@ALV91711: Oh, I think I saw that brown cardigan! So cute!! But we actually have a brown cardigan already, which is the only reason I didn't buy it!
And I love that outfit! So cute and comfy! Love the raindeer on the butt!!!

@ALV91711: I was thinking about getting R that outfit!

I totally cried! Dad texted said she talked to them half way home and then slept. So weird running errands with just DH!

@ALV91711: Awwwe, that looks so cute and cozy. Perfect for Santa photos! Babies in stripes kill me...
@Adira: Love that outfit! And it can be worn throughout the winter, I think.
I finalllly made it to the gym today! It felt so good. Of course I celebrated by eating an enormous German lunch and a bar of chocolate...

@QueensBee: OMG, good for you going to the gym! I really need to, but haven't in so long...

@Adira: I love baby boy dressy clothes. It is so hard to not buy it all!
@Smurfette: You should get it for her. I hope you are enjoying your evening with DH.
@QueensBee: So awesome that you made it to the gym. I need to get back at it.
@Adira: The last time I went to the gym was last December, must get to it.
We are getting our first big dump of snow. Winter is really here:( Now I wish I had bought Isaac a snow suit so we could go out in it tomorrow. Guess we will have to have another shopping trip next week.

Aloha Mamas! I typed a big, long reply on my phone last night and it got deleted somehow before I could submit and too tired to write all over again.
Happy Anniversary @Smurfette:! And love the Twinkle theme - it was the same theme for our Baby Shower! Sometimes I wish I could do the same theme over again for her birthday!
I have been mentally stressing about 1st birthday party locations because of the size and really unpredictable weather here at that time of year. The week she was born we enjoyed desserts at an outdoor cafe in tank tops and then brought her home on a cold, rainy day. Also not sure who & the number of people to invite. It could easily get to be too crazy.
I'm @shopaholicviv on IG! I think I follow most of you? I love seeing HB babies on IG!
@QueensBee: Love the party pants tradition!
So I K's gum finally split a couple days ago. Tonight I could feel the razor sharp tooth. I'm guessing we'll see one start to come up this week.

@shopaholic: That is exciting that you can feel a tooth! Hope you are having a great trip.

Gahh, I feel like our babies aren't going to be babies for much longer! I went searching for 12month sleepers for Xander and I couldn't really find any!!! They just go up to 9month it seems or have a very small selection for larger sizes! So sad!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I just bought Isaac some 12-18 month sized sleepers yesterday. So crazy!

@shopaholic: Aloha! Your trip looks amazing! I guess if you have to be dealing with teeth coming in, Hawaii is not a bad place to do it. Hopefully the sound of the waves can help K relax and find her zen!
@ALV91711: First snow already?! How much did you guys end up getting?
@Adira: I agree. They grow up too quickly this first year!
We went house hunting again today and found two contenders. Of course, we prefer the more expensive house, which is listed at the top of our budget, because it is on a bigger piece of property, has a big kitchen, and it has two full bathrooms. (It's nearly impossible to find a house with two full bathrooms in our budget in the areas where we are looking. Absurd.) However, the cheaper house isn't a bad option (but only 1.5 baths and a smallish kitchen) and it's about $135k under our budget. So maybe that's the more responsible choice? Decisions, decisions. Gahhh, and I'm not sure I'm ready to leave the city at all, or that we'll fit in in this particular town. Being a grownup is stressful!

@Adira: @ALV91711: Jaren's wearing 12 month sleepers from Carter's. I bought them online, but they sell them at Costco too.
@QueensBee: Your thought process reminds me of House Hunters! DH and I are always guessing which house the couple ends up choosing. Decisions decisions!

@shopaholic: ALOHA~ Looks like you guys are having a blast over there!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@QueensBee: This was the second snow. First one was just a dusting. Last night we got about 4 inches. It is wet, heavy, gross snow. Usually we get light and fluffy snow.
That is exciting that you found a couple of options for houses. I hope the decision isn't too hard to make.
@Mrs. High Heels: Isaac is in 12 month Carters sleepers too. There is a department store here that sells them and there is a carters store, just have to go there.
Today Isaac used his pincer grip to pick up puffs and put them in his mouth. He did it at lunch and dinner. He was so excited when he did it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: I'll have to go to the Carter's outlet here and see if I can find some! Otherwise I'll have to order on-line too! Although it probably WOULD be good if I started dressing Xander in real clothes...

