@Smurfette: Yes, luckily he slept just fine the rest of the night! I have no idea what woke him up so upset before!

I can't believe R's already working on her top teeth! Though hopefully it comes through soon and she's able to sleep well again!

@Smurfette: That is an early morning. I can't believe she is working on tooth 4!

@Adira: I'm glad that the rest of his night was good.

Last night was weird, I woke up a few minutes before 2am and then a couple minutes later Isaac woke up. But at least he didn't wake up until 2!

Today Isaac scooched forward on his butt to get at what he wanted. I didn't see him do it but he was trying to get at the edge of his play area and couldn't reach. A couple minutes later and he was there. We have those foam squares and he likes to pull the edges off.

I wonder if he is going to get around on his butt before crawling?

@ALV91711: Haha, that image made me chuckle!

R took a couple steps this weekend with her walker. But really likes just standing. She loves to crawl around the coffee table over and over. We love to hide and "jump" out so she can find us. She smiles so big! Cause apparently it is too much work for her to laugh. She is loving climbing up and over people when they lay on the floor.

Of course girlfriend was still asleep this morning at 620, so I had to wake her. Why couldn't she do that over the weekend??

@Adira: @ALV91711: Eeek, I Pete was playfully biting my finger yesterday and those two little teeth hurt! I cannot imagine it on my boob!

@Smurfette: I should try the coffee table hide and seek game with Pete. He would probably enjoy it too! Haha, classic that she decided to sleep in on Monday. And I love when you call her girlfriend!

Pete's sleep is still crummy due to the never-ending headcold. He has boogers oozing from his nose 24/7. He absolutely hates is when I try to wipe them away and he screams bloody murder when he spots the NoseFrieda. It's going to be a long winter!

Today we tried out the baby swing in the playground for the first time. I needed to add some blankets to the seat for more cushioning and support because he is still a bit small for it. At first, he didn't know what to make of it but after a few minutes of swinging, he was all smiles and laughs. I kneeled on the ground in front of the swing and gave him a kiss on the nose each time he swung forward to me... that was a big hit!

He's also really really been enjoying our weekend outings. He gets so cranky and whiney when we're in the house. However, as soon as we leave for an adventure in the city, he is all smiles in his stroller or Ergo for the entire time. We were out and about for 4-5 hours on both Saturday and Sunday and he didn't fuss once. I get terrible cabin fever if I'm stuck inside, while my husband could happy watch tv and read on the couch all day, so I suppose he is starting to take after me!

@QueensBee: Yeah, not sure where the girlfriend came from. But I call her that all the time.

She HATES the nose frieda too! Last night before bed, I was trying to do it on the changing pad/dresser. And she was moving so much, even with me holding her, she flipped herself over. So I will be doing it on the floor from now on. You are right, going to be a long winter.

So cute about the swings!! We haven't taken R yet. I thought that she would be too small, but maybe we should try with the blankets. Funny how fresh air, really calms then down.

@Adira: @ALV91711: Ouch!! sorry those little teeth are sharp!
@Smurfette: @QueensBee: J loves the swing in playground. We have been taking him out a few weeks now. I put blanket so he is comfortable but initially I was worried he'd slip thru the hole!
I can't imagine taking the nosefrieda anywhere near my little man. We tried it once and it has been retired!!

@ALV91711: Aww! K scooches sometimes, but lately it's like she's on all fours, going to crawl, and then decides it's easier to flip onto her back. I have SO many unsuccessful videos!

@Smurfette: Man, that lil R is just raring to go! K looooves hide and seek too!

@QueensBee: I feel your pain on the congestion and trying to clear it out for the baby! K won't let me go near her nose anymore with anything! Wow on the swing! I hadn't even thought of that yet! And yay for going out for so long! I feel like we are going backwards these days - I have to get home for K to nap and she's started to get cranky when we're out and she's tired. She used to just fall asleep while we were out and about. I love being out, but feel kind of house-locked-down nowadays.

@silver1: SO cute! Ok, I'll have to try the swing. but did you keep your hand on the seat/him at all times? I'm scared K would flop her head all around!

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@silver1: OMG, he's adorable!!! And now I want to take Xander to the park to go on a swing!!

