@Beebug: I think a boy bump goes straight out, and a girl bump is more teardrop shaped -- I totally see it in the comparison with your DD pics. Plus, the farting lol.

@whodat: Interesting! Everything thought DDs bump was a boy bump even after I would tell them it's a girl, they were wrong

@Beebug: Yay for being officially out!
@skipra: So jealous of your real kicks!
I'm still not sure if I'm actually feeling the babies. I probably am but every time I feel something I convince myself it's just my stomach rumbling. I can't wait to feel real, impossible to deny kicks!
Yesterday afternoon I had a bit of a scare. I started to get terrible pain/pressure in my lower back and really low down in my groin. My whole belly felt tight, like I couldn't stand up all the way straight. I've had strict instructions from my perinatologist to drink 128 oz (a whole gallon!) of water a day and yesterday I had a bunch of meetings so I only did about a 1/4 of that. So when I got home I laid down and drank as much water as I could handle until the pain started to go away. My husband was totally freaked out but I knew it was probably just dehydration. I am doing better about drinking water today, but I am still sore all over my lower half. Ugh. I have another appointment on Friday though where they'll measure my cervix (shortening cervix is a big concern with twins) so I'll get to double check that everything is ok then.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@twodoghouse: Eeep about your scare, your body really needs that water apparently (that is so much!!). Drinking the water isn't a problem if I keep it infront of me, it's having to go pee so much that drives me nuts!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Beebug: Fun to compare pics!! I feel the same way about water though. Drinking it isn't hard for me but if I drink more than usual I have to pee like, literally every 20 minutes. I am convinced I have a tiny bladder. (Although I was happy to have this confirmed at my ultrasound! I only drank 12 oz of water 45 min before it before they told me I actually didn't have to drink water… then they had me empty my bladder right before we started. Then within 30 min my bladder was all the way full and they made me empty it again bc it was in the way. My husband was like… how? I'm like.. SCIENTIFIC PROOF lol)
@twodoghouse: Ugh that sucks! I'd have such a hard time doing a gallon/day! I hope your body has gotten somewhat used to it. And that you're feeling better now!
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Mae: @Beebug: I thought it'd be crazy to do a gallon/day but it's really easy when I'm at work because my dr gave me this 32 oz jug and we have a nice water machine. I do have to run to the bathrooms a million times a day though. Maybe I can count that as exercise?

@twodoghouse: That sounds awful!!! glad you are feeling a bit better. I'm TERRIBLE at drinking enough water. In the first trimester, drinking anything made me feel so sick. And now I'm feeling better, but I still don't drink that much because I seriously have to pee 10 times for every bottle of water I drink. I know that I need to up my intake.

I think I am officially sick again
Completely congested (both sides!!) and headache and ear ache on the right side.
Arghhhh. So long as it's gone by the time we fly (22nd!) I don't care. Nothing worse then having to fly when pain in head is already awful. I don't land well, so I near die as-is!!

Had an OB check up yesterday..everything looked good :).
I'm generally feeling really good, except sometimes at night my bump seems to have really grown throughout out the day and it ends up pushing up under my boobs and I get seriously out of breath. So annoying!

I am feeling real kicks now!! last night I felt one with my hand and it was so awesome. it made the baby seem so real!
@Beebug: sorry your sick this is not a good time of year for it with the busy holidays! hope you feel better before your trip!

@Smar11: glad you had a good appointment!! I always feel so much bigger at night than in the morning. maybe its from eating thoughout the day?

@Beebug: Aw, sorry you're sick again. Hope you're feeling well enough to fly on the 22nd!
@Smar11: Glad your OB appointment went well!

@Beebug: i hope that you have a speedy recovery and are feeling better in time for your flight!
@mrsog: yay for kicks
@Smar11: glad you had a good appointment! I seem to get out of breath a lot recently (although I feel pretty out of shape so that could be why hahaha)

@Beebug: ugh, winter illnesses are so lame.
@Smar11: yay for a good appt!
@mrsog: Gah so cool! I felt something last night that I'm wondering if it was kicks? But prob not. Usually when I feel movement it is more of a roll-y feeling. Last night I got the pop-pop-pop feeling people have described. I was wondering if she was doing a little cha-cha in there haha. But I think when its a real legit kick I'll probably feel it and know for sure… still waiting!
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Mae: Ohhh, I hope you're starting to feel kicks! I think last night I felt movement for the first time! It was sort of between flutters and a popcorn popping sensation. I felt it in two spots so I think they must have both been moving. I can't wait until they are real kicks and my husband can feel them! He told me last night that he's a little jealous that I get to feel them and he doesn't yet, so I know he is anxious too.
apricot / 388 posts
@Mae: I felt some of those "maybe" feelings for a little while but the kick was undeniable. You will know!
papaya / 10343 posts
@twodoghouse: I think my husband is slightly freaked out by the idea honestly! I keep saying I can't wait until he can feel it too and he's like… that's going to be…… weird. haha. But I it. It makes me feel like she's more of a real person, actually hanging out in there. I even started referring to myself as "we" this week, just to my husband, which is sort of lame but fun. (I.e. "We went to yoga tonight. Baby girl had fun and wanted to keep the party going during shavasana!")
@mrsog: soooo impatient.