@ALV91711: aww a snow suit is going to be so cute!
@shopaholic: glad that y'all are having fun! Glad you are finally seeing a tooth. R is still working on her 2nd set of top ones. She was drooling like crazy today. Her guns look so swollen.
@ALV91711: 12-18 months?!?!?
@Adira: Do they just have the two piece sets? What is Xander going to do in real clothes
@QueensBee: Buying a house is so hard and stressful! Good luck on your decision. Go with your gut!
@ALV91711: go I!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
R did great at my parents! They said when they first got there she was looking around like where am I? And looming for us? But she settled down fast. Sleep great in the PNP! She apparently would crawl after whoever left the room. Dad and Mom said it was really cute.
I was so excited to see her!!! We had a family get together for my grandmas bday. Everyone was amazed how good she stands up. Tonight she stood multiple times for a good 5secs not holding anything before she fell. She picked up bananas yesterday and ate them. Then today ate some Ritz crackers.
DH and I really enjoyed the time to ourselves. So weird being home without her. The only problem was I had to help bag leaves this morning cause I didn't have R as an excuse!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: Glad to hear that she had a good sleepover and that you enjoyed your time with DH. Standing on her own! That is awesome! Wow, R is so big.
When you are giving her banana's how big are you making the pieces? I'm thinking I'm going to have to start giving Isaac finger foods soon but I don't know where I'm going to start.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: I took half of the banana and then broke it in 3. The banana has a natural cut that way. Then it was long enough she could pick it up.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: They do have two-set pjs, but I was hoping for footed pajamas! Oh well! And I don't know how this real clothes thing is going to work... Xander and Hubs will probably hate it (Hubs will hate it because he's going to have to actually get Xander dressed in the morning)!
@Smurfette: So glad R did great at your parents and that you and your husband had a good time!!! But man - what a bummer having to deal with leaves!!! I think Hubs and I are going to be lazy and hire someone to deal with ours, haha.
@ALV91711: When we gave Xander banana, we just gave him a whole half of a banana and he kind of just smushed it up himself into smaller pieces to eat!

How'd all the Feb/March babies do with daylight savings??
Sunday morning was a little rough for us. Xander woke up at 4:00, 4:30, and then 5:00 when I finally got up to feed him. Then he was up for the day at 6:30. But this morning went much better - he woke up at 5:00 and was fine for about 15 minutes, and then I fed him and he went back to sleep. Not sure what time he woke up for the day - he was still sleeping when I left at 6:30.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: That is smart, I found when I just gave him half the banana it was a bit much for him to handle.
@Adira: Isaac wears a long sleeve onesie and cotton pants every day. Easy and comfy. He has a couple pairs of jeans and other pants but they are a pain to deal with so he very rarely wears those.
Daylight savings went all right. We were up early yesterday, but he had a couple good naps and was up until his normal bedtime. This morning he was up early again though.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: I suspect Xander will be wearing something similar to Isaac! Long sleeve onesies and comfy pants!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: She was with my parents Sunday morning so she woke up at 5, which was 6 her normal time. She was went to bed a little early on Sat night, they said, so she always wakes up at 6 when she goes to bed early. This morning she woke around 530. I left her in the crib until 545, cause she was just talking to herself and playing with her lovey. So much nicer getting dressed without her up but at 545 she started crying.
Hopefully we get back on track soon!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Yes!!!!! We're officially dream-feed weaned!!! Although the past couple nights, he has woken up screaming his head off, but I think that's due to teething, not because he's hungry. I've given him Tylenol both time and rocked him and he's gone back to sleep. I hope these top teeth poke through soon so he can get some relief!
Also, he did eat solids this weekend and seemed pretty into them, so I'm going to see how it goes at daycare today. If he doesn't eat AGAIN, I'll know it's because of the 6oz bottles and go back to 5oz!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Glad that he eat solids this weekend!
R woke up numerous times last night, crying and fussing. But just when I was about to get up and go get her, she went back to sleep. Damn teeth, stop hurting my baby!

