    @gingerblonde: woo hoo! Congrats!

    @Beebug: maybe the baby moved? Mine looks somewhat smaller In the morning.

    Just a vent! So many people have told me how much bigger I look lately. I know it's true so when friends say it I don't mind. But there is one lady in my building who drives me crazy! Any time I see her - bathroom, kitchen, hall, etc - she has to mention either how big I am or how I look so much better this time compared to last time. Gee thanks! I know I looked like crap last time - I felt it every damn day! Yes, this pregnancy is easier so far. I just don't need reminders! And I don't need you to remind me I still have a ways to go!

    @cookie_dough: mom guilt! I feel it too. I rarely get pedicures or haircuts anymore because I don't want to take away from time with DS on the weekends. And when I do, I'm not totally relaxed. I had a mini melt down yesterday. I'm getting more and more tired and DS has not been sleeping well, so I'm exhausted. When I'm tired I don't have a lot of patience and I find myself getting frustrated with DS. I hate it. And then Mondays are just generally harder after being with him all weekend. Being a mom is hard!

    @cookie_dough: DH and DD will be away March Break, selfishly SO looking forward to it. More than just a day so I don't have to squeeze a lot in and over do it, especially after the next two weekends and work events! Glad you had a great day, sorry you're paying for it today.

    Speaking of paying for it, DD is sick today, my first kid sick day off work. My biggest events of my year that I plan are Saturday, and next Wed-Sat, can you say torture? You watch, I will get sick just in time for Saturday. Attached a pic of my view for the day......stranded! I need her to move so I can go get my laptop and work!

    @Mamasig: good call. Maybe? That was last night, I should look again this am. I'm mean, but I'd have something witty to say to that lady who had the big mouth, not awful, but enough to make her zip it, some people are so brutal.

    @Mae: when DD is up, I'm so going to watch that clip! I have forgotten, when is job interview?

    @Beebug: I hate sick babies! DS had his adenoids taken out and tubes put in last week. And then caught a cold afterwards. He barely ate and was just whiny! It's so hard to see them sick. But luckily I didn't catch it.

    @Beebug: awww they're so cute sleeping though

    The job interview is on Thursday. I am super excited, and it makes me happy to feel like I'm making efforts towards making a change. But I'm honestly not expecting this to turn into anything. Even if they do want me, I don't know what the compensation is and it may be less than I'm making now/less than I could accept. And I'm almost certain they do not have paid leave, which I can't afford to give up-- so basically the only way this will work out even IF they want me is if the pay is close to what I'm making now and if they're willing to wait for me until Sept 1. Certainly not impossible, but not terribly probable

    (Sigh @ grown up responsibilities like paying for stuff……..)

    @Beebug: eeeeek, hopefully you won't get sick! But I have to say, that picture is way too cute

    @Mamasig: My big treat to myself is prenatal massages once a month or so, and even that I schedule for nap time, and afterwards I rush home to be back for when she wakes up, so not super relaxing. Hair cuts happen like every six months if i'm lucky? It takes me months of telling myself "i need a hair cut" to finally take the plunge and make an appointment hahaha. And now she seems to be cutting out her nap on the weekends altogether, which makes it even more tough to schedule things! I'm going to be really sad if she stops napping completely just in time for the baby to get here.

    @cookie_dough: aww my DS is obsessed with Mickey now too! I feel the same guilt. My DH went to the grocery store for me this weekend and took DS. I was going to do some cleaning but DH said I had to do something for me so I took my pup on a nice walk.

    This fever business is tricky!! She is definitely responding to the drugs, but I reallllly don't want to mess with it. I also am not sure about calling my doc for a visit today versus waiting it out, given how much I can't handle her getting worse closer to Saturday. DH can totally take over, but my flexibility working from home or with sick days is better than his which we are currently coveting for new baby time!

    @gingerblonde: Yay for passing your 3 hour! I'm in the same boat about just barely passing so I'm trying to basically follow the GD diet without the blood monitoring.

    @Beebug: Your bump looks cute! I hope your DD starts to feel better soon. She looks so cute in her PJs hanging out with the dog.

    @Mae: I'm sorry things at work are so crappy right now. My fingers are crossed for a great interview on Thursday and that they will be willing to work out the logistics with you!

    @cookie_dough: Monthly pre-natal massages sound heavenly! I haven't had a haircut in forever as well. I might try to make an appt before my next shower. It's looking a little miserable, but it's also long enough to put in a pony tail which is nice for convenience!

