Girls!!! I pumped 19 oz today!!! Maybe my supply is finally recovering!!!! Of course, tomorrow is the weekend, which will probably mess it up again...

@Adira: Nice Work!! Don't forget to drink lots of water...I can notice when I haven't drank enough, I'm usually a few oz. down by the end of the day.

With all the birthday talk on here, I spent a fairly unproductive day at work browsing through etsy invites! hahaha There are SO many cute ones!! What do you ladies think of this one? http://www.etsy.com/listing/160963128/print-your-own-little-monster-halloween?ref=shop_home_active_6 Anyone know average costs to get invites printed out? I haven't gotten anything like this printed before.

@cheesehead: I love that!!! Adorable!!! As for price, I just ordered 25 invitations from mpix.com for $25 (although with shipping, it was $33). Not sure if that's a good price or not... I'll have to see how they come out!

    @Adira: Yay nice work!!
Im down to last minute shopping/packing for the trip. fingers crossed flight with LO goes smoothly I am hoping he sleeps thru most of it!

@cheesehead: Those are so adorable! No clue on pricing, I've never had invites printed either.

@Adira: I can't remember, what are you doing for your theme?

@silver1: I hope your flight and trip are great! I'm sure he will do fine. Isaac has slept through every flight I've taken him on, although he hasn't been on one longer than 1.5 hours.

He woke up at 6am today! So much better. He woke up once at 10pm and just fussed for about 10 min and went back to sleep and then he got up at midnight, then the dreaded 4:30. I tried to just leave him but he started to get more and more upset, so I got him, he nursed and went back to sleep.

    @Adira: yay!
@cheesehead: those are super cute!! I have gotten invitations printed at Staples/Office Max but I don't remember how much it cost. I just ordered mine and they were $30. Luckily my friend designed them so that part was free. I am not sure what company she uses to order hers. She has an etsy shop so does a lot.
@ALV91711: glad he went back to sleep!

R woke up again at 530. I think as the week goes on and she doesn't get the naps she needs she just doesn't sleep as well. She just fell asleep after fighting her nap for 30 mins. Crazy girl! It is pouring rain here. I hope it stops I don't want to be in the house all day.

@ALV91711: I'm doing a retro robot theme. It kind of came from the monthly onesie stickers I bought - they have cute robots on them and I'm planning on displaying those pictures, so a robot theme sounded fun. Plus I found an awesome invite and party pieces. Here's our invite:

How many "meals" of solids are you guys doing? Are any of you doing snacks as well? Our pediatrician said that by 12 months, she wants Xander on 3 meals and 2 snacks, but I'm not really sure how to do the snacks or if he even needs them yet...

Also, how much are your LOs eating at meals? I feel like sometimes Xander eats a lot of solids, but maybe that's just me? I'm not really sure what's normal. And if it is a lot, should I be feeding him a snack somewhere in there instead? He usually eats 3.5 oz for breakfast, 6-7 oz for lunch, and lately 7-10 oz for dinner. I know for those of you doing finger foods, it'll probably be harder to judge how much they are eating...

@Adira: Yay for great pumping output and what a cute birthday card! I'm trying for 2-3 meals a day and I guess I give snacks here and there, but it's not something conscious or planned. I feel like it's kind of lumped together. If I have to think about 3 meals & 2 snacks a day, plus naps, plus nursing, plus play/activity time... I think I would need to put our lives on a schedule in a spreadsheet. lol.

  12. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: He gets three meals a day. Breakfast is about 3tbsp or so of cereal or a 100g container of yogurt. Although the more he nurses at night the less he eats at breakfast. Lunch is some fruit and then some puree, up to half a small jar. Dinner is some vegetables and a veggie puree mixed with home made chicken puree. He'll eat a few bites of veggies and up to a whole small jar. It just depends what it is that he gets.

The other day I gave him some puffs in the afternoon for a snack. I think he is ready for an afternoon snack as the last couple days he has wanted to nurse and extra time.

With meals and nursing it feels like he is always eating, I can't imagine with snacks as well, but then I guess the more he eats the less he will start nursing. Starting about 10.5-11 months we'll be working on cutting out daytime nursing, not sure how this boob monster will like that.

@shopaholic: On demand nursing in the first few months was so much easier than all this eating!

