@Mae: bottle because no wiping because it is too tender down there, plus no tp bits to get in there! Leaking in the shower, boobs! I thought about it though and it was probably because I could hear DD crying in my head, and whenever she cried my milk leaked, lol.....who knew!!!
@Mamasig: I have to clench when I sneeze too, and definitely no sneezing and walking at the same time! Sooo annoying!
Post-partum pee leaks have been shit awful, then once preggo again? Even worse, post-partum running was awful, ugh....i probably am going to see if I am a good candidate for the surgery down there once done babies to tighten things up!
@mrsog: LOL on your DHs answer, I definitely peed myself in December when puking before our flight, I didn't tell DH, lol.
My back right now is sooooo sore, I don't even know what to do to get comfortable at this point, gah.

I actually peed when I sneezed last night. Never happened during first pregnancy either. Yuck!
As for the squirt bottle I loved it because it definitely made things feel better. I actually got excited that I saved mine so now I will have one for upstairs and downstairs bath. I'm such a dork!

@sungirl: That was super annoying with #1, always having to track what bathroom it was in, lol! We have moved to a bungalow since and it will be nice this time to have one spot set up with post-partum bathroom fun, lol
So I just had a nice surprise here at work! I order a lot of promo material for my employer, and the guy that wins most of our bids/quotes was just here showing us samples for an upcoming order and gave my boss and I coats as a gift! They are Roots coats (my fave brand in the whole wide world, LOL) cover below my butt, hood, awesome material, super warm.....and currently fits over the belly, ha!! Kind of a wicked surprise, and it sounds foolish, but reallllly appreciate it because it's not like I am buying clothes for post-preg me and this is nice to get something new without having to spend!

@Mae: Yah! Really nice treat! My day started off kinda crap, so this was/is a nice pick me up!
I whined on here yesterday about my back, and so was sort of dreading today at my desk, sore back again.....well I sat down this morning and my chair had been lowered overnight, you know when you're not expecting to "fall" that much more? Ugh, yah....not a good start for the back, so this was a great distraction!

I just spent time catching up with you ladies. I have totally been MIA.
@beebug- sorry to hear about the family drama. We had that happen with my uncle. Turns out not only did he have an affair, but he had a whole different family with three kids. Him and first wife worked it out though after a thirty five year marriage, but it was really difficult for everyone else- kids and extended family, and made for very strange family events. I am sure your DH is even more shaken (sometimes more than your MIL would be).
All your nurseries are so darn cute. We are still working on ours. I was waiting for the Pantone color of the year to get announced. Lol! Of course 2014s color is the color of puke! We painted, got a crib, got a rug, and a new light fixture. Waiting on curtains. DH is building a closet since there in none in the room. Will take a pic of the work in progress soon.
All of you are so young. I will be turning 35 on the 16th of this month. That is why the birthing center I first called told me I was not a candidate. The woman on the phone called it a geriatric pregnancy.
now I can laugh about it. Back then I was pissed. Yay for all the feb mamas having May babies. I will be officially third trimester on my birthday.
I feel mostly good. I have the flu and fever last two weeks for 10 days. It was awful. I was vacillating between cold spells and hot flashes. It was awful at night especially. Could not take much. Called my GP who said to take a Tylenol every 4-6 hours. I found out at the tail end that I could have robittusin. Was so mad that my GP did not tell me that!
Baby is kicking lots. My husband says the baby is twerking!
cherry / 129 posts
@mrsog, @mamasig, @sungirl- the worst thing about my coughing, sneezing with the flu was that I kept peeing on myself. I wanted to cry. My DH asked me if he should go buy me some depends. I had to use a panty liner.

@Coopersmama: 16th for you, 20th for @mrsog: , and 21st for me! That is kinda cool
Wow about your uncle though, kids and whole different family is seriously crazy. In FILs case she was also hiding it from her family, her DH lives away/works oil rigs, but she has young kids and is younger period (I think 15-20 years younger than FIL) so that bit is a little weird too. Of course it was the closest family friends (her parents, her two brothers and their fams were at our wedding close) and it's just so not cool.

