My hubby is wonderful. He got up with Isaac this morning so I could sleep in and he cleaned the kitchen. Great way to start Sunday.

OMG, Xander just bit my nipple and broke the skin! I'm in so much pain...

@Adira: yay for clapping!!! R isn't close to it at all. Ouch!!!!

    @ALV91711: good hubby!!!

@ALV91711: So glad your husband stepped up for you this morning!! Yay!!

@ALV91711: @Smurfette: It was QUITE painful, though I think I've recovered! Immediately when he did it, I shouted "OWWW!" followed by "No biting!" in my sternest voice. He looked surprised (probably because of the shout) and then started laughing, the little jerk!

So tonight was the last night that I nursed R for the regular/whole time. I am going to cut the time each night and then top off with a bottle. So by Sat night, I will be done. I don't want to pump at the wedding we are going too.

I started crying. I am so ready to be done but at the same time it makes me sad. I told DH I hate being the one that has to put her to sleep but I also love that I am the one that has to put her to sleep. She is just so cuddly after nursing, and so adorable when I put her in the crib and looks up at me with a big grin, and then wiggles down into the mattress.

She is just growing up SO fast. I just want to slow time down. She is taking a 3 or 4 steps when standing and holding. Slow down, baby girl. Great now, I am crying again!

@Adira: ouch!! Hope you don't get an infection.

@Mrs. High Heels: OMG, I didn't even think of that!!! I hope I don't either!!

@Smurfette: Awww, they grow up so fast!!! And I know what you mean about it sucking that you HAVE to be the one to do certain things, but also that it's nice! But it's going to be sooooo nice not to have to pump at that wedding you are going to! I missed out on sooooo much stuff at the wedding I went to because I kept having to leave to go pump. It sucked!

@Smurfette: I love this picture of his cute little teeth except I'm soooooo mad at my crappy camera abilities! Why is only one eye in focus??? Gahhh!!!! Must learn how to use my camera!!!

  13. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I didn't even notice that. But I know the feeling, I rely on DH to do the settings on our camera. I really need to learn it better. And take more pictures with it during the week, instead of the iphone.

  14. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: haha, I'm glad you didn't notice. It's ALL I see when I look at the picture (unless I force myself to focus just on his teeth, haha). Poor Xander - he's totally camera practice for baby #2, who will have awesome pictures. Unless I have zero time to take pictures... then both babies are screwed.

@Adira: I think you posted this before, but I can't find it. What therometer do you have? I am sick of fighting with R over the rectal one. Sunday she felt warm and was being so fussy, it took DH and I both to be able to take it cause we both had to hold her down. I can't do it myself when he is gone. I want one for the forehead.

  16. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I don't have a forehead one, but I've heard those are AMAZING. I have the Braun ear one.

@Smurfette: How could you tell that R was working on her top teeth??

I'm wondering if maybe Xander is teething, though I have no idea. Last night around midnight, he woke up SCREAMING!!! I went and got him and rocked him and shushed him but he just kept crying and crying! I checked his diaper, but it didn't need a change, so I finally just give him some Tylenol and held him some more, rubbing his belly, and he finally calmed down enough to go back to sleep (I guess the Tylenol worked maybe?). I have no idea what was wrong!!

And in other news, Xander seems to be trying so hard to crawl or something, but he just fails miserably, haha. He can now get his knees under him, but he doesn't lift his chest off the ground, so he just flails about like a fish out of water!

@Adira: Is your thermoscan accurate? The one we have is all over the place for temperatures. Makes it very frustrating since it isn't cheap. Thinking about getting the forehead thermometer - Actually I don't care what type it is (besides rectal), as long as it is accurate!

  19. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@sheskrafty: I think it's accurate when I use it correctly! But getting it at the right angle in Xander's ear isn't always easy!!!

@Adira: Honestly, when we saw the huge white spot on her gum. Like her gum was white, it was so big. Then her spit up increased, naps went to crap, and she would cry out in her sleep.

Last night she woke up numerous times, not crying, but more like moaning in her sleep, moved all over the crib. Poor thing. Wondering if it still the top two moving down still or is she working on more. I didn't feel anything on Sunday when I checked.

Do you see white spots? Feel anything? If he is learning to crawl that could be messing up his sleep as well.

  21. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I don't really see anything or feel anything, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for! I didn't notice when his bottom teeth were coming in either until the pediatrician said she could feel bumps! Then I was like "Oh, uh, are those bumps? Okay..."

Who knows what's going on with our babies!! I hope they all feel better soon.

  22. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I know!! At least day care has to deal with fussy pants today.
I never see bumps. Heck her bottom teeth, I didn't know she was teething till one broke through.

  23. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: haha, yeah, I couldn't feel anything in Xander's mouth and then one day there were teeth there!! And some days I'm glad he's going to daycare and they have to deal with him, haha.

@ALV91711: Congrats on the house! So much fun and so rewarding, but can be stressful too!

@Smurfette: Wow! Her 4th tooth?! K's seem to be under the gums forever. I keep seeing new white tips, but the bottom 2 teeth are just taking their time.
Awww.... sorry to hear about the nursing journey ending. I imagine it must be so bittersweet.

