@Smurfette: haha, I don't know that I'd say "Yay" to teeth! I'm scared of them! And he's definitely been fussier as this tooth comes up.
Awww, so cute R was eating her toes! I don't know why that's so adorable to me, but I love it! Although it makes diaper changes a little challenging, haha.
So I'm sick and stayed home today, but that meant that I didn't have to wake up Xander to eat at 5:30 and he ended up sleeping 9.5 hours last night!!!! Woohoo!

@Adira: Well the teeth are so cute when they aren't biting. R's are finally big enough when she smiles, at times, you can see them.
You are sick again? I am sorry!! That is awesome he slept that long. I really think you can skip that dream feed.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: and I will add I will take her eating her feed over crying and moving all over the place any day.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I'm just going to miss his gummy smile!!! I wish I got more pictures of it, but whenever I got the camera out, he'd put on his serious face! Oh well.
I know!!! I feel like I'm sick ALL THE TIME! I don't even know that Xander had this, so I'm not sure where I got it! And I think you're probably right that I could skip the dream feed. I think once he's eating solids regularly, I probably will stop doing it and just pump. And maybe I'll send 6oz to daycare instead so people can stop complaining to me, haha.

@Smurfette: haha, true! Xander lives in footed sleepers, so he LOVES diaper changes because he can finally get to his toes! It's so cute, but I'm always like "Put that leg down so I can get this side of the diaper on!"

@Smurfette: I really hope they come through quickly.
@Adira: Sorry your sick again. I hope it goes away quickly.

@ALV91711: Thanks! Luckily I have tomorrow off, so I won't have to take another day off from work, and hopefully I'm all better by Monday!

OMG, I put Xander down for a nap an HOUR ago and he still hasn't fallen asleep yet! He's just been playing in his crib, moving around, slamming his feet, playing with the bars. And now he's just laying there, blinking. Fall asleep already, Xander!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: At least he isn't screaming.
If we put down Isaac and he is not asleep or almost asleep he screens. Like a pissed off shriek/scream. Did this for almost an hour last night at about 12:30. At least DH dealt with him.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I agree with @ALV91711: at least he isn't crying! I would just leave him.
@ALV91711: Sorry you had a bad night
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: @Smurfette: So true! I guess I'm pretty lucky that even if he won't sleep, he can entertain himself! He did eventually fall asleep after her found the A&A blanket I had hanging over the side of the crib and pulling it down on himself, haha.
@ALV91711: Yikes - sorry to hear about the rough night! Glad your husband was there to help out though!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: See next time you just need to cover his face when you put him in the crib.
We are lowering the crib tonight. R pulled herself to her knees again yesterday and I am not taking a chance she does it in the crib. Plus it would be my luck it would be when DH is gone.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: haha, I actually do that sometimes and it's amazing how well it works!!!
I can't believe you have to lower the crib already! Xander's no where near pulling himself up at all yet! R is so advanced!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yeah I told her teacher this morning that I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't walking by Christmas (9months) and she agreed. Said another boy in the class was crawling at 6 months too and was walking by 8 months. CRAZY!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: OMG, that's crazy! R's going to be running around while Xander's still working on crawling, haha.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: don't worry our babies can just lay there doing nothing together while R runs circles around them. Isaac is close to none of these things. He is getting really good at sitting though. But he doesn't like laying, so I'm not sure how he is going to learn.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Isaac sounds like Xander. He's a great sitter (although sometimes still topples), but I have no idea how he's ever going to learn to crawl because he still doesn't seem interested in tummy time at all, haha. Oh well!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: @Adira: R has been obsessed with being on her belly since she learned to roll.
It was pretty great yesterday, she crawled over to me as soon as she saw me at day care.
I will say though I am so jealous of those that get laughs everyday. R hardly ever laughs, I guess we are boring,
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: That's so sweet that she crawls to you! Xander often ignore me when I show up at daycare, haha.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: she pulls up onto her knees from laying down? Does she pull herself to sitting by herself as well? L can pull himself to his knees from sitting but not from laying down. And he is nowhere near being able to sit himself up from laying down!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: I didn't ask the teacher. But the one time she did at home, she was crawling and then pulled herself up from that. She is trying to sit up when I put in the car seat. But nowhere close to sitting up from laying down, at least not that I know of.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: Ah that makes sense, from crawling position. L can sit himself upright, if he is in a seat like a carseat, Rock N Play, Swing etc. He will climb right out of those. Onto his head, I'm sure! I have caught him, literally, a few times. Now he is always buckled in to everything.
I don't know if I said this before, but my niece walked at 7 1/2 months. It was the craziest thing ever. Most of my family walks early (under 10 months) but that is just nutso.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: We lent our friends, due any day now, the RnP but she was trying to get out of it. I buckle her in the bouncy seat when she wakes up early and I am still getting ready.
Exciting he is pulling himself up to sitting from the car seat.
7.5 months!! That is crazy! Although @aprk: A's is already cruising, so he will probably be walking by then too.
Maybe I will start practicing sitting with R.......

