March Mamas & Babies: 1/3 Done!

Ah! It's 3:30 pm and I'm still trying to finish my lunch. K had her 2nd 25 min nap. I spent 1/2 hr trying to feed her some carrots and cereal. She spit up again during the cereal feeding.

What to do? What to do? Mama is tired.

Re: The carseat. Ours goes up to 22lbs or 29". K was less than 15.5 lbs and still about 26.5" last week. So I'm thinking she'll outgrow height before weight, maybe. Then again, I feel like she's slowed down with the height growing.

@travellingbee: Boo on the ear infection.

@Mrs. Blue: What an amazing weekend that sounds like! I'm jealous! I'm trying to get K to say mama all day/night!

@shopaholic: We held him the first few times by his hand/shoulder mainly because we were a bit scared. His head is above the back rest so he can't hit his head. Also I rock him gentle so his body doesn't move much inside the swing.
@ALV91711: It is getting cold here too that but we take him out in afternoon when it warms up a bit. (pic taken in sept when it was still summer).
@Mrs. Blue: Sounds like an amazing weekend! Your LOs look so adorable and so cool they said Mama in front of everyone!!!
@travellingbee: Oh sorry hope he feels better soon!
Re the carseat we have the chicco which goes upto 30" and 30 pounds. I love the carseat we take it out in stroller for walks and drives and he falls asleep in it. I am looking into the combi covertible I read in carseat lady site you can get a stroller frame so you can take the car seat out and put into the stroller (very useful in city where we take cabs). I didn't remember seeing a handle on carseat so not sure of mechanics taking it out with baby in it.

@Mrs. Blue: Your weekend sounds amazing! "Mama!!" So wonderful! Love the pics of them too. They are beyond adorable.

@shopaholic: @smurfette: How can we convince these babies that the NoseFrieda is a good thing? My friend has a 16 month old who actually lays down excitedly when he sees her take it out. It's like he knows that it is going to make his nose feel better!

@travellingbee: I hope the new antibiotics work soon. Poor baby and poor mama! You both need some relief!

ETA Re: the car seat topic
We have the Graco Snugride Classic Connect with can go up to 22lbs and 29 inches. P is only 16.5 lbs and 25 inches, so I imagine that we can use it for a few more months. However, he absolutely never stays asleep if we try to move him to the stroller with carseat adapter, so I've given up on it. Like his daycare teacher says, "He sleeps like a bird!" and wakes up as soon as the car stops. Boo!

@QueensBee: So cute. I love his jacket!

@shopaholic: That is a late lunch. Is she just a slow food eater or is she not very interested so it takes a while?

@shopaholic: Aww I hope you both were able to relax a bit this afternoon. Did you have any success with nap #3? I don't think I could wait until 3:30pm for lunch. I get hangry around noon!

@Smurfette: @ALV91711: Haha, umm I think it was 68 degrees out at that time. Totally overbundled in that coat! Yes, crazy mom alert here!

On the flip side, DH took Pete to daycare this morning (we live in the city so he walks there and carries him in the Ergo carrier). He put P in his blue coat, pumpkin hat, but forgot to put socks on him! It was like 59 degrees this morning! Sighhh. Daycare was like, "Baby needs socks!!" to me when I picked him up. Ahhh, husbands!

@QueensBee: 68 seems cold enough to me to be bundled up! Ah - no socks - my DH would totally do that. Love that pic!

@shopaholic: Sounds like your car seat is like mine! Also, I think I read somewhere that after 6 months, they stop growing as fast! So the seat might still last you a while!

@QueensBee: OMG, Pete is so cute in the swing!!! Gahhh!!! I want to take Xander to go on a swing set!

My husband is the same way with regards to bundling baby! I put Xander's jacket in his car seat so that Hubs will put it on him in the morning and he NEVER DOES! It's like 50 degrees out!!! Poor baby!

  13. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Mine would be the same way. He is like she is fine. Meanwhile this morning, she had on jeans, long sleeves, socks, and I put a jacket on her before we left. And it was only low 60's this morning. But I will say she looked so cute in her BG jean jacket.

  14. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Yeah, Hubs is all "He's only outside for 10 seconds" but I'm thinking "What about the 15 minutes in the car???" I'm thinking of making Hubs keep a blanket in the car so he can just use that instead since he won't put his jacket on him!

Awww, that jean jacket sounds cute! Did you get a pic of it?

  15. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I keep a blanket in the car for just in case too.

No picture:( I forgot my phone in the car. Her teacher was like OMG, R you are too cute when we walked in. I totally missed our exit this morning, so I was running late, so I didn't have time to go back out. I will have to get one tomorrow morning. Starting to cool down here. Love it!

@Adira: A blanket in the car is definitely a good idea! I have them everywhere!

Pete totally has me stumped. He hardly napped at daycare yesterday so I expected him to be a tired grouch in the afternoon. Nope- he was happy and joyful and so much fun!!! Around 6pm he started to get tired so I whisked him off to bed, anticipating a great night of sleeping. Wrong again! He screamed from 6:45-7:30pm, when he finally fell asleep. Then he was awake at 12:30am screaming. I nursed him to sleep around 1:15am. Awake again at 3:40am, inconsolable. Finally fell asleep at 5:00am and woke up for the day at 7:15am. He was just so happy during the evening and so miserable all night. I don't see any new teeth coming in but maybe it was from teething? Poor little man....

  22. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@QueensBee: well since he was so tired, maybe he was too tired to sleep. Or something is in the water, cause R hasn't napped more then 45mins during the day for the last two days.

He could be working on another tooth for sure. It could be making it's way down.

  23. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@QueensBee: I suspect the crappy naps at daycare may have led to the crappy night's sleep! Even when Xander seems like he's in a good mood, if he hasn't napped well at daycare, I put him down for a nap as soon as we get home, then just food and straight back to bed! Hopefully today will go better for you both!!!

@Smurfette: So cute. I love the jacket!

@QueensBee: I hope he naps good today and sleeps better tonight.

Last night Isaac was asleep about 6:30. He got up twice (I did hear him a couple other times, but he went back to sleep quickly). He woke up at 6:15, so I thought we were up for the day. Half an hour later he nursed and slept for another hour! I liked that. We haven't even been up for an hour and he is already looking sleepy.

  25. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: maybe he is learning how awesome sleep is.

R woke up at 5 this morning, luckily she talked to herself till I got her at 6. I thought that she was going to fall back asleep cause she was just laying there, not really rolling around, playing with her blankie. I could tell she was still tired. I hope she naps today. Two days of not napping is enough for me.

@Adira: 4.5 oz! But he wouldn't have a bite of dinner, just wanted milk.

@ALV91711: Wow!!! That's a lot!!! That's funny that he just wanted milk for dinner instead of solids - guess he got his fill for the day!

@QueensBee: So cute!! love hez wearing shoes!!
@Smurfette: She is adorable love the expression!!!
@ALV91711: lo ate breakfast and a late lunch so I was just going to feed him milk for dinner. But DH was saying hez hungry so I ended up making him oatmeal and then eating most of leftovers myself. I actually find his baby food quite tasty!! Just fruits not veggie mush haha.

@ALV91711: So exciting! Congrats!! Why do you have to wait so long to move in?

  37. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: It isn't done being built yet. It is almost done, we walked through today.

  38. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: I have never heard of closing before it was finished being built. Did you get to pick the finishes?

  39. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: We only got to pick appliances. It is almost at completion and everything was ordered when we signed the contract with the builder. We like everything though as we have seen it. I never thought our first house would be a new house. Where we live there is lots of new construction and lots of the houses are purchased before they even start building, but we didn't want to wait that long.
