@Smurfette: Yeah, the nanny is working out well. He does have a little cough right now that I think he must have gotten from a birthday party we went to. But it doesn't seem to be affecting him terribly.

@travellingbee: That is great. R has had a runny nose for over a month now. Another reason I want winter over with!!!

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

Oh my gosh, I forgot to tell you girls!!! Xander FINALLY strung together "ma ma ma ma" over the weekend!!!! He only did it TWICE, but it was when he was being whiny and wanted me to pick him up and was basically clinging to my leg, so I THINK he kind of understood he was talking about me!!!! Melt my heart!! Of course, then when I was all "Did you say Mama???? Mama! Say Mama!! Mama! Maaaaaaamaaaaaa!" he refused to repeat it, haha. But I heard it twice and Hubs heard it once, so I think it really happened!

@Adira: Yay! L always says Mama when he is upset or tired and Dada when he is happy and playing. Not fair.

  7. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@travellingbee: It's not fair, BUT at least you know L associates YOU with comfort! He wants Mama to be the one to comfort him, and that's heart-melty!

@Smurfette: Constant faucet nose sucks. I'm so sick of trying to wrangle them into letting me clean their noses. I'm joining you in counting down to the end of winter/cold & flu season.

    LO: Elliot & Finn

    Age: 10 months

Size: Not sure, but about a month ago, E was 19 1/2 lbs and F was 18 lbs. I have no clue what their height is. Their 9 month appt is actually at the end of January...it's very late.

Physical milestones: Finn crawls, pulls up, climbs, like he's been doing, but nothing super new. Oh, they both started waving, though, so that's fun. Elliot has just started letting go of things and standing for a few seconds and took his first steps this weekend. I think it will be a while before he's really walking though.

Talking?: They mostly just babble still. Elliot has said Mama a few times and Dada once, but I'm not convinced they knew what they were saying. The last couple weeks, it seems more like they are *trying* to communicate when they babble, we just don't understand any English in there!

Eating: 3 meals of solids a day and 4-5 bottles of 6-8 oz. Both love solids, but Finn is much better at finger foods than Elliot--he just would rather sit there while you put it in his mouth. Elliot eats slowly and carefully, and we literally have to ration what we put on Finn's tray because he'll shove ALL of it in his mouth before he tries to chew. He gets down a surprising amount of food that way, though.

Sleeping: We are mostly sleeping 11-12 hours, which has been soooo nice. The exception to that is that E has had more night wake ups with teething lately.

Birthday Plans: I have to get going on this soon. Yikes. We're planning a pretty simple Two-by-Two Noah's Ark theme. I think we're going to just do it at our house and just family because that will already be a big crowd in our small house. March is tough in our part of the country because it could easily be a blizzard or 85 degrees. So using a park or something is kind of out and I don't want to spend a lot of money. I'm going to make the cake (with little smash cakes for each boy) and have some decor and honestly, probably not much else!

What you're looking forward to: (1) Their birthday. (2) Walking well - It's so hard to go anywhere by myself with them because I need to take them in their car seats to be able to set one down and open doors, etc. This is not fun because it's getting super heavy and they don't like being in the seats. I'm so ready for them to be able to walk well enough to just hold my hands when we go in somewhere. (3) Starting to talk--I just can't wait to know what's going on in their little heads. (4) Learning to love reading books and not just eating them.

Sibling plans, if any: We're planning to add a Baby Blue at some point in the next two years, but not sure exactly when. We are pretty sure we'll start TTC by Jan. 2015 (crazy, that it is only a year away), but we might start a few months earlier, depending on our situation and our mood and maybe the way the wind blows. We're indecisive!

Other updates: Both boys finally got teeth - top and bottom at the same time. They each have three and are working on one more. Kind of crazy how much they do at the exact same time, like teething. DH accepted a job offer in a city two hours from my parents, which I'm super excited about. We won't be moving until August. It looks like I'll probably get to stay home or at least only work part time, so that's really exciting.

  13. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@Adira: I love that he makes kissy face and high fives! The boys do those adorably gross open mouthed kisses, but they've never made a kiss face. I love that!

  14. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Mrs. Blue: haha, yeah, have I posted his kissy face here? I will right now. But he'll make a kissy face and then when I lean in close, he opens his mouth and sticks out his tongue and just licks me!

