@Adira: @ALV91711: @QueensBee: @Smurfette: Thank you ladies. She did take the bottle they said. I think she must have been hungry enough to take it and want more. But IDK how much dripped out since she was in a different outfit again once I got home.
@jodyblair: I give K some meat like shredded, mashed up, or pureed. I you have an Asian market, they have really thin sliced meat (called Shabu or Sukiyaki). We had Shabu (hot pot soup) last week and the bee was just really thin slices boiled in soup. The past few days I've just been giving her some of the meat broken into small pieces with a ork. It's my avorte way of giving her meat so far.
@Adira: Is Xander taking more puffs today? K loooves her puffs!
@QueensBee: Baby kisses are THE BEST! OMG I love that report card! Please post as much as you can and I'm going to grade K myself!
@Smurfette: Poor R! Why did they need to pick her feet? I must have missed that news. Don't worry about her stats. She sounds REALLY close to K's stats! 27.4" L and 16.2 lbs. She also hadn't gained in the month or so since her last doc visit. I think it's because our girls are both so active and busy moving all the time. I read it's really normal, to lose weight even, when they start crawling and walking. I need to start introducing yogurt too. The doc did mention that and more protein. I've been working every day on giving her some protein.
So.... K's more frequent night wakings (like 3-4 instead of 2) lately we figured was due to teething. At last Friday's ped visit, he said he couldn't feel or see any top teeth coming in. K won't really let me check her top teeth - just sucks or wants to chew on my fingers if I try to look. Well, the maid was over today and making K laugh during a diaper change and I saw a new top tooth has broken through!!! No wonder for the excessive drooling, chewing, and wakings the past week. BUT - it's so weird... it's a top left tooth! Only on one side so far! And NOT the middle front teeth! It's either the one next to the front, OR a fang tooth (IDK what they're called), OR she's got really crooked teeth. lol. It's 5:40pm and she had 1 (29 min, nap) and on her 2nd nap of the day now. The maids are here cleaning though - so I'm hoping she can stay asleep through all the banging for at least an hour...

@shopaholic: They pricked her toe to get blood to test her iron. I think it is cause she is so active too. I mean she eats plenty. She just might be 1 and still wearing 9 month clothes!! R has had yogurt before, she loved it. We just stopped cause she was spitting up so much but I don't think it was the yogurt.
So weird about her tooth. I think I remember it happened to another bee, not in the March group. But at least it came in. We are waiting on R left one to come in. Her gun is so swollen and white.

@shopaholic: I didn't end up giving Xander any puffs today because he fell asleep on the way home from daycare and by the time he woke up, it was close to his bedtime, so I didn't want to give him the 10 minutes off puffs play-time before dinner, haha. Oh well!
That's so weird about her tooth!!! But at least it's in so hopefully she'll be able to sleep at night again!!

@jodyblair: We started giving them meat around 7 1/2-8 months, but at first it was only in some Earth's Best purees. Just in the last few weeks, we've started letting them nom on some "real" meat. The first they tried was fajita chicken, which the LOVED. I think the best way is to just bake or grill some chicken and cut it up in long strips if you're okay with BLW. They did get some bites that were really big, and I'm paranoid since they have no teeth, so I would fish those out and tear them into smaller pieces.

Hi Ladies! Keep forgetting, but I wanted to get addresses for holiday cards! Wall me if you're interested I exchanging. I'd love to "see" all the March babies on our walls! Also, re: the FB thread, I'd love to be FB friends too if you want!
Hoping our cards arrive today!!!

@shopaholic: Ooh yes, I'd love to do a March Mamas holiday card exchange. I'll wall you!

@shopaholic: I would love to do cards but I have to see if I have enough. I ordered 75 and I think I should have got 100. I will wall peeps this weekend once I know how many I have left.

I would be in for a card exchange, but I'm out of pictures, cards and probably time.
We did the walk through of our new place today. I love it so much. Monday we go to the lawyers to sign paperwork, Tuesday we get the keys and then Wednesday we move! I'm so excited. I even have a spot for our tree picked out!

@ALV91711: I'm out of pictures too!
And YAY!!!! That's so awesome you're closing next week!!! So exciting!!!!

@ALV91711: so exciting! Glad you already have a spot for the tree. Very important!

