All these talks about due dates a making it seem so real! Before we know it the board will be swamped with pics of LOs!!

Re: mucus plug-- I wonder if that is what my midwife was talking about at my last (34 wk) appointment? At every appointment prior I'd been told if I had any blood at ALL to call immediately. At my last appointment she told me that at this stage I might start noticing a lot of discharge and/or mucus and/or some blood, especially after strenuous activity or sex. She said unless I was bleeding like a period not to worry about it.

@HayleyJane: Wow I can't believe you started losing your mucus plug already. I don't think I ever lost mine with DS! Hope that baby stays put a few more weeks.

@Mae: I think chances are that you'll have the baby before the 16th!

@Beebug: Definitely no hospital bag yet! Same as you - ask me in a month

I had never heard of 5/4 - May the Fourth be with you until this thread. I have never made it through any of the Star Wars movies without falling asleep though (even in the theatre!) so that's probably why. So interesting that it's such a popular phrase! I think more about cinco de mayo birthdays which I'm sure would involve lots of fun birthday parties! My friend was due same day as me with her second and he was born on the 6th but they always celebrate on the 5th.

@skipra: Oh man I hope so!!! haha I think it is a "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" type mental game I play though. Knowing that DH was 2 weeks late and I was 3 weeks late (both of us 2nd children no less!) makes me feel like I might be pregnant forever--- or at least until this LO is served an eviction notice. But of course I really hope that is not the case because I fear induction!!

@HayleyJane: I've lost some of my mucus plug as well. It doesn't really signal anything. It can actually regenerate too.

So much going on here today. How cool. As for me, we are 34+1 today, mucus plug is still intact. But my bags are packed and sitting in the coat closet ready to go. Nursery is ready and clothes are washed. All that's left now is for babies to come. I really am excited about meeting them already tho.

    I feel behind!

I haven't even thought about my hospital bag. I just washed the car seats and started on his clothes today.

I still have my mucus plug. I never lost it with DS.

Oh man, hospital bags already?! Nope mine isn't packed yet. I just looked back in my book from R and I wrote that I started packing in week 37...which is just around the corner. We will probably be installing our base in the next two weeks as well. Craziness!

I never noticed losing my mucus plug with R so who knows if I will notice this time. The only thing I noticed with her was my bloody show and that is only because it signaled the start of labor for me!

Kind of a gross question but is anyone else drooling more when they sleep? For some reason that is a symptom of mine with this babe and R. It's nasty!

  9. junebugmama

    nectarine / 2019 posts

@cheesetomywhine: bahahaha about the drool. Not to be be gross but today I took a nap with J2 and woke up on my side with drool running out of my mouth into my ear!!! WTF??!?! LOL

    @cheesetomywhine: I think I just drool normally!

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

I am such a drooler on a normal basis, don't notice it any worse when preggo!

I had never heard of May the fourth be with you, nor do I really know what cinco de mayo is, probably because I'm Canadian? I mean, I do now, but it definitely doesn't mean anything to me!

Hoping to not sweat like crazy tonight, bedtime for me, took this before showering tonight, eeeep 34w!

Oh my goodness, so many of you are already more prepared. I haven't packed my hospital bag either. I only packed baby's part of the bag, which isn't much since the hospital will provide us with some main stuff, such as diapers and such. The nursery is getting there. At least we do have the pack and play set up in our bedroom, which my little fur baby keeps sniffing lol .... and we do have his crib set up in his room as well as all his clothes are washed and ready to be used. I need to get more cloth diapers, I think so far we have about 11 diapers, which need to be washed....ay yi yi and mucus plug?!?!? I still have mine, but I do hear that it doesn't necessarily means labor? Oh and DH and I purchased our Mamaroo over the weekend. I cant wait to use it hee hee

    @Beebug: You look great!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Also, watch out for those April's fool jokes

All the hospital bag talk made me order a new little monogrammed bag for Leo to put his things in for the hospital. I'm probably going overboard with the monogramming, but he mostly has hand me downs!