@Adira: Clapping?! Oh you need to video that! So cute!
Sounds like teething! We've had those kinds of nights on & off for over 2 weeks now! We give Motrin sometimes, but I hate the eeling that we're giving her medicine all the time just thinking she's teething. But it definitely helps with her sleep the nights we do.

DH and I went out Sat. night after putting K to sleep. It was the first time anyone other than my ILs have watched K at night. My sister and BIL slept over. She stayed asleep until about 3:00 am - 1/2 hour before we got home because we were stuck in a freeway closure. grrr. They said she was crying and so upset when BIL was holding her. Then she thought my sister was me, so stopped for awhile until she realized she wasn't me. lol. Wouldn't take a bottle from them. The totally busted into a HUGE SMILE and squeals when she saw me. Ahhh.. melted. She needs and wants her mama only. Tough that I'm the only one that can comfort her at night, but I can't help loving it too. Only got 3.5 hours of sleep though. I think I was delirious by bedtime!

Took K to the pumpkin patch for the first time yesterday and I posted a ton of pics on IG already, so I won't double post here. But it was a lot of fun. Holidays are just so much more fun and special now with our little ones! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Have you nursing moms noticed that your babies have gotten pretty efficient at nursing these days? Xander used to take 15-20 minutes a SIDE (and I always nurse both sides), but lately it's more like 3-5 minutes a side! It's over so quickly now!!!

  27. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: R will still nurse as long as I will let her. I still take her off the boob. We were at a friends on Saturday, and her 3 week old just popped off when done, after like 10 mins on each side. I was so jealous! R never has done that.

  28. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@shopaholic: Okay, I'll try to catch it on video for you all!

And I know what you mean about the meds! I feel weird giving Xander Tylenol when I don't really know if he NEEDS it, but it does seem to help, so I guess whatever works, right?

Oh my gosh, that's so funny that K thought your sister was your for a little bit! But sad when she realized it wasn't!!! But YES! Don't you just love how much they love us??? It's probably harder for you because K is used to be with you practically 24/7 so she probably wants YOU more. Xander's a little easier to soothe because he's used to other people doing it at daycare. But I kind of love it when I'm the only one that can calm him down!!!

And I LOVED the pics of K at the pumpkin patch! It makes me wish we did that this year, but we were lazy, haha!

@shopaholic: I hope you see some teething relief soon! I still can't believe R has 4 teeth already too.

At least K woke up just 30 mins before y'all got there. I am impressed you were able to stay out so late! I am not sure I could do it. She was too cute at the pumpkin patch!

  30. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Wow, really?? Never?? If Xander's sleepy, he'll stay on forever (just this weekend he refused to take a nap so ended up on my boob for an hour since I was letting him sleep on it)! But if he's awake, he's very distracted and won't stay on the boob long!

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Adira: You still have time to take him! Last week I had a cute "pumpkin patch" pic I posted, that was taken at Whole Foods (supermarket)! lol! My sister noticed they had an area dedicated just for LOs to take "pumpkin patch pics".

Oh, and K has been doing 3-5 min. sessions for a couple of months at least. I think it makes my supply drop. I try to make sure she at least does 5 min. now, since I read anything less than 5 min. is considered short and can make your supply decrease.

  32. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@shopaholic: Hmm... maybe I'll have time this weekend! I'll have to find somewhere to go though. The only pumpkin patch I know of costs money to get into, but I'm assuming there's other options that are free (or at least cheaper...)!

  33. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I agree! Go this weekend. We didn't do a big pumpkin patch this year. Just went to a local church and took some pictures. Although she didn't smile for any. Despite going an hour and half after a nap. She was falling asleep sitting up.

And yep, she never pops off. The sucking is comforting to her I guess, but she won't take a pacifier. Still, I tried one the other day to see what she would do. She sucked on it for a couples mins and then took it out and started banging it the coffee table.

  34. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@shopaholic: I'm super paranoid about my supply so now I pump after every nursing session!!! Ever since Xander started only nursing for ~5 minutes, I felt like he just wasn't emptying them, so now I pump!!! Such a pain in the butt, but since my weekday pumps still are only just barely covering his daycare needs, I'm glad I do it! Otherwise I'm guessing my supply would dip!

Of course.. then maybe AF would show back up and I could get started TTCing for #2... so there's no winning here...

  35. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Adira: Oh really? I think most of the places around here are free to go in and you just pay for the pumpkin by weight. Of course, you get suckered into buying at least one. But the prices were pretty comparable to the markets.

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: haha, that's funny about the pacifier! Xander plays with his pacifier too, so that's probably normal! It took him a long time to figure out how to put it in his mouth too, but now he's an old pro. We just leave it in his crib and he finds it and uses it all on his own!

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

Okay, another question! Now that many of us have our first LO - what are you all getting your parents (their grandparents) for Christmas? Are you doing anything LO-related for them?? I need ideas!

  38. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: We have R's 8 month pictures next week, so a print will be part of their gift. Then my family has a tradition where the kids make a gift for each family. So we are going to make ornaments and will include for DH's family as well. DH and I are going to put her hand-print on a glass ornament and then I will finish them, so they look like this.

@Smurfette: What a cute idea!! I should do something crafty like that...

@Adira: I am going to attempt it in the next couple week so I have time to finish them up. I have 17 to make!