I'm with @Beebug: TGIF!! I am feeling good today and excited because Monday is my anatomy scan and I'm taking the whole day off work to do xmas shopping after!!
anyone have good plans for the weekend?

So excited because I've been feeling the baby - at least I'm pretty sure it's the baby! And my anatomy scan has been scheduled for January 8. I can't wait to find out if I'm having a girl or another little boy.

@mrsog: that sounds like a great Monday!!
No exciting plans here for the weekend. Actually sort of dreading it My FIL's family does this big weekend long Christmas thing with the whole fam every year at this lodge up in the middle of nowhere Michigan (and when I say lodge, I mean a concrete building with 10 bed/bath but no real beds, a big central gathering room, and a kitchen. Not like, nice cozy wood cabin). It's this weekend.
I'm dreading packing for it because it takes forever (we have to take all the normal stuff + air mattress, sheets, blankets, pillows, food, water, towels, basically EVERY thing needed for the weekend) + its a long drive (4 hrs, bahhh) + I have to sleep on an air mattress while 20 weeks pregnant (sob) + they are supposed to get 8 inches of snow overnight/tomorrow and I'm terrified of getting snowed in and not being able to escape sunday am as planned. Save me.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@mrsog: We are going to a Christmas party Saturday night! Going early though (like 5pm!) so we can take LO. See how long she lasts and then head home! DH and I don't drink (well, DH doesn't at all, me just right now, lol) and that party will get pretty messy so DD will be a nice excuse to go home, ha!! Sunday I have an agility class with my dog! I am telling all my agility friends that day, and hopefully my trainer will offer to run my dog for me for next season, we were going to make a bid to qualify for National's next year.....qualifying is the first weekend in June.....haha....I won't exactly be ready! Nationals are in August, so I will be back in action by then!! I also realllllly need to get on some Christmas shopping!!!

@mrsog: So excited for your anatomy scan coming up!
@Mamasig: Yay for feeling movement!
@Mae: Oh no, that sounds really...rustic. I hope you don't get snowed in!
@Beebug: That's so cool that you do agility with your dog! I always thought our dog that passed away last year (a border collie) would have loved to do that, but she was so anxious around other dogs and crowds that we were too afraid to try.
In half an hour I have another doctor's appointment. I generally have appointments every 2 weeks and get to see them on US every time, but I still get SO nervous that something will be wrong each time. I'll feel better once the appt is over. Then I have my work holiday potluck at lunch and then hopefully the afternoon will fly by. I'm super excited about the weekend! My best friend is coming home from Belgium tomorrow and we're doing friends Christmas on Sunday!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@twodoghouse: Border Collie's are the most common breed at trials BY FAR! Sorry to hear about your dog Our dog is my first agility dog, he's turned out to be rather good at it, I used to jump horses, so it's all come pretty easy to me too (I find dogs harder than horses though, oddly enough, lol). I have a pretty fast Golden in the agility world, but still all the Golden people that have Border's keep joking with me I will end up with one eventually too! I don't think we will every own anything but a Golden, but I would loveeee to run a Border for someone else someday maybe!

@mrsog: yay for anatomy scan! I'm also taking the whole day off on Monday for christmas shopping!!! I'm really excited to have a day to myself.
@twodoghouse: good luck today!
DH just left this morning to visit his grampa (who is very sick) up North (farrrr North...it's -42 degrees there right now) So it's just me and DD all alone of the next 5 days. I'm going to be exhausted by the end of it! I'm excited for DH to get home, although I'm glad he can take the time to visit his grampa. This weekend will involve a lot of entertaining a toddler!

@twodoghouse: I am an over sharer!
Here are some vid's of us in action!!
He is a chronic bar knocker, the first video when we knocked the bar we were technically "done"/out. The 2nd vid I didn't communicate to him and at the end he took the frame and not the tunnel and that axed us! Lots of rookie mistakes!!

Oh....I didn't think it would open a video box, argh....just meant to have the links there!

@Mae: Thanks!! He is too cute for his own good, haha! He is a good boy so doesn't need to use the awesome puppy dog eyes he has too often, haha!

@Beebug: Oh my gosh, I love the videos! Your dog is beautiful and he looks like he's having so much fun!
Appointment is done (fast one this time!) and everything looked good. Still one girl and one boy. Little girl is still bouncing her head up and down on my cervix, which the doctor thinks is causing all the pain/pressure that I've had this week. Such a trouble maker already!

