    @cookie_dough: I thought of you soon after, well our DDs! So awesome!

    @Glitter: not going to tell DH, no. I mean, unless for some crazy reason it seems necessary!

    @Beebug: congrats! Boys are so much fun!

    @anandam: Yep, it is! I think I was(am?) just nervous about making such a big life change at the same time as the biggest life change.. i.e. baby haha. And it would be a HUGE change because it would be going from working at home and only having my DD in daycare 3 days/week to working full time in an office downtown and doing full time daycare. But I honestly think that long term this job would be so good for me and its worth the initial challenge of making the big change, so long as ya know… they want me. And the compensation is right. hah

    @beebug: congrats on the boy!

    @cheesetomywhine: I am also TG and LOVE when other people find out!! One of my BFFs is having a baby and I could not wait for her to find out. So funny.

    @Beebug: are you going to be able to act surprised when he is born? I'm such a bad liar, dh would know right away that I already knew! Are you going to start buying cute boy stuff in secret? were you surprised to find out it was a boy? I know I know i was totally shocked when I found out we were team blue!

  6. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @Beebug: Congrats on your little boy!! Do you think you'll keep it (that you found out ahead of time) a secret forever? I'm just thinking it might make a funny story someday!

    @Mae: You're so brave considering such a big change at the same time as having your LO, but it sounds like it will be a great thing for you! I hope the interview goes well! Are you going to have to go out and get maternity interview attire?? Of course that's what I'm worried about most, haha.

  7. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @twodoghouse: lol I had a suit that was a size too big and it actually still fits just fine.

  8. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @Mae: Nice! That sounds perfect!

  9. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @cookie_dough: I'm banking on being so exhausted from labour that will mask my (lack of) reaction? Or I can play up the "we knew it" to DH as we talk like it is a boy currently anyways!

    @twodoghouse: no idea in how long it'll stay a secret. I suppose I will try, maybe funny someday, but surely it will hardly be a memory once he is actually here? Maybe? Haha I will go with that!

    Because I was thinking it was a boy it really doesn't change nursery plans, but I will definitely be stashing away some boyish early days clothes if the opportunity arises! I have a few Mom friends who have offered boy clothes, so I really don't need to go too crazy.

    @Mrs Hazelnut: Glad I am not the only one No one in real life understands why we don't find out. Ya know, unless it is people from an older generation. They think it is fabulous lol.

    @Beebug: Congrats on your boy! Boys are so much fun! I think that's hilarious that you got an ultrasound out of spite. Maybe your DH wouldn't think so now but definitely in the future it will be a really great story And don't you love those great facial shots? We had so many ultrasounds with DS that we knew he was going to have my nose and a dimple in his chin before he was born.

    nectarine / 2019 posts

    @Beebug: I think it's kinda funny that you found out, regardless of the reason. Congrats and welcome to blue! I would find it hard to pretend I was surprised though when the baby was born.

    @twodoghouse: so glad you passed the 3 hour!

    I am really over winter here! I fell 3 times this week and yesterday had some bleeding that terrified the crap out of me. Luckily that's over though.

  13. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @junebugmama: boo to it still being cold by you!

    We are having a brief warm-up before it starts snowing again tomorrow. It's 53 with blue skies and bright sunshine today! We got out and walked 2 miles around our development with our pup and it felt soooooo fantastic to be outside in the sunshine and moving! I'm going to be so sad when it gets cold again.

    So question for you ladies-- what are you wearing for your showers? I'm torn on buying something new. I feel like I probably should… but I also hate the idea of spending money on a cute dress that I'll wear probably…… JUST for the shower and never again hah. I'm thinking about wearing this dress. It's not a maternity dress but I feel like it sorta works… (excuse the wet hair). Thoughts? You can be honest if you all think I need to suck it up and buy an actual maternity dress. lol

  14. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

    @Mae: I think that dress looks great! The color is really pretty on you. I didn't plan out what I was going to wear for my first shower, just dug this (non-maternity) top out of the back of my closet that morning! I might wear an actual maternity outfit for my next one though because I get bigger and bigger everyday!

