@twobee: what?? that's so cool - how does that work? you just send in an announcement and they're guaranteed to send something back?
@Smurfette: that's great she napped well! crossing my fingers for you that she keeps up the good sleep into the night. keep us posted on how it all goes... and yea, i don't feel sorry for @shopaholic either

@Smurfette: Seriously! I feel like I'mnever going to be healthy! And it sucks that I'm getting sick right before the holiday. Hopefully it will be a 24 hour bug and I'll feel better tomorrow!

@Adira: oh boo. feel better!!
It took us 90+ minutes to get Andy to sleep tonight. Dude must be having a major growth spurt or something between this morning's no nap and tonight. Oy. On the bright side, he totally mastered the back to front roll. He's quick!!

Being on vacation to families with a baby kind of drives me crazy. Everyone just wants to play with him even when he should be getting settled for bed. If I say he's tired it means he's tired and needs to go to sleep, not try and make him giggle and laugh. Then I'm stuck with an overtired baby.
I know most nights he doesn't go to sleep until 10, but before that he needs to be getting in the bedtime mode because he will go to sleep before 10.
Had to vent.

@aprk: Us too! Good job A!!! I still can't R to do it.
@ALV91711: that drives me crazy with family events too. I am like hello she needs to stretch out and play, y'all don't need to hold her the whole time

@Smurfette: Isaac has started to let us know he wants to be out down more. He will cry and the only thing to calm him is putting him so he can play.

Last night's report. DH gave R a bottle of formula and she went to sleep pretty well. Then she woke up about 10 mins later coughing, then it took an hour to get her down. But at least I know she will go to sleep with a bottle. She slept till 1230, we went to bed at 930, so we got 3 hours. I feed her, and she was out. She woke up 10 mins later coughing. I got her back down. Then 30 mins later, woke up again coughing. DH went to get her. I heard her screaming, so I go in there and he said that it was a major blowout. He said never seen so much poop. At least it didn't soak through the crib sheet. So we get her changed and in another sleep sack, but this doesn't have a swaddle. She felt hot to me. So we gave her some Tylenol. She just wouldn't settle down. DH came back cause it had been like an hour. We took her temp, so that just pissed her off, and it was only 99.4. Got out a SwaddleMe blanket and swaddled her hands out and then she finally settled down. It is 4 in the morning at this point. She woke up 30 mins later. I asked DH to go and see if he could get her back to sleep. Then next thing I knew it was almost 6. DH was asleep with her on his chest in the guest room. So another rough night, but I got 5 hours at least, in two chunks so that helped. Tonight I am on my own. I told DH I would sleep in the guest room (it is next to her room) since he is running a 10K in the morning.
Wow, that was a book, sorry!

@smurfette: glad you got a little sleep last night. She is sooo adorable!!! I love her 4th of July outfit! Where did you get that bow?
@twobee: thanks for reminding me about sending an announcement to the White House. We did it for our wedding and loved it. It would also be a great addition to K's baby book!
@adira: feel better soon!!!
My motivation to do any work today has reached an all-time low. I'm crossing my fingers my boss will let me go home early today. I took Friday off and I'm so excited to have 4 days with K!!

@Smurfette: Not really. Temp is up and I'm feeling more nauseous today. I stayed home and sent Xander to daycare. I've been sleeping all morning. Just got up now to pump. I suspect my supply is probably down though because I haven't been able to eat anything.
Sorry to hear you had another rough night! Poor R! I hope she feels better soon and you can all start getting some sleep! And I LOVE that outfit - so cute!! I took your advice too and went to Crazy 8 to find a 4th of July outfit for Xander. They had stuff on sale, so I got him a cute romper for $9. Daycare is having a parade today, so he's wearing it. Assuming I'm feeling up for hanging out with family this weekend, he'll probably wear it again, so I'll try to get a picture.
@aprk: Go A!!! I'm so impressed he's mastered rolling! I'm still waiting for Xander to figure it out!

@Adira: Oh no, I hope you feel better soon, and are able to squeeze in a nap later!
@Smurfette: Every day I check this thread and am rooting for you to get a good night! Thankfully she is cute so it makes it more bearable, right?? Her outfit is adorable!!
@twobee: Thanks!

@Smurfette: Yes, so glad I have four days off. But I'm bummed because I had a lot of family get-togethers planned and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do any of them.

I keep checking back for a good night for @Smurfette: too And I'm sorry you aren't feeling any better @Adira: !
I think we probably hit the 4 month sleep regression already or are currently in the midst of it and I just haven't noticed. Little man has been waking up in the middle of the night or really super early for no apparent reason lately so I can't tell. I think he's having nightmares. Hopefully they'll both even out now - she slept from 1 until 6:30 last night! It was incredible

Haha like a few of you have said - I can hardly keep up on this board!
@Smurfette: oh my goodness that pic is so cute she is so darling! I put Liam in a little patriotic outfit today too but I forgot to get a pic - I'll have to do an outfit repeat tomorrow Sorry it sounds like you are continuing to have some rough nights - hope it gets better and you can get some more rest soon!
@Adira: Hope you feel better soon!
@NatuallyCathy: Hope that the sleep gets better for you from here on out! 1-6:30 sounds pretty good from my perspective!
@sheskrafty: I am feeling you on the no motivation - I have been ready to leave work since I got here... I wish I had Friday off too - but I have no vacation time after using it all up for my leave.
Yesterday was Liam's first day at daycare - and I think he had a good day! DH picked him up and of course I don't think he was asking all the same questions I would have but our little reporting sheet says he took two one hour naps and drank his bottles well - the only weird thing was that they gave him his two bottles within a couple hours of each other then the last one quite a bit later - but I guess whatever works... Today I'll see if it is any different.

