@tinyperson: Yes I'm for sure showing at 16 weeks, but even more noticeable is that my entire wardrobe has changed. I used to wear things that were very tailored to my formerly tiny body. I've gained weight all over and now its all leggings and loosey-goosey sweaters and jackets. I love that I'm having a baby but I am missing a good 95% of my wardrobe!
Congrats on telling work

@Autumnmama79: I can never keep it a secret that long! I miss my old clothes too. Yesterday I told my coworker that I couldn't wait to be skinny again and wear cute clothes. After kids, I'm not really that skinny anymore but pregnancy makes me feel huge!

Hey ladies! Had another appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat on the doppler. Love hearing that sweet baby heartbeat!
My ultrasound is 12/28. That's the earliest they'll do it because they want me to be 20 weeks. I'm thinking about going to one of those elective places to find out the gender before Christmas so we can tell everyone when we're all together. Is that crazy?
Also, anyone find cute maternity clothes for holiday parties?
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@My Only Sunshine: It sucks to wait that long!! I can't have mine until 20 weeks either, but luckily for me that's before Christmas. I would consider a private one but DH probably wouldn't want to spend the $!

@My Only Sunshine: I opted to pay more for genetic testing secretly bc I just wanted to find out the gender quickly.
Does anyone else have the WORST heartburn ever? Last night my heartburn was so bad I threw up in my sleep and (TMI) I closed my mouth and it came up my nose. The burning feeling will not go away!

@My Only Sunshine: It sucks waiting! My OB also does the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, not sooner. With my two boys, I waited until then. But this time I got the materni 21 test at 12 weeks, partially just to find out the sex! I am way too impatient this time. I would totally pay for an elective ultrasound. The imaging center at my woman's hospital will do it for $50. I all had a friend who got it done at an ultrasound school for almost nothing.

@My Only Sunshine: Yay for a good heartbeat and happy appointment!! If I really wanted to know I think I'd pay....
@sslm: Mine is before Christmas too! So excited.
@TrailRunner: I did have a bit of heartburn in the first tri and I remember it from LO1, its terrible!! Is there anything you can take?
I had my 4 week check up yesterday and all went well. Belly is measuring where it should be, heartbeat nice and strong at 150. Music to my ears Buuuuuut dr asked if she could do a pap since its been a year since my last and I had to politely decline. After having two losses I just can't bear to risk seeing any blood down there! She seemed to understand, thankfully. I just can't imagine anyone wanting to have a pap done while pg?!
Anatomy scan booked for December 18th woot woot!!

@TrailRunner: are you taking any heartburn medicine? I took Zantac a lot with my 1st pregnancy. It's a very miserable feeling.
I thought my morning sickness was getting better. But I didn't take any meds in 24 hours and it came back full force last night. Overall I do think it's getting better. I just wish it was totally gone.

@My Only Sunshine: Ooh as far as things to wear for holiday parties, I have a my eye on a velvet dress from aritzia. Its fitted and will show the bump nicely and most importantly I think the velvet will be comfy and cozy. Will go try it on this weekend.

@TrailRunner: Oh no, that sounds terrible! I've been having bad heartburn in the evenings, right when I lay down in bed. I'll think it's fine, and then the minute my head hits the pillow I have to hop back up and take some tums!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@Autumnmama79: You bleed with Pap smears? I never have. After kids, it pretty much feels like nothing to me. Though I do think, my OB just waits to do it after you have the baby.
I can't believe we are getting so close to anatomy scans. My favorite!

@My Only Sunshine: Oh and to me there is no such thing as cute maternity clothes! I hate maternity clothes. I just resign myself to the fact I have to dress somewhat ugly.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@Mamasig: @Autumnmama79: I had my pap done at my first OB appointment (11 weeks). It was fine - He said I might bleed for a couple of days, but I only bled a teeny bit for that evening, then it was done.
pear / 1703 posts
@Mamasig: Only once and it was the tiniest bit, but I just have an extreme aversion to blood now following the losses. Also, I had a c-section with Lo1 so I definitely still feel the pain and discomfort of a pap.
kiwi / 585 posts
@Autumnmama79: @csross217: @Mamasig: I've only ever had the occasional bout of heartburn in my life, so I don't have anything to take. I guess I'll make a trip to the store after work and grab some tums? All these new symptoms keep catching me off guard!
@Autumnmama79: oh man I couldn't imagine having a pap done pregnant. I luckily had mine during my annual during my TWW and had no clue I was pregnant. I'm glad you got out of it!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@Autumnmama79: I've had two sections, but I always joke that DS1 was so big he stretched out my insides a lot.
@TrailRunner: Tums work well for me now. But when the heartburn was really bad, I needed something stronger and more preventative.
apricot / 259 posts
@TrailRunner: ME! I've been having heartburn/acid reflux every day all day (but worse at night) for 3 weeks now.
I started taking Zantac 75 2x a day + Tums after dinner. After 2 weeks it still wasn't making me feel better so Dr. recommended I move to Pepcid AC + Tums for a couple of weeks. If that still doesn't help we'll move to a prescription strength med.
kiwi / 585 posts
@ModernDayJibarita: thanks for the info! I'll try that and see if it helps. Sorry you are dealing with this!
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@TrailRunner: I also take zantac at night and it's been helping, but mine isn't awful, but definitely contributes to morning sickness.

