@Smurfette:
Pete nurses first thing in the morning and then has a 4-5 ounce bottle around 7:30am. He usually drink 15-18 ounces at daycare between 8am-4pm. He usually nurses again after daycare and drinks a 5 ounce bottle before bed. He wakes up at least once a night for a bottle or to nurse right now.
We use both size 1 and 2 nipples depending on what's clean and it doesn't appear that he notices a difference.

Update from yesterday:
Pete actually had an okay night of sleep! I gave him some ibuprofen and he slept from 6pm-3:30am straight! Then he was awake from 3:30-5:00am, but he wasn't screaming, he just couldn't get back to sleep. Finally he fell asleep and then slept until 7am. He woke up very happy in his crib, babbling away! His cheeks are still slightly pink but no sign of a fever. We sent him to daycare and they are keeping a close eye on him.
Overall, not too bad!!

@QueensBee: Glad to hear that Pete slept reasonably well and seemed in a good mood this morning!!

We're still EBF'ing. Usually nursing between 2-3 hours. Although it varies since I still nurse to nap. Average wake-up 1x a time to nurse after ~ 7 hours.
I'm guessing most nursing sessions she is only getting 3-4 oz on a side. (I can't even pump 3 oz. anymore). I can only get her to nurse on both sides about 1/2 the time these days. I guess she is a snacker!

@QueensBee: Yay! That's great!
@Smurfette: I fed K a Cheerio last night. She played with them, but the only one she ate was the one I stuck on her tongue. Then she seemed to be choking, but I couldn't find it to dig it out. I gave her water. I also gave her a puff and a Plum Little Creme thing. She seemed indifferent to eating them. But liked playing with everything.

@shopaholic: haha, R acts like she is gagging too when I put a cheerio in her mouth. When I can clearly see it is on her tongue.

So my pumping output wasn't as good as normal. Is it strange that instead of being stressed/bummed, I'm hoping it means AF is coming??
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: haha, of course, if I'm not able to get my 15oz I need for tomorrow, I WILL start to get stressed!

OMG!! Tooth 5 is about to break through and I see a huge white spot for 6.
I hope this explains the insane amount of spit up the last three days.

@shopaholic: As requested, video of Xander clapping: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/xander-clapping-video

@Smurfette: You have GOT to get a picture once she has SIX teeth!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I will. She wouldn't let me touch her mouth tonight. I looked last night and didn't see anything. Her teacher said something when I picked her up, I was like what? Then she gave me a big smile and I saw the one. Poor thing.

@Smurfette: She just doesn't want to stay a baby, does she?? She's working on tooth #6, is crawling and standing and starting to cruise, and you're weaning! She's going to be a toddler so soon!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: That is what I said to her, once I saw it. I held her up and said why don't you want to be a baby anymore? She just smiled at me.

@Adira: Ahhh that video is so cute! I just watched it three times in a row! Pete is nowhere near clapping. It's so funny how they are all so different!
@Smurfette: Ohmygosh six teeth?! What a champ! She's going to be chewing steak by the end of the month! Hope these ones don't bother her too much!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: She's like "Silly Mommy, I'm not a baby anymore!"
@QueensBee: It's definitely interesting to see what skills each baby decides to learn! Xander's clapping, but other babies are crawling!

@QueensBee: Her Daddy will be so proud when she eats her first steak.

@shopaholic: Now I need to get it in HD so I can send it to my mom! Phone quality videos just won't cut it for her, haha!

@Adira: @QueensBee: Seriously... I wonder what skills K will master soon? I mean, @Smurfette: 's baby is ready to go off to college. Mine still doesn't like to eat solids, not bothered to crawl, and won't say Mama for me. I don't mind (except the Mama thing) - I want her to stay my lil baby!

@Smurfette: I forgot to tell you! Xander actually napped at daycare yesterday!!! So I go to hang out with him AND feed him dinner! The boy loves green beans!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Awesome!! I need to try green beans again with R.
R had one hour and 15 min nap, then napped 10 mins after a bottle. Luckily she slept on the way home. We had a good night playing though, in between cleaning up spit up. I sent two sleep sacks today, cause she is spitting up on that at day care and then won't nap again without it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Xander's first reaction to the green beans was "WTF is this?" but it quickly morphed into "Gahhh!! Give me more!!!" At least, that's what I'm interpreting his facial expression and grunting to me, haha.
Oh geeze, these crazy babies! Hopefully with two sleep sacks, she'll nap better there!!

@Adira: We tried it as one of the first foods and she hated it every time. But I tried peas again and now she will eat them. I will wait till next week. The orange and green foods are a pain in the butt to get out when she spits up. She is going to have a lot of banana and applesauce this week.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: That's how Xander was with sweet potatoes - HATED them. I'm curious if he'd be into them now that he seems to actually LIKE food. And OMG, I agree about the stains! And friggin' carrots have stained the straw to our Zoli cup so it always looks dirty!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Carrots stained our high chair tray, but Chopsuey told me to rub vegetable oil on it. Then wash really good and it got it out. Maybe try that?

@Adira: Way to go on napping!
@Smurfette: I hope all these teeth come in and the spit up stops for a while.
@shopaholic: Too funny!!
This week we start touring daycares. Crazy! It makes me sad to think about going back to work, I don't know how you ladies do it. I'm hoping we find something great right away so we don't have to tour too many.

Woot woot! Pete slept from 6pm to 6am last night and I want to shout it from the rooftops! I just feel so much better knowing that he had a good night of sleep. Fingers are crossed for success again tonight...
@ALV91711: It was hard for me to start touring daycares too. I felt like no one could possibly change DS's diaper as lovingly as me! However, Pete adores his daycare teachers and I trust them completely. You are so smart to start the search early. I hope you will find one you love soon!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: Not going to lie, it is hard. Some days are much easier then others. I think the transition will be easier for you, since he will be older. Since you take him to stuff with other kids, he should transition to being around other kids good too.
@QueensBee: Woo hoo! I guess he is feeling better.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@QueensBee: Wow, what a great stretch of sleep!! Xander has never slept that long for me!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Speaking of, how long are you going to do the dream feed?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Funny you should ask - I was JUST thinking about this! I re-read The Baby Whisperer book (I had to give it back to my friend who let me borrow it) and it suggested doing the dreamfeed until 7-9 months, at which point they should be eating enough solid food to not need it anymore. So... I might actually experiment with dropping it this weekend now that he's eating lunch at daycare. Although... I'm not sure... I might wuss out because I LIKE nursing him, haha. He's so snuggly!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Oh you sent lunch! How is it going? Are you doing dinner too (nap permitting)? I think you should and see how he does without so you get the evening to DH and youself's!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Yeah, we just started this week with lunch. I think the daycare lady who I've been fighting with is THRILLED that she can finally feed him something other than a bottle, haha! She claims he seems more "content" now that he's eating solid food there, but I suspect really she's the one that's more content! But so far it's gone well - he had carrots on Monday and yesterday he had peas and apples at daycare. And both daycare ladies were really impressed he knew how to drink out of the Zoli cup!
ETA: Oh, and yes, nap permitting, we're going to do dinner too. We actually were able to do dinner yesterday so I think he got about 4 oz of food at daycare and 2.5 oz at dinner! And he still ate all his normal bottles and nursed all the same, so I'm feeling good. I think if we do drop the dreamfeed though, I'll send 6 oz bottles to make sure he's getting enough milk in the day.
