11 weeks now, and nausea has ramped up significantly. Threw up today, and have been gagging too. Hope this ends soon.
NT ultrasound and first OB appointment in less than a week!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@tinyperson: Doctor told me it peaks at 10 weeks and most people see improvement or have it gone by 14 weeks.
I had my 12 week appointment yesterday. It took a bit to find the heartbeat but we got it. It's such a relief to hear that sound. I got blood drawn for the Maternity 21 test and hopefully will get those results sooner rather than later. They said it could talk up to a month.
These weeks go by so slowly! I already feel like I've been pregnant forever. And I look like I'm 5-6 months pregnant too. May seems so far away!

Are any of you ladies rocking a bump yet?? I noticed the April moms have a bump thread going already, and I though that if enough of us were interested we could start our May bump thread!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@csross217: um, yes. I feel rather large already at 12 weeks. I guess that's what 3 babies in 4 years does to you!

@Mamasig: You look fantastic as do all the other mamas who posted in the bump thread. I love seeing the bumps! I will post once my superstition settles a bit and I can take a pic.
We've been a little quiet, hope everyone is doing well and is either out of the morning sickness misery or can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm 15 weeks today and generally have been feeling better overall, but still have bouts of nausea & exhaustion.
I'm going to buy the Snoogle today after school as sleeping is becoming really uncomfortable! I had one with DD pregnancy and now I'm kicking myself for giving it away - it was so wonderful! Other than that, we told DD on Friday and she's over the moon with excitement about being a big sister. I'm afraid it going to feel like a long 6 months for her until May!
Also, I booked our doula. She seems wonderful and I hope she'll be the support I need to have a vbac.

@Autumnmama79: We told my daughter this week too! She's only 26 months so I'm not sure how much she understands. She keeps carrying her baby dolls around saying "Don't cry baby, I take care of you." The cutest.
My nausea is pretty much gone. Exhaustion comes and goes. My next appointment isn't for two weeks, which feels FOREVER far away. I'm ready to start feeling some baby kicks!

Morning sickness still here but slightly better. I feel more tired lately. I'm just looking forward to 2nd trimester. I keep telling myself the 2nd trimester was better! @My Only Sunshine: I also can't wait to feel the baby. It's the best part of being pregnant. I'm trying to soak it all in since this will be my last. But in lots of ways, I want it to hurry up! Im ready to find out if it's a boy or girl
clementine / 849 posts
@Autumnmama79: I'm exactly with you on the nausea and vomiting slooowly getting better (I'm almost 15 weeks). So fun that your DD can join in on the excitement!!
This is crazy to me, but at my appointment yesterday my OB asked me if I felt anything down there. I said, yes but I thought I was just going nuts or it was gas because it's so early. I described them (little flutters below the belly button), and she thinks it's the baby! I have a smaller frame so she thought I might be feeling that kiddo already. Insane!
ETA: I hope that didn't sound boastful, I am just kind of shocked that it's possible to feel anything this early. I've only felt it every few days, mostly I feel like there's just a water balloon in my abdomen and if i reach for the highest shelf and my belly hits the counter, it will pop

13 weeks and feeling better overall but the acid reflux/ heartburn is KILLING ME! I'm short (5'2) with a small frame which made the baby bump pop out early and is probably squishing my stomach and esophagus I burp every 10 minutes from right after lunch and until I fall asleep and I wake up a couple of times a night to burp and it's driving me INSANE in addition to having to deal with the acid and GERD. Other than that feeling pretty good, focusing on the good and enjoying being pregnant
On the positive side, I'm pretty sure I've felt the baby twice while I was lying down in bed. It felt like eyelid twitches low in my belly. Looking fwd to feeling more movement and having DH feel it too
clementine / 849 posts
@ModernDayJibarita: omg yes. both on how bad the heartburn sucks and that those twitches sound familiar! Always at night when in bed.

@YogiRunner: @ModernDayJibarita: Yay for feeling the baby!! Best part of pregnancy. So crazy I've been feeling baby since 11 weeks
@ModernDayJibarita: Sorry about all the digestion issues. I've had a bit of it and it really sucks. Hope it gets better for you and not worse!

I had my NT scan 2 days ago, and everything looks good! Was great to be able to see Bub, and we announced last night. Feels so much more real now!
The endless vomiting has stopped, I feel nausea every few days but that I can deal with. Feeling ok at the moment, which is good because we Te packing to move in just under two weeks time.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@ModernDayJibarita: @YogiRunner: I had the most awful indigestion/heartburn issues with DS1. I literally burped all day every day from about 6 weeks on. It did get slightly better beginning in my 2nd trimester but it was definitely still there. I tried everything and nothing made it go away. Water gave me awful heartburn. It was one of the worst feelings. When I became pregnant with DS2, my coworker figured it out by 6 weeks because she heard me burping! I was so embarrassed! Well, this time I have it again though not as bad. I feel for you!
I "think" I've felt the baby a few times. A quick little flutter low down. But I can't be positive - I'm only 12 weeks. I didn't feel DS1 til like 20 weeks and DS2 around 16 weeks. I had anterior placentas both times.
apricot / 343 posts
@Mamasig: I think I have felt the tart of flutters! Not everyday, but occasionally at random. I felt DS and DD quite early so it will be nice to have that soon yay!

