@travellingbee: What does the estrogen cream do?
Glad that he has a good night last night. Babbling is so fun.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: Not sure exactly but I have vaginal atrophy, which is not that uncommon, postpartum when you are bf-ing. I think it just means I am not producing any "fluids" down there. The estrogen gets your body back on track. I have to use it for 6 weeks, twice a week. Then I am supposed to be good to go. Frankly we have both been so sick with colds and strep etc. that it hasn't even been appealing anyway.
I know I hope he starts doing it more! He screams and makes lots of happy sounds but not consonants except at the beginning. He'll say "Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" Or "Maaaaahhhhhhhhh!" But not ba-ba or ma-ma. And he still LOVES to blow raspberries. Constantly.

@travellingbee: Interesting. I have never heard of that. Maybe I have low estrogen, cause I have dryness issues even before baby.

@travellingbee: OMG, I LOVE the babbling!!!! It's soooooo adorable!!! I hope he babbles some more for you!! And Xander still loves blowing raspberries too! Sorry to hear about the clogged duct.

@Adira: Nice dream! And yay for DH being on YOUR plan!
@Smurfette: First one was just over an hour, second one was 40 min. So I can't complain. I was just hoping she'd get a 20 min. nap at least for her last one. She ended up being up for almost 5 hours straight before bedtime.
I've also noticed the clumps of hair have slowed down. Still shedding a lot, but it's much more manageable now. On the flip side, my bald spots around my hairline have now become a short little lion mane! Re-growth is funny - or at least I have to think it is. No headband or bobby pins can tame them!
@travellingbee: Aww... yay for babbling! Boo on the clogged duct! I think I have a bit of that dryness issue. Wouldn't know though cuz I can't remember the last time we DTD. hahah.
Last night was TERRIBLE ladies! We haven't had such a rough night since we had jet lag in Europe! K woke up so many times crying so hard, I lost count. She was pretty easy to get back to sleep each time, she was really tired, but she kept waking up less than an hour each time. She must have really been in teething pain. She had both hands shoved in her mouth, didn't want daddy, only wanted mama and was snuggling into me. I finally let her sleep in bed with me because I was so tired. She'd still wake up every once in awhile, crying, but I would just roll her into my side to cuddle. Poor girl. Checked this morning and still no teeth! wth?! But I can feel the hard bumps on the outside of the gums. And she still woke up normal time - no make-up time for lost sleep.
Also, I still haven't gotten my IUD. Between waiting for insurance authorization, my OB being on maternity leave, and then the other doctor had an emergency and my appt. was cancelled - finally my appt is for tomorrow. BUT, I was only planning to keep it in for 1 year, take it out and give BC a rest before we start trying again. DH has been saying more and more that we'll only have K, but I am not OK with that. So I told him I don't want to get the IUD anymore. K is already 7 months, and I was only going to have it for a year. He was okay with it. So I guess I will just let whatever happens happen in the future. For now, we'll just do PnP? I mean, there is no point to get an IUD now right? I don't want to get preggers right now, but I don't see the point of having it for less than a year?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Sorry you had a rough night. LO's always want their Mommy when sick for sure. Do you see white spot on the gums? Did you give her some Advil to help with the pain?
and R never sleeps in when she had a bad night either
Personally I would still get an IUD even only for a year. I will only have mine for a little over a year but it makes me feel 100% better about not getting pregnant again until we are both ready for it. I know to many who have gotten pregnant using the Pull Out Method and even condoms.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@shopaholic: I'm so sorry about the night. Teething is horrible on these poor babies. You may want to consider giving her some Tylenol or ibuprofen before bed and see if that helps. Poor baby. I don't think doing an IUD for less than a year makes sense at all. We are just going to PnP if we ever get back to DTD That's what we've always done. I don't do well with hormonal bp so I haven't used the pill in years.
My hair loss has also slowed. Thank god. I don't think our drains could take it much longer!
ETA: I don't actually know what is involved in putting in the IUD but my assumption is that it requires a procedure. If it is only going to be a few months, that doesn't seem worth it but I 've never had one so I don't speak from experience.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Oh yikes!!! Sorry to hear about K's horrible sleep! Did you try giving her anything for it? Sometimes when Xander's inconsolable like that, I end up giving him some infant Tylenol to see if that helps (and it usually does).
And I have no advice about the IUD. I want all the March Mommas to get pregnant and have babies with me (although don't no one get preggers before me, okay??)! What about doing something else instead of an IUD? Like the mini pill?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: The IUD is super easy. It took a total of 10 mins, maybe. For me it is worth it, insurance covered the whole thing, no worrying about getting pregnant till we are ready. And my doctor said just call when I want it taken out and we can start trying right away.
@Adira: I have my fingers crossed you get preggers first!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: Do you have a hormonal iud or a copper one?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: I have Mirena, so hormone. It was recommended over the other choices by my doctor.