@ALV91711: That's so cool that Isaac scooted on his butt! My best friend's daughter did that before crawling - it was cute!

@Smurfette: Xander was the same way - all weekend he'd wake up around 5:00 to eat (or earlier) and then today when I actually have to go to work, he sleeps in! The little jerk!

@QueensBee: Aww, sorry to hear about Pete's nose!!! I've given up on trying to suck booger's out of Xander's and he HATES it when I wipe his nose, but oh well!

So it only took 7.5 months, but Xander has FINALLY mastered rolling both ways!!! This morning was funny - I had his A&A blanket hanging over the side of the crib by Xander's feet, so he rolled around in his crib until he was on his stomach facing the blanket. He reached for it, but couldn't reach it, so he flipped to his back, scooted up to that end of the crib, rolled back to his belly, and grabbed the blanket! So resourceful!

    @Adira: Go Xander!!

  12. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @Smurfette: He's only what? 4 months behind R? So maybe when he's 11 months he'll start crawling!

  13. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Yeah but R never just rolled around on the ground. She would roll over to her belly but rarely would roll to her back. She pretty much went straight trying to crawl. She is nuts. It is so cute seeing her crawl around though cause she is still so little.

I brought yogurt for breakfast for R. Her teacher started feeding her right away, so I could see. She loved it! I bought the YoBaby Banana. So we are officially are on 3 meals.

  14. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: OMG, you're on three meals??? Xander barely gets one and I'm not consistent about giving it to him!!!! Gahhh!!!! So behind other March babies!!!

Glad to hear she enjoyed the yogurt though!!! YUM! She has good taste!

Have you introduced proteins (like eggs or meats) yet?

  15. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Her teacher said that she wants more after the one container at lunch time. She is a bottomless pit. But still is small. Still fits in 6 months clothes. I don't know where it all goes!

No proteins yet. I am going to buy some meat purees next time I buy some. She doesn't really have any interest in feeding herself yet. But at least the purees will get her use to the taste.

  16. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Okay, good! I was wondering if I should be feeding Xander proteins yet (and we've barely scratched a dent in fruits/veggies) so I'm glad to hear R hasn't started on them yet either!

How much does R usually eat at dinner?

  17. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: a 2.5 or 3.5 oz container. Sunday night she ate 2 2.5ozs. Then I give her a couple puffs to work on picking them up but the usually end up on the floor.

  18. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: OMG, Xander's so behind, haha. Oh well - he can stay my little baby for as long as he wants!

  19. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @Adira: He isn't behind!!!

Be glad that he isn't mobile. R never stops moving now. I miss snuggles.

  20. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I am glad he's not mobile!! We haven't had to baby proof yet!

  21. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: Wow, I can't believe you are on three meals now. She must be so hungry from all the moving around.

@Adira: That is so cute that he rolled around until he could get his blanket. We are still on two meals, but he rarely eats anything at dinner and it takes three lunches to eat a whole jar of baby food. I wouldn't worry too much about only doing one meal.

@shopaholic: It is good that she is taking naps, but that must be hard to have to be home for her to have them.

@silver1: So cute in the swing. We haven't tried that, but it is kind of cold already to be going to the park.

@QueensBee: That is awesome that you can be out so much on the weekends and he is happy.

Yesterday we put the convertible car seat in my car. I can't believe it. I guess no more going out to do errands to get him to nap.

  22. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Oh good!!! I'm glad Xander's not the only one who doesn't eat a lot!

I can't believe you installed the convertible already!!! I just ordered ours, but I'm not sure I'm ready to install it yet, haha.

@ALV91711: What seat did you get? We are still researching and deciding.......

  24. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: Our infant seat only goes to 20lbs and he is almost there. Also it is better to get my hubby to do it before it starts snowing and gets really cold!

  25. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Smurfette: We got an Eddie Bauer seat. This one here: http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=12428388&gclid=COySy7qAmboCFY97QgodywYAuw&cagpspn=plab_11867076&KPID=11867076&overrideStore=TRUSCA&CAWELAID=1624591015.