Olivia Wilde is due on May the Fourth. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/olivia-wilde-reveals-due-date-article-1.1577961

I'm pissed because she's like half my size and due BEFORE me

I plan on packing my hospital bag....when my water breaks? 5 minutes before we leave for the hospital? I feel like I never used any of the stuff I packed except my and the baby's going-home clothes. What I really needed when I was at the hospital was stuff that you can't pack, like food and coffee. Last time I brought my own pillow like everyone says to do, and then of course I left it at the hospital, so I'm not going to do that again. The one thing I want to bring this time is a dark-colored, lightweight robe to wear on the day(s) that I have to stay after the baby is born, so I can stay covered up but not ruin any normal clothes with the grossness.

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Beebug: you look so cute!

@whodat: lol funny you should mention her. DH and I were randomly talking about jason sudekis the other day and he was like... isn't he married to someone hot? And I said he was either married or with Olivia Wilde but she's pregnant now. And I was like "or maybe she had the baby... I feel like she's been pregnant FOREVER." Funny bc she is due the same day as me. And I think I've been pregnant forever too so I guess that makes sense.... Also that pic is from like 2.5 months ago so I'm betting she is bigger by now.

Also I think all you people jinxed me with your drool talk! I don't usually but I woke up last night and totally had drooled all over my face. I was like omg its May Moms faults! haha

@Mae: haha drool talk!! I sure am a drooler and have always been, but I have noticed that lately its a bit more than usual....#getnewpillowcovers lol

Another side by side for 34w only because I had record of the week and my weight for #1!

So left side is 34w with #1 (girl) and 184lbs.
    Right is 34w with #2 (!!!!) and 179lbs.

I should have put the same shirt on, but oh well.

@Beebug: love the side-by-side comparison! It definitely looks from those pictures that you are carrying differently this time.

So I'm 99% sure that baby boy has turned breech. He keeps popping his head out at the top of my belly...unless it's a butt, but I really think it feels like a head. Of course I'm not expert, so I could be totally wrong...but I'm assuming that if he IS breech, we will be scheduling my c-section for before 40 weeks (it's currently scheduled for 40 weeks + 3 days). Guess I'll just wait and see!

@iluvpink: You are SO much more prepared than me. I'm going to post a photo of our nursery later. We don't even have a real floor, there's a huge hole in the wall, the closet needs some new drywall, we need to install baseboard and paint, plus buy all the furniture. And...only like 3 free weekends at the most to do all that!
@cookie_dough: I bet it's a butt! Baby boy loves to poke his butt out the top of my belly. Either the middle or right side and it seems huge. DS used to do the same thing and I was convinced it was a head. Where are you feeling hiccups? I think that's the easiest way to tell.

@Beebug: You look great! And it does seem like you're carrying differently this time.

@cheesetomywhine: I drool a lot normally and it was really bad early in the pregnancy. Now I just have the throwing up in the middle of the night thing, which happened again last night. Yuck

  23. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@cookie_dough: DDs was so round, this one has flat parts on the bump! I am loving that I am about 5 lbs lighter this time! Will be interesting to see how I finish weightwise!!

  24. iluvpink

    cherry / 130 posts

@Beebug: You are def carrying different this time

@cookie_dough: mine LO is doing the same and part of me thinks its the head that's near my ribs and the small lump (lower location) its the butt, but I could be wrong. I am not expert either. Whatever it is, it needs to stop hitting my ribs. I also think my boy is breech

@skipra: wow! it does sound like you have a lot more to finish. Hopefully you can accomplish a lot in 3 weeks.

  25. cookie_dough

    kiwi / 619 posts

@skipra: I actually haven't felt any hiccups at all in about a month! So that's no help hahaha. Mine is on the middle or right side too...it feels so round and non-butt-like...but maybe it is!!!

  26. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@cookie_dough: My LO sticks her butt out all the time! I would've thought it was a head because it's still pretty little and round but she was doing it at one of my visits and the midwife is like oooo there's her butt! lol.

@Beebug: comparison pics are so fun!

  27. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

@cookie_dough: I was convinced my DS's butt was his head for quite a while! The US proved me wrong though. They've been stuck in the same positions for the last month or so, though, so I'm pretty sure this huge lump on my left side that I always rub is actually his head this time.

@Beebug: I love the comparison! You are such a cute pregnant woman with an adorable little bump!

Is anyone confused as to whether or not they are having BH? I keep thinking maybe I am--- but then I *think* it isn't that I'm having a BH but rather that LO is trying so hard to stretch that she just puts a lot of pressure on my stomach for a minute before relaxing. I think she's getting really annoyed at her lack of room.