Oh man, I don't think I have enough cards either. Bummer! I'd be in for FB!
@ALV91711: Congrats on the new place! How exciting!! @shopaholic: That happened with his top teeth too. The Dr. said he didn't have any coming in and then a few days later, bam! Two teeth!
Here is where we are at: L temporarily feels OK. NO cold and ears are clearing up. We are almost done with antibiotics. I am cynical so I say temporarily because he is still in daycare. For now. We are actively searching for a nanny. We have a potential candidate coming on Saturday. I hope it works out because I am very excited about her. She is a Cuban doctor that isn't practicing here. She has a 9 month old girl that she would bring along and they would play together! So cute. I really like this idea, although I know some people wouldn't. I liked that he got baby interaction in daycare, so I think this is a perk. She speaks very good English and Spanish- so she could teach L! Her references are good. I just need to do the interview and a background check.
Also, we have an Isis sleep consultation set up for next Wednesday. Hopefully we can get this kid sleeping- in his own crib- before too long.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@travellingbee: Glad to hear he is feeling ok. Hopefully the sleep consult goes great, I'm sure all of you could really use some sleep. I think that nanny sounds great, I like that she has a baby the same age and they could play together.
@Smurfette: This is the closest to Christmas that I've ever left decorating.
@Adira: I'm excited, and the best part is we have movers, so all we have to do is finish packing.
Last night was amazing, Isaac slept 6-6, only getting up once at 2:15. He didn't have an afternoon nap and was so tired yesterday. I tried to get him to nap for almost 3 hours.
This morning he had a 10 minute morning nap. He woke himself up rocking back and forth on all fours. He just had a great afternoon nap, so he is happy now.
@Smurfette: Isaac was never tested for iron. I also find it interesting as our ped has never told us how much or how often to feed solids or anything. She asked what types of foods he was eating and if he was still nursing and then we talked about whole milk.
I'm glad to have the bee to figure these things out.

@QueensBee: @Smurfette: @sheskrafty: @ALV91711: Just wall me your info when you get a chance. Looks like my cards haven't even shipped yet. Wahhh! I always over-order cards.
@ALV91711: Exciting!!! And you'll be in the new house in time for a tree! Yay! Sounds like naps are improving?
@travellingbee: Sounds like you have a lot going on! Good luck with the potential nanny and keeping the illnesses away!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@travellingbee: So glad to hear that L is FINALLY starting to feel better! How has the sleep been?? I hope the nanny candidate turns out as good as you hope and things work out!
@ALV91711: Woohoo sleep!!! And my ped is the same way - I feel like I don't really know what we're supposed to be doing. We didn't even talk about transitioning to milk! Not that Xander can have WCM, but still... what should I transition him to? And when? And should I try alternative yogurts and stuff before hand? And as far as how much he should be eating, all she said was that by 12 months, he should be on 3 meals and 2 snacks. But how much at each meal, I have no idea! And is it okay if he's still not eating finger foods by then??
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
OMG, Xander was so sweet last night. He's really gotten better at crawling and can even make some progress on hardwood, even though he definitely struggles. Last night I was playing with him in the living room when Hubs came home. Xander got soooooooo excited and started doing his excited panting and crawling towards the door to get to Hubs, haha. It was so cute!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@shopaholic: Naps are hit and miss. He'll have a couple good days, followed by a couple not so good days. Once we are moved we are going to work on this some more.
@Adira: That is so adorable, DH must of loved that. Whenever DH comes home Isaac gets so excited and flaps his arms and pants. I guess it is a good thing we have the bee to figure out this food thing.
I can't believe Isaac pulled up to his knees in his crib today. Guess we will be lowering it for sure when we move. I was thinking he may not be ready for the push walker one of his Grandma's got him for Christmas, but it looks like he will be pretty close.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: haha, I LOVE the excited arm flapping and panting!!! Babies are so silly! Tonight, Hubs was trying to put Xander to bed and he was just so hyper, he wasn't having any of it, so he let him crawl around a bit. They were upstairs and I was downstairs, so I went to the top of the stairs to where we just installed the baby-gate and I was talking to Xander through the bars and he just thought it was HYSTERICAL. He just kept looking at me through the bars and laughing! It was so adorable, haha.
Isaac sounds like he's exactly where Xander is physical-milestones-wise! Xander JUST pulled up onto his knees today too! Except he did it against the baby-gate. I haven't seen him do it in the crib yet, though we should probably lower it just to be on the safe side! And I was also thinking he wouldn't really be ready for the walker my parents are getting him for Christmas either, but definitely close!
And OMG, food, I'm even more confused than ever. I went shopping today and decided I'd try out some coconut milk and see how it tastes because potentially that's what Xander will have to drink. It's not bad, but definitely doesn't taste "right" to me. BUT it also is lacking the 8g of protein that WCM has! UGH. What other nutrients is Xander going to be missing out on by not being able to drink WCM?? And what are good substitutes for that? I'm totally freaked out.
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: Xander is ahead since he is crawling. I have a feeling Isaac will be crawling soon though. I just hope he waits another week.
I guess you just have to find an alternative with close to the same nutrients as possible and then make them up with other foods? And you will be comparing the taste to milk, at least he doesn't know what milk tastes like.
I think with three meals and two snacks the whole day is going to be revolved around eating and sleeping.
It was so cute, the other morning DH was having some yogurt, Isaac had just finished his breakfast and was on the floor playing. He kept watching DH, so he gave Isaac a bite. Isaac loved this and just kept opening his mouth. Feed me more. It was his first taste of strawberry.

