    @My Only Sunshine: Congrats on the boy!!

    I was sitting at work today on my laptop when all the sudden I had this weird tickling sensation in my abdomen...almost like there was a tiny little fish swimming around. Not sure if it was baby or the many twitches and twinges of pregnancy! Only 17 weeks...anyone else experienced this?

    @atoz: Sounds like baby to me!! Eek, the best part of pregnancy aside from the whole baby at the end thing of course....

    @atoz: That sounds like the baby! The past few days I've been getting a slight tickling sensation on the inside of my lower stomach. I think it's the baby. I just can't wait for it to get stronger.

    So is anyone else really uncomfortable already? I swear I feel so achy, my knee from the extra weight, and I can't sleep at night. I wake up so many times from my legs being so uncomfortable. Not cramps, which also suck, but just restless. And the swelling has started! I could barely zip up my boots the other night because my calves were swollen! But I'm just trying to enjoy these moments of my last pregnancy!

    @Mamasig: Sorry you're getting the aches. Everyday seems to be different for me, some achey and uncomfortable, others not so much. I am starting to have hard time putting on my socks and shoes though I've been wearing my uggs an embarrassing amount of time lately.

    @atoz: Sounds like baby!

    I had my 20 week scan yesterday afternoon. Where I live the techs really won't tell you anything, so you have to wait to see your doctor/midwife. My appointment isn't until Friday!!!! But I didn't get the impression there was anything concerning, or they would've brought in a hospital doctor to discuss. I'm still such a worrier.

    Anyway, I did call my midwife's office and they already have the report and agreed to write the gender down and seal it up so I CAN FIND OUT TODAY!!!!!

    I'd like to go on record that I am pretty sure I saw girl parts (3 lines)... Can't wait to open up the envelope after work today with DH!

    @My Only Sunshine: congrats on the boy!! Doesn't seem like there are many of us!

    @Autumnmama79: good luck at your anatomy scan!! Mine is in a few hours. Eek!!

    @Mamasig: my back occasionally hurts, but the only time I experienced real achiness where I couldn't get comfortable in any position was over the weekend and it turned out I had a stomach virus. I'm sure since this is your third that the aches are coming on early for you! My body is def feeling the effects of the rapid weight gain tho. Oh well! I hope you start to get some relief!

    @sslm: Ahhh! How exciting!!! I can't wait to hear!!

    @Mamasig: I don't even drink when not pregnant, so I'm not craving it, but I've always loved a little Baileys on ice cream or in my coffee once or twice a year

    Anatomy scan was great! Measuring exactly to the date with a strong heartbeat. He would not stop moving!! She kept showing us what things were, but honestly I could only make out the head and one arm. Everything else looks alien to me! I hope everyone else is doing great!

    @autumnmama79: Have fun at your anatomy scan! Mine was yesterday and of course she didn't really say much regarding the scan bc my dr will go over it. She didn't seem concerned though so I felt a little relief. Baby boy would not show us his face

    I have a question for all of you...Did anyone try the Shettles method for gender selection? I was hoping for a girl since we did the deed on a sunday night and I ovulated on a Wednesday morning! Just curious if anyone tried that method and got what the were expecting? Thanks!

  21. Autumnmama79

    @sslm: Congrats on your BOY!!!

    @My Only Sunshine: I think boys names are much harder too

    @TrailRunner: Yay for a great scan! Sounds like you've got an active little one

    @fitfigure87: Congrats on your 20 week scan Little shy guy. We did try the shettles for our first 2 tries this year but they were both MC, for this third try, we just said "eff it, we're going to BD all the time"

  22. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @fitfigure87: I think we inadvertently did the Shettles method this time and we're having a girl. I don't temp or chart or know when I ovulate or anything like that. With our 1st, I said lets BD every other day around the middle of my cycle. That worked and we had a boy. With the 2nd, I think it just worked out that it happened the day of or before I must have ovulated (based on my due date and dating ultrasound). With this one, I think we BD maybe 3 days before I ovulated. Again this is based on my due date and dating ultrasound. So I guess the shettles method did work? My husband works a shift schedule and we have two kids. We just tried to get it in when we could - lol.