@Adira: Pete did not get the daylight savings time memo! He was awake at 4:30am both mornings so far. Last night I tried keeping him awake until his usual bedtime but he just couldn't stay up for the extra hour. I ended up putting him to sleep at 5:30pm and he slept for 11 hours straight. I'm reallllly hoping that I can keep him up until 6 or 6:30pm tonight, which would be the normal schedule.
@Smurfette: Your comment about the raking made me laugh! i do love when i can use LO to get out of unpleasant chores. Nursing was perfect for that. Sounds like your anniversary was lovely and the happy reunion with R was even better!
@Mrs. High Heels: Ha, yes, it does feel like an episode of House Hunters! We are trying to stall the decision until next weekend. Hopefully neither one will sell before then!
Small vent for the day:
My ILs are in town for the week. They haven't seen Pete since August so I'm really excited for them to see how much he's changed in the past few months! I put him in an extra cute outfit today just for them. However, it's going to be a long/hectic week. We have them over every night for dinner, I signed up for CrossFit classes on Tuesday and Thursday night (I now realize this was a mistake but it's nonrefundable), I have parent/teacher conferences which go until 7pm on Thursday, and I have a dermatologist appointment on Wed. evening. Plus, I just found out my very best friend is having a baby today (she was due on 11/17) and I really want to visit her in the hospital at some point. I just don't know how to fit it all in! End vent, thanks for listening!
Pete tried scrambled egg yolks this weekend loves them! No allergic reaction so far so they are a new staple in our dinnertime routine. I'm not sure when we'll try the egg whites. The ped suggested that we offer them in a baked dish first so that they are cooked very well. I think the logic is that if he is indeed allergic, the reaction is usually lessened in a baked dish. Maybe next weekend...
Hope everyone's week if off to a good start!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@QueensBee: Good luck with Pete tonight! We ended up keeping Xander up until 8:00 on Saturday night in anticipation of DST, but he STILL woke up at 4:00! Grrr! But this morning went better and I'm guessing he'll be fine tonight/tomorrow! Hope you can get Pete on schedule soon! I've heard it's common to take up to a week for babies to transition, so I think we just got lucky!
YIKES! Your week sounds jam-packed!!!! I hope you're able to squeeze everything that you want to in!! And congratulations to your friend!! That's so exciting that you both will have babies less than 9 months apart!
And this is probably a stupid question but how did you separate the egg yolk from the whites? And then do you just fry the yolk in a pan and scramble it?? And then how did you serve it to him? Just like that and he picked up pieces to eat?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@QueensBee: Seriously these babies come in handy at times
Wow! You are going to be busy this week. That will be great your friend having a baby not to far behind P. Good luck with it all. I hope he gets back on schedule sleep wise. R was ready at 545 last night but I walked outside with her for a bit, and then did bath with Daddy (she doesn't have as much fun when I do it, not sure what is up with that), seemed to make her happy till 630. Hopefully tonight she will back on her 7.
I still need to try eggs!

@Adira: I hope those teeth come in soon. That is great that he is making it through the night without eating. I hope he keeps it up with the solids.
@QueensBee: I am tired just reading about your week! That is so exciting to have a friend with a baby close in age. I hope that next weekend you are able to relax. How did bedtime go tonight. Hopefully no 4:30 wake up time tomorrow.
Isaac did not nap today. Oh my was this household tired. And he went to bed at 6:45, so only 15 min early. I really hope that he has a very long stretch of sleep. I'm wondering if his lack of sleep had anything with getting the flu shot today? But at least he ate a lot of solids, so that was the highlight of the day. And he wasn't very cranky.