@Coopersmama: I'm "old" too. I'll be 35 when the baby is born and turn 36 in October. And we want to have one more - I'll be ancient when that baby is born!
I feel ya with the flu. I felt the same. Did you get tamiflu? It did help shorten the flu. When I went to urgent care, they told me no robitussin but it was on my approved med list from my ob. Who knows?!

Baby boy officially has a birthday! I just had a check up, and we decided to schedule a c-section for 40 weeks + 3 days. So he will be here on May 21st. I was still pretty torn between c-section and vbac...so this is kind of happy medium. There is still some time where i COULD go into labour earlier and try for a vbac, but have a c-section scheduled before he starts getting TOO overdue! I guess his birthday could still be earlier...so I guess I should call it his eviction date instead
apricot / 309 posts
@cookie_dough: yay! Sounds like a good plan. That is my due date so maybe our boys will share birthdays
papaya / 10343 posts
@Coopersmama: sorry you are sick I got a bad cold at the start of the 2nd trimester and I was allowed to take Robitussen
@cookie_dough: yay for eviction date!!
I am failing at life today. I feel fine just lazy and craving-y. I had potato chips and dip for lunch. Then I felt guilty and ate a bunch of raw snow peas. And now I want a peanut butter square. BAH. lol
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@cookie_dough: Yay eviction date! That is so exciting!! Nice to have the option to try for vbac, but worst case the 21st is a good day for a birthday, too!
@Mae: I ate leftover chicken bites from superbowl for my lunch. Ask me how productive I'm going to be this afternoon!!
I am in a training session for our computer system, blech!!
Tired and not focused!

Hello ladies. Trying to catch up on the last few pages. Totally with the second time moms with the pee leaks. Worst was when I was throwing up non-stop with the stomach bug. I think I went through every pair of underwear I owned that night. Never happened first time around. Also first time I was not naked during labor. They even let me keep my own clothes on too. I did get in the tub at one point and then got the epidural right after so I was a lot less dressed at that point but certainly not naked and I never even wore a hospital gown.
Happy birthday to all the February mama's! No big bday milestone this pregnancy but I turned 31 on the day DS turned. 31 weeks old last year!

Soooo... I'm pretty sure I'm not peeing because it doesn't smell/feel like urine, but this morning my insanely overachieving vaginal discharge definitely visibly soaked through the crotch of my pants on my way to work. Felt very professional trying to sop it up frantically in the bathroom and thereafter pull my shirt down over it till it dried out. Might be time to start using pantiliners. Anybody else experiencing this peachy symptom?
And @Beebug: I have a history of IT band issues, too! Surprisingly, hasn't been bothering me much in pregnancy (probably because I haven't really been running - and plenty of other bizarre aches have stepped up instead), but that stretch looks like heaven
papaya / 10343 posts
@anandam: oh man, pregnancy is the enemy of dignity. I've not experienced that to that extent. I did have some watery discharge on and off that I asked my doc about (really only because my pregnancy app had an article about telling your doc about watery discharge in case it was amniotic fluid). My doc said that discharge is normal, but she did say that if I was soaking through my underwear to let her know bc she may want to check my out just to make sure it was really discharge. So I'd maybe mention it to your doc at your next appt just to make sure? I'm sure its fine but better to check and whatnot.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@anandam: lol the stretch IS heaven. I seriously love it, and the value in it is so huge!
There are definitely days pantiliners would be a good idea, but I haven't gotten on using them yet.
Switching subjects, lol.....i am rocking some solid nursery inspiration tonight and SO pumped to put some ideas in action!

