@aprk: sorry you had a bad night too. I am already dreading work tomorrow.
@ALV91711: I am excited for you!!! It will be so good to be home.
@travellingbee: How did you sleep train??

@shopaholic: where did you get your leash for Sophie? R almost lost it a couple times today. I looked at BBB but didn't see anything like it.

She didn't crawl lots of getting up on all 4's and rocking back and forth. So bummed day care will see it first this week. Sad Mommy and Daddy!

Its been busy week with work haven't been up to date on thread and just catching up. I have been researching online about getting Jumperoo its more expensive compared to Jumper and we don't have much space in apt. I keep changing my mind and can't make a decision! I want J to exercise his legs he still spends most time in lying position unless we prop him to sitting. Here he is sitting at 5mo
@Smurfette: Wow R is ready to crawl!! My little J is still figuring out the mechanics of rolling! @aprk: Hope you get some sleep tonite.
@shopaholic: Aww that is so sweet your lo is giving kisses back.

@Smurfette: Sorry about the sleep. Honestly, since the rolling has begun, I've had to nurse K back to sleep every night at least once. Beyond the first couple of days, I don't mind so much anymore. I feel like she's growing so fast, who knows when will our last MOTN feeding be. I'm getting sappy.

Nordstrom sells some Sophie leashes, but I found these on Amazon for MUCH cheaper. And I like that I could get black ones.

I think your daycare should NOT tell you if she starts crawling and let you be surprised!

K's been wanting to crawl sort of! I mean, I know she somehow moves herself all the way UP the length of the crib each night, but I think it's her doing pikes and inching up there! She even tried to crawl towards my friend's baby today. It was so cute! She was trying to touch the baby non-stop and grabbing on her sleeves! eek!

@silver1: I know what you mean about the price of the jumperoo. I only gave back the one my friend lent us for the doorway because our only doorway that would work was too narrow and not really visible to keep an eye on her. I think she hit her hand on the side when I wasn't right next to her and she started crying. So... just went with the jumperoo.

J is so adorable! Look at those big eyes and head of hair!

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@shopaholic: They won't tell me till I tell them I saw it. It is more I just know they will see it first. Isn't it funny how they scoot all over the crib. Like a month ago DH and I were like how does she do that?!?! Now it is a game, where in the crib is R!
Thanks for the link! I will look it up.
@silver1: We have. a jumper cause a friend gave it to us. Do you have an exersaucer? He is so cute and look at all that hair

@Smurfette: maybe she won't crawl at daycare this week and will wait until next weekend.

@silver1: I love all his hair.

I think it will be a while before Isaac gets good at rolling or tries to crawl. He likes to be sitting up so much and would rather do this. His balance is getting pretty good.

I always get so behind on the weekends!! Time to catch up!

@shopaholic: Sorry to hear that you and your DH aren't feeling well!! I hope you feel better soon! And that's awesome that K loves the jumperoo and gives kisses!!! I'm trying to teach Xander to kiss, but he totally doesn't get it, haha.

@Smurfette: Xander slept great, as usual! I should probably stop complaining about him...

Ugh, sorry to hear you're re-sleep training! That SUCKS! How's it going??

Awww, sorry R didn't crawl for you this weekend!! Maybe she'll hold off all week too and do it FIRST for you next weekend!

@silver1: OMG, J is sooooooo cute!!!!! And I hear you - Xander's still working on rolling and needs more leg exercises! We have an exersaucer, but I'm not sure how much of a leg workout he gets in it. We just try to prop him up on his feet for a little bit every day so he can work on strengthening them. He definitely is getting stronger, but it's slow going!

  9. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: I would rather her sit up then crawl. Being mobile scares me!
@Adira: It isn't going....CIO didn't work at all Saturday night. Last night she woke up at 2 and then woke up at 530 for the day. But then fell back asleep on the way to day care. She didn't eat til 6, so I don't think hunger woke her up. At least last night it was only one wake up. DH asked me this morning, did she even wake up? Jerk

@Smurfette: OMG, men suck!!!!! I hate it when Hubs stay stupid stuff like that to me! I get that he's curious and actually wants to know, but he should've woken up just like I did!!!

thanks ladies keep thinking I should style his hair somehow. I should lookup on pinterest!
@shopaholic: Omg K is going to crawl!! it is so cute about her interest in baby!! sorry she got hurt on jumper. How wide is your doorway? mine is standard one so wondering.
@Smurfette: Maybe R will just keep strengthening planks at daycare and then next weekend she'll crawl first time for you!! We don't have exercauser Im just thinking to get one of these.
@Adira: Oh thatz good to know we are planning to get just one so maybe I m going to just skip exerciser and choose between jumper or jumperoo

  12. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Seriously, sometimes I hate that I have boobs
@silver1: R LOVES the exersaucer at home and day care. Does he like standing up? If so then get it! I don't know that you would need an exersaucer and jumperoo/jumper. We only have both cause both were hand me downs.

