Uhhh... found a disaster waiting for me when I went to feed Xander this morning. Apparently the amoxicillin he's on DID give him diarrhea. I had to change his outfit, his sheets, AND his mattress pad (and apparently I don't own a second mattress pad, grrrr). And he was just crying the whole time because he was hungry. It sucked.

Does anyone else think it is weird that Marty is naked but Owen is in a diaper? I just feel bad for Owen. R can do everything. Go R!
@Adira: That is the worse! I have only had one blowout like that but it was in the middle of the night. Luckily DH was home so he could change the sheets while I got her cleaned up. We just put a towel under the crib sheet since the mattress pad was dirty.
It is so hard changing them when they are crying cause they are hungry.
Our pedictrician told us to use Culturelle in one bottle a day to help. R went poop like 5 times yesterday, day care said only one was a blow out. She had pooped overnight and then right after I nursed her. So I hate to think what it would be without the Culturelle.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I had to skip over watching Owen because it just depresses me!!! And maybe Marty's naked because he JUST went to the bathroom beforehand and so they weren't worried about him making a mess, but the same isn't true for Owen? Who knows!!
Xander's been on the amoxicillin for a week and this was the first time he had a blowout like this! I hope it's not going to get worse before it gets better! And that's crazy how much R has gone!!! Good think your'e using the Culturelle!! I can't wait for our babies to be feeling better!

@Adira: I feel so bad for Owen. Looks like Isaac is on track for development.Yuck on a morning blowout.
Yesterday Isaac was being held by someone else and he reached for me!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: OMG, so sweet!!!! Xander hasn't really reached for me when being held by someone else, but I can tell that he's excited to see me and wants me. But I want the reaching!!! Yay Isaac!!!

So R gave me a huge scare last night. I put her in the middle of our king bed, while I walked into the bathroom to change out of work clothes and go to the bathroom. She was crying the whole time. I go to wash my hands and she is on the edge of the bed. If I hadn't been there, she would have crawled right off the bed.
Normally she just lays on our bed and doesn't crawl at all. But her army crawling has gotten really good this week, so no more playing in Mommy and Daddy's bed for R. She is stuck on the floor now!

L seems to be right on with the video except the pivoting on his belly. He does it but not as adeptly as Marty. He prefers to roll.
He's still sick. Had a temp of 103.3 last night
@Smurfette: yeah that's scary. L's done that too.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: glad you got there before she fell off. That must of been quite the scare.
In the last few days Isaac has started with a very high pitch shriek when he is tired or hungry. I really hope he stops this soon. It is not too terrible at home, but we were out today and he started and everyone looks at you like you've done something terrible.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@travellingbee: I hope that he starts to feel better soon. Are you at least getting some sleep?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: Poor guy! Hopefully snuggles with Mommy and Daddy all weekend will help.
@ALV91711: I hate when everyone stares at you. I want it scream, babies cry, stop staring at me!
R had another bad day of naps. She hasn't let me put her down, doesn't want to play, nothing. She spit up three times since we have been home, an hour. I did put her in the bath without the infant sling and she loved splashing around. Which was good since I broke down crying after she split a whole big cup of water on the hardwoods. I can't wait for DH to get home tonight. She is so tired so early bedtime tonight!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh yikes!!! Good thing you got to her before she took a tumble!!! Crazy mobile babies!
@travellingbee: I still need to check the pivoting on the belly, but Xander rarely even gets himself up on his arms, so I doubt he'll do any pivoting!
@Smurfette: Awww, poor R and poor Mama! I don't know how you handle taking care of the baby all by yourself all the time!! I FEEL like I do a ton of the work for Xander, but Hubs definitely helps out! I can only imagine how much more work it is without the help!!!
So I asked daycare to TRY to put Xander down for a third nap when he's there. I'm so sick of never getting to spend any time with him in the evening except nursing because he naps as soon as we get home, then he wakes up to eat and then it's straight back to bed.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Why won't they nap? Don't like they playing with us in the evening??
I don't know how I do it either. I will say I have no clue how @ aprk: does it. I get a break while at work, she never does.