    Speaking of haircuts... I had such a things-nobody-tells-you-about pregnancy moment last night. Hadn't trimmed my err... bikini region in over two months since I couldn't see down there past about 20wks so DH and I had a real, um... bonding moment as he helped me out using his electric beard trimmer.

    It was kind of terrifying at first but then just hilarious - me all spread eagle and him wearing a headlamp deeply focused.

    How's that for TMI?

  14. Mae

    @anandam: oh. my. word. lol'ing my ass off. mostly at the headlamp honestly.

    @anandam: Bahahaha! That is so funny. I would not trust DH to do that!

    @Mae: Good luck on Thursday!

    @Beebug: Poor C! I hope she feels better soon. And I feel like sickness is always terribly timed.

    @cookie_dough: I feel guilt too about leaving if she is awake...and I stay home with her! So I pretty much don't leave. Fail. If I do it is during nap and I try not to feel bad about getting home after she has been up for awhile.

    @Mamasig: That is so obnoxious! People can be so rude.

  16. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @anandam: LOL omg I snorted chocolate milk up my nose. You are so brave! I would never let my DH down there for that purpose!!

    I need to get to waxing place....I am a bazillian getter! Had them up to 40+3 last time, haha! Will go this time, and then once more late April that should get me through EDD no problem!

    Headlamp.....really?! hahaha love it

    DDs temp is now low with a yuck cough and she sounds really congested. She's been in bed a half hour and is still whining, bleh. I went to work for a bit when DH got home, and I need to work for a bit now.....I don't think I will be in for at least the am tomorrow, we'll see.

    @sungirl: yay on passing!

    Home again today with DD, she is definitely better, but given she is napping already, she definitely needed more time home.

    Inside baby is moving like CRAZY! I had two hands on my belly this morning top to bottom beside the other and felt movement all over that length at the same time, so cool.....crazy!

  20. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Beebug: yay for big movement! Mine has been moving nonstop the last day or two too!

    So, I had my first appointment with the midwife practice today and it was great! So nice to feel officially moved over there. I also thought it was interesting they have different rules for the kick count thing. The doc had told me every night at the same time and 10 kicks in 2 hrs or I head straight to L&D. Midwife told me that if I"m feeling her move around all day I don't need to worry about it. If I'm too busy to notice her movement much throughout the day then do a kick count after dinner and I need to get to 6 kicks in 1 hr, and if I don't just give them a call. Seems reasonable and also a bit less stressful!

    Best news of the visit is LO is not breech! I was a bit nervous because I really thought she was due to the fact that I've been feeling all her kicks down low lately. But apparently what I thought was her head up over my belly button is actually her ass poking out, and her head is right down on my cervix, and she IS kicking me below the belly button but thats because she's folded in half with her legs outstretched! I was picturing her with her legs folded up by her butt so I guess that is what confused me. Yay for baby in good position! Hopefully she stays put!

    @Mae: Good luck tomorrow and yay for being head down! Are you relieved that you switched to the midwife practice? I think the kick counts by your doctor are way off. My last midwife said that I needed to check two times a day during his most active periods only and that was only because I was considered high risk. Otherwise it was just if movement seemed less than normal to lie down, drink and eat something, and then try counting. Pretty much similar advice from the midwife this time.

    @anandam: OMG I would never let my husband do that! (Even though he saw DS's entire delivery so definitely nothing new for him) I'd be WAAAAAYYY too self conscious. Good for you! I just try to do the best I can with a bikini shaver thing every few weeks.
    @Beebug: Aww I hope your little girl starts feeling better soon. Has she just been getting sick more often since starting daycare?
    @Mamasig: That is annoying about the commentary. I'm sure I'll hear all about it when my mom gets home from vacation too. There seriously needs to be a PSA about what not to say to pregnant women!

  22. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @skipra: I'm not sure if relieved is the right word, since I wasn't UNHAPPY with my ob. But I am definitely happy about the change and I feel very comfortable with the new practice

  23. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @mae: my doc is pretty laid back about the kick count thing. As long as you feel normal movement throughout the day you are fine. If you don't, then drink something and lie down.

    Leo moves so much more than big brother did. I have a bad tummy ache today and his constant movement makes me feel worse. I usually love feeling him love around but today it just hurts.