@Adira: Oh my goodness we are waiting on the top teeth too. Last night was horrid!!! So far tonight all signs are pointing to a repeat. Hope Xander has a better night tonight.
@QueensBee: Sounds like you have a busy week! Hope you get some time to visit your friend!
@ALV91711: Hopefully you will get a nice long stretch of sleep to make up for the lack of naps!
We gave Liam some chicken tonight. I think he really liked it. I just shredded some up with a little bit of spice seasoning and olive oil. I tried to give him some of my tofu but maybe he was just full or did not like it so much. Oh well this veggie mama will just have to deal with it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Yikes!!! Hope Isaac slept okay for having not napped all day!! I can't believe he wasn't cranky all day! How was he not exhausted???
@dojo: Xander's night WAS better!!! No wake-ups!! Yay! Although we're still waiting for those dang teeth to come through! I hope L's come in soon too!
Okay, I really need to start trying some finger foods with Xander.... we're still just doing purees and I'm afraid he's going to be so far behind with all you ladies trying new things!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@ALV91711: Ouch! Poor I and Mom for no naps. I couldn't handle R if she didn't nap. I hope he slept great last night.
@dojo: Smart boy! Going for the chicken and not the tofu
@Adira: We have only done Cheerios (thumbs down), banana (thumbs up), and Ritz crackers (thumbs up) We need to do more too. Just scares me and I worry about what to season, say, chicken with. I have some in the fridge but it is lemon pepper, so I don't want to give her that....
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I'm glad we're in roughly the same boat with the food situation! I really just need to bite the bullet and start giving him some things! Though it's hard during the week because he usually won't nap at daycare and then goes down for a nap as soon as we get home, wakes up to nurse, and then straight back to bed. Maybe this weekend I'll just try giving him something! Anything!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yeah I figure we can try new things on the weekend, Maybe Sunday night, cook up chicken and veggies, so then I just have to reheat them.
pomelo / 5621 posts
We need to do more finger foods too. We've only done banana, avocado and carrot.
Last nights sleep was all right. He got up at 1:45 and 4:45 and then was up at 6. I'm pooped and really hope he naps today. Usually when he wakes up he is happy, this morning he woke up crying and I'm not sure why.

@ALV91711: @QueensBee: @Mrs. High Heels: @Smurfette: Thank you ladies! It's been really nice and glad K is REALLY enjoying the water! I'm sad it's our last day and we leave tomorrow morning.
@QueensBee: Aww... I hear you on house-hunting! It can be SO hard to find what you're looking for. You often wish you could combine 2 houses. I compromised on the kitchen size and an extra half bath, and of course, I still want those things now... Good luck!
@ALV91711: Yay for the pincer grip! That's when K started enjoying eating! I've given K bananas in the mesh feeder for herself to hold and just mashed up with the spoon.
@Smurfette: Sounds like a great first night away. but boo to bagging leaves.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: Yay for solids and dream-feed weaning! I think onesies and comfy pants are pretty easy and common for little boys! Costco has Carters sleepers in 12 months. Oddly enough, they don't have 9 month, which is what we need. I have put K in 2 piece pjs, especially for playing. I actually think they are so much easier, but we need one-piece for sure for winter. I don't want the shirt lifting up on her belly.
Hawaii didn't get a time-change, so it's nice that we'll only have a 2 hr time difference to deal with going back. And it means she should be sleeping in longer in the morning, if anything, which is fine by me!
@Smurfette: Poor girl! I know K was not sleeping well last night, kept crying out, even though she had Motrin. I brought her into bed with us and she slept a lot better, kept curling up into me and settled down fast. Stupid teeth!
I actually had a dream that K woke up with ALL her teeth overnight! Freaky! Stop growing so fast babies!
@QueensBee: Wow! Sounds like a crazy, hectic week! Good luck!
@dojo: Yay for chicken! lol on tofu! I've given K tofu. I hope she continues to like it. I love tofu!
Last night I gave K some fish! It was Hamachi YellowTail Collar. Super fancy for a baby by DH's standards. lol. But she liked it! I'm finding feeding her stuff I am eating so much easier. But oy vey... solids poop - >< ewwww gross.
Also, K has been SUPER gassy with the worst-smelling farts since this trip. Not sure if it's constipation, sionce she is still going a little every day, but it's never smelled so bad. IDK what is up.

Oh! K started waving! She did it a couple days ago, but it was for sure waving since yesterday at other little kids! Though it's more an up and down with her hands instead if side to side yet. Still, exciting!