  15. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @twodoghouse: thanks! And that's a cute outfit! I'm just not really a clothes person so if I can get away with wearing what I already own, I totally will lol.

    Also, we're watching on demand parks and rec right now and this is the best sentence ever about pregnancy, from Ann:

    "Yay! Let's get some food I'm STARVING. Oh wait no… I have to pee. Actually I think I have to barf. Maybe all three…? Pregnancy is greaaattt…"

  16. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @Mrs Hazelnut: @cheesetomywhine: I get the best of both worlds with this secret keeping, hahaha. Everyone thinks we didn't, buuuuut I know. Such a cheater, lol.

    @skipra: I didn't get to keep any pics, but the facial shots were soooo awesome! Looked very similar to DD, which was really cool, the big cheeks were the best!

    @junebugmama: I don't think I will have to think/worry about pretending, emotions already so high, lots going on. The reaction of having a baby OUT of me at the same time of it's a boy....lol plenty!

    @Mae: cute pic, love the dress! I didn't buy anything new for mine (all after DDs arrival). Two were at home, so I kept it pretty casual, one I got into a nice dress as the newspaper was coming to take a 5 generation family photo for a story in the paper!

    @twodoghouse: cute pic, and love that top too!!

    Bummed the Olympics are done, feel like I won't have anything to watch now, lol. Amazing Race starts tonight though, anyone else watch!?

  17. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @Mae: I'm not having a shower since it's my 2nd but I did buy something new for DS' shower. I just wanted something special and new that I hadn't worn before. But I did pick something that I could then wear to work so I could get more use out of it

    I do like that dress. The color is pretty. When is your shower?

  18. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Beebug: thanks! And 5 generations, so cute! I'm a little sad the olympics are over but also excited that all our other shows will start having new episodes now. Felt like a lot of places took a break during olympics.

    @Mamasig: thanks shower is in 2 weeks. I have another shower in like a month, but that is a friends shower so I'm far less concerned-- may just wear jeans and a top or something. or maybe the same dress since there will be no cross-over. I'm just not a clothes person. I don't do "special clothes" except like…. my wedding dress..? lol. And I work at home so my work clothes are yoga pants And we don't go to church. So I have basically no reason to ever wear a dress.

    @Beebug: That's probably a very good point! LOL

    Today our landlord told us that he is selling the house. We have 90 days to move. Ya know, 7 days after the baby is due

    @junebugmama: Oh no! I'm sorry for that added stress.

    I am finally going to post a photo. 30 weeks! Not the best quality because of lighting Oh and I apologize if it posts huge.

  22. junebugmama

    nectarine / 2019 posts

    @Glitter: Yes. It's been a super stressful day. I have 3 appointments tomorrow and now we are trying to see if we can buy a place quickly, we were planning to do that after the baby

    @cheesetomywhine: thank you! it stinks

  23. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

    @junebugmama: I could imagine! I've moved a total of eight times so I know the stress. I hope your living arrangements get sorted out soon! Are you currently working? Or do you and/or DH have time to shop around?

  24. junebugmama

    nectarine / 2019 posts

    @Glitter: I'm a doula, but I stopped taking on clients for the 3rd trimester. I had a birth in December and was having contractions on and off, scared the pee out of me! So luckily I have some time to hunt around. It's just such a stinky time for us!

  25. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

    @junebugmama: Yeh.. this is not the time you want to add stress to your schedule either way. I'm sorry this has come up now. Hopefully you will find something you love quickly and easily and get settled before baby makes an arrival.

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @cheesetomywhine: aw, awesome bump!!

    @junebugmama: Ugh. Succkkkkss. I hope you figure something out soon! Some good friends of mine closed on a house the day after she gave birth. Talk about stress. Too many life changes at once.

    @Mae: Thanks!

