@Adira: Told you he didn't hate you!
@ALV91711: I hope he takes some good naps for you
@shopaholic: I agree with @Adira, R is all over the place but I so prefer this. I can eat with out having to hold/wear her and can leave her on the floor to just play while I do something. I felt like the whole 12 weeks I was holding or nursing her. It is exhausting chasing after her though. She gets into everything these days. Some days I am glad that I work and I don't have to entertain her all day. Is that bad?
I am 90% sure R's tooth broke through last night. She woke up right before we had to leave, so I only got one chance at day care to feel in her mouth. I am pretty sure I felt it through the gum, but then she clamped up. Her teacher was going to check for me today.
R is just not drinking her bottles. Yesterday, 5oz, 5oz, 4oz, 5oz, and this morning only 4oz.
Does anyone else LO's want to be fed table food at times? Last time R wouldn't touch her avocado and turkey. I spoon fed her and she ate it all. But Sunday night she ate the same thing and fed herself. I don't get it.

@Smurfette: I don't think it's bad that some days you are glad you don't have to entertain R all day! I feel the same way!! I LOVE my time with Xander, but I think working allows me to be more present when I'm actually with him and our time together is a higher quality. That week I had off and I was with Xander all day was exhausting! I looked forward to his naps and him going to bed at night!! I love love love him, but I definitely couldn't handle being a SAHM! Plus I feel like he's probably getting more quality interactions at daycare - they have so many different toys for him to use and different activities going on. I think he's better off there than home with me all day every day!
YAY tooth!!!! It's about time!!!! What number is this? 6?
And I have no advice about table food. As you know, Xander will only eat purees!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Well that makes me feel better! I couldn't handle being a SAHM either. I know she loves day care so it makes me feel less guilty about working. I would be exhausted or broke trying to figure out new stuff for her to do every day. I just wish she napped better there. I do feel guilty about that. She will nap for 2 hours at home in the morning, but we are jumping up and down if she naps for 50 mins at day care.
This is tooth 7! Lower lateral incisors (yes I totally looked up the name)
Have you tried more table foods yet?

I thought that this was interesting, says that girls get teeth before boys

@Smurfette: Oh wow, tooth 7!!! I wonder if Xander's working on his 7th or not... he's been fussier than usual, but that could be the whole wonder week thing.
And Xander's not following that guideline at all! He got his upper lateral incisors pretty much immediately after his upper central incisors! R has her upper lateral incisors already too, right?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yep! 4 on the top already. Although one is still working it's whole way down. If you look at it though, they have the upper lateral incisors under toddler but 9-13month range and the lower is 10-16 month range.

@silver1: Jumping babies are the cutest! I bet your ikea crib might last longer than you think. I find their stuff to be surprisingly strong sometimes!
@Adira: Sounds like Xander is a rollercoaster of emotions these days! I'm glad he was in a good mood for you yesterday. I find that Pete always acts the worst and whiniest for me. He is such a little angel when everyone else is around and he totally puts on the whine for his mama! Sigh, I guess that's part of the bond.
@Smurfette: Pete has had less interest in bottles this week too. I've been trying to give more in his morning bottle, which he gulps down, and have upped that one to 8 ounces. At daycare, he has drank 10 ounces each day, and then around 2-3 ounces from his nighttime bottle. I hope that's enough!
Hope that tooth did indeed break through for you!

@ALV91711: You must be so excited for your trip! Sounds like it will be a great chance to catch up with your family! I'm sure Isaac will do great on the flight.
@shopaholic: Just reading your post made me feel exhausted! That's a lot of work, especially if DH will be away. Is there any chance you can find someone to watch K for an hour or so one day so you can get a little rest time? Maybe a pedicure?