@Smurfette: YES! DH refuses to use the Nose Frieda. He will at least attack a baby nose with a Boogie Wipe, though.

  17. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Mrs. Blue: haha, yes, it definitely melted my heart the first couple times! But now he tries to distract me while he's eating by doing that face every couple seconds! And he wants me to come in for a kiss and won't stop making the face until I do! Then he'll have maybe one or two bites of food and make the face again!

@Adira: That kissy face is too adorable!! Why doesn't R do that?
@Mrs. Blue: I love the two by two theme. Have you seen the Noah's Ark Little People. R got it for Christmas, so stinking cute. Congrats that DH got a new job. That will be so nice to be closer to your parents. Are you going to have to sell a house?

    LO: Reagan
Age: 10 months and 10 days
Size: She was 18.02lbs on the 10th
Physical Milestones: Stands by herself without holding on, goes down in a squat and stands up without pulling up on anything, taken two steps a handful of times but I don't think she is ready to walk yet. Hoping for my Bday, early Feb.
Talking?: She says Dada, Mama, hey, and then the rest no clue what she is saying but she talks all the time.
Eating: 4 4-7ozs bottles. Some days she does all 7oz in all her bottles, some days she does 4-5 each bottle. Then she gets 3 meals a day. Pretty much eating all table food. I want to start working on her feeding herself with a spoon.
Sleeping: 7:00-5:00/630 Lately she wakes up around 530, but we don't get her till after 6:00
Birthday Plans: Party!! At our house. Just inviting family I am bummed we don't have room for our friends and their kids. But if it it cold we can't fit them all in our house. But the house is going to be full of pink, stars, silver, and glitter. I am so excited. Just keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather.
What you're looking forward to: Walking! I really can't wait to dress her in shoes every day and being a little more independent. And talking, I can't wait to know what she is thinking and what she wants. And I really want her to move past the let's put everything in my mouth stage.
Sibling plans, if any: Talking about TTC when she is 18 months.
Number of Teeth: 6 but 7 and 8 are right there.

    LO: Isaac

    Age: 10 months today

Size: Was 19lbs 12oz at his 9 month appt. Can't remember height

Physical milestones: Crawling, pulling up, clapping, waving

Talking?: He can say dada, right now all he says is na na na na na. I wish he would say mama
Eating: 3 meals a day. Some finger foods and some pures. An afternoon snack with some cows milk. And nursing on demand.

Sleeping: It has been horrible lately but the last couple nights have been improving. He's getting up 2-3 times to nurse, although I think it is mostly comfort nursing.

Birthday Plans: A very small party at our house March 15. Both our mom's are flying out for the weekend and there will be about 3-4 other people here probably.

What you're looking forward to: Cruising, being able to use his walker and his first step.

Sibling plans, if any: (look there's a lot of talk on other threads lately about this, so I gotta ask!) We haven't discussed this in a long time. I'm not sure were we stand right now, although I think leaning towards one or else it will be 2-3 years.

Teeth: Still only three on the bottom. The top two front are so close but just won't cut through.

Physical milestones: Crawling all over the place, pulling up to his knees, dancing, clapping, waving, standing while holding onto walker, giving kisses and high fives
Talking?: Says Mama all the time but I'm not convinced he knows what it means. Lots of babbling
Eating: 3 meals a day (mostly finger foods with some purees thrown in) and sometimes an afternoon snack. Still nursing 5-6 times a day.
Sleeping: Usually sleeps 6:30-6:30. Sometimes wakes up around 3:30 to nurse.
Birthday Plans: A monster party at our house. I'm so excited!
What you're looking forward to: He has been so much fun lately and I know it's just going to keep getting better! I guess I'm looking forward to his birthday the most.
Sibling plans, if any: Probably won't start TTC until Spring 2015
Teeth: 4 bottom and 2 top. The drooling has picked up again, so I'm wondering if some more are on their way.

