@Adira: I know I feel so bad........But I don't want to wake her up in the middle of the night to change her when she is sleeping.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, I wouldn't wake her either. Xander had a horrible diaper rash for a few weeks, so I'm sure R will eventually be okay. Hopefully changing more often during the day will help and then once she's done the meds, it will clear up.

Ha! I was talking to my Mom and told her what happened this morning and she was like why didn't you just put her in the crib so she wouldn't keep crawling towards you and the mess. I was silent and then like I have no idea. That would have made more sense, huh! I guess I wasn't fully awake yet!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh, haha, I had just assumed her explosion had gotten the sheets dirty and you hadn't dealt with it yet! But I'm like you - I only put Xander in his crib for sleeping so I probably wouldn't have thought to put him there just to keep him out of the way!

@travellingbee: @Adira: Thanks for commiserating. I think I was so frustrated yesterday because I do nurse her side-lying in bed usually for her afternoon nap (only way I've been able to get a decent one). But she kept kicking and digging. I try gently holding her legs. I even put a pillow in between my stomach and her legs, but she was having fun shoving her feet under and over. I know it's more of a fun, sensory thing for her. She loves to shove her feet in crevices and kick anything she can reach.
@Smurfette: Yikes! Sorry to hear about the diaper fiasco! Have you thought of CD'ing or trying a non-chemical diaper or temporary until the rash heals? I've read that can help. We haven't had too many diaper rashes. I did slather on a bunch of cream once and I think that made it worse. Then I was told I was only supposed to use a thin layer of the cream. So more wasn't better? I use Triple Paste when the rash looks bad.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: @Smurfette: I thought more was better because it's supposed to be a protective barrier against moisture?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: No the poop wasn't that much, it was so much peed that broke the diaper, just on her pj's not even the sleep sack.
@shopaholic: Usually when she gets a rash, we put a thick layer of triple paste on, and by morning it is gone. I have no interest in CD but I am going to look into non chemical. Usually we don't have issues with Huggies or Pampers.

She finally graduated from army crawling tonight!!!! She didn't do it much before back to army crawling but so proud!

@Smurfette: Wow that is awesome R is crawling not so long now before she starts cruising!! Yikes poopy surprise early morning! I would have been in daze too. Luckily J poops only when its DH's turn to change diaper!! No matter whatever turn daddy tries to take the present is waiting for him. my sweet baby Hope the rash clears up soon. We use 40% desitin for every poopy change and that has kept rashes away for J.
@shopaholic: J kicks a lot too but like @Adira it has gotten better past few weeks. I nurse him (mostly bottle) on my lap but his legs are longer and end up kicking the bed/pillow. He usually calms down to my singing tunes (even if its off key!!). Also we made a production of diaper change showing clean diaper so he knows its means dry diaper and he loves changing time.
So we tried peas today and he was not a fan. My dad was suggesting mixing sugar with it no wonder I have grown up with a sweet tooth!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: YAY!!!! Go R!!! I can't believe she did it!
@silver1: OMG, mixing sugar in it for a baby???? That's crazy!!! Although I do think babies prefer sweet things, so it would probably work, haha!

R kept biting me this morning and it hurt so bad. I said no, don't bit Mommy, and she was just looking at me like what did I do?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Awww, that sucks! Sorry she's a biter! Do you make her stop as soon as she bites you? Hopefully she'll eventually figure it out that biting a no-no!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yeah, I took her off each time. I think it freaked her out too cause she won't nurse anymore, and it had just been 2 mins on that side. Then she spit up all over me and my sheets. Fun morning!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh geeze!!! Although hopefully you won't have to worry about this for much longer once you've weaned her! I think I'm hoping Xander doesn't get teeth anytime soon, haha.

@Smurfette: I have to admit that the poo-peeplosion/crawling to you story made me laugh out loud. Oy. The joys of parenting. I can't believe she's crawling! Go, R!

@Mrs. Blue: Well I am glad that I brought some humor into your day!
@Adira: I hope he doesn't either, for your boobies sake!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Although he HAS started pinching!!! Not sure it's as painful as biting, but it definitely hurts! And takes me by surprise! I'll be nursing him one side and he'll just reach down with a hand, grab my other nipple and squeeze and twist!!!! I'm constantly going "No pinching!!!" and prying his hands off me!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Hopefully he'll get his hurting mama phase out with this pinching and will never bite me! I imagine that's probably more painful.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Adira: The boys are doing the pinching thing, except not during nursing since we don't nurse! Their favorite area to grab and pinch is my lower neck. Not a huge fan of this little new development.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Ugh, sorry to hear your boys are pinching too! So painful!!!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Adira: at least mine are going for a less . . . ahem . . . delicate area.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Blue: haha, seriously! Usually when I'm nursing, I just have both boobs out because he nurses one side and then the other, but now I have to remember to put the side he's not on away so it's harder for him to get at! And it's not like he even knows what he's pinching - he can't see the other boob when he's nursing (we do cross-cradle), so he is just reaching down with one hand, finds it, and is all "Oh, something to grab!" Little jerk.