I can't believe that I just ordered 1st birthday invitations. I know really early, but my friend is due beginning of March so I wanted them off her plate. I ordered this skirt for her and going to order this onesie (in silver) for the party and her pictures. Just need a star headband!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: Oh my goodness that is so cute! I can't believe she has so many teeth! L started early but hasn't had any new ones in ages. Seems like his top side ones are close but have been forever.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: R's top side ones took 2 months to come in. How is the Nanny going? Sleep training?
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@Smurfette: Nanny is going well. Everything is pretty smooth and I sure like having someone else do his laundry and wash his bottles..... (I don't love my whole paycheck being handed over to her but alas....) Sleep training is not. We had to pause because he is sick. He is just getting over a nasty cold and it just wasn't happening. He falls asleep fine but still waking up lots and won't go back in his crib. We'll start to try again tonight probably.

Anyone else's LO going through ridiculous separation anxiety issues? He is glued to me lately and freaks out about even Daddy holding him- especially at night. Wearing me out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@travellingbee: Glad to hear having a nanny is going well! I'd LOVE to have someone do Xander's laundry and bottles (actually, Hubs does his bottles, so I guess I do have someone). Bummer he's been sick though and not sleeping well! Hopefully tonight goes better!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: He is still getting sick?? I was hoping the nanny was helping with it.
She freaked out the beginning of Dec but over the holidays was great. She has her moments but for the most part good.

@Smurfette: He caught a cold from his cousins over Christmas. Dumb luck.

@shopaholic: I really appreciated your comment on my personal blog about her "blossoming from so much love" - I never looked at it that way, but it really made my day reading that! She is still introverted, but has come such a long way.
You are seriously a supermom! I don't know how you do it without K napping, but it seems like she's still such a happy girl even without her sleep! I hope she makes life a little easier for you when DH goes to Mammoth!
@Smurfette: Such a cute skirt and onesie! Are you going to get her a glittery headband too?
@Adira: @Smurfette: I'm with you guys that I prefer a mobile, independent baby that I don't have to hold all the time. I'm much more of a fan of the toddler stage than the newborn stage! It's just so much fun once they start doing things on their own. Longer stretches of sleep help too.
@Adira: J is still in his wonder week too! He used to be sooo good about playing on his own. I could just put him down and he'd explore and I could get stuff done, but this past month he gets crazy the moment I try to set him down. He definitely knows how to say "mama" now because every time he sees me and I don't pick him up, or if he's in someone else's arms he'll start chanting "mamamamamamaaa.." - breaks my heart, and since he's my 2nd I totally give in!!
@travellingbee: Major separation anxiety issues going on over here. It broke my heart leaving J to go to work this morning because he just looked SO SAD. J is definitely a mama's boy. Now I have a mama's girl AND a mama's boy. Oy vey. Glad to hear the nanny is working out well though! Hopefully that'll ease some of the stress and give you a little extra downtime to do other things.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: Gahhh, totally jealous J can say "mama" or even something close to that! Xander doesn't do that. But he definitely whimpers and cries and will either reach for me (if he's in someone else's arms) or he'll crawl to me and try to climb up my leg, haha. Can't wait for this wonder week to end!!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: @Adira: I have 32 days left till this leap is over. Joy!
@Mrs. High Heels: Yes! I want a silver glittery star. I might try and make it myself.

@Mrs. High Heels: Isn't it the sweetest thing hearing "mama"? C says it a lot now, but I don't think he's actually referring to me. But it's still nice to hear
@Smurfette: OMG that first birthday outfit is the cutest thing ever!!! I finally settled on invitations, so I'll order them soon.
@travellingbee: Hopefully he starts feeling better soon!
I know I'm tempting the sleep gods by saying this, but Carter has slept through the night (6:30 pm-7:30 am) for the last 3 nights in a row. It has been so nice! Now if only I could sleep through the night too, we'd be all set! I kept waking up and checking the monitor.

Any chance there is room for one more little march monster and his mommy? My litle guy just turned 10 months on the 6th. I joined a little while ago and have seen this board off and on, and figured it was about time to finally jump in and say Hi!

@cheesehead: Awww!!! Your lil one has the same birthday as my K! Always always welcome another March mama and baby!
Fill out a lil questionnaire thing from the beginning of the post so we can all get to know and catch up with you and your lo!