  29. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

@Mae: I never had BH either time. This baby moves so much more than my 1st and many times it is uncomfortable. I don't think it's BH though.

  30. Glitter

@Mae: I get Braxton Hicks frequently and my entire stomach tightens and feels rock hard to the touch. It's also uncomfortable walking while it's happening.

Hey Mamas. It has been a little while, so I just caught up on all the reading. I was LOLing at some of the comments especially the one on drooling. I too have become as drool-upy as my dog.

@mae- I have been having occasional Braxton Hicks. Initially thought it was painful gas.

@cookie dough- you baby's butt sticks out too and looks like a head, but the ultrasound says it is the bottom. Sometimes she wiggles it from side to side, sticking her butt from one end to the other. Especially if Beyonce is playing.

@beebug- you have the cutest bumps both times.

We have the nursery done, and this weekend I spent washing baby's clothes. Packing my bags this week, and getting schooled on installing the car seat this weekend. We have pediatrician interview tonight. Still I feel under prepared.

I played the best April fools prank on my husband yesterday. Called him and told him to come upstairs because "I think my water broke"! It was so good. My husband is very hard to prank or surprise so I felt some victory.

P.s. Thought you would all like this garment label I came across while doing baby laundry this weekend! Gotta love the French

  32. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Coopersmama: lol I've seen that before online and always thought it was a prank. awesome that it is real.

@Mamasig: @Glitter: Yea I don't think they are legit BH, I just keep thinking they are lol. LO seems so strong at this point and she can make half my stomach really hard if she stretches out, but it isn't the whole stomach and when I pay attention I can feel her moving. So I think it's just her. underwhelmed by her accommodations

  33. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

@Coopersmama: lol! Never seen that label before. Hilarious!

My SIL played that same prank on my MIL... who panics A LOT and is most fearful of me going early. She told her I was in labor and she started panicking on the phone lol. Needless to say she did not find it funny.

  34. Glitter

Also I've started drinking red raspberry leaf tea. Any of you mamas ever tried it? Did it help?

  35. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

thanks all on bump comments, definitely different this time, and thank-you @twodoghouse: on cute pregnant comment, feeling cute is far and few between, but nice to have a moment Where DD goes to daycare is all over me lately with how small I am for how close to due date, and was throwing my own stats at me this am, started this pregnancy about 10lbs heavier, but currently about 5 lbs lighter, guess I never thought about it that way, funny she did.

@Mae: Between #1 and this one, I still don't think I could tell you what a BH contraction is! No idea!

@Coopersmama: How cool is that garment label!!!

I slept the last two nights half decently, thank goodness. So the trick with the plastic mattress cover we have over our mattress now is apparently every fitted sheet we have, some towels, one more fitted sheet, and then I can sleep on top of it. Definitely no sweats the last two nights, thank goodness.

  36. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@Glitter: I started drinking it at 40+4 last time, and had 2-3 cups a day of it (loved it!!) and I went into labour on 40+5, so who knows, lol.

  37. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

@Beebug: yes it does taste decent! Do u think it helped with your pushing? My midwife says it doesn't send you into labor but it prepares your uterus for labor by causing it to contract more effectively.

  38. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Glitter: For half a second I contemplate pranking my parents. They were in Mexico on vacation with no internet/phone service for a week and my mom's biggest fear is that I would go into labor while they were gone. They got back yesterday and I thought it would be sort of funny to be like "Yea soooooooo the baby came! She's awesome!" but I'm just not a pranker!

Re: Red raspberry leaf tea, I am so intrigued by it! I plan to ask my midwives about it at my next appointment. I meant to at my last one but I forgot. How does it taste? I'm not the biggest tea person-- I really only like flavored ones and I've heard it does not taste that good. I'm wondering if the capsules are as effective ?

  39. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

@Mae: it's just slightly sweet with a light berry flavor. I think you can drink it without sweetener if you're a tea person, but I love sweet so I add a teaspoon of honey in there. Goes down real easy.

  40. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@Glitter: I liked the taste! No idea on pushing help as I don't really have anything to compare too, and pushing was still hard. They probably say this to everyone, but they said I was an excellent pusher, lol.

I will buy it again soon, figure why not try it! But won't bother until closer to or after edd again. I know there are a ton of different start times recco'd for it. I just get into the fresh pineapple and that closer to edd! I think I ate one fresh pineapple a day the week I was due, lol.