@anandam: Ugh this is me too. I wear panty liners everyday. So obnoxious!
@cookie_dough: Yay for eviction day! How exciting. My nephew has that birthday so I think it is a good day to be born.
@Beebug: Love nurseries. This baby will be moving into R's current so I am more into planning her big girl room. I do want to make a new mobile for this little one though.
I didn't wear my own clothes while in the hospital last time but I was concerned with having the girls out so I wore the belly band over my chest. My bottom half was all out though. Apparently my modesty only extended towards the part I didn't deem necessary to delivery? Thankfully I didn't have continual monitoring or I would've been rocking the double belly bands. After delivery I wore a gown for fear of ruining my own clothes.

@anandam: I had this last pregnancy and it just got worse as the pregnancy went on. Doc told me to worry if it was enough to soak through a pad not just a pantiliner.

Oh noo... all these pee and bottle stories do not sound like fun! Thankfully I haven't had any mishaps as yet. Just some crazy back pain that feels like my back will somehow split in two down the bottom. Has anyone had a pregnancy massage? SIL gave me a voucher and I'm thinking of using it soon but I just can't imagine how I will lie down and be comfortable enough for anyone to rub me all over. Massage on my left or right side? That does not sound comfy.
kiwi / 619 posts
@Glitter: I get prenatal massages about once a month!!! Luckily they are covered by insurance for me. I LOVE them. They have you lie on these cushion-type things that have a space for your belly to kind of hang out. They make sure that your belly is very well supported (at least if it's a good place, they should!) And then at one point she has me turn onto my back and she wedges something under one side to make sure I'm not lying completely flat on my back.
persimmon / 1281 posts
@cookie_dough: mmmm sounds good! This is my first day back at work. Had a two week break to write my final actuarial exam, so I'm gonna give it a few weeks for the back pain from sitting at a desk for 9 hours and driving 3 hours a day to resurface. That's something nice to look forward to
papaya / 10343 posts
@Glitter: I had one prenatal massage at 13 weeks, although it was a birthday gift just bc I like massages and not for a specific problem. Even though I wasn't showing yet they did the normal prenatal thing, as per their rules. They just laid me on one side with lots of pillows propping me up (it was very supported/comfy) and rubbed one side then had me roll to the other side and get all propped up again and did the same. I loved it! I hope to get at least one more before I'm done
Also I've found when I've had back pain just stretching it out helped so much. I don't know if you've ever done yoga but doing some rounds of cat/cow and sun salutations I felt like really helped when I had a hitch in my back (if you google I'm sure there are videos!)
honeydew / 7230 posts
@anandam: I have this problem all the time. Pregnancy is so glamorous.
@Glitter: @cookie_dough: @Mae: You're all convincing me to look into getting a prenatal massage. I think there is a place in town with the belly hole thing, haha. I just wake up so stiff and uncomfortable these days that I feel like my whole body must be full of knots. My husband rubs my feets and neck and back every night, but it's not quite the same.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@Glitter: I just got one about a week ago. The place I went to had these air filled cushion things you laid on during the massage that were oiled. You never had to turn over. He just stuck his hand underneath your back and massaged that way. I'm not sure if it was the most effective but it was nice not to have to roll over or to the side.