    Wow, I feel like I've missed a lot!! Sorry I've been MIA for the last week or so... DH and I just got back from our babymoon in Mexico!

    I had my 20 week scan yesterday, and found out we're having a GIRL!!!! It was actually a big surprise because I'd had a gut feeling that it was a boy all along, but we're so happy!

    Also, I've been feeling baby moving like crazy for the last 2 weeks or so, but she started kicking and flipping on the plane and DH was able to feel it for the first time

  26. csross217

    kiwi / 554 posts

    @Mamasig: I've definitely been feeling more uncomfortable lately too. It takes more effort to move around and things like bending over are getting much more difficult. I just count myself lucky because things have gone so smoothly for me so far - I feel like I can't complain!

    @sslm: Yay, congrats!!!!

    @TrailRunner: Glad to hear your scan went well!

    @csross217: Congrats on your girl! You can already feel her from the outside? That's so exciting. I was trying to remember when my husband was finally able to feel my daughter, and I don't think it was until like 25 or 26 weeks. But maybe this time will be sooner? I've definitely felt this little guy moving around on the inside earlier than I felt my daughter.

    I'm so not caught up, but congratulations on all these 20 week scans! I had mine last week and all went well, but we're TG so didn't find anything out about that As much as I love surprises, I always sabotage myself by trying to figure it out - my brain goes on overdrive and I can't help it! So I can't stop analyzing a few of the images in my mind to know if it's a or a ... but honestly half the time I don't know what I was looking at, so who knows

    @csross217: YAY for babymoons, and feeling your little GIRL! Movement has increased big time for me, and every once in awhile I think I can feel it on the outside but I'm not sure. Does it kind of feel like a bubble popping? I wonder if I'm just putting my husband's hand over gas bubbles and not a baby

  29. csross217

    kiwi / 554 posts

    @My Only Sunshine: @YogiRunner: I can definitely feel movement outside my belly! It feels like little nudges on my hand, and sometimes I can feel a sweeping like movement across my tummy. I was able to see the movement on the ultrasound at the same time I could feel it on my belly, so I know that's what it is! She's most active after I eat, and apparently on airplanes The tech said I had a posterior placenta and I'm on the slimmer side so that's probably why I can feel it so early.

    DH felt a couple good kicks/nudges, but now every time little girl starts moving and I tell him to put his hand on my tummy she settles right down! He thinks I'm crazy lol

    @csross217: Aww how awesome. I have a little frame but was told I have an anterior placenta... but I definitely am feeling lots of wiggles. It happens after I eat when I'm sitting down and when I'm in work meetings, ha! Just maybe will take awhile for DH to feel anything big.

  31. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @YogiRunner: @csross217: I'm jealous of all the movement. Every so often I think I feel her but it's quick. I had anterior placentas with both boys and I think I do this time too. I just can't wait for all the baby movement!

    @YogiRunner: I have a small frame and anterior placenta too! I never paid any attention to this stuff with my previous pregnancies but for some reason I am all about it with this one! Are you nervous about having the anterior placenta? I am afraid I will have to have a c-section because of it or that my bump is gonna be bigger bc my placenta isn't behind baby

  40. My Only Sunshine

    persimmon / 1129 posts

    @fitfigure87: My placenta is partially anterior. From what I understand, an anterior placenta doesn't affect your risk of a c-section. I think it's just placenta previa that requires a c-section. I do think anterior placenta makes it more likely the baby will be "sunny side up" which can increase back labor though.

    How's everyone feeling? I've been done with morning sickness for the last couple weeks. Such a relief. And I've been feeling tons of movement, which is so reassuring! I can't feel him from the outside yet though.
