@Mae: Looking good! And so does your yummy treat! I think I am the only weirdo that has no craving for ice cream whatsoever. I just can't eat it when it's cold outside. I could drink my body weight in hot chocolate though!
@Apex: Glad to hear your update and that you're doing well! You are getting so close!
@the_bees_knees: Glad to hear you are doing well and planning to get discharged tomorrow. Your story about the nurse sounds similar to me last pregnancy. I didn't pack my hospital bag until the morning of my induction. Hope your little guy is growing well and will go home next week!
@Beebug: Very cute bump! Can you notice a difference in the shape or way you're carrying compared to your DD? Everyone has told me both times that my belly is very round and no question I'm having a boy but I have nothing to compare it to.

And here is my 34 week bump that I took this morning. I feel like it's so much bigger than it looks in pictures! (And please excuse the mess...our house is a construction zone)

Here is my last pic I've taken. I think I'm pointier this pregnancy and the baby seems lower.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@skipra: I'm carrying a little differently and both are boys! Last time I was rounder while this time I'm pointier. At least according to my mom and DH. I'm also no where near as swollen as last time so that may make a difference too.
And all the mamas look great!

@Beebug: @skipra: @Mamasig: Looking good ladies!
@the_bees_knees: glad to hear you guys will be going home soon! If I was to go into labor right now I would be in the same position you were in. We have nothing ready! In fact, we still have to close on our house and move in so I'm really hoping he is comfortable in there for a bit more
Doctor appts will be starting every week now with exams. between 36-37 weeks I'll go for a growth scan but she said I seem to be measuring perfectly and right on track. Can't beat that! stay in there kiddo - I got a lot of stuff to do before you arrive!

@skipra: @Mamasig: You two look great!
@mrsog: oh man, when do you move? Some good friends of ours were building a house this fall when pregnant and due to bad weather it kept getting delayed. They ended up closing the day after their LO was born and moving in when she was 4 days old. Talk about stressful!
kiwi / 619 posts
@Mae: @Beebug: @skipra: @Mamasig: Love all the bump pics!
@mrsog: Ahhh, I can't believe you still have to close on your house and move! Definitely stay in there baby
We don't have anything ready other than the nursery (and that's only ready because it's currently in use by DD hahaha). We haven't installed the car seat, I haven't even started to think about what to pack in my hospital bag, and I haven't REALLY made arrangements for DD to be looked after while I'm in the hospital. I mean, I know my parents will look after her, but I don't know if it will be at our house, their house, if they will keep taking her to daycare while they have her, i haven't written out her schedule, and worst of all, I haven't prepared her in the least for having a baby brother, etc. yikes!
papaya / 10343 posts
@cookie_dough: I only have some stuff ready because my doc/midwives have been pushing it since 24 weeks! I had to have a pediatrician to tell them by 28 weeks, and I got sent home from my 34 week appointment with homework (writing a birth plan to bring back at 36 week appointment). And we only have a car seat because we got it for our shower, but I haven't even thought of installing it yet-- I guess I should do that! I do still need to figure out what to pack for the hospital too.

This is me on Sunday (33 weeks) on our way to church. Couldn't get my head in the same shot, too big haha.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
I don't have much done either. I just moved all of DS' clothes out of the nursery and started putting away the baby clothes but they aren't washed yet. Car seat is still upstairs! I'm not stressing about it. At least not yet anyway. My goal is to have it done by the time I'm around 35 weeks. I still have almost a month!
persimmon / 1281 posts
I'm way behind all of you! My shower is April 12th and we're waiting til then to see what's left to buy. We purchased the big items (crib, cosleeper, stroller, carseat) about a month ago but have yet to receive them! #thirdworldproblems. So if baby comes RIGHT NOW, he has absolutely nothing, except a pair of booties my neighbour knitted and gave to us and a single sample disposable diaper from our birthing class, lol.
apricot / 388 posts
@Mae: @cookie_dough: it literally should be any day now. just waiting for the bank to give their final ok. we were hoping closing would be tomorrow so we could move this weekend/early next week. I'm still hoping we are in by next weekend though bc my shower is the 5th and I would really love to be able to just bring everything home from there. We did get a car though finally so at least we can get to the hospital if we have to! lol

@mrsog: yay! fingers crossed it comes through soon.
@Glitter: well hopefully he stays put a while and gives you time to get your stuff! Also, cute pic!
Today's weirdness? I'm lopsided lol. Baby girl is sitting with her rump under my ribs on the left side and it is making that side of my stomach stick out more. Looks so weird!
apricot / 388 posts
@Mae: I am always lopsided! he spends almost all of his time on my right side with his feet up under my ribs. sometimes he really bulges though and it looks crazy. after seeing @the_bees_knees baby born at 34 weeks it has really given me perspective to what is in there. its a real person and I can't wait to meet him!