@Smurfette: That outfit is so ridiculously cute. I won't lie. I am sooo behind on party planning and I have no energy to do anything for it. Maybe next week...
I'm SO tired. Had 3 girlfriends come over today/tonight. Cooked. Put away more holiday stuff.
I think I'm calling it an early night. I wish I could take something so I could sleep for 15 hours. And give some to K too. I need to catch up on zzzs....
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@jodyblair: Yes, even when he was just babbling random consonants and coincidentally uttered "mama" it was so nice to hear. Melts my heart!
That's amazing that C sleeps til 7:30 am - that has never happened to me! I usually put J down around 7-7:30 pm, but the latest he'll wake up is 6:30 am… this month, with the wonder week going on, he's been waking up at 5:30 am. It's so stressful in the mornings because these days I can't try to wake up before him to get ready for work unless I want to wake up before 5.

@Smurfette: omg that onesie is adorable! Boys can wear glitter too right??? I am amazed at that many teeth - we still have just the 4 but I keep thinking he's working on another one up top.
@travellingbee: sorry he's not feeling well! That would be super nice to have someone to help out with bottles/laundry!
@jodyblair: Liam says mama a lot too but like you said I don't really know that he's really referring to me - I'll take it though!
@cheesehead: welcome!
I'm feeling super behind on any sort of birthday party planning! I kept telling myself to start when Liam was 7 months and now I've only got a couple months! Less than that even! I did decide on a theme (alphabet)and have been madly pinning ideas. I'm hoping to make my own invitations and most of the decorations so I really need to get on top of things.
Daycare has mentioned that towards the end of the month they will have Liam start visiting/transitioning to the toddler room. Whhaatttt???!! Also that he will need to wear shoes. I guess I have an excuse for more tiny shoes!
Tonight I let him have few sips of my (watered down) orange juice and he loved it he kept pointing (if a whole hand point counts) at it and was really excited about it. He has been really chatty lately too babbling a lot and making lots of new sounds.

@cheesehead: Welcome!!
@shopaholic: 15 hours of sleep would be heaven. I so miss being able to sleep in on the weekends and just lay in bed.
@dojo: Day care told me they thought February too, but then this morning her teacher said it probably won't be till March cause they have to wait till their a spot in the next room. And there is one boy older then R that will move up first. Great we just ordered invitations based on the fact that she would be moved up and on a different nap time. Oh well, guess we will just figure out nap that day.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@travellingbee: We put 2-4 since the next room naps 1130-230. Right now she naps at 9 and then goes down again at 130-230, depending on how long she naps in the morning.
If anything we can keep her up longer in the morning so she takes one longer nap.
I shouldn't worry about it cause I am sure she is going to change it between now and then anyway.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Here is little mans info:
LO's name: Austin
Age: 10 months
Weight: 17lbs (@ 9 mo. appt)
Length: 28 in (@ 9 mo. appt)
Number of Teeth: 2
Clothing Size: mostly 9 months
Cruising, Crawling, or Walking: He's on to walking now. He can make it a good 10 ft or so before losing his concentration and falling down. Otherwise he finally just started crawling up on all 4's, and can cruise all over the house on the walls or with his push walker.
How many ounces of formula and/or Breast Milk per day: ~28ish oz BM, I EP and am finally starting to drop pumpings, down to 3x a day now!!
How many solid meals a day: 2 or 3
Any words: nothing I will call official yet, but he babbles all the time and has started "yelling" at our dogs, hahaha
Milestone you're most looking forward to: Walking w/o me having to worry what he will bump his head into next. His head is way bigger than the rest of him (99% head circ, 10% BW on the charts) so he's very top-heavy at the moment.
How's sleep going: Sleep is good, ~12hrs at night (no wake ups) and usually a 1-2hr nap during the day....he skipped the whole 2 nap idea, it's way more fun to play all day!
I can't believe it's already birthday planning time! You all are way ahead of me on that, I've only just realized that we will have to have a party. DH's extended family members have a party for every birthday and invite the whole family, so I don't think we can do anything smaller than that. Which means it will be 30+ people (with only my immediate family members included). Ugh!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheesehead: Yay! Welcome!!! Your little guy sounds like a peanut like mine!! Though I can't believe you have a walker already!!! Xander's JUST mastered crawling!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@cheesehead: Wow! Walking already. I can't wait for my R to start walking. Glad that you have a great sleeper. DH's family sounds like my family. We are having to just invite family, cause that alone is 35 adults and 14 kids (counting us). I am bummed we can't invite our friends and their kids but if it is cold we just don't have the room in our house.
cherry / 134 posts
@Adira: Thanks! He really hasn't mastered the crawling at all! Apparently it wasn't cool enough or something!? I would have much rather he crawled for awhile first....maybe he would have better balance and not whack his head on everything! hahaha
cherry / 134 posts
@Smurfette: Right, I'd love to be able to invite friends too, but where do you put them all!? I just did a quick count and am at 25 adults and 14 kids (13 - 3). Trying to fit everyone in my house is going to be a challenge with just family. I'm thinking it might be easier to just find a place to have it at...avoid the stress and the mess!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@cheesehead: Welcome! Walking! Yay!
So L did an interesting thing last night. He is well enough to CIO again so we started anew. He went down fine (a few minutes of crying) but when he woke at 1230 he was inconsolable. So I fed him. Then he cried when I put him back in his crib. We kissed him and closed the door and then he cried for 1/2 hour-- we checked on him but this generally makes him more upset in the MOTN CIO. Anyway, after 1/2 hour, he just stopped crying and sat there. He waved his blankey in the air and played with his wubanub briefly, but mostly just sat there. For A HALF HOUR! Then he crawled to the head of the crib and laid down and went to sleep. Weirdo! He's never just sat in his crib like that! Then he slept the rest of the night.