Hi friends! Our internet was down for 5 days this week so I'm just catching up on all of your posts. So excited for everyone's gender updates and name brainstorming!
Not too much new on my end... but looking forward to being back online!

@beebug- awwww.... your puppy CUTENESS!!!
I have been MIA ladies. Actually on vacay with my DH. We started out in Colombia and were there less than 24 hours. Nightmare in Bogota with the immigration department who kept us in 'questioning' for several hours with no food, and I literally had to beg for a bathroom break. It did not help that we did not speak spanish, and there may have been a language breakdown. I am not one to shy away from adventure, and have never been a 'silly traveller' but needless to say we were happy to be back Stateside. We switched our vacation plan and are now in the Bahamas.
La Princessa in doing good. She decided she does not like anything meaty or greasy. Who would have thunk I would prefer a salad to fries- but veggies are the only things keeping me sane from the acid reflux. I miss eating like a normal person.
So excited to see all the new reveals, and I love the name choices!
DH and I cannot decide on a name. We have a few 'silly names' we call her right now, but there is nothing out there that is sticking. I love the name Eleanor (and planned on calling her Nori for short)- but I found out yesterday that Kim and Kanye stole my name- baby North West is called Nori - LOL Also- turns out my husband is ambivalent about the name, so I guess it is a no-go!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Coopersmama: wow that sounds scary!! So glad you're somewhere safe now. I'm a bit of a wuss travel wise, not so much in that I have to know the language but I am not cool going anywhere that isn't super safe. Like… Mexico yes (resort-y areas). Columbia not so much! haha
Stupid Kim and Kanye stealing your name! We finally had the name talk this weekend. We had to go up north for my FIL's family Christmas, which meant 8 hrs in the car and lots of time to chat! I gave my husband a list of 25 names I liked, and he only knocked 5 off the list (4 for association issues, 1 for being "weird" lol). So then he decided the best way to proceed was for us each to independently rank the remaining names into 3 tiers according to most or least favorite. Then we'll see how many (if any) we have overlapping in tier 1. I'm having such a hard time ranking them though!! (And yes I realize we may be a bit crazy with such a specific method but this is who we are haha).
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@Mae: DH and I did the ranking thing when choosing DS's name! I had a bad association with his name so I don't even think it was on the list. The #1 choice became our backup. @Coopersmama: Wow that is a terrible experience. I'm so glad you're safe. What about Nora instead of Nori? That was a top girl's name for us
@twodoghouse: at least she's still small. Hopefully she'll stop before she gets bigger and stronger.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@skipra: I just saw your other post about gender, are you going to (able to?) do another scan to try for confirmation one way or the other?!
@Mae: I am so with you on the travel stuff!
@Coopersmama: everything you typed sounds so scary. Goodness I hope you stay safe and are okay!!! Thinking about you!!
@tarabonno: Hiiii!!! Yay for internet again!
@Mae: I saw your name thing and laughed. DH and I went from three pages of names to two tiers of 5 names each AFTER C was born trying to get one chosen! She was a few hours old and here we are using the hospital table with these pages of names (we'd written over months of name ideas, lol) The only two that made it in our top 5 of Tier 1 were her name, Chelsea and Danielle! We still like Danielle! I can't even remember what my other three top tier names were, basically our top 10 was identical, but those 2 both made our top 5's!
Happy Monday! I have a crazy week ahead of the holidays here, plus anatomy scan Thursday!!!!
Who goes today!?! I have an awful memory, but know one of us goes!!

@Beebug: I have my anatomy scan today! I think someone else does too!
Happy Monday everyone:)

Looks like we have 3 with anatomy scans today! Caity713, MrsOG, and Smar11!
@Beebug: Omg so crazy to still have so many names that far along! I think I'm anxious to settle on a name and decide so I can start calling her something. It's starting to annoy me to just call her "baby" as I've been doing. After we did our tiers last night we did a points system (tier 1 = 1 pt, tier 2 = 2, tier 3 = 3) and did the combined points for each name and knocked off every name that had a point of 4 or more (at least as a 1st name choice, we may come back to some of those for a middle name). So now we are down to 8 names: Ava, Clara, Eva, Fiona, June, Olivia/Olive, Penelope, and Stella. We're going to let those sit in our minds for a couple days at least before we try to narrow down more. Front runners currently appear to be Ava, Olivia/Olive, and Fiona though, as those were the only 3 names we both ranked in the top tier. Knowing us, I bet we have a name picked by Christmas
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mae: too funny! I so don't feel any pressure to settle on a name, I just think about over last pregnancy how much our ideas and front runners changed, and then seeing her, and making sure she "fit" the name. We took a day to name our dog after having gone down to two names and him not fitting either when we went to get him. Makes me laugh as the names are nothing extraordinary or that special, but we just take forever to commit!!
@Smar11: Hope today goes great for you, look forward to hearing all about it!!