Hi ladies! Quick update - I went to L&D so my OB could make sure my swelling wasn't symptomatic of pre-e. Fortunately, all my test results were good and baby's vitals were excellent! They kept me for monitoring a little while longer and did the NST. My OB came and said that he suspects my SPD issue is causing the swelling - that my pelvis is putting pressure on my nerves and veins, affecting circulation to my lower extremeties. Even though the swelling is pretty severe, it's not cause for concern - just discomfort, and will likely get worse until she's born.
I am so glad that I only have one more full week of commuting, and then will begin my abbreviated 3 day-per-week schedule for April. But more so... I am glad that everything is okay with baby girl!!! Sad that I didn't get to see an U/S, but happy I heard her little heart beating away.

@gingerblonde: so glad that you and baby are doing well!!! Sucks that you'll be dealing with this until delivery though!

@gingerblonde: I'm so glad you went and got checked out and that baby girl is doing well! Hope the last full week of your commute goes quickly!
@Mae: I get lopsided too because A's butt and B's head are always so close together on my left side. So even though the rest of them are spread out all over, I always get this big lump on the left of my belly button!

@Glitter: you look do cute!
@gingerblonde: so glad to hear it's not pre-e

@gingerblonde: Glad to hear that everythign is ok!
So I guess I waited too long to take my rings off...it got my warmer here today and all of a sudden my fingers expanded. I just wrestled with my engagement ring in the kitchen at work for 10 minutes trying to get it off. Finally, after turning my fingers all shades of blue and purple, I got it off. I'll wait a bit before attempting my wedding ring!!!