Playing catch up...
@csross217: Not much of a bump yet, but there's a tiny something there! Definitely getting hard to comfortably button my pants these days...
@autumnmama79: So exciting about the doula!
@YogiRunner: @ModernDayJibarita: @Mamasig: Hoping everything clears up for you ladies soon. Definitely still battling the nausea though I'd like to imagine it's getting a *little* better.
@iheartleopardprint: @ModernDayJibarita: Love the baby flutters! Looking forward to them.

Revisiting an old question...who have you told so far?
I'm telling work tomorrow and I'm a little nervous! Not only is my supervisor a little intimidating, it also just seems so REAL once it's out there! I feel like I'm still wrapping my head around it all...
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@atoz: we haven't told anyone, but I feel like people are guessing! I have my NT scan on Thursday and I'm planning to tell work on Tuesday (because that's the next day my boss is in the office). We're telling my parents and the in-laws Thursday night and church friends on the weekend! I'll be glad to be able to not worry about whether my bump is out there or not.
apricot / 259 posts
@atoz: I told my immediate manager at 9 weeks because I had told her about my previous MC and I wasn't feeling well. I told my work team at 11 weeks after a good 10w5d scan and we announced on FB at 12 weeks after another scan. My bump has impossible to hide since 9 weeks so I was glad to finally be open about it.
We announced in FB with a life event that had the following 2 photos.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@atoz: I told my family and close friends pretty much right away. I told work at 7 weeks. My bump was starting to get noticeable so I went ahead and shared. I haven't done a Facebook announcement but as I talk to friends I tell them. @ModernDayJibarita: such a cute picture!

15 weeks today here Hard to believe, the weeks are going by so fast for me haha! I'm finally feeling better - I'll get a random day where the nausea hits me but it's much much better than it was. I'm just feeling HUGE already - I can feel my stomach stretching like crazy.
We told friends and family early on and then announced on FB on Halloween, so pretty much everyone knows now. I work at an apt community so not all of my residents know yet, but it's been fun watching people stare at my belly and then not say anything. I've only had two people ask me directly so far if I'm pregnant.

@ModernDayJibarita: I love your FB annoucement! I can definitely relate to the indigestion/gas issues.... I start burping after breakfast every day and it lasts until bedtime! It's pretty gross... at this point, I don't think I'd even know if I was feeling the baby move just because I have so much gas rumbling around in my tummy all day!!
@atoz: I'm 15w2d today, and we've told everyone! Told family and close friends very early on, we did a FB announcement a few weeks ago after my NT scan (I took a picture of 2 big pumpkins and 1 little pumpkin and captioned it "We're adding a little pumpkin to our patch"). I told work a little bit after that. I'm lucky in that I work for a really small company that is very family oriented so my boss was really excited for me! She's going to let me be on a flexible schedule after I come back from maternity leave too.

I have a gender reveal ultrasound Monday and I will be 14w6d. How confident do you guys feel in that and has anyone ever done it??
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@fitfigure87: I've never had one that early. I've always waited until my 20 week anatomy scan. Personally I would be a bit nervous about it being wrong!