I'm 13.5 weeks, and I've been so wiped in the afternoons! As in, I need to put my head down on my desk, I can't concentrate on anything I'm doing, and have completely lost the ability to focus and work. I thought this would have subsided by now!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@tinyperson: I never noticed it with other pregnancies, but focusing at work is so hard right now. My brain just can't settle and focus!
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@Mamasig: It was so bad yesterday that I couldn't even string enough thoughts along to create a to-do list! I felt pretty useless...

Can I vent for a minute? I know its a special day for a lot of you, sorry to be a downer.
I'm so sick and tired of going to work everyday. I normally love my job as a teacher but I'm TIRED. Its hard to be on my feet all day and the 40 minute commute each way is becoming too much. I'm finding it hard to be here all day when I'm worrying about the baby bc I haven't felt it move all day or whatever. Its stressful and I just want to be at home Plus I haven't told anyone at work yet because I've had two losses in the past year and I just don't feel like sharing!! But I'm pretty sure everyone has figured it out as I'm getting all these knowing glances at my belly. I wish DH made tons of money so I didn't have to work while pregnant but I know we've chosen to live in such a ridiculously expensive city that I need to work. I would take more sick days to give myself a break but I only have 22 left and I'm trying to save them so I can start my leave a month before the due date. On top of this, 6 year old DD's sassy attitude is starting to really get to me and DH is preoccupied with work stress and I just want to pull my hair out!!
Gah.
kiwi / 585 posts
@Autumnmama79: I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. I am also so freaking sick of work and TIRED! I also, like you, am trying not to use any leave to save up for maternity leave. I would tell you to take a hot bath with a glass of wine tonight but we can't even do that! I hope things get better for you!
pear / 1703 posts
@TrailRunner: Thanks. I'm thinking about mentioning it to my OB at next appt but I worry she'll be like, 'but you're only 21 weeks, you want to be off work already?!' I'm not sure what I want, maybe just a reduced work week or something. I don't want to be so miserable and resentful about work all the time!
It is hard to find ways to de-stress when pregnant!!

I had an appointment with my midwife today! All went well, my due date has been bumped up to the 19/05/2016 which is what was on my 12 week scan. This matches up perfectly with Ovulation, as I know I Ovulate two days or so earlier than the standard 28 day cycle.
I had a weight check too, I am about a pound under my pre pregnancy weight at 15 weeks. Which makes sense, as I have hardly eaten and was really sick! This pregnancy is flying, I can't believe it. Baby #3 will be here before I know it!

@Mamasig: http://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/ got cute maternity clothes! I ordered twice from them.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@ohemgee: I checked out their website, but haven't ordered anything. I think I'm extra picky when pregnant. I can't stand tight things and I grow everywhere, not just my belly, so I find I'm in between sizes a lot. And I'm short so I find it hard to find pants anyway. Plus it depresses me to try on tons of clothes and nothing fits right. I found summer maternity clothes to be so much easier!
Well, nausea was getting better but threw up again tonight. To make things worse, my bladder is so much weaker the third time! So I throw up or sneeze and boom - I pee on myself. Ugh
cherry / 130 posts
@Mamasig: oh ok. I'm picky on clothes too. I returned several stuff already. My husband goes again?!? haha
ASOS maternity is another great place to look. Loft maternity got petite sizes if you want to check there for pants. 50% now and free shipping - cyber50 until tomorrow I think.
Ugh, I totally know what you mean about the bladder! It happened twice so far when I sneezed. Good thing I was at home. Gotta do those kegels. LOL

Has anyone bought any maternity clothes from H&M? I usually stick to Old Navy and Target but I'm looking for some new stuff!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@littlecasita1122: I haven't. I've bought at old navy, target, destination maternity, gap, and loft. Old navy is probably my favorite - price, size, and quality. Loft is nice quality and price isn't too bad on sale (mainly work clothes). but I'm not thrilled with the sizing. I do not see now their shirts will last me though my 3rd trimester - they run small to me.
kiwi / 554 posts
I haven't bought much yet, but I really like the shirts and jeans from Gap. I've bought a few things at Old Navy, but it's been hit or miss. I ordered a really cute sweater, but it turned out to be huge! I'm keeping it and hoping it'll fit in my third tri, but I'm worried about how low the neckline is. I have a few pairs of work pants from Destination Maternity that I like so far too.

I stopped getting emails when people post. I have a lot of catching up to do! I tried to scan for any updates for the list... sorry if I missed anyone.

@HazelEyes: Thanks for doing the update How are things going with you?
clementine / 811 posts
@Autumnmama79: No problem! I don't have much to update, I guess. We did a reveal to my family at Thanksgiving with cakepops, which was cute. A little weird bc my parents decided not to tell them I was pregnant ahead of time, so it was like, "hey, I"m pregnant!" and then two hours later, "Hey, its a girl!" haha, but it was fun.
Sorry to hear about work. I"m at a school too, but as a school counselor I don't have to run around as much as you. Well, from meeting to meeting, but not on my feet as much. So you're going to take off a month before you give birth? Wow, I can't believe you will be able to take all that time!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
So has anyone starting buying baby items or doing the nursery? I'm itching to buy girl clothes, but have only bought one thing so far. As far as gear, I have everything except I want to get a new bath seat. Ugh, I'm just ready for baby girl to get here. But there is so much time left! I'm so impatient.

@Mamasig: I bought a bassinet since we borrowed one last time and can't again! Other than that I haven't bought anything. Waiting to find out if it's a he or a she in there!!!

@Mamasig: I've probably bought way too much girl clothes and shoes already.
