@shopaholic: be glad, very glad, she isn't teething. R is up yet again:(

@shopaholic: That is good that she doesn't have teeth. I'm so not looking forward to teething.
@Smurfette: Oh no, I hope you get some sleep tonight. Is DH taking some of the night wakings?
I hadn't thought about cups yet. When do you plan on starting with this? Also what are you going to put in it? Isaac still hates the bottle, so I'm not sure how he'll like a cup.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: he took the first one. I am now on the 3rd:(
We need a cup right away to introduce water so she won't get constipated once starting solids.

So K didn't fall asleep nursing tonight. I've been noticing that hasn't been doing the trick as well lately. Usually she falls asleep and I can do the transfer pretty easily, even if she kind of wakes up. Tonight, she spit up (which is the only feeding she never spits up after), woke up, and rolled all around her crib for ~10 min. I had to keep repositioning her, but finally she fell asleep. I hope this isn't a sign of more difficult bedtimes to come. Naps already are so hard to come by, IDK how I can deal with tough bedtimes too.

@shopaholic: that is not good. I hope bedtimes don't get worse. It took 45 min to get Isaac to bed tonight. He usually just nurses to sleep, but tonight he kept waking himself up as soon as my hands left him.
He used to nurse to sleep for naps. But he has stopped doing that. Now I have to rock him to sleep each time.
Now I need to get myself to sleep before he decides to wake me up.

OMG... she just woke up crying! Like REALLY crying!
IDK if she had a bad dream or something. I can't remember the last time that's happened! I mean, she had a lot of wake-ups with the rolling, but it wasn't like a sudden wail and burst into crying. That was like she woke herself up, got frustrated, and little cries.
I know we're in a month-long Wonder Week on the chart. I hope this is not something to expect for weeks!

@Mrs. Blue: I agree!! I am trying to remind myself every wake up how lucky we are to have her. And how blessed she is healthy.
Everyone keeps telling me to hang in there and this will pass. This Mom is ready now!!

@shopaholic: I don't know if you have a white noise machine?
J does that too once or twice a night crying loud in sleep. What we have trained is I make thumping noise with my palm on boppy next to him for a min or so and it seems to calm him down and goes back to sleep. I got a sleep sheep so my hand is not getting tired but no luck with sheep he still prefers my homemade noise!
@Mrs. Blue: agreed our babies need to get the memo pronto!!

OMG, I just put our high chair together! What!!!!
@shopaholic: Awww, that's happened with Xander a couple times! The first time was when he scratched his eye! Is it possible K hurt herself? The other times though I couldn't find an injury, so I think maybe he just had a bad dream or something. It's so sad.
@ALV91711: I ordered one of those Zoli straw cups, but haven't received it yet. I'm going to get a regular sippy too just to have other options. I'm going to put water in it and try to offer it with the solids to prevent constipation, hopefully!

@Adira: crazy huh! I put R in hers this morning while I frosted some cupcakes.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Gahhh! She's so cute!!!
And.... I just bought baby food!!! Ahhhh!!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I got the Fisher Price one that attaches to a chair. You?
ETA: Okay, you totally weren't asking me about the chair, haha. Next post!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I got some Gerber ones that are labeled "1st Food". I got Sweet Potato, Squash, Carrots, and Pears.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: yeah not the high chair! We had that one but it didn't fit right with our chairs and table. I am glad we got this one so I can move it from room to room easier. Since we just have a dining room. I think we are going to go with Gerber, for solids, as well!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Now I just have to work up the nerve to actually feed it to him, haha! And luckily the high chair fits perfectly with out kitchen table and chairs!

@Adira: I just fed her rice cereal and she gobbled it up!! Loves it
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I hate to admit but I think day care was right. She really was wanting it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: How much did she end up eating? Did you mix it with BM or formula at all? If so, what was the ratio you used?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I did 1 tbsp cereal and 4 tbsp BM last night and she didn't really like it. Was so thin. Think it confused her like why isn't this in a bottle? Tonight I did 1 tbsp cereal and 2 tbsp milk and success! She wanted another 1 tbsp, so 2 tbsp all together.

@Smurfette: Thanks for the info!! Glad to hear it went well!!! Did you get any pics?

Sorry I've been MIA lately. We've been out of town and Andy has been not giving me any time to relax. I am so darn tired!
But he is officially mobile now so tonight we baby proofed his room. Tonight is his first with the floor bed - fingers crossed!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: So adorable!!! And that's crazy that he's mobile! Xander's still not, thank goodness! Good luck with the floor bed tonight!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: is he crawling???? Good luck!! What made you decide to do that? R is still working on crawling. She is getting her butt so high in the air doing planks, so cute!
@Adira: of course!
apricot / 338 posts
@Smurfette: oh my gosh shez such a cutie!! and Yay for liking the cereal!!
@aprk: Wow did he get up and sit by himself? Looks sooo cute!! J is not even close to being mobile. He is content lying back and watching the world pass by.
.@Adira: Good luck with baby food!! J is not mobile either and we have not baby proofed yet. So I ended up getting the jumper as we got it free. First time he wasn't sure in it and cried but then after sometime I tried again. He was just content hanging in there but later pushed a bit with his feet. I am hoping that gives some exercise for his legs.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Adira: thanks!
@Smurfette: his crawl isn't pretty, per se, but it's effective, haha! R is such a sweetie
how's the rice cereal going?
@silver1: he slid off the bed and just say there for a while. I was surprised! He's never done that before ...
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: well it certainly didn't help her sleep. She just woke up after a little over 2 hours. DH is trying to get her asleep.
Crawling doesn't need to be pretty! Exciting though!!!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@silver1: he was so cool about it, haha
@Smurfette: oh boo. The floor bed isn't magic either - he woke up after 45 minutes (his new normal) and then THUD fell off after another 30 minutes. I'm hoping he learns quickly
Basically his room is montessori style so it's all babyproofed and he can get in and out of bed himself (eventually). Fosters independence and hopefully makes for happier babies.
ETA there is a safety gate at his door
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: @silver1: @adira: Yes. DH just held her and rocked a little in the glider for less than 10 min. I think she just had a bad dream.
Yes. We always use a white noise every night.
@Smurfette: OMGosh how cute is she!
@aprk: Whaaaaattt??!! Big boy is crawling already??? eek!
Oh.My.Gosh.People. Kaitlyn has been napping for over an hour now! I can't even tell you the last time that's happened. A month? I really don't know. I'm ecstatic, but also keep checking on her since she's napping on my bed. She does not want anything to do with her crib when it comes to naps. But I'm just glad we're making nap progress, slowly, but surely... And now I've probably jinxed myself to have her wake up!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: 3 hrs and 48 min.!!! Wth?!?! I dont think shes ever done that besides jet lag! She slept past her bedtime! Totally messed up her night though. She looked so out of it. When she started getting fussy, we tried to do her normal routine. But she even seemed confused herself when she couldn't nurse to sleep. DH ended up holding/rocking her for an hour. And now she's woken up less than 6 hrs from when she finally fell asleep. I think it was much too much sleep too close to bedtime. :(.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Wow!! That was a long time. Sorry it messed up her night time. I would be super happy with 6 hours though:)
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Smurfette: about standard, up every 2 hours or so. He rolled off the mattress a few times which scared him. My husband slept in the room with him just to be on the safe side, but A must not have recognized him or his smell in the dark since he is gone so often. He just screamed until I woke up and went in there
I felt so bad for my husband. How's R and the teething?