    @Adira: Those are too cute!!
Three meals and one snack. How much depends on the day. For sure half a banana every morning. No matter what she eats her banana. Today she ate a couple pieces of carrots and Mac n Cheese for lunch. Oh and some puffs. Will skip a snack and do an earlier dinner.

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: this is what she had for dinner. First pic is the before and 2nd after. I did give her more meat, and then she left half of it.but you can see she didn't eat much today. She did have a mum package an hour earlier and has drank all her 7ozs bottles. Some nights she eats everything.

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: @Smurfette: Wow, based on what you girls said, I feel like Xander eats a LOT... maybe he's not getting enough breast milk? But during the week, he's getting at least 18 oz at daycare plus his morning session, which I suspect is 6-7 oz, so maybe 24-25 oz. How much formula does R get, Smurfette?

Ladies - do you ever want to search back through our March Mamas thread to find say when LO started doing XYZ? Our threads are so inundating - I think it needs it's own "search". lol!

Trying to blog and post the past 10 months for my own references and I've already forgotten so many things....

@Adira: He is probably just trying to bulk up!!

@shopaholic: I try and remember to put things in the calendar on my phone in hopes of transferring the info to his baby book one of these days.

Isaac just got his first split lip! I was cleaning up dinner and he was playing with his activity cube and slipped on another toy. Poor kid. 15 min of cuddling and watching sesame street and he is now back to monkeying around. He won't let me put ice or anything on it though, hopefully it doesn't affect nursing.

@ALV91711: awww!!! poor baby! Maybe you can try to put some Aquaphor on it? Or, if he doesn't let you apply, try putting a bit on your lips and give him a smooch? K gets "chapstick" or aquaphor sometimes from me this way!

  19. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: We give her 4 7ozs bottles so she drinks 20-28ozs a day. Just depends on her mood.
@shopaholic: I know! I feel like I am forgetting so much.
@ALV91711: aww, poor guy!! Glad he was back to running around!

@adira I absolutely love those invitations!!!

We put a deposit down at a nature center today for K's 1st bday party! I am so relieved we found a place that is reasonable and awesome and can hold our 80 person guest list. I wish the March mamas lived closer!! I'm so excited to be able to start planning this nature themed party. Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend!

  21. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@sheskrafty: 80?!?! Crazy! We would have 60 (kids and adults) if we invited our friends. Which we might do, late notice, if the weather is nice. So we are just having family, 35 adults and 13 kids invited. What are you doing for food?

  22. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@shopaholic: I actually posted a suggestion to have the ability to see the dates things were posted instead of just "8 months ago" because I look back at the March threads ALL THE TIME to try to figure out when Xander met certain milestones! If you think that might be useful, maybe you could say something to Mr. Bee?

    http://suggestions.hellobee.com/topic/have-option-to-see-date-posted

@ALV91711: Oh no!!! Poor baby!!!! I'm glad he's back to his normal self, but man, that must've hurt! Hopefully it doesn't affect his ability to nurse! Maybe try to keep it moisturized so it doesn't pull painfully?

@sheskrafty: Oh wow! 80 people?? That sounds like so much fun! It's crazy these babies are turning 1 soon and we're planning parties for them already!!

  23. sheskrafty

    persimmon / 1165 posts

@Smurfette @Adira: 25/80 are kids. There are lots of outdoor trails and an indoor nature center so hopefully there is a lot of space and won't be too overwhelming for K. We were going to have it at our house but its tiny and could only invite family. We haven't had a party since our wedding in 2011 so we opened up the guest list. For food we are going to do some hoagie trays, tomato pies, soft pretzel nubs, fruits, veggies, cheese/olives/cured meat/hummus tray, Mac n cheese. A very Philly spread but its easy. The big question is do I get a fancy cake or just a sheet cake? I love planning parties, just trying to keep it low key because I tend to go overboard and stress myself out. But I am sooooo excited!!!

  24. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@sheskrafty: I think a sheet cake for the guests is fine. Just a special cake for K!!

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@sheskrafty: I'd def do a sheet cake! You can have just a little special cake for K, but sheet cake for the rest!

I was actually thinking cake too... I don't know if Xander will even be eating finger foods by then, but if he is, I'm thinking I might make him his own special dairy free cake (might be gross, but I'm actually thinking of trying to bake it with BM...), and then regular cake (cupcakes probably) for everyone else.

When is Wonder Week 46 supposed to end? Because Xander has been a DREAM the last few days, so I'm wondering if we're out of the woods! He's been in such a good mood and so much fun to play with! Loving this new side of him!!!