Size: He was 20 lb 2 oz and 27.5 inches at 9 month check up
Physical milestones: Crawling, climbing stairs, cruising, standing unassisted, clapping, waving, dancing. He just gets more and more fun each day!
Talking?: Argh, no not at all! Grunting, squealing, very communicative, but no words and hardly any consonants.
Eating: He's sick this week with no appetite but usually, he is an eating machine. Adores finger foods, great chewer. Never turns new foods down. Drinks about 20 ounces of formula.
Sleeping: 6:30pm - 5:00am, usually. When he's at home, he naps for about 3 hours during the day. When at daycare, it's more like 1.5 hr.
Birthday Plans: Undecided! Depends on whether or not we have a house by then. And, whether or not we have any money left after buying said house.
What you're looking forward to: Talking, walking, summertime
Sibling plans, if any: I'm starting to have pregnancy-lust, if that is a term. We probably will wait until the late summer though, at the earliest.

@Adira: Love the kissy face!! Awesome that he said mama! That must of just melted your heart.

@Mrs. Blue: Congrats on your hubby's job and the move. That will be awesome to stay home with the boys, even part time. They will be at such a fun age then.

    @Adira: Love that kissy face!

    LO: Kaitlyn
    Age: 10.5 months
Size: 27.4" and 16lbs 3oz at her 9 month appt. I weighed "us" a couple weeks ago and got 16.9lbs. I wish we could go to the doc just to get stats! Funny - can still wear some separates in 0-3 and 3-6 (just as cropped or 3/4 sleeves), but mostly wearing Baby Gap 6-12 and Carter's 9m. Buying all 12 month clothing now, which seems like "big kid" clothes!
Physical milestones: crawls, pulls up, cruising, working on walking with the walker on carpet (the wood is way too fast), waves, gives high fives, claps, plays peek-a-boo, starting to shake no.
Talking?: Very inconsistent. Seems to like a word and then forget it. Most recently it was "duck" for a week, but hasn't said it in a few days. Mama is now favored over Dada.
Eating: Purees, some table food, still breastfeeding round the clock.
Sleeping: About 9:30 - 9:00 if I'm lucky. But since teething, we've had lots more wake-ups, which I think are just out of habit now. Usually wakes up to nurse around 2am, 6 am, and 8 am. Will work on weaning night feedings after I get naps consistent. Naps have greatly improved for us in Month 10. She's dropped the on/off 3rd nap, and I've been getting 1 hour naps twice a day most weekdays, if I stay on the 2-3-4 schedule strictly. Weekends and visitors always throw a wrench in the naps.
Birthday Plans: PARTY! March 1st at a clubhouse. Trying to get into super planning/prepping mode starting this week.
What you're looking forward to: STTN again with even just one wakeup would be fine.
    Sibling plans, Not yet.
Number of Teeth: 6 (4 on top, 2 on bottom).

    LO: Viviana
    Age: 10 months
    Size: 18M clothing, twenty-something pounds.
Physical milestones: Crawls very fast, cruising, walking with walker or along furniture, squatting, standing against walls or furniture.
Talking?: A lot! Mama, Baba (Albanian for Daddy), Nana, Num Nums (our word for nursing), Hajde (Albanian for "come"), Go, "I go", "Vivi go", Yeah, "Night Night", Hey, "I got it", "Ok", and as of today - "I love you".
Eating: Breastfeeding constantly, eating reasonably well. Favorite foods are beans, bananas, squash, and eggs.
Sleeping: 10PM to 10AM ish. 1-2 naps, depends on the day.
Birthday Plans: Bird themed party at our house!
What you're looking forward to: Walking. And more words!
Sibling plans: Eventually. We will probably try for #2 in two or three years.
    Number of Teeth: 8.

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@QueensBee: P and R are the same with naps, awesome with us and craptastic with day care. They started her afternoon nap at 130 yesterday, finally at 215 they got her, since she pooped, gave her a bottle, and put her back down. It was 325 before she fell asleep. Two hours later!!
@shopaholic: Glad that naps are getting better. We just plan our weekends around her nap. When she wakes up from her morning, get her dressed, bottle, and we go. Run our errands and lunch to make sure we are home before the 2nd nap. She falls asleep in the car and we have to drive around so she gets a good nap. I love how naps run our lives now!! Will she not nap if people are over?R doesn't like it but she will fall asleep.
I sat R on our scale and it said she was 15lbs and the next day at the doctor she was 18. So don't trust your scale. We only got R weighted cause we had to take her about her rash. I told DH to do it cause I wanted to know.
@Arden: I still can't believe how many words she says. Amazing.
@ALV91711: That is so great that your Mom's are both flying out for his party.