hi ladies! wow, you guys are so fast for me... i can't keep up with this thread!
@Smurfette: R really is soo advanced - I can't believe she's pulling up already!
@Adira: How has Xander been doing at daycare lately now that your favorite teacher is gone? How's he doing with solids?
@ALV91711: @Adira: J is still not a great sitter. He does ok for a few minutes before toppling over. I should probably practice having him sit upright more, but he does so well on his belly and plays independently for a long time. He looves to crawl and he is everywhere and always trying to eat everything!
I am so behind and lazy about writing J's 7 month update. I think the only reason I'm still doing this is because I did it for his sister and I feel like I NEED to do it for him too or else it's not fair. I don't want him looking back on his childhood thinking, "how come N got all these things and there's nothing of me??".
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: The first couple weeks seemed kind of rough on him, but this past week, he seemed totally happy there, so I think he's adjusted to her being gone. There's a new lady there who seems pretty good with the babies and I think he seems to like her okay.
As far as solids goes, we've still just done cereal, but yesterday he actually seemed to swallow some, so we're getting there! And he seems to like it now - he seems excited when I get the spoon out and he opens his mouth wide. He's just not so good at actually closing his mouth and swallowing, haha. And he's always grabbing at the spoon.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: So big!! He looks huge!! And I know he doesn't weight that much more then R. How long is he?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: At 6 months he was supposedly 27 inches, but I suspect he was actually a little longer than that. I'm guessing he's probably 28 inches now.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Geesh, R was 25 at 6 months. My little peanut.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: At least she's more proportional! Xander's tall and skinny!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: That's what I keep saying!!! And that he'll play for the Celtics and get Hubs and I free tickets, haha.
ETA: I think that would be Hubs' dream come true. He LOVES basketball.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
A is pulling up to stand on everything and his new favorite is to climb all over me like a jungle gym. It's cute but way too fast!! And I'm exhausted. He never slows down and HATES to sit.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: Is he 6 months yet? That is why the boy doesn't sleep, his brain is too busy figuring out how to do everything early!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
So I just tried sweet potatoes again. I decided to just mix a small amount of the sweet potatoes with his cereal to see how that went and as soon as he tasted it, he was totally grossed out and refused to open his mouth again. So then I made just plain cereal and got him to eat that and while he was eating it, I gave him some of the sweet potato mixture and he didn't seem to notice! Interesting...
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@aprk: he is like Super Baby!!
@Adira: interesting! Trick him again to get his veggies!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: That must of been so awesome when she crawled to you. I love it when I walk into a room and Isaac smiles at me.
@Adira: I can't believe he is 7 months. He is so long! That is awesome that you got him to eat some veggies.
@aprk: I hope you get some rest this weekend. Sounds like he is keeping you super busy. As much as I'm looking forward to these things, I like that I can put Isaac down and he won't go anywhere.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Ugh, sometimes I hate my husband. He's being such a jerk. I asked him to help me with Xander and he totally didn't get why I wanted help and told me to just let him do it and then when I tried to explain why it would've been better if we were BOTH doing it, he just started swearing at me and being a jerk RIGHT IN FRONT of Xander!!! I tried to tell him that he can be mad at me all he wants and swear at me all he wants but to NOT do it right in front of our son! And then he just started swearing even MORE and getting LOUDER and just telling me to F off! So I told him to get out and I took over with Xander so that his father wasn't just swearing at his mother RIGHT THERE. I was so pissed!!! I get that Xander doesn't really understand what's going on - but is that really something he wants to teach his son? That it's okay to swear at his wife (or mother) and disrespect her like that??? I wanted to swear right back at him but I have WAY too much respect for both him AND Xander to do that. But clearly he doesn't feel the same way!! A-hole.

@Adira: Oh man! Sorry you guys argued and in front of Xander. Not a nice way to start the weekend. Hopefully you guys make up quick and all will be better. {hugs}
P.S. Xander is SUCH a cutie pie! So handsome, tall, and lean!
