@Adira: That is awesome!! I am amazed how you stuck with it. No way could I have done that much pumping.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I swear, a good portion of it was sheer stubbornness!! And the other portion was that I enjoyed the breaks during the day!! But I'm excited to be almost done!!!!

@dojo: Is it L's birthday already??????? Happy birthday to him!!!!!

@Adira: It's amazing how long you've stuck with that pump session! Yay for pump weaning! I am down to two feedings a day and not gonna lie, I feel like I have so much time back and it feels gooood!
@Smurfette: Thank you!!

@Mrs. High Heels: I've been too scared to stop! I'm afraid if I stopped any of my after-feeding pump sessions, I'll just dry up!!!! I guess we'll find out soon!!!

Oh! I forgot an update! I think Xander's been saying "uh oh" to things! Yesterday, he threw his bottle on the floor and then said "Uh oh" (although the "oh" part sounds closer to the "uh" part, but I definitely think that's what he was trying to say)! And then he did it a bunch more!

@Adira: Pump weaning will be awesome! Saying uh oh is so cute.
Looks like the 10:30 wake up is not gone. Last night he went at it for 2 hours. He is just so persistent. At least DH is home today and got up with him so I could sleep in a bit. I'm hoping when we go to the ped in a week she will have some ideas of what to do since everything we try seems to not work.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: 2 hours!!!!! OMG!!!! Gahhhh - your baby needs to learn that sleep is good for him and that he'll be so much happier once he has it in long stretches! I really hope your pediatrician has some advice (or he just miraculously starts sleeping better before that)!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I agree. His longest stretch lately is 4 hours. And he doesn't sleep too much in the day, his two naps combined are just over 2 hours usually. I'm hoping he'll just magically learn. He did have a very short period of time were he slept 9-10 hours, nursed and then slept a couple more, so he can do it.
I must stop etsy shopping. I keep buying things for Isaac! I bought him a birthday shirt, a growth chart and labels for daycare this week.

@ALV91711: Ooooh! I want a growth chart! Which one did you get??
And I really hope it gets better for you soon, especially with you returning to work (you're returning to work soon, right??). You all need your sleep!

@Smurfette: @Mrs. High Heels: @Adira: Thanks! We had a nice day off with him
We had Liam's 12 month appt yesterday and got his stats:
Length: 28.5 inches
Weight: 20 lbs
Head: 18.7 inches
He had to get shots and a finger prick which did not turn out well (and now we have to go back to a blood draw next week since his doctor didn't believe that the super low results on the hemoglobin test were accurate.
Other than his appointment we went out for a fun breakfast (he ate a lot!). We were originally going to try and do something fun the rest of the day but we decided to work on getting things ready for his party instead so we went to Costco, did some decorating at home, and got Chinese takeout for dinner. I can't believe he's already one! The year has flown by!
Also I quit pumping and it is amazing!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@dojo: Wow! Great stats!!! I'm so curious to find out how much Xander weighs - I doubt it'll be 20 lbs. Bummer about the blood test and having to go back though. Sounds like you guys had a really fun day together!!! Yay!!! He's our first "toddler" of the group!!

@ALV91711: I am so sorry! Have you tried just plain old CIO? Not checks nothing? that has to be so tough.
That reminds me I need to ask my Dad where our growth cart is. He said he would make me one. He is really good with wood working.
@Adira: so cute!! R now thinks it is fun to walk/crawl away from me when I tell her to come here or we go in her room and she knows it is bedtime.
@dojo: Those are great stats! Glad that y'all have had a great day. I am sorry about the blood results. What does that mean?

@ALV91711: I've been looking for a growth chart on Etsy! There are sooo many to choose from.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Smurfette: we have a wooden growth chart! that's awesome he is good at woodworking, it comes in handy for so many things! maybe he should sell growth charts bc the wooden ones aren't cheap.
@ALV91711: we have these name stickers - we really like them. http://www.namebubbles.com/Default.aspx
@dojo: oh i hope everything comes out ok with the blood results! what did the doctor say was concerning?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: I have already ordered a table and chairs for Christmas and an art easel for her 2nd bday! We keep him busy.