@Smurfette: I hear you on no energy for sex. By the time night rolls around we are both so tired we want to fall into bed and sleep.
@travellingbee: One wake up is great! We are consistently at two, which I am ok with for the time being.
@shopaholic: Poor thing, I hope those teeth pop through soon so you can both have a better nights sleep.

R spit up so much today. She went through 6 outfits. Just spit up a lot all over the floors. She didn't nap good and is so tired, I am putting her to bed.
I just want to figure out why some days the spit up is so bad. Breaks my heart.

@Smurfette: aw poor girl I've noticed that A spits up a TON when he's tired. It like his esophagus just gets lazy , haha
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: @Adira: @travellingbee: Thanks. Ugh. She's been SO fussy today too. I did give her Motrin last night after the 2nd time she woke up wailing. I had to give her some this afternoon, she was screaming. How long does this last?
About the IUD - I was planning to have it in for a year, take it out, let the body readjust and whatever happens happens. But K is already 7 months now, so that means, there is only 5 more months of the IUD according to my original plan. AND, I don't want to give DH an excuse NOT to start TTC when I feel ready again. I think if it just happens naturally, he would be fine, vs. waiting to be mentally ready. You know what I mean?
@ALV91711: Thanks. I'm actually in no rush for the teeth, but the fussiness is killing me.
@Smurfette: Sucks about R spitting up so much. I'm so used to it now, it's kind of sad. People are like, whoa - she spit up all over your arm, hair, and pants, and I'm like "Oh, really? haha." I always wait to change her in the morning until she's spit up twice. lol.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: You would think that I would be use to it by now after 7 months. It was just so bad today. And yesterday was so much better. It just breaks my heart.
I am worried she isn't gaining weight cause she is spitting up so much.
Sorry you had another rough day with K. I hope tonight is better!

Xander's turning into a foody!!! He just ate 2.5oz of carrots!!!
apricot / 338 posts
@Adira: Go Xander!! Oh and can I book you as J's babysitter for my upcoming wedding anniversary?
Today my DH bought baby food for the next few days and its all some fruit combos and the only 2 veggies are carrots and sweet potatoes!! I said I would have gotten spinach, green beans and peas, apparently I am a mean mom! But seriously I love veggies and fruits I don't discriminate!
@Smurfette: Oh sorry you and LO are having tough time. Is spit up related to teething?
@shopaholic: Oh no so sorry about the rough night maybe you can check with pedi for some tylenol? I have given LO tylenol when he appears to be in pain and it has helped him relax and fall asleep.
@travellingbee: thanks for post I have to check into estrogen. Aww love those baby sounds!! gosh they are so cute!!!
Latest one is LO is making squeaking sounds I was asking who is moving furniture and DH goes its LO making noise!
About hair falling I think mine started around 4 months and stopped around 5 months. My hair never really grew much during pg, so I guess didn't fall out much either. Glad everyone's hair is getting back to normal and folks are ready for #2!! I am rooting for you guys and @Adira first!!

