@sslm: Sorry to hear baby boy might be breech Crossing fingers and toes for you! Did DD get to hear the heartbeat?

@ModernDayJibarita: Holy crap! I can't believe you lost your plug I've been on the lookout for mine too. Glad you got some rest and that head is down nice and low.

@rockinghorse: Yay for 34 weeks! That was me yesterday too. So exciting. I don't have any other tips to get things moving along but I think you're on the right track

@tinyperson: So nice to have a busy baby! Those kicks really are everything at this point And a great attitude towards the whole GD thing - theres really not much time left is there?!

@My Only Sunshine: Yay for 32 weeks and getting closer to your rcs date!! Must be nice to hear your weight gain is on track, I've been refusing weigh-ins since about 16 weeks

@csross217: Sorry about the head cold, thats the last thing a preggo needs. How are you feeling today?

@sharpie: Yikes about the contraptions and bed rest! So scary. Glad to hear you've got a helpful DH and mil around

@Baby Boy Mom: We're also in a bit of a housing/moving pickle as our renos are not yet done and we're still living in a temporary residence. I wanna get home and get organized for baby so bad! I sold all my stuff too so have been buying everything new for this babe. Happy shopping to you!

@YogiRunner: I was fitted for a nursing bra at a store called Change. Its quite pretty with lace. I had the same for DD and they were great. I also bought 2 nursing tanks from Nordstrom that are SO comfy, from their own line. I also bought two new shortie robes (both on sale at Nords!) and lounge pants - I'm all set for round the clock nursing in style! lol

@TrailRunner: Sorry about the high blood pressure. Its hard to cut down and scale back but only a few more weeks to go! Hopefully you're getting lots of rest

@ohemgee: Eek! Constipation is no joke. I was hospitalized for a week with DD due to it. Hopefully things are moving a little more smoothly these days

    Sorry if I missed anyone!

AFM, I've been really enjoying spring break. Especially the time with DD. We've been to a play, the aquarium, spent lots of time with friends and family, visited the art gallery, shopping for baby, walks in the sunshine, lazy mornings at home, baking, plus time to manage all the renos at our place. I'm feeling big and achy and not sleeping well but I know its coming to an end very, very soon!

    34 weeks and counting...

GD confirmed today I'm more upset than I thought I'd be, but it's mainly re all the scheduling and extra appointments and the way they have their diabetes clinic set up and not the diagnosis itself. Boo. On the other hand, my ultrasound was good today - baby looks perfect, 3lbs 8oz (25%)

Doing some catch up here… apologies to those I’ve missed! Glad our board is getting nice and active

@sharpie: First off, that sounds like the opposite of fun, so sorry you’re dealing with it. Just curious, how did they make the decision to put you on bedrest? Did they do cervix checks or run the FFN test? I also had regular contractions that showed up on the NST (couldn’t feel them either), they tried giving me a ton of water/juice which (hours later) finally got them to slow down. That and the negative FFN and closed cervix is what caused them to send me home with instructions to keep drinking liquids, but I’m constantly wondering if I should take it easy in case they keep happening or become productive (EEK).

@csross217: Do you have a cool mist humidifier? I picked one up because our bedroom gets so dry and I was getting stuffy/bloody noses. Figured we could use it for the baby too.

@My Only Sunshine: Sweets, Easter candy in particular, is definitely one of my main food groups lately… to the point if we don’t have cookies, ice cream, Cadbury eggs, etc in the house I get actual anxiety!

@ModernDayJibarita: No way! What did your OB say about when s/he thinks you’ll actually go into labor? I still know nothing about what is a definitive sign and what isn’t. Either way, what a clear reminder about how close we are to that day! I am a nutso and have most of my hospital bag packed. I am a crazy planner and do not feel ready for this babe.

@sslm: thinking lots of good upside-down baby thoughts for you!

@Autumnmama79: that sounds like a blissful way to round out your last tri! Good for you, enjoy every moment

@tinyperson: no fun. I’m sorry. Hope it’s fairly smooth sailing getting through those appointments. Glad to hear baby’s doing well though!

@tinyperson: So sorry to hear about your GD! You must already be doing pretty good at controlling your diet if little one is in the 25th percentile. My mom had GD with me and I was off the charts humongous when I was born!

  6. tinyperson

    pomegranate / 3858 posts

@My Only Sunshine: Well LO1 was 5lbs at birth (I had GD with her and had to go on insulin), and neither DH nor I are very big people I definitely haven't been following a GD-friendly diet.

By the way, I do not feel prepared at ALL to have a newborn right now. I feel like I need ALL the things ready to go and all the books read, whereas DH just texted me telling me he’s “over” pregnancy and is ready for this baby. HAHA

OH and thank you for the nursing top suggestions! Really helpful. One of my “to-do’s” that I’ve been crazy about is figuring out how to best/most easily whip out the boob without walking around naked, but as lot of you mentioned, it’s just one of those things that you figure out when the time comes!