@shopaholic: The card exchange sounds fun! I don't know how many extra cards we will have - I didn't order all that many (those things are pricey!) Mine were supposed to be here yesterday but they have yet to arrive... But if we have some extras I'd love to participate. I found a handful of people on FB sparked by the other thread but I would love to be friends with you all! So if you get a creepy internet stalker friend request from me - you've been warned.
So we are officially crawling! L has been really close the past couple weeks but last night he actually crawled and we got it on video (as those of you on IG may have seen) All it took was a handful of puffs - I suppose we should have tried bribing him earlier... Today he has been crawling a bunch and it is so crazy to actually see him moving around. I'm relieved that he finally is on the move even though now I'm terrified about keeping my eyes on him! DH was starting to get worried since someone told him that not crawling is linked to dyslexia and he was not buying it when I told him that L would crawl whenever he was ready and that it was perfectly normal. Daycare told us that he has been trying to pull up a lot lately so I am now wondering if he will be a little on the later side with walking too or if he will pick up on that a little quicker.
Are any of you starting to plan 1st birthdays yet? It hit me that by the time all the holidays are over I will not have much time to really plan much so I figured I really should start putting some ideas together!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Yeah, at least Xander won't know what he's missing out on with milk! I still want to try almond milk too in case that is more nutritious and tastes better. And that's awesome that Isaac liked the yogurt so much!!!
@dojo: Yay crawling!!! Go L!!! As far as birthday planning... I have an idea of what I want to do, but haven't really done anything yet. I need to pick a date I guess and just start ordering things, haha.
Xander slept TWELVE HOURS last night!!!! 7:30 - 7:30! That's the first time he's ever done that! I feel soooooo rested this morning!!

