@sharpie: Congrats!!! I'm so excited to see a baby on this thread! Hope recovery goes well!

So ladies... I'm 1.5 cm and 70% effaced at my 36 week appointment. My OB was like, "it's good, means I'm sure you won't go past your due date", but am I having this baby soon!? Baby is also measuring 4 wks behind according to the fundal height, so about to go into an ultrasound. Interesting appointment this morning!

@YogiRunner: Let us know how the u/s goes. With my first we ended up noticing decreased growth at 36 wks, at 37 weeks officially diagnosing mild IUGR and 38 wks had the baby!

@Baby Boy Mom: Will do! This happened about a month ago, baby measured 3 weeks behind in fundal height, but after the ultrasound came back in the 43rd percentile. So I'm not TOO worried...
But I just got home and had some bleeding (light, but it's bright red). Of course I'm hoping it's just from the pelvic exam (it wasn't comfortable), but could it be my bloody show? Sorry for the TMI but there is no mucus, just some blood. What a day.

@YogiRunner: eek! It sounds like you might be having a baby sooner than your due date! I had some bleeding around 25 weeks or so, and it ended up stopping. It was mysterious bleeding but they said it was prob just my cervix irritated. Hopefully yours is the same!

@TrailRunner: Any bleeding just freaks me out! Haven't had any this pregnancy so far, and especially after hearing my cervix is already thinned out and dilated, I had a mini freak out moment. Just got off the phone with the nurse, she said to call back if it gets worse, but if it goes away it was just from the pelvic exam. Either way, I am packing my hospital bag TONIGHT

I was creeping the board. I was a part of it for the first few pages and just wanted to wish all you ladies love and luck! Can't believe one of the May babes has come already!

@delight: how are you doing? I've been following along with your updates...is your current pregnancy ok or are you still in limbo?

@TrailRunner: it's going well this time! Had a scare at 7 weeks with an empty sac but then at 9 weeks there was baby! I'm measuring on track and feeling lousy so I'm assuming it's going well. My NT is on the 22nd! Best wishes to you!

@sharpie: oh my goodness..so precious!!
I'll be going in for an induction at 37.5 weeks on Thursday. My bp has been high all pregnancy but the last few dr's visits they've been 160/90. No protein in urine though and no swelling, so dr is not concerned about preeclampsia but says the baby will be safer coming at this point. I had to be induced with DS too so I'm not too nervous since I already know what to expect. But ahh even though I'm excited to meet this LO and for Ds to have a sibling, I'm not emotionally ready that DS is no longer my only child.

@delight: glad to hear things are going well for you and your NT will be here before you know it. All the best!
@sslm: the tech didn't really say anything at the ultrasound so I'm not sure... Guess I have to wait till Monday to hear. But not too worried about the size. Last time the fundal height was off by 3 weeks but baby was in 43rd percentile.
@iluvboba637: wow! Lots of luck to you!
So I'm still spotting today but it's brown. I'm going to assume it was the pelvic exam. I wonder if being dilated and effaced makes you more sensitive to bleeding? I don't want to google and stress myself out!
Also just spent a million dollars at Target on some last minute stuff (diapers, nursing bras, overnight pads) and have been having some contractions but they're super mild (yet stronger than the BH I'm used to). Hoping this baby stays put two more weeks... I have to wrap up so much at work and meet my new boss!

@YogiRunner: thanks so much and all the best to you!! With DD I spotted from week 35-40. After pelvic exams and membrane sweeps I bled quite heavily!

@sslm: @YogiRunner: thanks. wishing you girls quick and easy deliveries....not too far around the corner.
@YogiRunner: ive heard its quite common for pelvic exams to cause spotting and brown is usually ok. i was so sore, crampy, and uncomfortable from the cervical check yesterday. and it was such a bummer to hear "this baby's probably not coming on her own anytime soon...so let's go look at the calendar and pick a date."

@iluvboba637: ahh exciting!! It looks like we need to start a labor thread!!
@YogiRunner: I hope the bleeding stops soon. That can be so frustrating. I have been saying no to the cervical checks the last couple of appointments (been weekly for a while now for BP), but I am having one next week and I feel like I don't want to know! I have this gut feeling I won't be making it too much longer and I really need him to wait three more weeks so my leave works out with our daycare start date!
cherry / 215 posts
@TrailRunner: I will be having my first cervical check at 37 weeks this Thursday, and I have the opposite hope! I want to be wide open and ready to go! In fact, on Tuesday when I officially hit 37 weeks (on my birthday, I might add ) I would love to just hop right into labor! I want to meet her so badly! (And be able to put on my shoes again
) I hear you on how complicated leave can get, though, especially with another LO. The longer I wait, I will get a few more hours of PTO accumulated, but it will really not make any difference on how long my leave will be.
Speaking of leave, I am planning on taking 6 weeks fully off, then going back to 30 hours per week for the next 6 weeks, then going back full time. Anyone else worried that they will not have enough time to get back into the swing of things before heading back to work? Especially with breast feeding and pumping?