@Smurfette: I have to be honest, my husband is away on business travel for the next 5 weeks, and earlier this week I said I can totally see why people want to go back to work. Ugh, it's tough. But, while I plan out events for us to get out daily I try not to think much beyond the next hour. Otherwise, it is so overwhelming!!
And, to make it more complicated, A is not only crawling, he started STANDING this morning. He pulls up on everything. Ay yi yi.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: 5 weeks straight?? Honey, I am sorry!!
Standing, WTF!!! Did you tell him he is only 6 months old???
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@aprk: oh mama, 5 weeks?!?! my husband is going away on business for 4 days next month and i'm already not looking forward to it. hang in there mama.... =/
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@Smurfette: luckily he is home on weekends, or I think I would just pass out, haha. And here's the crazy part - he's not even 6 months yet!!! This kid is outta control. Imagine what he would do if he actually slept well!
@Mrs. High Heels: No matter how long they are away, it sucks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: OMG, 5 weeks??? That's crazy!!! And I can't believe he's pulling up to standing! Xander's no where near that!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: I am glad he is home on the weekends. You better take time for yourself then. That is an order!!!!! Wow! He is going to walk by 8 months!!!!! Did you ever call the sleep consultant?
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: yikes! What a rough start to the day. I agree, they should try to get him to nap so you can play with him at home!
Does he nap on the car ride ever?
@Smurfette: I did wonder why Marty is diaper-less? Yikes! Scary! K is a rolling machine, and even with pillow walls all-around, I can't leave her really unattended on our bed either. I was just brushing my teeth, standing in the bathroom doorway and she managed to roll to the edge of the bed (and I was only a couple of feet away). I usually put her in the Bumbo, in the middle of the bed, with pillows around, if I need to keep her on the bed for awhile.
@ALV91711: Awww! That is awesome! I *think* K reaches for me sometimes, but it's hard to tell if she's doing it on purpose, or trying to grab at me?
@aprk: 5 weeks?! Oh my! I hope you have some help coming? And standing? whoa! We have some super-talented March babies!
* Ugh! K has napped 15 min. and 19 min. today. That's it. I've just spent over 1.5 hours trying to get her to nap again and she JUST fell asleep finally, in the swing. My mom said I'm spoiling her. No one in my family seems to place any importance on naps. They tell me she'll sleep if she's tired. But since she never has meltdowns or full-on cry in front of them, they think she is fine and I'm being too controlling or something. They want me tote her around to restaurants so they can "see" her. Ah! I just needed to vent. Even DH just says "what are you going to do" if she won't nap on her own anywhere they want. Why am I the only person who think naps are important?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: I hope she sleeps well tonight.
@aprk: Standing?!? Oh my he is going to keep you busy. You are amazing doing 5 weeks on your own. I really hope his sleep gets better for you.
@shopaholic: I think naps are so important. I've been working so hard to make sure Isaac gets his. I have people tell me he doesn't look tired, but he fights his naps and I know he is.
My little sister phoned me tonight to tell me I'm going to be an auntie!!! I'm so excited I had to share. I'm do happy Isaac will have a cousin close in age. She is due in April.

@ALV91711: Yay! Congrats! I know what you mean. K fights naps so hard. But I know she needs them.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@shopaholic: starting next Tuesday I'm nap training. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do, but I will have a few days we don't have to go anywhere to do it in.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: sorry they don't understand how important naps are:(
@ALV91711: so exciting!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Yes, a lot of the times he falls asleep in the car, but we're only 10 minutes from the daycare, so he'll just continue sleeping once we get home.
Yikes!!! Sorry to hear about K's crappy naps AND people not understanding the importance of them! I don't understand how people don't get that?? K's a little baby! Of course she needs to nap!!

Ya'll I'm so behind on this thread. I can't even catch up.
So here's a picture of my baby so you won't notice how bad I am at keeping in touch.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Arden: she's beautiful! That dress is perfect for her. Is your photoshoot done already??
honeydew / 7589 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: Nope! I just put her in the dress today and took this picture for MIL cause she asked for a shot today.
Shoot is on Oct. 19. Hope the dress still fits then! It's a 12M, so it'd better.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Arden: she is adorable!! 12 months! We are still in 3-6 comfortably. I feel so behind.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Arden: she's a beauty. I love that dress.
@Smurfette: Isaac wears 3-6 month pants but bigger tops. He's got short legs.
Ladies I'm out without my baby!! Just waiting to get my haircut. I'm just hoping he takes a nap while I'm gone.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Arden: Look at her!!!! She's so adorable!!! And what a good stander!
@Smurfette: @ALV91711: Xander's in 3-6 except in sleepers! He's the opposite of Isaac - he's got long legs! 6 month onesies fit him perfectly, but I need 9 month pants or sleepers to accommodate his long legs.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@ALV91711: Woohoo! Enjoy your time away, hope it makes you feel refreshed and rejuvenated!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Smurfette: @ALV91711: @Adira: I never know what to put J in for pants because size 12 months are too long, but they're perfect around his waist... he has a big belly. He's in 9 or 12 month onesies now though.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: I hope you had a fabulous time by yourself!!
Y'all it is breaking my heart, R is spitting up so much still. It is mucusy (is that a word?). She doesn't seem bothered by it at all at least. We tried bananas today and she loved them!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Aww, poor R!!! But that's good that it's not bothering her too much! And yay bananas! Xander had bananas again today too and actually seemed to figure out how to drink from the Zoli cup! Did you ever get straws for yours?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yes but I haven't tried it yet. I need too cause she doesn't get the sippy cup. Did you do a whole piece of banana? I did the Gerber puree. We didn't have any fresh ones.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I gave him half of a fresh banana. It was a mess! I tried mashing some of it and spoon feeding him and he wouldn't eat it! He wanted to feed himself!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: maybe BLW would be better for him instead of purees.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Maybe! I haven't really tried anything else besides cereal and banana since he started actually eating.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
We are in 9 month stuff except his sleepers that are 9 mos are too tight on his thighs.
You know what? L refuses blw. He will only take purées and prefers jarred to homemade . What a weirdo. If given a banana, he smooshes it but won't eat it.
He was puking today. All morning. We almost had to take him back to the ER but he finally kept down some pedialyte. The dr. Said its likely because of the mucus from the croup upsetting his tummy.