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@silver1: I know one good way to have them work on standing with the exersaucer is to just stand them on the outside and have them hold onto the top and play with the activities that way. We haven't tried it with Xander yet because he's not nearly stable enough, but it's an option!

  14. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@Smurfette: we started The Sleep Lady method but then I got sick and we gave up I don't know what to do now. He is teething and just got his first daycare cold so nothing right now...

  15. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@travellingbee: aww, R got one after her first week too Do you have a humidifier going?

  16. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@silver1: I don't know if it's standard size? It's a pocket door on the side of our kitchen. It's just easy for her to sway side to side and then holds onto the edges/side of the jumper, so her fingers and knuckles would be easily hit against the doorway.

The jumperoo and exersaucer definitely has more toys and things to do and she loves them!

  17. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: I hate it when they sleep right through a waking. Some nights it will be the second time we are up and DH will make a comment of how long he went and how great that is without even knowing we had already been up.

Today Isaac discovered his thumb. He always has fingers or knuckles in his mouth and chews/sucks on them. Today he was sucking on his thumb. I hope that this passes and he doesn't become a thumb sucker.

@Adira: That is a good idea to practice standing.

@Smurfette: I'm hoping R doesn't crawl at daycare this week and will wait until next weekend.

  18. silver1

    apricot / 338 posts

@shopaholic: oh ok thanks yup a pocket door is narrower. I was looking at ceiling thinking and realized we have beams duh! there should be enough space. Anyway we decided to go with jumper since I had a gift card that I used and didn't have to pay. I have been making too many baby purchases.
@Adira: That is a good idea although J is not stable standing yet.
@travellingbee: Aww sorry hope he is feeling better soon
@ALV91711: J sucks on thumb too and I hope its a passing phase. He usually varies between putting multiple fingers from both hands so its not just a thumb thing.

Ugh now he has diarrhea too. miserable baby. Daycare said he's been nearly inconsolable and I'm waiting for a call back from the doctor.

    @travellingbee: aww poor little guy.

    bananas / 9973 posts

@ALV91711: I wouldn't worry about him becoming a thumb-sucker if he's just now found it. K sucks her thumb to self-soothe, but it's not a constant thing so I don't worry too much. You can try offering him a paci if you're concerned.

@silver1: Thanks. Yeah, it seems like a small door (between the kitchen and dining room). Yay for GCs!

My allergies have been driving me BONKERS! I'm so congested, blowing my nose, and coughing up phlegm. But I'm too scared to take Sudafed. Tried the neti pot the other night and I couldn't tell any difference.

  23. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@shopaholic: I'm sorry your feeling so crappy. I hope it goes away soon.

Isaac finally just rolled from back to front! I almost didn't even see it as I was checking my email! I'm excited but kind of scared for him to put the two together and make himself mobile.

  24. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Goooo Isaac!! And don't worry. Xander still hasn't figured out how to be mobile, even though he's rolled both ways.

@ALV91711: @Smurfette: Thanks! But I actually feel so out of it today. Went to sleep after 2 am. Woke up at 4am and couldn't fall back asleep till 7am. K woke up around 8:30 (less than 11 hours), and I willed her back to sleep in bed with us after feeding her. Got another hour, but of course I didn't sleep. Just lied there. My back feels like sciatica and such a headache. And DH told me he can't come home early to help me. I am totally going to take something to help me sleep tonight if I can't fall asleep by midnight. All-nighters are impossible for me anymore!

  27. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@silver1: Xander's not very stable either, but I actually tried it with him the other day and was impressed with how long he COULD stand! I just hand my hands on him for balance and to catch him is he buckled, but I think he was so occupied with the toys on the exersaucer, that he stood longer than he normally does!

@ALV91711: Good luck with the thumb! I'm nervous about Xander being a thumb sucker because he likes to suck on his ALL THE TIME! He'll even try to sneak it in his mouth while I'm nursing!!!

@shopaholic: Sorry to hear you're so sick!! That's one of the good things about having Xander in daycare - I sent him in yesterday when I was sick so I could REST! I just had to wake up every 3 hours to pump, haha. I don't know how you do it!!! I hope you feel better soon!!