@Mamasig: I know! I have another US 4 weeks later but I have about ZERO patience and I can't take it anymore lol
pomegranate / 3983 posts
@atoz: I'm 14 weeks and we just told everyone- well close friends and extended family, not on social media. I felt my first flutters this week and blood work is still going to take another couple weeks, so whatever. I'm trying to find a good time to tell the kids though (maybe this weekend?) because they play really rough and I don't want to be getting kicked anymore!
@csross217: I have a little bump, but have been wearing sweaters so it's not too noticeable…need to take a pic one of these days! That said, one of the teachers at preschool totally called me out, so yeah…
@ModernDayJibarita: love those pictures! You have such a cute bump already!
@fitfigure87: With my boys it was really obvious at 14 weeks. I was lucky that the doctor I was going to then had an u/s machine in his office, so he could just take a peek at any appointment. Now I feel like I have to wait forever in between scans.
Over here not much new. The office called that they didn't take enough blood last time so I had to come in for more! Still need to find a new doctor but it's turning out to be pretty complicated.
By chance, are any of you in NYC?
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@fitfigure87: I wouldn't be super confident in one that early, however if it says boy I'd feel more comfortable with it! It it comes up girl I wouldn't feel at all confident.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
So is pregnancy making anyone else super grumpy? I'm tired of feeling either nauseous or hungry. I hate maternity clothes. They are so ugly. I don't really have to prepare for anything. We have everything we need already (except clothes if it's a girl). I'm just ready for the baby at the end. And I'm only 12 1/2 weeks so I have SO long to go! I thought each pregnancy was supposed to go faster!!!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Mamasig: everyone except me thinks my pregnancy is going super fast. I'm already so uncomfortable at 15 weeks, and I'm only finally not puking multiple times a day. So now I am finally feeling like I can move off the couch, but I didn't exercise for so long that now just a 5-10 minute walk leaves me winded. UGGGHHH. I have SO many complaints!!!!
I had my second midwife appointment today and we heard an awesome little heart beat It was SO loud on the doppler and she was able to find it right away. That eased some anxiety a little
15w3d today!
kiwi / 585 posts
@Mamasig: I'm feeling very angry, nausceous, and fat. I am so angry at everyone all the time for everything they do. No one can win in my world! I did find some cute maternity dresses I'm waiting to come in and I ordered a pair of jeans and work pants. Once I can finally stop wearing too tight clothes and pj pants I'll prob feel better.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@sslm: I do feel a little better when I hear that awesome little heartbeat! I think part of me is kind of dreading the rest of the pregnancy. Sure, you get to feel the baby more, but the physical discomfort gets worse and I'll probably have GD again. I don't look forward to the diet restrictions and just general stress and annoyance about having it. Plus, I feel so frumpy. Yes, it's vain, but I don't feel like a cute pregnant lady. Not trying to rain on the parade for the first time moms - I promise! I'm just over it already. Give me my sweet baby!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@TrailRunner: I feel you. I went to look at maternity clothes at lunch and the sales lady totally got on my nerves! I tried on jeans and could barely get them off. How am I supposed to be able to get them off in the 3rd trimester if I barely could now?!
cherry / 240 posts
@fitfigure87: My brother and sister in law just had the worst experience with early ultrasounds and gender. She had her first one at about 16 weeks and was told one gender but that it wasn't guaranteed that early and would be confirmed 2 weeks later at her follow up. She went back at 18 weeks and was told the opposite gender and that they were still only about 75% sure!!! She just went back this week at 21 weeks for a final answer. But that would have pissed me off and stressed me out so much that as much as I want to know, I'd rather wait for 20 weeks and be sure.

I'm done with morning sickness/nausea and feeling good at almost 15 weeks. I've been in maternity jeans for about a month already (woohoo baby#2 and popping earlier). Had my NT scan last week so waiting for results on that but I saw the measurement on the screen and know its in the normal range so not too concerned.
@Mamasig: I had an anterior placenta with DD and didn't feel movement until about 19 weeks so while I know I don't have that this time I'm still having a hard time believing I'm feeling baby moving already. But its getting hard to deny now.
pear / 1703 posts
@Mamasig: @TrailRunner: You both took the words right out of my mouth. I'm feeling so down about my plump appearance and lack of proper fitting clothes these days that I'm starting to dread leaving the house. I haven't bought any maternity clothes because A. I've been so sick and exhausted that by the time I'm done work and taking care of my family I don't have an ounce of will or energy left to go shopping. B. I don't really want to buy maternity clothes until I've really popped. C. Trying on any clothes right now makes me feel gross and fat and disgusting.
All of this means I'm generally grumpy and unhappy. I'm normally quite small and its hard gaining so much weight so quickly. I really want to be happy and glowing and loving this pregnancy but between the weight woes and exhaustion and worrying about the health of baby, I'm just not there yet.

Had my NT scan today and everything looks good! Strong heartbeat, NT measurement well within range. Measuring smaller than what I would based on LMP, but only a few days and I have irregular cycles, so it's all good! Updated due date is May 30. Told our parents tonight!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@Autumnmama79: at least we can wallow together! I have a hard time with work clothes. I don't want to spend a fortune and I just don't feel like me in the work maternity clothes. I also have a coworker who is about 8 weeks ahead of me and she is still in normal clothes and it's her second child! She is itty bitty and I feel huge. But tonight I cuddled with DS1 as he gave me big hugs and I remembered the wonderful gift at the end of all this.
@tinyperson: great news!

@tinyperson: Yay! What a wonderful scan and hooray for telling your parents
@Mamasig: We certainly can! and thanks for the reminder about our reward at the end of all this. Patience, patience, patience. I'm thinking maybe this weekend I'll get out out and buy a couple clothing items that will make me feel a bit better.
TGIF May mamas!!

@Baby Boy Mom: Not in NYC but I often wish I was!! Sucks you need go back for more bloods... Enjoy telling the kids this weekend, we told our DD last weekend and she was thrilled!

@tinyperson: yay for a good appointment!!
@Mamasig: @Autumnmama79: I got maternity clothes in the mail today, and they all fit nicely except one pair of jeans that is too big. I actually have what I think is a real legit bump now (feels hard and doesn't go away overnight like my bloat did). But 15 weeks seems too early, so I'm unsure. It really brightened up my day tho to know that I won't be uncomfortable and feel like shit in my work clothes anymore. I hope you ladies get more comfortable soon. The second trimester unicorns and rainbows should hit us at some point...