So many mobile babies! Still no crawling yet, but we're getting close.
@dojo: I'm so excited to start party planning, but I'm still not sure what I want to do for a theme. Once I have that nailed down, I'll be able to really start thinking about all the fun details. It's hard to believe our babies are getting close to their first birthdays.
@Adira: We use almond milk and I really like it. After C weans and I can have dairy products again, I'm not even sure if I'll go back to drinking cow's milk!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@jodyblair: Thanks!! I'll have to check out almond milk! I only tried coconut because I was ALSO trying a coconut milk yogurt (which I didn't like, but I think that's because I wasn't a fan of the blueberry flavor). I actually had the coconut milk in my coffee earlier and that tasted just fine.
And OMG girls, she's back!!!! AF has FINALLY returned to me after 9.5 months!!! YAY!!!!
bananas / 9973 posts
@ALV91711: I saw on IG. You have to lower the crib now! We've lowered K's to the 3rd setting, but I'm going to make DH lower it to the last one today. She can put both her arms and head over the rails.
@Adira: Xander is such a cutie! He sounds like so much fun! I hear you on being confused about the foods, much less about dairy allergies! Yeah, our doctor didn't really go over any kinds of transitions from milk. I had to ask my SIL last night what she did after 1 year. I feel like even though we're supposed to offer more solids, I don't think I can give enough variety and nutrients needed every day. It's so overwhelming!
@dojo: Mine say they are shipped and I should get them by late tomorrow. FX'd! And YAY for crawling and YAY for being FB friends! I have like 20 new FB friends!
I have been thinking about the birthday party thing for the past month. Everyone has been telling me since K turned 6-7 months that I needed to start planning. IDK if you guys have seen some of the birthday parties we've gone to. It's like serious business! lol! Again - overwhelming. My main issue right now is WHERE to hold the party since March is so unpredictable in weather here. I am 90% sure about our theme, so I have some ideas for that already. But I just realized the other day that I have less than 3 months to plan and scared that I won't be able to get a location. And our house will be too cramped.
persimmon / 1223 posts
@Adira: WOW 12 hours? That sounds totally amazing! Yay for AF (haha you are the only person I know that would be excited for that!) hope you can get KU'd soon now if that's still you're plan! For the record I don't do dairy and I've had nearly every type of non-dairy - almond milk is great! (I like coconut milk too but I've tried the coconut milk yogurt and I thought it had a weird consistency)
@jodyblair: I can't settle on a theme either - it's bad because I keep scouring pinterest and blogs and seeing amazing ideas so I just can't seem to make up my mind. I am super excited to start putting together decorations!
@shopaholic: I know I even told myself that I should start planning when L was 7 months old. But I just put it off and now he's nearly 10 months! Sometimes I wish he had been born during a warmer month because it seems so much easier to think of outdoor locations and ideas! We will most likely end up doing it at our house rather than renting something out but it will certainly be super cramped if all the people we invite show up (we will probably just invite family and handful of close friends but we have a lot of extended family that live relatively close). I have seen some of the parties you've posted on IG - they look so fun and fancy! I was looking on some blogs the other day for ideas and all of a sudden I realized 'Damn - these parties are fancier than my wedding was...'
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: I know what you mean about the food! It probably doesn't help that I've never been the healthiest eater either, but now I feel even more aware of that and want to do better for Xander. But it's hard to know what he needs to eat to get all the protein, fiber, vitamins, calcium, etc that he needs! I need someone to just make me a meal plan I can follow for him.
@dojo: Thanks! I'm not entirely sure Hubs is still totally on board with #2 right now, but we're still NTNP, so... I'm hoping for the best!! And thanks for the tip - I will definitely try almond milk!! Do they make an almond make based yogurt?
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: Such a cute photo!! Yay for AF coming back!! I can't believe he slept 12 hours. Isaac woke up 4 times last night. I think this chaos of moving is messing him up.
@dojo: That is awesome that he is crawling! I haven't started to plan his party, but it will be pretty small. I'm pretty sure I'll do a Sesame street theme.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: I looove how his pictures turned out! Yay for 12 hours - AWESOME! And haha - yay?! for your AF coming back? lol. I just got mine again and it was the worst yet since pre-pregnancy. And I was totally PMS'ing for a few days without realizing it. Then afterwards I could tell DH that PMS was why I was being such a B*. heheh.
@dojo: Yeah they are some fancy parties around here. I was telling our family yesterday that everyone does details down to the personalized water bottle labels and that I have to do the water bottle labels at the very least. lol. I mean... I should have started a few months ago....
Right now I'm thinking a Rio: Carnaval theme, based off the kids' movie, since it's K's favorite. But it's so much blue colors and I don't want it to look boy-ish... We'll see.

@Adira: 12 hours! I don't like you right now. I am
over the 5 am wake up call. So cute he was excited about DH coming home. Such cute pics!! So glad AF is back!! I have been having cramps all weekend myself. Look at that our cycle synchd up
@dojo: Yay for crawling!! We have out theme picked out. DH and I talked some about it yesterday since we went to a 1st bday party. We are just inviting family, which I hate, I want to invite our friends and their kids, but family alone is 40 people. With friends it would be over 50 adults and 15 kids invited and we just don't have that much room in our house in case it is cold out.

So R took great naps all weekend! I wish she would do it during the week. Separation anxiety is in full force. She freaked the F out on Friday night with my Mom here. DH and I were in our room getting dressed and she wouldn't stop crying. I left in tears. Mom said she drank 2ozs before she fell asleep. My mom stayed the night and the next morning still was only ok with her when she could see me. Then today did the same with my sister.
She went to town on some avocado abs guacamole for lunch. Didn't have much interest with the ground beef. Tried tortilla shell and ate that. Then wouldn't eat bread, carrots, and sausage for dinner. DH is putting her to bed cause I was starting to get frustrated. So tired from having to do everything and keep her out of stuff.
She is obsessed with the Christmas tree now. She also has been talking a ton this weekend. She let go of something a lot more to stand by herself unsupportive this weekend.