    So yesterday we had to drive 2.5-3 hours each way to go to a wake for DH's uncle. Of course my evil SIL was there and obviously not the right environment to get into our issues so I was planning to be nice to her but she totally ignored me and then was sitting with her cousin looking back at me and whispering to them. It was the first time I was meeting them and one of them was not very friendly after that but the other was super nice She's also been saying nasty things to BIL's girlfriend who I barely even know and have no problems with. She has been such a bully to DH his entire life and now that I won't put up with it she tells everyone that I'm so mean and trying to alienate the entire family. Ugh. Is it evil that I secretly hope she is too old to have kids to pass on the nastiness?

  25. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @skipra: I have an evil SIL too! Glad I'm
    Not the only one. She's actually better since I had DS but she was horrible before. She actually bad mouthed me to guests at my wedding reception and didn't join us in the family picture. Ugh! Hope it gets better for you.

    Oh also, my happy of the day: Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary! We're not doing anything fancy but DH is going to try to get off at a reasonable hour tonight and we're going to go to one of my fav restaurants. We never do weeknights out so sort of fun and special!

    @skipra: haha it's a crazy 2 weeks. Feb 14 is Valentines day, our dating anniversary, and also my brother's birthday (which my parents always come to town for), Feb 20 is my husband's birthday, and Feb 26 is our wedding anniversary. My card-writing hand sort of starts to cramp by the end of the month..

    That'd be fun if you had your LO on your anniversary though! I keep wondering if I might have ours on mothers day, since it is only 1 week after my due date. That would be sort of fun too (although by the time we get to may I'm sure I'll be like zomg get outtttt of me. hah)

    @skipra: She was sick all of Oct, Nov and Dec pretty much constantly (she started daycare full time first week of Oct), but *just* cold/runny nose, just ick stuff, nothing major. Daycare and I were just texting and both noted being surprised these were my first kid sick days from work, as nothing in the Fall was any worse than other kids there, and before daycare she had never had a cold at all! I was off today with her, and DH is taking tomorrow. I might see if my Mom will take Friday (she keeps offering, lol I don't let her help as much as she'd like), get her out of daycare for the week and not worry at all about setting her back any further.

    @Mae: Glad you are happy about the new practice! Good you got that first appt in, and great to move forward with!!! Happy 3 yr wedding anniv!!

    @skipra: lol yep dating anniv Feb 14th! Our 3rd wedding anniv will be in July!

    July is the everything happens month in DHs fam. All three boys married in July, two of three of those bro's bday's in July, both SILs are July bday's too. BIL/SIL #1 their dog was born in July too and of course that's included in the July stuff, haha! From July 9th to 14th there are three bdays, two wedding anniv's and one dog bday, it's crazy! Nephew was due in July 2012, but he was preemie and arrived in May! Our #2 better not cook til his bday...the 24th of May!

    I just got to work, I should realllllly get on actually working!

    @anandam: LOL! You created a serious visual there which is just too funny!

    I've been using my mirror reflection to get cleaned up down there but something tells me there may be stuff going on that I'm not fully aware of... still on pelvic rest anyway so bleh... I'll worry about cleaning up when the doc gives us the go ahead.. whenever that will be!

    @Mae: Happy Anniversary! Busy month for sure. This year Mother's Day is DH's birthday and he thinks it'd be cool for the baby to be born that day. While it is possible I'd prefer Puff to have his/her own day! Good luck tomorrow! Going back to kick counts...my midwives have never mentioned them as far as I can remember. They just make sure I am feeling normal movement.

    @Beebug: Poor girl! Hope she feels better soon. Good idea to just have her out for the rest of the week.

    @skipra: Yikes to your SIL. That sounds absolutely awful

    @Mamasig: Hope you're feeling better.

    @Mae: Happy anniversary!!! And isn't your interview today? (or maybe I'm totally mixing up days)...if so...good luck!!!!

    @Beebug: awwww, hope she's starting to feel better. I would totally call on your mom to look after her. We're pretty lucky, my mom already takes her once a week, AND usually takes her when she's too sick for daycare too.

    I'm hoping that baby boy can hold out until after mother's day. Mother's day is my excuse to pig out at a delicious buffet brunch! I'm already dreaming about it..mmmmmmm. Of course a new baby would be an acceptable alternative

DH and her dropped me off at work after we dropped my rig off for an oil change and we just listened to her sing the tune of the abc's on the drive, ugh...she hurts my heart!!!

    @Beebug: awwwww too cute! DD was in her own world in the backseat this morning. She had her little bunny and little bear with her, and they were having a full-on party back there. I turned the radio off and just listened to her because it was so awesome/hilarious. This is definitely my favorite age so far!!!