  27. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: We are in leap 7. It lasts for weeks 41.5-46.5. We are at 42.5. 44 has the thunderbolt by it. Super

So R is officially back in the 530 club. Super. Breaks my heart that she isn't getting the sleep she needs cause I work.

  28. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Thanks! I just calculated it and Xander is 46 weeks this week, so presumably he's still in the leap, but he's definitely past the thunderclouds and he's been acting a LOT better the past couple days!

Ugh, I hear you about 5:30 - Xander's been waking up then too! Luckily it's just to eat and then he goes back to bed. If you leave R in her crib, will she eventually go back to sleep? Or does she cry until you get her?

  29. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: It goes by the due date. Wasn't he a little late?
She will talk to herself, then lay back down, but then starts to cry. She fell asleep in the car this morning. I know she is exhausted still.

  30. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Oh, due date?? No, Xander was a week early, so that means technically he's only in week 45? Although that's still past the thunderbolts!!

Poor R. Babies are just so dumb - why don't they just sleep when they need it?? At least she fell asleep in the car, but still...

  31. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Yeah when I set up the app I had to put her due date not her bday. Weird.
I know I don't get it. The less sleep she gets the crappier her sleep is. So she got 10.5 hours last night. And what will get an hour at day in naps. So NOT enough sleep.

We installed her convertible seat yesterday. Baby growing up!

  32. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Xander didn't get enough sleep last night either. I had to wake him up at 9.5 hours to nurse him and then he didn't fall back asleep for the longest time, so he was only going to get another hour before Hubs woke him. I'm hoping he naps okay at daycare though...

Yay convertible seat!!! How is she liking it? How do YOU like it? I find it a lot harder to strap Xander in now that I have to do it while standing outside the car while he's in it. And the straps are hard to tighten while in the car. BUT I think I have them set to the right length now so I don't have to loosen/tighten them. But it's a little harder to snap Xander in with the straps already tight.

  33. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: Well the important thing was could she still fall asleep for long trips. Since she slept for 5-10 mins this morning in the car, I think it is a success. She didn't seem to notice any difference. It is so hard to tighten the straps though. Which is super annoying. We have the Chico NextFit. But I texted another Bee last night who has it and she said it gets a little easier with time. Also that once you turn FF, it is a lot easier. But that doesn't really help now.

  34. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: That's awesome she fell asleep in it! Xander hasn't fallen asleep in his yet, but he's only gone to and from daycare (10 minute drive), so he hasn't had a chance yet. I also think our seat will be easier to tighten the straps once it's FF, but that won't be for a while! Oh well.

  35. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@sheskrafty: Wow, 80 is so many!! Sounds like good food. I would do a sheet cake and a small special cake for K.

@Adira: You should definitely make him his own little dairy free cake!

@Smurfette: I hope she gets out of the 5:30 club soon. We seem to be having one normal morning (6am ish) and then one or two 4:30am. Yuck!

@Adira: I kind of hate it when Isaac falls asleep in his seat since it means he gets woken up when we get where we are going. That is the one thing I miss about the infant one.

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@ALV91711: haha, I might do it, even if he's not going to eat it! He needs something right so I can put a candle on it and blow it out?? I'll just have to warn others away that it's made with BM, haha.

Oh yes! I am scared that Xander will fall asleep in his car seat on the way home from daycare and then I'll have to wake him! So far he's been good about taking his naps at daycare though and I haven't had to deal with it.

  37. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: @Adira: R wakes up as soon as the car stops, so I didn't have to worry about this.

  38. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

@Adira: That is good to hear that he has been napping good.

I'm hoping Isaac naps at his normal time this morning, our baby group is starting up again after Christmas break and I'm really looking forward to getting out of the house and being around other people, if only for an hour. If he naps late then we will miss it.

  39. ALV91711

    pomelo / 5621 posts

I gave Isaac WCM today with his afternoon snack. He seemed to like it. He drank about 2 ounces. We are going to be giving it to him every afternoon and then in the couple weeks leading up to one transition him to it for the day time. I'm going to continue breast feeding morning and night for a while. I'll see what his interest is as he gets bigger.

  40. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@ALV91711: that is great that he liked it!!

R didn't drink her bottles again today. Nor tonight. Also she didn't really eat Mac n Cheese for me all weekend and she gobbled it up at day care. Stinker.