@ALV91711: Awww, sorry Isaac woke up so many times! Hopefully won't you are moved and settled in, he won't wake up so much!
@shopaholic: Yikes - sorry to hear AF has been rough for you! So far (CD 1), it seems to be going okay, haha. Although I forgot how annoying it was to deal with!
@Smurfette: Believe me, I am as surprised as you that Xander slept so long!! He took long naps today too, so I wonder if maybe he's sick or something! Or maybe he knew Mama was getting AF and needed her rest?? Who knows! I really hope R starts sleeping in for you - waking up at 5:00 a.m. SUCKS. And that's too funny about our cycles syncing!!
Awww, so sorry to hear about R's anxiety!!! That must've been so hard to leave her when she was crying like that! Did you have any fun at the party? How long did you end up staying?? That must've been rough for your mom too to have R so upset with her. I'm jealous of R's eating though! Xander STILL hasn't eaten any puffs or other finger foods yet! I've tried apples, carrots, bananas (which I thought he ate before, but isn't eating now), puffs, bread. He seems to know that he should eat it because he'll bring it to his mouth and even bite into things, but then just spit everything back out!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Smurfette: 40 is a lot of people for a party! Is the weather nice where you are in March. Sadly we will never be able to have an outdoor party in March, there is usually some snow on the ground still. I hope the anxiety gets better soon.
@Adira: That is good that he is putting the food to his mouth and tasting it. Soon enough he will be eating it up.
It is crazy with the sleep because the night before he only got up once.
Isaac is pretty much refusing baths. 3 of the last 4 nights, but not in a row, he won't sit down. He stiffens his body the best he can and even tickling won't relax him. It is almost like he just wants to get to bed. So I just hold him and DH gives him a quick wipe down. Usually he loves to splash in the bubbles and play with some tupperware.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: the party was ok. It was at the aquarium so we got to walk around and look at everything. But traffic was horrible so we were there later, and then by the time we grabbed food, and DH talked to people, we only saw two things. I was bummed. We were home 1015 or so. It was over at 10. Yeah 15 mins to get home and traffic took us an hour to get there. Mom said it was fine, when I kept apologizing. I know she understands, just a phase she is in. At least she doesn't do it when I drop her off at day care.
I am going try carrots and sausage again tonight. Maybe tonight it will go better.
@ALV91711: We live in Atlanta, so it would be 60/70 or 30/40....these babies!! Why do they always change what they like?!?!? That would be hard not liking the bath.
DH had to leave this week so solo parenting again. Fingers crossed I survive. I am dreading it for some reason........
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Hmm... what time are you guys usually giving him a bath and putting him to bed? Do you think starting earlier might help? I have no advice - Xander loves taking a bath, but we only give him one twice a week because of his eczema.
@Smurfette: That's too bad the traffic was terrible and you weren't able to see very much while you were at the party! Bummer!! I'm glad your mom was so understanding about the whole thing. I feel like my parents would be understanding, but my in-laws would give me a hard time about it, like it's my fault he doesn't know them well enough. Oh well! Good thing she's okay with daycare! Probably because she sees them almost every day and is very comfortable with everyone there.

Not going to lie ladies, I'm already sick of AF. I forgot what a hassle she was!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I really don't think it was that she doesn't my Mom. Mom picked her up from day care that day I was sick and last saw her two weeks before that. I really like think it was cause we were at home and she picked up that we were leaving.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Ahhh, that could definitely be it. Poor R! I guess that's why it worked out okay with Xander that we left during his nap so he just didn't know any better!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: My sister babysat in Sept and R started to freak out, so she took her outside and they walked around out back. Came back and we were gone, said R was fine. but I guess R is smarter now, cause it didn't work. Heck, she even stayed the night at their house, a month ago, and was totally fine. My parents are coming out on Saturday so we will see how it goes cause we are going somewhere outside the house with them.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: You only have yourself to blame for producing such a smart baby. Xander's not that smart so we don't have to deal with these issues.