@Adira: This is the growth chart. Yes, I return to work on March 18th. I noticed today a tooth coming in and tonight in 2.5 hours he has woken up three times, although he has fallen right back asleep after I turned his music back on but still.
@dojo: Good stats! Sounds like a fun birthday. I hope his birthday party is lots of fun!
@Smurfette: I really like the wooden ruler growth charts but I don't know anyone close by to do one for us. That is so awesome that you have your dad to make all sorts of cool things for R.
@Mrs. High Heels: I can't wait to have labels, I'm sure a lot of our tupperware is going to end up with Isaac's name on it!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@ALV91711: Damn teeth!!!!! Hopefully that's what is causing him to wake up and once they come through, he'll sleep longer for you! And cute growth chart!
@Mrs. High Heels: It's 11:25 p.m. here and I'm worried I'm going to forgot tomorrow since it's the weekend and I'm not on HB that much when I'm at home, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your little man!!!!!
@Mrs. High Heels: @dojo: Have fun at your parties this weekend!!!! We want to see pics when all is said and done!!!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: I hope that teething is the root of the problem, but this is only tooth 6 that he is working on, so there are so many more to come!
He is doing such a sad, sleepy cry. Just go to sleep, mama wants to go to sleep.

@ALV91711: i hope he went to sleep shortly after you wrote that

@dojo: @Mrs. High Heels: HAPPY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS to our 2 little guys! Can't believe we have 1 year olds in our group now!!!
As for growth charts, I found this white & grey one on sale at PBK a few weeks ago! It matches our house decor perfectly, so I put it up already in our family room to mark on her birthday!
My BFF made her own stained wooden one, that looks like this. She said it wasn't difficult, just time-consuming with marking each line.

@ALV91711: how was the rest of the night? We can't feel anything but R keeps cries out in her sleep. I have the stomach bug DH had last week, so between her and me, I got no sleep. DH got up with her, who has decided 5 is a great to wake up for the day again:( so much for date night tonight. I am still laying in bed, this sucks.
@shopaholic: my Dad is making one like the last one you showed.

@Mrs. High Heels: Happy Birthday to your sweet boy!! Hope that your party is great today!
@dojo: Have a fun party today!!
@Mrs. High Heels: He didn't go back to sleep until 10:30 and woke up every two hours all night long. Honestly he slept better when he was a newborn.
@shopaholic: I love the ruler growth charts, the are my fave.
@Smurfette: I hope that you feel better quickly, being sick is no fun at all. 5 is an early start to the day. At least Isaac didn't wake up for the day until almost 6:30.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@shopaholic: not belated for my guy yet! his actual bday is today!! the growth chart we have is almost identical to the 2nd picture you posted, but we don't have it personalized! i like the colored ones you posted too!
@ALV91711: thank you!
@Smurfette: aww feel better - stomach bugs suck. maybe you'll feel better by tonight so that you can still have a date night!
@ALV91711: oh poor mama! it's rough when they revert back to waking up every 2 hours... i hope his sleep improves again soon!

We finally had bath success tonight!! I took it slow - had him play in the bathroom while I was filling up the infant tub in the big tub. Then I got him naked and just held him. I started off sitting in a chair next to the tub, then moved so I was sitting with him on the edge of the tub. Then I sat in the tub and he found one of his bath toys, so then I moved him into the infant tub and he was totally fine. Just started splashing water and having fun!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yay!! R seriously loves bath time. We say R you want to take a bath and she walks over to the bathroom. She stands there banging on the tub till we get her stripped down and in the tub. She loves to play with the water when filling up the tub.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Adira: yay!! Go Xander!
@Smurfette: did your stomach bug give you some relief today?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh! You fill up the tub while she's in it? We haven't tried that. Although we're still using the infant tub - is she just in the big tub? And Xander definitely loved bath time today!!! He kept slapping the water and splashing it and laughing! It was such a relief to see after the past two weeks of hysterics!
pomelo / 5621 posts
@Adira: That is awesome that he like his bath! I hope it continues. We still bathe Isaac in the sink.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: I felt better but not enough to go out. I was asleep at 930! And just now waking up.
@Adira: Yep! Once I get the water to the right temp we throw her in there. We have been using the tub for months now, maybe October/November. She loves the more room to splash!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: How fun! I wonder if we should just get rid of the infant tub and have him in the big tub... that's awesome how much she likes getting in there while you're filling it up though!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Adira: we've been using the regular tub since J was 10 months too... as soon as he was sitting up strongly on his own. for us, it just makes more sense to bathe both my kids together - they have so much fun! i only fill up the bath to waist level.
@Smurfette: at least you got your rest! hope you get in a raincheck date night soon! i don't know how you solo parent 4x a week! DH owes you a momcation
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Adira: oh no!! feel better you and smurfette must be more than online bff's!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: sorry!! DH just started coming down with it!
@Mrs. High Heels: LOL!