Hey guys. Just poking my head in to ask--Am I the only one who is asked DAILY (by strangers) when I'm due? It is getting old fast. No, I'm not "ready to pop." I have 3.5 months to go. I'm still in my second trimester. Everybody just shut it!
persimmon / 1281 posts
For those of you who got relief from the massages did it last? And for how long?
I've never tried yoga but I have done a few stretches I found that help a lot but for so little time. Ill youtube some more stretches tonight.
persimmon / 1281 posts
@whodat: lol! Only a few ppl have asked, and nicely and not total strangers. Perhaps I don't have an approachable face. Nobody has mentioned popping to me either - could be the unapproachable face again
kiwi / 619 posts
whodat: YES!! I get asked pretty much on a daily basis, mostly by co-workers! They keep assuming I only have a few weeks left to go. When I tell them I'm here till May, I get the "woah, it's going to be a big baby". I do remember getting those comments last time too, that my baby was going to be huge...but not this early on!!! I got weighed and measured yesterday at the doctor's office and he said "perfect"...so I'm trying not to worry. I mean, I know it's not going to be a small baby...DH was 10 pounds when he was born! DD was 7.15 lbs, but I figure since this one is a boy, he will likely be a bit bigger. Plus I have been pigging out WAY more this pregnancy. I'm not sure if that affects baby size, or just my size...but either way, I haven't been holding back at all. so bad. Every day I tell myself that I'm not going to eat those extra snacks (and by snacks i mean cookies, brownies, anything sweet I can get my hands on).
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@whodat: My mom told me I was as big as when I had DS when I was like 18 weeks or something ridiculous. Totally not even close to true! She always comments on how big I am and it's so annoying. Also I was at my dad's house when the maid was there and she made a face when I told her I had 3 months left. Yes, I am huge...it happens! Most strangers don't say anything though or even ask when I'm due. Mostly I just get looks or people saying I'm going to have my hands full because they see me with DS and he is tiny and looks even younger than he actually is.
@Glitter: I had a massage a couple days before I was induced with DS and it was heavenly but the effects were not long lasting for me and didn't really do much for my lower back pain and it didn't send me into labor which is what I was hoping for. Mostly I just make DH rub my back and that's free I did a lot of yoga last time and need to start it up again. The squats and cat/cow really made a big difference for me, when done regularly. Also sitting on a ball and kind of rotating around can help too. And most important is getting your partner to learn how to squeeze your hips. It relieves like all the pressure and feels soooo good and definitely helps during labor too.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@whodat: I haven't been asked yet, but I'm just waiting. I got that asked ALL the time last pregnancy. People also asked me if it was twins. When I said no, I just got pity looks.
papaya / 10343 posts
@whodat: I still haven't had anyone I don't know ask about my pregnancy! With it being cold when I'm out in public I'm mostly in my coat and I don't think it is super obvious that I am pregnant in that. I did have the dental hygienist hint at it when I went in last week she was like soooooooo whats newwww??? looking at my stomach but I think she didn't want to ask lol.
@Mamasig: You have the most perfect bump!
I don't feel like I look as clearly preggo as some of the ladies on here because the bottom of my bump is more sloped than super curved… if that makes sense. I mean I think to anyone who knows me or most people I'm pretty obviously pregnant. But its not like 100% absolutely no doubt that I'm not just really chunky hehe This is 26 weeks. Haven't taken my 27 week shot yet.
kiwi / 619 posts
@Mamasig: @Mae: Your bumps are sooo cute! I have to remember to take one tonight.
kiwi / 687 posts
@whodat: @cookie_dough: @skipra: I'm having this happen lots, too, and also tiring of it. Yes, I'm measuring a little big, but not three months ahead. No, it's not twins. No, I don't know if your personal theory on the shape of my belly means you have correctly diagnosed my child's sex. No, I don't know why your cousin is due next month and looks smaller than me. That's nice that your wife was "the same way" and had Dunkin Donuts everyday, but no, I haven't been doing that.
And so on.
It's like, have you people never seen a pregnant woman at term?
kiwi / 687 posts
@Mae: I think you 100% look pregnant and not "chunky"!!! Maybe people in Ohio (right?) just have better manners.
papaya / 10343 posts
@anandam: omg way too many comments lol. Maybe part of it too is that I just don't see strangers a lot. Like I've said, I work at home so I'm just not out and about all that much, and when I am, I'm in a long wool coat.
apricot / 388 posts
Almost daily someone gives me their seat on the bus or subway now. I didn't think I was showing through my winter coat and being all bundled but I guess I am! DH is amazed at how big I am getting and I can't believe I have 3 more months for him to grow - I don't know where he is going to fit! I will try to remember to take a pic tonight. Its been a while since I have!