@Beebug: @skipra: @Mamasig: You ladies look amazing
@mrsog: so its an every week check starting 36 weeks? I am glad all is well with you and your LO
@Mae: I get those moments too, when LO decides to stick out more on one side, and its just so weird to look down and see a very weird egg shape haha
@cookie_dough: I am pretty much in the same rider, I have nothing prepared for hospital. I don't have another child to be looked after, but I do have my little fur baby that I have to make sure I remind my parents they need to care while I am in the hospital. Hopefully we will get it together. I also have to start planning on meal to freeze ... ay yi yi
@Glitter: you are all belly!
@gingerblonde: I am glad all is well with baby Hopefully this week flies by, so you don't have to commute so much. I have 3 more weeks before my schedule changes too. I cant wait!
@cookie_dough: ouch! poor finger
So I woke up this morning with the worst low back pain ever!!! it has been coming and going through the morning. IDK what to think of it. IDK if its something else or just baby being rude to mommy today. Can it actually be back pain contractions or BH? I've been getting BH on and off since 20'something weeks, but this is the first time that my back hurts, ever in the 8 months.....ummmmmm!!!!????? I guess I can wait it out right?
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@gingerblonde: So glad to hear you and baby are doing well. But boo on dealing with all that swelling. Hope your reduced schedule will help with it.
@Mae: Yes I get lopsided too whenever he stretches out. It's really funny to look at.
@mrsog: Good luck with the house! Hope everything is finalized soon!
Ok, this is so gross but I threw up a little in my sleep last night. I haven't been able to eat much lately, especially in the evenings but that was so disgusting. Ah the wonders of pregnancy.
papaya / 10343 posts
@cookie_dough: omg ow! So glad you got it off! I don't sleep with my rings on because my fingers are always swollen overnight (even before pregnancy) so hopefully if they get too big for rings I'll realize as the rings are on their way ON rather than when I'm trying to take them OFF haha
@iluvpink: I'm doing freezer meals too! I plan to clean out the freezer of anything non-necessary this weekend to make room, then start cooking 1-2 extra meals per week to freeze so we won't have to exist on fast food and ramen when LO comes home haha Also I would maybe call your doc about that back pain if it is coming and going. I've heard labor pains can definitely be felt primarily in the back!! And I think that was actually in one of my midwife handouts about how to tell BH from legit contractions. BH are generally only in the belly and legit contractions are often felt primarily or additionally in the back. I'd drink some water and lay down and call your doc just to be really safe
@skipra: lol aw. I haven't done that but occasionally after I eat I'll burp and come close to throwing up. Pregnancy is so attractive lol. I feel like my stomach is just all kinds of squished now.
cherry / 130 posts
@skipra: Oh no! poor you Eating has become quite a challenge for me as well. I have appetite, but as soon as I take a bite or two I am full and cant even enjoy my meals
wonders of pregnancy is just about right....sigh!!
cherry / 130 posts
@Mae: Thank you for the advice. I will call my doctor. Also, what kind of meals are you freezing. I never had to freeze meals before, so I am not sure what kind I should do, like soups or casseroles or what?? I will keep you guys posted when I hear back from my OB.
papaya / 10343 posts
@iluvpink: I need to do a bit more thinking/planning on that… but I started a pinterest board for ideas. Not a ton on there yet but you're welcome to browse to see if it helps you at all: http://www.pinterest.com/clerksgrl/freezer-meals-for-postpartum/
papaya / 10343 posts
@iluvpink: No problem! We don't usually eat so much casserole-y type stuff but I think that is what freezes well and any home cooked food is going to be preferable to Arbys (again, lol) I'm sure. Also I plan to make a lasagna but I didn't pin that because I have my own fav recipe.
olive / 52 posts
@iluvpink: I need to get on the freezer meals! I have a few books that I've been browsing to make a list of ingredients to buy. Just need to take the time to do it.
@skipra: I have been randomly throwing up a little in my mouth for the past couple of weeks. Super-fun.
@gingerblonde: So glad to hear that the swelling is not serious! It's still probably annoying, but better than pre-e.
I had BH all night the night before last and they were actually kinda painful. I didn't want to freak out and make the long drive to the hospital unnecessarily and I knew I was pretty dehydrated, so I just drank a couple of Nalgene's worth of water and had to pee every 10 minutes all night. I have GOT to be better about drinking water...
honeydew / 7230 posts
@iluvpink: Hope the back pain is getting better. Not to freak you out but back pain is on my list of things to look out for with pre term labor. Hopefully you can drink a lot of water and take it easy today!
@skipra: I'm sorry about throwing up in your sleep - that sounds terrible!
@Mae: @iluvpink: My sister and her husband actually made us a whole bunch of freezer meals as part of our shower gift. They freeze a lot of things already so I just left them it up to them what would work well for freezing. So we have tomato sauce and meatballs, BBQ pork, shredded chicken, and a few lasagna a in our freezer now! I want to do some more, but I feel pretty good about our little stockpile so far.
@HayleyJane: Scary about the BH but I'm glad water did the trick! Hope you're feeling better and staying hydrated today!
cherry / 130 posts
@HayleyJane: BH are certainly not pleasant. I hope you are feeling much better today
@twodoghouse: thank you, lady I called my OB and they told me to take Tylenol, which I am not ( I hate taking medication while pregnant), so for now I am just going to keep drinking water and take it easy. DH texted me and said he will prepare a nice bath, so we could both relax. Hopefully that will help too.
kiwi / 619 posts
@iluvpink: ugh, that sounds awful! I started getting some back pain this week as well...in my lower back, making it hard to walk. But it seems to have disappeared again. Sounds like yours is much worst than mine was HOpefully the bath will help!
@skipra: Oh no! that sounds quite unpleasant!!! like @HayleyJane I have been "almost" throwing up the last week or so, but I never actually end up throwing up...just a bit in my mouth. super lovely.
I had all these grand intentions of having a fully stocked freezer before baby gets here. For Christmas, I asked my parents for a gift certificate for one of those places where you go and prep a bunch of meals to bring home and put in your freezer. It was going to give us like a month's worth of food. But then we had to replace our furnace, so I asked them for a bit of help towards that instead. So now my freezer remains completely unstocked and I haven't made any plans to cook/freeze anything.
papaya / 10343 posts
@twodoghouse: that is an awesome shower gift! I'm excited to start building a bit of a stash. I hate cooking anyways, so maybe this will get me in the habit of doing a little freezer cooking which would make my life easier anyways.
@iluvpink: glad you called! hopefully you feel better soon
@cookie_dough: maybe do it slow? I'm not really planning a full day of cooking or anything. I just plan to get stuff for an extra 1-2 meals per week at the grocery store and prepare one thing at a time as I have time. Although if I get ambitious the next time my mom is in town I might ask her to help me with a full afternoon of cooking to extra stock up even more. We'll see. Anything is better than our current state of nothingness lol. DH and I always joke that we'd be the first ones dead in the zombie apocalypse because we never have any food in the house except for what I buy for meals for that actual week. By Saturday (we shop sunday am every week) our cupboards have like…. a few crackers and cans of peaches we're never going to eat.
kiwi / 619 posts
@Mae: I will give it a try, but these days cooking is somewhat of a nightmare. I get home from work around 5h00 (picking up DD on the way) and she is a clingy grumpy mess until I give her dinner (so we are usually eating by 5h30). In order to actually get dinner ready by 5h30, I have to have everything prepped the night before. So I feel like I spend my entire evening trying to cook dinner, feeding DD, cleaning and then prepping the next meal. Adding MORE cooking/cleaning on top of that just seems so overwhelming to me these days. And on weekends, I don't really have much DD-free time where I could actually get any cooking done either....other than during nap time...and it would take a LOT to get me to give up my nap time while DD naps hahaha. But I will try to put together a plan of a few things to make. I do try to make extras of the meals we do cook, and put the leftovers in the freezer, but most of the meals we like don't really freeze well. I'm not too worried about what DH and I eat once the baby gets here (yes, we definitely survived on our fair share of mcdonalds and pizza), but I have to remember that I have to feed DD as well!
cherry / 130 posts
@Mae: @cookie_dough: thank you for your well wishes and support, ladies
@cookie_dough: I don't blame you for wanting to give up time with your DD and especially your nap time. I wouldn't either. You need it before a second comes around and takes your nap time away. If your parents watch her, can they prepare meals for her or do you have a specific diet/meal plan for her?
kiwi / 619 posts
@iluvpink: Oh my parents can definitely prepare meals for her when they watch her. In fact, she will eat pretty much anything my mom cooks (and yet won't eat anything I cook...hahaha she must think I"m a terrible cook). I may enlist my mom to prepare a few meals for us. The problem there is that DH really doesn't like my mom's cooking...gah...there's just no winning! I live in a house of picky picky eaters. peanut butter and toast for everyone! that's all they are going to get