@delight: @iluvboba637: @TrailRunner: Thanks so much for the much needed reassurance ladies. The spotting finally subsided last night but the contractions/BH/whatever they are keep coming and going. DH and I talked about how if this baby is coming soon, we're ready and that's awesome. Although I feel like work still has a million loose ends that I'm trying to tie up. I don't think people fully understand that my time with them is limited!
How is everyone else feeling!?
kiwi / 554 posts
@YogiRunner: I'm glad the spotting stopped! I feel you about having tons of loose ends at work. I'm trying so hard to finish up all of my projects, etc. and my boss keeps asking me to work on new things and I have to remind her that I can't take on any new projects right now! I think she's totally in denial that I'll be out soon lol.
Overall still feeling pretty good. BH have definitely picked up a lot in the last week or so and are getting more uncomfortable - I had 3 strong ones in a row the other night and DH kind of freaked out lol. Baby girl dropped too! Less pressure on my lungs but way more on my bladder and pubic bone and I'm definitely waddling now. Had an appointment this morning (I'm 37 weeks today), no cervical check but my dr said she's really low now. Only a few more weeks, eek!!!

My husband has the stomach flu... so that's awesome. Just really hoping DD and I don't catch it!!! So far so good. He went to the doctor today and he said if we haven't caught it by now we're probably ok.... fingers crossed!!
37 weeks today and it's my last week at work! Really looking forward to relaxing a bit next week. It's DD's 3rd birthday on the 21st, my hope is that baby boy will stay in until after that, but not too much longer after haha. I wish you could just know exactly when they were going to arrive!

I'm starting to get some serious lower back cramps (same as my period cramps) and the usual can't do anything bc I'm too big type stuff. Other than that just hanging in there. Wednesday is my last day in the office then I will work from home until I go into labor. Hoping to make it to at least my due date. As a FTM I'm sure I will, but EVERYONE seems to think he will be early. We shall see!

@TrailRunner: I hate that helpless feeling of not being able to do certain things because of the bump... like for example, cutting my toenails is a sweat inducing endeavor! Gross!
kiwi / 585 posts
@sslm: haha and the positions you have to get into to achieve such a task. Then after you get done and feel so accomplished and realize, "I am in a contorted position on the floor with nothing to use to pull myself up." So you roll around on the floor for a few minutes before you finally get the momentum needed to stand up. How many more weeks again? Haha
kiwi / 554 posts
@sslm: @TrailRunner: Trying to reach my feet is the worst! DH is nice enough to help me put on my shoes and socks, but when he's not around I always feel like I'm going to topple forward onto my face.
I did manage to contort myself around and paint my toenails last week! They look awful, but I still felt accomplished

@csross217: hahahah on the shoe thing. I have converted 100% to a single pair of flats that are insanely stretched out to fit my super swollen feet. No more tying shoes, or even bending to put on shoes for me!!
I'm done work on Friday and I have a pedicure appointment on Tuesday, I can't wait!!!

@sharpie: congratulations!!! I can't believe we have a baby already!!
I'm still hanging in here, enjoying mat leave as best I can but there still seems like I have many tasks to do each day. Either dr. Appt, in prep for baby or in relation to our renos.
I feel ya girls on the shoe issue, I've been exclusively wearing flip flops for at least a month lol. Today I'm going for a wax, mani/pedi and to buy something to wear for ME to come home from hospital - I refuse to wear mat clothes!! I'll pack our hospital bag too
I can't believe how close its getting! Babes in arms in a matter of days/weeks

Just catching up on this thread! Sorry I've been away...I'm not the best at staying actively involved I have my 36 week check up Thursday and I better be dilated and effaced! I have ridiculous BH all the time and serious pelvic pressure. Still hitting the gym 5 days a week! I'm just gonna walk him out bc I am so over being pregnant LOL
clementine / 849 posts
I'm giggling at the shoe comments... it's not quite warm enough here to wear flip flops or slip ons, so my sneakers always are tied all the way to the side since i need to swing my foot up awkwardly to finish tying them.
So exciting how close everyone is getting!
@fitfigure87: seriously impressed you're still so active! That's awesome. Even prenatal yoga has been kicking my butt lately!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@YogiRunner: I'm on the east coast of Canada, it's not really warm enough here either but I'm doing it anyway haha. It helps that I mostly just get in and out of the car!
Just had my 37 week appointment, all is good. I'm trying so hard not to think of it this way, but I do feel like the wait is on... hopefully it's only a couple of weeks!