@YogiRunner: She said it'll regenerate itself and it doesn't mean labor is immenent. I'm gomna mentally start preparing as if baby were arriving in 4 weeks in case losing the MP means he'll be early. If he decides to show up late I'll sepmd the last couple of week chillin with nothing left to do.

  9. sharpie

    grape / 84 posts

@YogiRunner: I think because mine came back the next day when I resumed normal activity (all I did was go back to work, and I sit at a desk). And while I couldn't feel them during the NST, I could definitely feel them the next day.

I don't think there's any harm in taking it easy, but if you don't feel like you are having them, you're probably fine? I understand wanting to be cautious about it though. The more time that passes, the stronger mine are (when I get them) Not quite painful yet, but I'm a little worried real labor is imminent. The dr said at this point (34 weeks) they would do nothing in L&D to stop it so to just keep resting/guzzling fluid and not come in unless I think I'm in real labor.

  10. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@YogiRunner: I don't feel prepared either but I keep reminding myself that all a newborn really needs is some blankets, clothes, somewhere to sleep and my boobs!

@ModernDayJibarita: Kinda neat that the plug will regenerate itself. Must have been freaky to lose it so early!

Happy Good Friday! We are off to mums for easter brunch - and we'll also pick up the stroller that she's been storing for us for 2 years!

@YogiRunner: We do have a humidifier which has helped a little bit, but I just always get really bad nasal congestion when I have a cold. I think I'm over the hump though and feeling a little better. Let's hope this is the last time I get sick this winter! It's been miserable.

@ModernDayJibarita: Oh wow, I didn't realize that your MP would regenerate. It's probably a good idea to be prepared early though! I'm starting to go into a bit of nesting/panic mode trying to get things ready... I'm terrified I'll go 2 weeks early and not be prepared!

@Autumnmama79: jealous!!! I want to go for one. Maybe when I start my mat leave in 3 weeks!!!!!

Awake since 4am (again) and wondering how many days I can go without a full nights sleep. It really wipes me out for the next day

Ordered the crib & mattress,, basinette & stand, diaper bag and a new canopy for DD's old bugaboo. May need a few more newborn outfits but I've pretty much checked everything off my list of things to buy for baby.

We got lots of name inquiries over the Easter long wknd but I quickly nip them in the bud telling people 'the names are a surprise!' As DH and I have had such a hard time agreeing on names that I can't deal with outside opinions!

Tomorrow will be the start of what may be my last week of work, so that's exciting. I'll go two more weeks max and then I'm so done.

35 weeks today!!! I just want her to be here already!

@Autumnmama79: Last week of work! That is exciting! I may go down to 30 hours a week (3 ten hour shifts) next week, I am going to talk to my OB at my appointment on Thursday. It has just been really exhausting and my sciatica acts up if I don't watch how many patient carts I am pushing around and how much walking I'm doing. At the same time I like that my job is keeping me moving, maybe helping me go into labor a week or two early!

Anyone think their little one has dropped yet? FTM, so I am only guessing, but sometimes I feel extra pelvic pressure, and her movement has become just a wee bit less strong and constant.

  16. rockinghorse

    cherry / 215 posts

Also, anyone having contractions? I think I may be having some. Hard to describe. A weird feeling in my stomach that I have just started to associate with my belly feeling harder than normal. I sent a message out to my OB, also including how her movements have been less pronounced but there. This whole thing is nerve wracking!

  17. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@rockinghorse: yes to the practice contractions. I was told that as long as you don't have more than 4 an hour, you're fine and they shouldn't lead to labor. It feels like your abdomen is tightening or balling up over a fairly large area. Sometimes it's just the baby balling up and pushing her bum out, I've finally learned to feel the difference!

And I'll totally admit to not really understanding what the baby dropping means... just descending closer into your pelvis? What are the signs? How close is labor after that happens? I'm clueless. My baby's movements have also been less strong and constant, but I do kick counts every night and I do feel 10 movements pretty fast, so I think all is well!

@Autumnmama79: what's waking you up? just the normal preggo insomnia? For me it's heartburn, peeing, and changing positions. Soooo tired these days. Also, getting my last mani/pedi before the baby on Friday! Family is coming to town before the shower so it's also my last opportunity to have a peaceful moment before the weekend. SO looking forward to it!

  18. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@YogiRunner: I'm waking up to change positions for sure, but I think I'm staying up due to stress I just start thinking about stuff and then my brain doesn't stop. We are undergoing major home renovations right now and it's causing a lot of stress as it looks like we won't be back in our house in time for baby. The thought of having to bring baby home from the hospital to our temporary residence makes me kinda sad. Plus the reno itself is stressful dealing with choosing finishes and such when I'm this preggo, it's time and energy consuming. It'll all be wonderful when they're finished just the timing is horrible!!