@silver1: When I went shopping for baby food I didn't see any that were spinach, or had spinach in them. I would have definitely bought some. Isaac loves his veggies. I usually do fruit for lunch and veggies for dinner.
@Adira: Go Xander!! That is awesome that he is eating so much more.
I'm kind of scared for our night. Isaac was in bed at 7 tonight. About 30-45min early. I'm sure it means and early start to tomorrow.
I need some sleep, house buying is stressful and add to that we need to arrange daycare it is just too much. My house just seems to be a disaster and since I'm the one at home right now I have to deal with all the paperwork, emails and phone calls for these two things. I can't wait until a couple weeks when we close on this house (fingers crossed) and we have daycare.
Add to that DH has been working pretty much 7 days a week. But he is awesome and makes dinner almost every night and even comes home the odd day at lunch and cooks us lunch. I'm hoping he takes this weekend off, I want to go for a pedicure.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@silver1: Sure, I'll babysit J!
@ALV91711: How did your night end up going? I used to be worried when Xander went to bed early that it meant he'd wake up early, but it usually doesn't! He usually goes to bed early because his naps weren't great for the day, so I think he makes up for it at night. I hope Isaac is the same for you!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: the night went pretty good. He woke up at about 10:30 and fussed/cried for about 20 min. He is only right now on his second wake up. I just hope he sleeps some more, I'm not ready to get up.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@silver1: I think the increase is related to teething.
@ALV91711: I hope you get more sleep. House buying is stressful. It was hard enough when I was 35 weeks pregnant and moving. I can't imagine it with a baby.
R kept waking up all night, and would let out a cry and then go back to sleep. She must have been uncomfortable cause she moved all over the crib as well. But at least she put herself back to sleep. I can see the tooth, it is about to pop through. I semi felt it this morning. Poor thing it just looks like it hurts. I brought 6 outfits to day care today, so hopefully she doesn't go through them all!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: He went to sleep for another hour!
@Smurfette: Poor thing, I hope that tooth pops through. I always feel so bad when you know they are in pain and there really isn't anything you can do. I hope she doesn't go through all those outfits today!
bananas / 9973 posts
@silver1: Thanks. That WAS with the Motrin. I'm holding out tonight because I feel bad medicating her every day. We'll see. She's already woken up once.
@ALV91711: House-buying IS stressful. Hope things close and you move in soon! A pedicure sounds amazing.
I think I'm falling leaps and bounds backwards in the sleep department. Nap training is stressful. This whole week has been crap sleep at night. DH is at a football game tonight, not that he can settle K at all. She's already woken up once, 30 min. after putting her down early. I can actually see the white tooth, a big thing of white, vs. just the points. AND I have been trying to prep the house for my sister's baby shower on Saturday and my ILs are coming to stay the weekend tomorrow. I don't care anymore if the house looks like a mess. I'm living on 30 min. increments of sleep from the baby. Is this what a sleep regression is or is it just teething?

@ALV91711: We are still in the process of searching for our new house but I hear ya on the stresses of doing it with a new baby. I've basically sent applications out to every daycare in the county so that when we do find a house, Pete will be enrolled in childcare. Plus all the mortgage/buying paperwork, plus the packing.... eek! So much! Just hang in there- you'll be settled soon and it will all be worth it!
@Smurfette: How did R do with spit up yesterday?
@shopaholic: Sorry that K's sleep is so rough this week. I hope last night was better. You are so sweet to throw a shower for your sis! I'm sure it will be adorable and fun, even if the house isn't perfect.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@shopaholic: Hugs Mom!! This too shall pass.
@QueensBee: It was better, she came home in her 3rd outfit of the day. Then only spit up once for me before bed. And luckily it missed her pj's I had just put on her. This is when I am glad our whole house is hardwoods or tile.

@ALV91711: Hear ya on the stress of house buying but it is for something good and you will be in your new home soon good luck with closing!
@shopaholic: Ugh sorry I missed reading your earlier post about motrin. Hang in there!! That is so sweet you are throwing shower your sis is lucky!!
J just cut his first tooth!! he has been fussy past few days and been waking up at night. He puts himself back to sleep after a few minutes but that wakes me up and I have hard time falling back asleep. I am so glad its Fri night and no work tomorrow!

@silver1: that is awesome that his tooth came through!
@Adira: Ouch!! Isaac bit me yesterday and it hurt so bad! I stopped the nursing session and let him try again later.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: @ALV91711: I had NO idea how painful it would be!!! But I just stopped and had him switch sides and he didn't bite me again, thankfully. But now I'm nervous to feed him again!

@Adira: those little teeth are sharp! Hope he doesn't do it again. Isaac gave me a big smile after like it was funny, little brat.

And he bit again! So painful. I really hope he doesn't keep this up. I told DH he has to start giving him bottles since he won't take them from me. I have a few bottles worth of pumped milk in the freezer he can start with.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Oh no!!!! I'm sorry you keep getting bitten!! So far Xander's only bit me that one time this morning, but I'm so scared he'll do it again! I hope Isaac stops soon!

Poor baby woke up screaming his head off and crying big fat tears. He took forever to calm down enough to eat. So sad.
I wonder if it was a bad dream or something...
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Did he sleep ok the rest of the night?
R woke up at 415 for the 3rd morning. She talks to herself for an hour, sleeps 30 mins, and then is up. So while I don't have to get up till 6, I am up at 430, making she she isn't crying, and sort of sleep when she does.
I wonder of her 4th tooth is coming in. 3rd broke through the gum. But 4 times last night she cried out in her sleep