We got it because it was a good deal, also it is what we had for an infant seat and stroller and we are happy with them. It does seem kind of big though. We will have to get a seat for DH's truck, but I don't know what we will get yet.

  26. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

    @ALV91711: It looks so big!

I can't imagine R in any of them!

  27. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: Oh, hmm... I wonder what weight ours goes to! I was actually thinking we'll have to switch to a convertible soon because of height though - ours goes to 29" and Xander was 27" (probably actually taller) at 6 months.

  28. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: We have Graco and it goes to 32" and 35lbs. So we have a while before we have to switch.

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Just checked - my Safety 1st goes to 29" and 22 lbs! Xander's probably not close to the 22 lb limit (last checked he was only 16 lbs), but he's close to the height limit!

  30. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: weird that the Graco is so much higher for weight.

  31. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I think Safety 1st also has the OnBoard 35 which goes to 35 lbs and 32"! But I went with the Comfy Carry Elite Plus instead because it was rated better with Consumer Reports. I'm not sure why I didn't take into account the higher height limit - it could've lasted us so much longer than what we have! Although I'm already sick of lugging Xander around in the carrier (him + carrier = HEAVY), so I guess it doesn't really matter that much!

  32. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I think as FTP you don't think about growing out of the infant seat so much. I am starting to just leave the seat in the car and just carry R. It is getting too heavy otherwise. But it is nice when she falls asleep to just move the car seat to the stroller instead of waking her up if we are out. Going to miss that when move to convertible.

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Yeah, same here! I tend to just take him out of the seat and carry him to and from places because the whole thing is heavy. But it is nice that when he falls asleep in it, I can just carry the whole thing wherever without waking him up! Plus it was nice that we only needed ONE seat and two bases for daycare drop off/pick up. Now we'll need two seats. But at least we won't have to leave anything at daycare anymore AND we got a sweet deal on the seats at Kohl's, thanks to you!

Here's our update: We've had a rough weekend sleep-wise. L still has an ear infection and has been put on a different antibiotic. However, he is still waking up every hour or two during the night. Exhausting!
He is crawling like crazy, even though he doesn't get his stomach off of the ground. He can get everywhere very quickly with his funny little commando crawl. He's also started to do a little bit of babbling. He says buh-buh. Which is funny because we call him Bubba sometimes. He's still eating tons- 4 ounce solids plus an ounce of breast milk and oatmeal at each feeding!! I want to try some BLW stuff since he's doing well with the baby mum-mums now.
@silver1: L loves the swing too. So cute!
@Adira: Yay! But watch out because that means now he's mobile!
Eta: I guess my page didn't refresh and I missed this whole conversation about this car seats. Ours goes up to 35 pounds and 32 inches. L is only 19 1/2 pounds and 28 1/2 inches so we have a while.

@Smurfette: Their sleep is much better, minus that they are having so many dirty diapers at night, which is waking them up. I have zero idea what the problem is because it's been going on for a month-ish. I think if I could figure out that little problem they would be sttn consistently. Thanks for asking!

We had a big weekend this weekend. We went to see my parents. The boys rode a horse for the first time. ELLIOT SAID MAMA!!!!!!!!!!! Multiple times. In front of witnesses. It was the coolest thing ever. Then my parents kept the boys overnight and we had about 20 baby-free hours. We had such a good time, but I was definitely ready to see those lil' munchkins again! Oh, and I got to meet my new soon-to-be adopted nephew!

Here are some pics from our weekend:

@travellingbee: Poor guy! I hope he starts feeling better soon. It seems like he has been sick for so long. It hasn't affected his appetite, I see. He is an eater like R!

@Mrs. Blue: What solids are they eating at night? Could that be it?
That is SO awesome he said Mama!!!! They are so cute!!
That has to be the greatest and I can't wait for it. 20 hours free, glorious! My parents are babysitting in 3 weeks so we can go out for our anniversary. I am so looking forward to it but at the same time, I am not. First time leaving her overnight. I know I am going to miss her so much.

@Mrs. Blue: Oh yes! DH and I are using points to stay in a hotel, so we feel like we are getting away. My parents are watching R at their house. We are planning on cabbing it to and from dinner! We want to enjoy ourselves!