    LO: Jay
    Age: 10 months
Size: mostly 18m/24mo clothing although he can still wear kimono t-shirts in 9/12 mo size. He was about 21.5 pounds and 29.5" at 9 mo
Physical milestones: pulling up (not quite standing), sitting and jumping to move around, clapping, waving.
Talking?: Mama, Baba, wawa, baby, hey, bye, ah lala and other babbles
Eating: 3 solid meals, 4 4-8oz bottles. Lately he has been refusing food and just wants to drink milk which Im hoping is due to teething and he is back to eating solids again, We also recently started adding some cow's milk to his afternoon bottle.
Sleeping: 8pm-8am and 2 naps during the day totaling about 3 hours.
Birthday Plans: Prince themed party! Its going to be a small party at home with family and close friends.
What you're looking forward to: Cruising, talking more words, understanding and responding back.

So K has had this weird rash on her pubic bone area for a few days, At first it started like red bumps, I kept putting Triple Paste, and now they kind of look like the bumps popped open. So I'm thinking it's healing. But I might still call the per to see if he can check it out. Weird though right? It's not where typical diaper rashes are, and we haven't changed any diapers or creams or soaps.

@Smurfette: @QueensBee: Oh, gah, yeah, daycare sleep is wretched for us, too. I don't understand it. I know there's a lot more activity there, but at home they will take a morning and afternoon nap that are both 1.5-2 hours, but at daycare if we get 1.5-2 hours TOTAL it's a good day.

I'm always falling behind on this thread so it's fun to see where everyone is at!

    LO: Liam
    Age: 11 months
Size: wearing some 6-12 months, some 9 months. Not sure about height and weight until his next. Since he's become mobile I don't think he's been gaining much.
Physical milestones: crawling fast, pulling/pushing up to stand - he will let go and stand for a second or two on his own but hasn't really figured it out completely), walking with his walkers, clapping, waving, shaking his head no (but I think he thinks it is a game he will do it when we say no-no-no) He also has been all about 'sharing' he will pick something up and look at it then try to give it to us dropping it in our hands
Talking?: He has really gotten into saying dog the last couple days (but it comes out as 'daw' since he doesn't really make the g sound) he will reach for the dogs and say it over and over. Lots of babbling and occasional mama/dada/nana
Eating: He has been a really great about eating everything until this past weekend - I think he had an upset tummy and now only wants to eat banana and crackers the proteins/veggies he will try to 'share' it with us or more often the dogs. Hopefully he will start eating more soon. Other than that still nursing 2-3 times a day during the week with 2 bottles of breastmilk at daycare. (I am really really looking forward to ditching my pump soon in about a month)
Sleeping: we have good nights and bad nights.
Birthday Plans: Party at our house with family and friends. Alphabet theme.
What you're looking forward to: Taking steps/walking, more talking
Sibling plans, if any: Not right now. We will probably talk about it next year - I think I am planning on taking 2014 to really have my body back.

@Smurfette: When it takes her two hours to get to sleep does she just play in her crib happy? Just curious since if Isaac isn't asleep in his crib he is usually awake and mad.

@silver1: I'm glad your trip has been relaxing! A prince theme party will be awesome, can't wait to see pictures of that.

@shopaholic: I would definitely take her in to have it checked if it isn't clearing up. Plus the bonus of being able to get her stats. It was nice at the beginning when you had to go so often for check ups, so you always new what they weighed.

@dojo: It makes me glad we don't have a dog to eat up the food as Isaac already likes throwing his food on the floor too much, I can't imagine if there was someone there wanting to eat it! That is too cute that he shares with you.

I just love everything these babies are learning. It is so much fun to see them explore new things.

@ALV91711: Well since it was at day care she was fine. She stands up and looks out the window, looks for anyone walking by. But that two hours, she wasn't in the crib the whole time. They took her out after 30/45 mins, changed her diaper, and feed her a bottle, and then put her back in there. Then it took another 30+ Mins to fall asleep.
But then yesterday she went to sleep right away, and took an hour and 50 min nap. She is all over the place.