@Adira: Oh no hope you feel better soon.
@Smurfette: Shez so cute!! sorry you had a rough night hope R does better for the holiday weekend and you can get some extra sleep in.
I have been very busy with work this week and so exhausted each day. Didn't even have any energy to browse or check hello bee. So baby J has been sleeping 9:30pm to 3:30am. We have been feeding him between 8:30-9:30 and that seems to help LO fall and stay asleep. I need to start going to bed early but I wake up to pump at 10:30pm and then I have a hard time falling back asleep. Then I again have to wake up 4:30 to pump. Anyways happy that this was a short week and I get to take 4 days off. I can hopefully catch up on some Zs.
@dojo: Glad to hear Liam had a good start at daycare. I need to take some pics of LO and post here too. Whenever I put him in a cute outfit he promptly spits/throws up and I have to change. He only seems ti stay dry in the white onesie!
apricot / 338 posts
@NaturallyCathy: Yay for some good sleep! I wonder what LOs dream about. Sometimes J wakes up from his nap screaming and I keep thinking maybe he was having nightmare or got upset for some reason. I really can't wait for the day when he can start talking and I can understand his needs better!!
Happy 4th of July American bees!!

Okay ladies, who stole my baby and replaced him with one of yours??? This is the second time tonight he woke up crying. Hubs was able to get him back down last time, but this time his cries just got louder and louder and more frantic. I'm feeding him now... hopefully he was just hungry and will sleep well after this.

@Adira: Sorry! I still have my mess with me.
Are you feeling better??

@Adira: maybe ours switched? Isaac just woke up for the first time at 3:15am. 6 hours since hearst ate and 5 since he went to sleep. Hope Xander sleeps the feast of the night. Are you feeling better?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Haha, oh well. How was R last night? I don't really feel any better, but my fever has gone down, so I must be getting better, right? I'm thinking maybe my supply is down because I'm sick and that's why Xander woke in the MOTN hungry, though I don't know for sure. I know I pumped less than normal yesterday though.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I pumped less yesterday too:( I still have a stuffy nose so not sure if that is taking its toll or the lack of sleep is affecting it. Did Xander go back to sleep? Hope you start feeling better! At least the fever is down.
Well last night was interesting. It took an hour and half to get her down. She was in her crib at 830. I pretty much ate dinner and went to sleep in the guest room. She woke up at 10. I seriously cursed. She just kept crying. DH must have heard cause he came in to find me giving in to nurse her with tears running down my face. He said to try swaddling her arms in again. So he took her, and went ahead and changed her, swaddled and she kept crying. I just sat in the glider crying. We finally just put her in the crib and I went into the guest bed. DH and I were "talking", he said we aren't fighting when I said I don't want to fight with you, trying to figure out what to do. I can't keep this up, especially since he starts traveling again next week. All the sudden it was quiet. She fell asleep around 1045!! Then she woke up at 1215, I just watched her on the monitor, she wasn't crying hard, and she fell back asleep around 1. I should note she had both as out of the swaddle. Then woke up 20 mins later, this crying was louder. I had to go I and move her cause she scooted herself to the end of the crib and I couldn't see her. Finally fell asleep a little after 2. Then slept till 445! I told myself no feeding till after 2. This time I went to check on her and she sucked on my finger. So I fed her. Once she was done I was holding her like normally do but she kept squirming so I just put her in the crib and she was out. Then she slept till 7. I let her cry for 10 mins and then just got her up for the day. So a better night.
She still has the cold but I think we are moving to full CIO tonight. We have to do something. I am miserable right now. This is taking a toll on our marriage which isn't good. We have to make more time for us and right now we don't have any.
I did just get a laugh so she must not hate me! She is nursing now and then we will just wait for DH to get home from his race.
I will post a picture later with her outfit. Hope everyone has a good 4th!!!

@dojo: Glad to hear Liam had a good day at daycare! I'm impressed he napped so well - it's taken Xander a while to start napping okay at daycare!
@silver1: Yikes, having to pump twice in the night must be exhausting! I always have trouble falling back asleep if I've been up for too long (like longer than 5 minutes).
@ALV91711: Glad to hear Isaac had a good stretch of sleep!!! Isn't that the best??
@Smurfette: Sorry to hear you guys still had a rough night, but it's good to know that she's not hungry all night long! Hopefully CIO will work for you guys. I really want you to be able to get some sleep! *hug*

So I swaddled R, arms out, put her in the crib, turned on white noise. She was asleep for her morning nap within 10 mins. She just slept for 45 mins. She isn't getting enough sleep but making progress to get her asleep on her own. Leaving her in the crib for a bit to see if she will fall back asleep

@Smurfette: ohh girl, i'm so sorry you had another rough night. my daughter was not an easy baby either, and i was at my wits end so we sleep trained - full on extinction CIO at 6 weeks. you are hanging on far better and longer than i. you're a great mama, and one day she will wake up and be a completely different baby. you, DH, and her will get more rest, and you'll start enjoying everything a lot more - i promise!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: How long did it take for her to get it? I read your blog post a while back but I can't remember.
It is just so hard cause she is getting fun but I feel like I can't enjoy it cause I am so tired and stressed about her not sleeping. Worried me that she isn't getting all the sleep that she needs.
