@the_bees_knees: Congratulations! How amazing! He looks like such a healthy boy, and I love the name Rowan.
@skipra: Same here re freaking out about stuff to do. I have made a schedule that hopefully DH will abide by. Approximately 5 weekends until baby is here (not counting holiday weekends/vacations), and I have a major task that has to get done each weekend. This weekend is buy a new car weekend, next weekend is install a sink in the kids' bathroom weekend, and so on. And DS needs to move into his big boy bed at least a month before baby gets here and kicks him out of the crib. Ugh.

@the_bees_knees: congratulations! He is adorable. Hope he doesn't have to stay in NICU long.
I definitely have a lot of cravings since reading this. I've definitely haven't been as good with the guidelines this time. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love sweet tea. I've had it once or twice a week this time. As for soft serve I didn't hear that until the end of my pregnancy last time so I've broken that both times. I really don't get the things they caution you about to avoid listeria because every time I hear about an outbreak it's always found in fresh fruit or veggies! Last night I had a small tasting of wine in my own glass and it was awesome! My MIL brought over a good bottle so I felt like it was a good time for a cheat.

@the_bees_knees: Congratulations! Can't believe our first baby has arrived!!! He's beautiful.
So I've been pretty thirsty and having some fluid retention. Today I have these beauties going on - I feel like Miss Piggy.

@gingerblonde: omg that looks painful!
So um… whats the farthest you'd drive for a craving? Every since yesterday when we were talking about DQ (or really ever since last weekend, but yesterday renewed it) I've really wanted an ice cream sundae. Totally considering running to get one right now… but its like 25-30 min round trip. And I feel really stupid driving half an hour round trip for ice cream…… lol
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mae: Is it funny yesterday I thought about where the nearest DQ was?! I don't think there's one in my city except in the mall, the next closest one would be 20 mins or so I think! I would do it, haha!
@gingerblonde: holy moly retention! Does it increase/decrease different times of day?
nectarine / 2019 posts
@Mae: Oh that's still close lol
@gingerblonde: Wow those are really swollen! They look painful. Have you had an appt recently?
kiwi / 619 posts
@gingerblonde: Oh my, that does NOT look comfortable. I can't remember where you are located, but hopefully you are able to wear comfy shoes/flip flops and don't have to be wearing boots outside these days!!!
@Mae: hahaha, I would say go for it if the weather is ok quickly, before rush hour hits! and then post of a pic of the deliciousness so that I can live vicariously through you. I must admit that I just ran across the street to starbucks for a chai latte, which I"m sure has at least the same amount of sugar as any ice cream treat! Doh. Oh well...my ONE treat for the day...I promise!

@the_bees_knees: Congratulations! Baby Rowan looks perfect!! I'm glad you guys are both healthy and I hope his NICU stay is short.
I have another friend who was due at the end of April and was induced the other night, so I am officially freaking out about all of the things left to do now!

Ugh, bummer. I was all set to go but I was on the phone with tech support bc we are having issues w/ our ATT service. And they are like "oh we can send someone out right now. They'll be there within the next 1.5 hours." So now I can't leave. And then I have a call at 4. and by the time that's over it will be rush hour Maybe the ATT guy will get here in like the next 10 min and I can still run out and get it before my 4pm call haha
kiwi / 619 posts
@Mae: I guess it's just not meant to be I don't know why, but this reminded me about your post of "letting the universe decide for you" Lol.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Mae: Maybe you could call ATT back and ask for the service guy to bring you a sundae on the way, haha.
@gingerblonde: Oh my, that looks uncomfortable! Can you keep them elevated most of the day? When my swelling started my dr. made sure I was keeping them elevated above my heart when I got home for the day. Before that I was just putting them up, but definitely not above my heart. Has your doctor seen the swelling? I hope everything's ok!
papaya / 10343 posts
@cookie_dough: haha yes. the universe decided yes on baby, no on sundae.
@twodoghouse: lol that would be so awesome. he calls to tell me he's on the way and I'm all "ummmm i'm 8 months pregnant, any way you could swing by the custard shop and bring me a sundae?" Also, (more importantly!) how is bed rest going for you?
cherry / 184 posts
@Beebug: In the past, the swelling hasn't been so extreme, and was definitely worst at the end of the day. This crazy swelling started last night, I thought it would improve after a soak in epsom salts and a night of rest... but it's even worse this morning.
@cookie_dough: I'm in Seattle and fortunately my office is pretty casual and it's fine for me to wear my hideous Crocs a size too big all the time now.
@junebugmama: @twodoghouse: I had an appointment last week and the doc commented on my puffiness/swelling, but it wasn't this bad. I can hardly walk - it's too painful. I called and the nurse said she'd talk it over with him.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Mae: It turns out I have an incredible propensity for laying on a couch and sleeping all day, so bed rest isn't too bad yet. I am doing work from home which gets uncomfortable because I haven't figured out a good way to be on my couch and also have my laptop on my lap, mousing around, etc. I'm also used to working with two screens, so tabbing between documents and InDesign and Photoshop sort of sucks. But I really don't have too much to complain about right now.
@gingerblonde: I hope your nurse gets back to you soon! Sending you feet de-swelling vibes!
nectarine / 2019 posts
@gingerblonde: When I was swollen like that it was because of pre-e. How's your blood pressure?
papaya / 10343 posts
@twodoghouse: So glad to hear it isn't too bad at this point! I suspect it will get a bit old rather soon, but hopefully you have lots of good stuff queued up to watch
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@gingerblonde: wow that looks really painful. I hope it goes down soon. Are you able to elevate and keep off them?
@Mae: good luck getting your DQ!
@twodoghouse: do you have a table you can use or a breakfast in bed tray? Hope bed rest continues to agree with you!
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Mae: My list of shows to watch the rest of bed rest and retirement (what I'm calling the next couple years of not working, ha) is astronomical. As soon as I'm done working from home I am going to start on Friday Night Lights on Netflix.
@skipra: I've got my coffee table scootched up next to the couch, but it's not an ideal set up. I'm going to see what we can tonight when my husband gets home to get a better situation put together.
apricot / 309 posts
@gingerblonde: poor thing. I had swelling like that last time which everyone commented on but my dr said it was just a side effect of being pregnant in summer. Is it only your feet or anywhere else? My dr told me to be concerned if I had swelling in my face or hands too as a sign of pre-e.
cherry / 184 posts
@sungirl: My hands and feet are a bit swollen too. I have been told to go to L&D to get checked out and do a non-stress test... hopefully all is well!