  28. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @junebugmama: Oh jeez about the moving! Will you rent again or buy? On the flip side at least you don't have to worry about the "selling" part depending on what area you live in real estate wise, just taking care of the "other" side, which will definitely be worry enough! Do you think you'll be able to find something somewhat easily, or is inventory crap?

    @cheesetomywhine: Yah 30w, and the bump pic!! Super cute bump!!

    @junebugmama: I see second post now, should have read all the way down, good you may have the option to buy too, but still eep on timing, good luck!!

    29w today over here.

    @Mae: I think that dress is super cute!
    @junebugmama: that sucks! Hope you will be able to find something quickly. Do you have family near by to help with the packing?
    @Beebug: congratulations on the baby boy! Sons are so much fun!

    I passed the 3 hr test!!! Woo hoo!!! By the seat of my pants (almost didn't pass 1hr and 2 hr draws), but I'll take it. They are going to monitor me with finger prick tests and want me to restrict carb intake early in the day, and I am totally okay with that. Any other good Monday news??

  31. sungirl

    @gingerblonde: yay! I'm nervously waiting the results of my 1 hr.

    @gingerblonde: yay congrats!!

    No good monday news from me. I had a bad day at work and am brainstorming ideas on how to pay my mortgage if I pulled a Jennifer Anniston from Office Space………. lol

  33. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    Does my bump look weirdly flat!? Probably the only reason this bump pic is "on time", it looks funny tonight!

  34. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @gingerblonde: wooo on passing 3-hr! Great news, congrats!

    @Mae: I don't know what the Jennifer Anniston reference is, but sorry to hear you had a bad day! I didn't check lottery ticket I bought on Friday yet. I like the potential of being a winner, versus the reality......oh, I can dream! Work would go! I love my job, but I'd definitely let it go!

  35. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

    @Mae: when is that interview? Just might be your solution!

    My good news is that the in laws have offered to gift us with crib, mattress, bedding, stroller and car seat! The hold up is that I just can't decide on the bedding.. Smh. I think I'm just gonna ask DH to select a set because left up to me I'll keep googling and googling... And confusing myself with unnecessary details.

  36. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Beebug: It does look a little flat in the front, but I feel like mine does too sometimes!

    @Glitter: thats awesome about your inlaws!!

    Also you guys are missing out on some classic comedy! Jen Aniston has a really douchy boss and one day he hassles her about the same old thing and she flips him off and quits and walks out. It's amazing lol. NSFW due to language, but if anyone is home this morning, it's worth the 70 seconds

  37. cookie_dough

    @gingerblonde: yay, congrats!!!! So glad you passed the test

    @sungirl: I'm nervously awaiting my results too...I'm assuming that I would know by now if I had failed (I took the test on Thursday), but maybe not.

    @Beebug: Maybe a tiny bit? But nothing really noticeable. Cute bump pic!

    I took a day off yesterday and spent almost the whole day at the mall shopping. I bought wayyyy too many cute baby boy clothes, and a few things for DD as well. She has a new obsession with Mickey Mouse (she calls him ma-mouse) so I bought her a few mickey books and a mickey t-shirt. I couldn't resist! But now my body hates me from being on my feet all day in bad shoes. I'm aching everywhere. It was totally worth it though, it was so nice to have a day off to myself, while DD was at daycare, so I didn't have to be chasing a toddler around while at the mall!

  38. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @cookie_dough: aw sounds like a great day!! i've noticed i'm achey when I'm on my feet too much too. I dug out my crocs to wear whenever I'm going to be on my feet a while.

    @Mae: I'm totally insane, I was looking forward to yesterday for WEEKS. Almost as much as I look forward to Christmas hahaha. I guess that shows how much I needed a day to myself! I had a mini-breakdown on the weekend because I was so exhausted and I realized that I literally never get to leave the house without a toddler in tow, unless it's during naptime/after bedtime. I just feel too guilty taking "me-time" when she's at home and awake. Not that I don't love spending time with her, but I really needed the break!!!

  40. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @cookie_dough: that's not insane, that's self preservation!