@shopaholic: As exhausting as it may be it is so awesome that your sister has you to help out. I can't believe all the words that K says. I hope your solo week goes well and you don't get too exhausted.
@Smurfette: Yesterday Isaac would not have any cereal until he ate half a banana, then he was interested. So now I'm trying to do finger foods for all three meals. Such an adorable outfit!
@Smurfette: @Adira: Being home all day every day is very hard and tiring. I don't know how mama's do it with more kiddo's. Although the last month or so is getting easier as he is getting more independent, and especially now that he can crawl and get the toys he wants. Part of me looks forward to going back to work and him going to daycare, even though I will miss the heck out of him.
@jodyblair: I hope he keeps up sleeping through the night that is awesome!
@dojo: I haven't done any party planning either! That seems crazy that he is already moving up rooms. They are growing too fast.
@cheesehead: Welcome! I can't believe he is walking! And what a good sleeper you have, can he teach Isaac about sleep?!?!
@travellingbee: That is good that he is only waking up once. Hopefully soon he will get it. And at least he wasn't crying the whole time.
Our last two nights have been a bit better. Last night he woke up at 11pm screaming and then didn't wake again until 4:30am but then I could not get him to go back to sleep after nursing. He was not happy but didn't want to be cuddled, but didn't want to be away from me. Finally just before 6 he nursed and dozed off for about 20 min. Then DH got up with him so I could sleep until he left for work.
But getting up twice is better than three times. Hopefully tonight will be better.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@jodyblair: 3 nights in a row? How did he do last night?!
@ALV91711: @Smurfette: Yeah I def. think it's a good sign! I was giddy this morning!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: So when I picked up R yesterday they said that they laid her down for an afternoon nap and she vomited all over her sheet. They only even noticed it cause of the smell. I guess the bug Xander had is in GA. They had to send one girl home cause she vomited three times in a row. She hardly drank any of her bottles yesterday, so I guess that is why. She seemed fine to me, gave her applesauce for dinner, and she drank most of her bottle. This morning she drank all 7 ozs, so hopefully she is feeling better
