with all the spit up.
@shopaholic: So cute standing. Sounds like you had a great date night. That must of been great to go out.
@aprk: Sounds good for the weight. How were the shots?
I'm hoping for better sleep tonight. Last night Isaac got up to nurse 4 times. OMG! I think the problem is he isn't getting enough in the late afternoon/early evening and then filling up in the night and morning. So now to get him to eat more in the day so that he doesn't eat so much at night.