I'm so behind on here... ack
@Adira: omg Liam is pinching me too while nursing! He tries to suck his thumb at the same time too. He will try to either stick his sharp little fingernail in while nursing and/or he will pinch at the same side he is nursing from.... ouch! He also bites down a little sometimes but no teeth have cut through yet so it' s not all that bad.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@dojo: haha, Xander used to try to sneak his thumb in while nursing too!!! He hasn't done that in a while, but sometimes he'll pop off just to suck his thumb even though I know he's not done eating! Babies are dumb.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: Yay R! I saw the video - so cute! Ouch on the biting!
@Adira: Yikes! Pinching there does not sound nice! I think K has begun to figure out how to pinch, but I always try to stop her/pull her hand away. I only uncover the side I'm feeding.
@dojo: K does that sometimes too! She was most interested doing that a couple weeks ago.

@shopaholic: Crazy babies!
Speaking of all this pinching do any of you ladies use a nursing necklace for your LOs to play with? I've thought about either making one or buying one but I just don't know if would be worth it...
In other news I have had some issues with supply lately and I am getting nervous that AF might be on her way back. I've been pumping a lot less this week and have had to pull frozen out everyday so far! Who knows maybe it's just random and it will go back to normal!
Feeding-wise I am thinking about trying to offer some puffs or something pretty soon since maybe he can pinch those instead of my skin! We still have been doing just the purees each day and I think he is beginning to like solids a little bit better. Maybe we will try some un-mushed banana too.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@dojo: I am not going to do a necklace cause I don't want her to try and eat my regular ones. Sorry about your supply, hope it isn't AF!! I am going to pick up some puffs this weekend to try too!! Going to see how she does with those before I try banana pieces.
persimmon / 1223 posts
@Smurfette: Oooh! Good point! i already take off my necklaces usually because otherwise he pulls on them. What type of puffs are you going to try?

@dojo: I don't know, was going to see what Target has. What about you?
persimmon / 1223 posts
@Smurfette: Probably the same thing! I was looking on Amazon at the Happy Bellies ones but it will probably depend on if I see anything good at the store

So much to catch up on! Well, I have been reading, but I find it hard to type out long comments on my phone, which is where I get most of my internet time these days.
@Adira: Pinching is painful. Isaac does this sometimes and it is like he pinches the smallest amount possible to make it hurt the most.
@Smurfette: I got bit tonight and it hurt! That is awesome that she is crawling! Go R!
@dojo: Unmashed banana is fun to give, but it does get messy.
@silver1: Sugar in the peas sounds a bit crazy. I would rather jut not do peas. This is what we are going to try tomorrow night.
Isaac is working on cutting his first tooth. No wonder our sleep has been extra horrible. I noticed yesterday. Today he didn't want me to look. When I did get a quick feel tonight I could feel sharpness.
Sleep is just a disaster, he has been getting up every 2.5 hours. I can't wait to go back to 2 wake ups.
Nap training is even more of a train wreck. Yesterday he missed both his morning naps, I gave up for his third nap and then he was up 1.5 hours later last night. Today I did no nap training. I know I need to be consistent, but when I'm so tired it is hard.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Xander's working on his first tooth too! I knew he was teething, but last night I could actually feel it poking through! And he was extra fussy.
Sorry to hear about your sleep though. That's one thing Xander's still good at. He did wake up briefly in the middle of the night crying, but put himself back to sleep. Maybe once Isaac's tooth is up, he'll sleep better for you!

R ate her toes for the first time this morning. When I dropped her off there was another little girl there. So I sat R next to her and they looked so cute sitting there playing together. I wish I took a picture.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: that is so cute that she has a friend.
So I got a look in Isaac's mouth this morning and I could see both bottom teeth. They are barely there. No wonder he has been so fussy.
So when we went out today I got him an amber teething anklet. Going to give it a shot.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: Once we saw R's it took 1-2 weeks for them to pop through. I hope I are faster for your sake!

@Smurfette: I dropped Liam off today at daycare today and there was another little boy and his teacher said they are actually born just days apart. I sat him down to sit by his friend and they were looking at each other and Liam was reaching his hands out and smiling. So cute! I wish I would have gotten a pic too!

@dojo: so cute! I love and hate how our babies are growing up into little people.