  28. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: nursing and thumb sucking, that would be interesting.

@shopaholic: I hope you were able to get some sleep last night.

Isaac is 5 months today. I just can't believe it. I already feel like he is growing up too fast.

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: haha, yeah! He'll be nursing away and I won't be paying attention and then I'll suddenly feel like he's not sucking as well as normal and I glance down and he's got a thumb in there with my boob!!! I'm like "WTF are you doing??" It's definitely a serious habit for him! I'm just hoping he doesn't suck it until he's 12!

Happy 5th Month Birthday Isaac!!!! They grow up some damn fast!

@Adira: thanks. Omg Kaitlyn sneaks her thumb in while nursing sometimes too!!! Lol! I looked it up though one day - seems to be a short phase only. Discovery and stuff.

@ALV91711: thanks. Happy 5 Months Isaac!

@Adira: @shopaholic: haha J sneaks his thumb in while nursing too!

    @ALV91711: happy 5 months Isaac!!

J is turning 6 months in 3 days.

@Mrs. High Heels: @shopaholic: Yay! I'm so glad Xander's not the only one that does this!

    @Mrs. High Heels: OMG, I can't believe he's almost 6 months!!!!

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: eek!! 6 months! We've had these babies for half a year almost?! Have you started solids yet?

So K has really become more and more interested in our dog the past couple of weeks. This week she has even been petting (luckily not grabbing) her! But our blind and jealous chihuahua wants nothing to do with K.

  35. Mrs. High Heels

    blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts

@shopaholic: i've started realllly inconsistently... so far we've only done 1 meal a day 3x in the last week. this morning i gave him some banana. he only got a few spoonfuls and it all dribbled out of his mouth!

i tried to put some slices in front of him too, but he wasn't really going for it.

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: Are you doing purees or BLW?? I'm so scared to start solids but Xander is six months in... FIVE DAYS!!!! WTF!!!!! Gaahhhhhh - I was thinking J was turning six months sooooooo soon, but Xander's only a few days behind him!!!!

  37. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@shopaholic: L too! He's totally into the dog lately. The dog-- not so much into L.

He still has diarrhea but no fever. I don't know if it is from teething or a stomach thing but day care doesn't seem to mind that he is there.... I keep waiting for a call... And his sleep is crap right now and I feel like I can't do anything about it since he is sick and teething. I am pooped.

This morning, I was pumping at work and the power went out!!! UGH! I found another girl that I work with that has a battery pack for the PISA and was able to finish but by the time I got back to it, it was like starting all over again. I couldn't get a let down-- it took FOREVER! No idea what caused the outage but it lasted for a couple of hours!

Finally, Little L seems to be making an attempt to crawl. He does this thing where he plants his face down and pushes up onto his knees or feet and then pushes/scoots forward. Almost like he is doing the worm, LOL. He made it across the whole bed this morning. Funny little guy.
Phew that was a lot- haven't caught up in while!

@Smurfette: Has she made any crawling progress?! So exciting!

  38. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: What?? 6 months already?
    @ALV91711: happy 5 months Isaac!
@Adira: 5 days till he is 6 months?!?! Crazy town.
@travellingbee: Glad you found a battery back up! Hours of engorgement wouldn't have been fun. I have read diarrhea can be a sign of teething. Can you tell if the teeth are about to pop through?

No crawling yet. She gets up on all 4's and rocks back and forth and will hold it for a while but then just drops back to the ground. She scoots herself in a complete circle if I move the toys.

I was blowing raspberries on her tummy last night and she was laughing so hard. It was melting my heart. I got it on video, but you can't see her face. I couldn't do the video and raspberries at the same time. But at least DH got to hear it, he said that it made his day.

R is waking up twice a night now like every night. Sucks.

@Smurfette: Aw I love baby laughing!!! So cute! Yeah, his bottom two are about to break through. But they have been for a week and still nothing. Sigh.

  40. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Mrs. High Heels: I don't blame him! Bananas are GROSS!

@travellingbee: Exactly! She's blind, so when I call her to come to us, she comes and then turns right back around as soon as she senses K! Sorry to hear L is still having diarrhea. Those attempts at crawling are what I've been calling pikes. It's like a pike exercise! I figure she's getting some good abs doing those! Sucks about the power outage!

@Smurfette: I know what you mean! I want a video of her laughing hysterically when I'm kissing and blowing raspberries, but I can't do it all myself you know!