I'm having these for dessert tonight. I'm not even splitting the plate with anyone, all of them....in my belly...

I'm seriously considering battling rush hour after my call bc i still really want the ice cream

@Mae: I would definitely do it. In fact, you have me craving now and DQ is only 10 minutes away. I wonder if DH will encourage me...

In other news, took my 34 week photo today, even though I never ended up getting dressed. Oh well Funny story: Last night I was trying to get up off the couch and my husband was laughing and I'm like seriously-- tape a basketball to your stomach and try this. He's like "Yea I mean at some point your stomach is going to outpace your boobs!" I'm like Ummmmmm that happened like almost 20 weeks ago. Have you looked at me at ALL in the last several months? Lol Men!

@the_bees_knees: Congratulations! Beautiful boy : )
I've missed like 25 pages and there's no way I can catch up. Oh well.
We have finally started on the nursery - the walls have been painted, a new floor has been put down, and we put together the crib and changing table. It could use some curtains and stuff on the walls, but it's a start! Plus, she won't be sleeping in there at first anyway. My work shower and friends/family shower are both this weekend, so we will know after that what we still need to pick up.
Even though I feel giant and constantly have feet in my ribs, I still find it hard to believe that there's a mostly-formed 4.5lb baby in there. Does anyone else feel that way? I just can't fathom that she will be on the outside in 7-ish weeks.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Beebug: @Mae: So jealous those treats! I'm still craving a DQ blizzard. Maybe tonight!
@Mae: Cute picture! You look great!
@HayleyJane: yay for upcoming showers and working on the nursery! I can't believe mine will be on the outside so soon either. Time is flying in a seriously scary way
papaya / 10343 posts
@HayleyJane: I know what you mean. My first thought when I saw The_Bees_Knees photo was omg my kid looks like that right now??? She was due only 1 day before me, so theoretically, my baby looks like that. INSIDE MY BELLY. I can't decide what % awesome/weird/creepy that is haha.

@Mae: @Beebug: Thanks for the concern ladies, we're doing great, growing gradually everyday.
I looked in the mirror the other day and ALAS!!!! at 33 weeks, i now have stretch marks
It made me kinda sad although i knew it was somewhat inevitable with twins.
Starting next week, we are scheduled to get a NST twice a week. I kinda think that is slightly excessive tho, but then again Dr's know best.....i hope.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Apex: It's great to see an update from you! Taking 33 weeks to get stretch marks is great! How long will your dr let you go with the twins? We had previously talked about 38 weeks with my dr but I'm on procardia now to stop contractions and the drs said they'll take me off at 36 weeks and see what happens then. I can't wait to find out the sex of your twins!

@the_bees_knees: Congratulations! He is beautiful! Hope his stay isn't long and that you are recovering well. Sounds like you had a pretty scary experience.
@gingerblonde: Ouch! I hope the NST goes well and that your swelling decreases.
@twodoghouse: Glad to hear that you have plenty of shows to occupy yourself after you finish up work at home. Hopefully in the meantime you can figure out a good setup.
@Mae: Yum! I've wanted a sundae and/or an icee (such a weird one!) but alas I have not gotten one. I actually went to a convenience store nearby for an icee but the only flavors they had were cola or banana. The ones I wanted were out of order I took it as a sign and came home and ate an apple instead. Love the picture!
@Apex: Glad to hear you are doing well!
clementine / 770 posts
@twodoghouse: I know right, i was kinda hoping i didn't get stretch marks at all, but hey, i'm not complaining. I haven't had any issues at all besides the nausea, so my Dr is not super worried. He thinks we can make it up to 37 weeks, if they don't make their appearance before then, we would induce. i'm not sure i'm willing to let them go past 36 weeks tho.
Quick question, how much do your babies weigh right now? mine are about 3 and 4 lbs respectively.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Apex: On Monday (32 w 4 d) A was estimated at 4 lb 2 oz. B was 4 lb 1 oz. B has usually been a few ounces bigger than his sis at growth scans, but they he was a little smaller that time. Of course it's not an exact science though! I will be happy to get to 36 weeks, though apparently after 34 they won't stop it if I go into labor!

Thanks for all of the well wishes! I should be discharged on Friday and we're hoping we'll get to bring him home Monday or Tuesday. It's crazy that at 34wks they are actually tiny humans in there!
Thankfully hubby finished the bones of the nursery(flooring, trim, painting, new lighting and hung curtains) but nothing else is done. He ran out to buy a car seat last night!
Funny story- when we were in triage the nurse asked us if we had a birth plan(no), car seat(no), diapers(no), pediatrician(we have a meeting scheduled 4/1 so not really) then she asked us if we knew we were pregnant yep, just slackers!
These last few weeks treat yourself, even if that means driving 30min to the nearest DQ;)