So exciting for your mani pedi and shower coming up! What colour will you choose for toes?? A lot of people will be looking at your toes in l & d!! I got a super bright coral and then a light grey/lilac for nails. How many people are you expecting at your shower?

  19. My Only Sunshine

    persimmon / 1129 posts

@rockinghorse: I've been having killer Braxton Hicks contractions all of a sudden. The most random things trigger them - having to use the bathroom, drinking something cold, standing up from sitting down, being thirsty. I haven't figured out anything that makes them go away other than drinking a ton of water and laying down.

I had them starting around 33 weeks with my daughter too.

  20. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@rockinghorse: That sounds like Braxton Hicks to me!

So I have to wait until next week to go for an ultrasound to check if baby is breech. I'm going to start casually doing some of the spinning babies stuff now, since the bigger he gets the less likely it is that he will turn!!!

My mom and sister are throwing me a small shower this weekend. I'm looking forward to it

@Autumnmama79: Anything I can find... haha. Mostly the inversions they talk about on spinningbabies.com. Once it's confirmed I guess they recommend acupuncture... and they may discuss an ECV, which at this point I'm not sure I'm comfortable with.

  23. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@sslm: I remember my doula mentioned that swimming and specifically diving down into the water (not from jumping off the ledge but just from standing in the pool) can help get baby into a better position.

  24. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@Autumnmama79: My OB recommended taking a half a Unisom, which I've been doing for the last week or so and it has made ALL the difference in my sleep. If you wake up to pee or roll over and adjust or whatever you're fine, but it really helps me go BACK to sleep after waking.

  25. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@Autumnmama79: I hear you lady. I've been trying to train my brain to not start thinking about my work day coming up each time I go to pee. So I definitely understand something big like a house reno being on the brain!! Just think how wonderful it will be once done and the satisfaction of knowing you designed it. And then let yourself doze off and dream about it (easier said than done I know!)

It's nice to have the mani/pedi to look forward to, I've never been so excited about a quick trip to the salon! Those colors sound perfect for spring and for L+D, I might just copy you. Nothing like fun toe color to show off when your feet are up in everyone's faces!!
We'll have about 16 ladies at the shower, including my 4-year old niece. So it should be super fun, just a little stressful trying to get the house ready and responding to 343098 emails from my sisters about what kind of napkins I want

  26. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@HazelEyes: I might have to bite the bullet and just try it. I like the idea of going back to sleep after! What exactly is unisom do you know?

@YogiRunner: 16 sounds like a perfect number! And those little details can be annoying, so sweet they are trying to make it perfect for you! Showers are so fun I kind of wish I was having one.

@Autumnmama79: I feel you on the insomnia. It's driving me nuts and I know it's just stress from being here "by ourselves", the kids will be on spring break and family wanting to come visit and hanging around my one bedroom.

In happy news, we drove to visit friends out of state last weekend and they gave us a ton of girl clothes, so at least we are set on that front!

What's on everyone's to do list for April?
Right now I have- make room for a baby area (i.e. reorganize our whole apt pretty much)
    Freezer cooking
    Figure out a NAME
    Buy carseat/other baby gear

@Autumnmama79: Its for sleep, but I know a lot of Bees used it for morning sickness(?) I got the melts, which are fairly easy to break in half http://www.amazon.com/Unisom-SleepMelt-Tablets-Cherry-24-Count/dp/B002CVV1JY/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1459338322&sr=8-8&keywords=unisom

@Baby Boy Mom: Omg, its going to be April?

I have a lot to wrap up at work. So that.
We made the switch to the Big Boy Bed last week, so now we are just waiting for dressers to be delivered so we can move over DS's clothes and wash/put away the girl clothes people have leant us (thank goodness for that, right?)
Buy a second camera for our monitor
I didn't even think about freezer cooking, but that's a good idea. I have a feeling we won't be getting as many meals from friends as last time.
Exercise while I can still move
Locate baby carseat/RnP/playmat/swing, and clean them up.

I'm not until the end of May, so I have some time for carseat installation and hospital bag.

I think we've narrowed down two names. I have to stop thinking about it or others keep creeping in....

  29. My Only Sunshine

@Baby Boy Mom: April is our month to get things done too! I'll be 37 weeks at the end of the month, so I really want to have everything done by then so if he comes early, we're all set and if he doesn't come early, we can just relax.

Our to do list is growing day by day:
    - Hang blackout curtains in our room because our current ones let in too much light to nap in there
    - Wash all the baby things
    - Freezer meals
    - Get a new pump from insurance
    - Pack the hospital bag
    - A ton of yard work to make the yard lower maintenance - we're taking out a huge area of plants and flowers and grassing it in so we don't have to be out there weeding in the summer!

@Baby Boy Mom: I can't believe it's basically April already! How did that happen?!?!

We've got quite a bit done so far since I'm due at the beginning of May, but I still feel so unprepared... the big things on my to-do list right now are:
    - Make some freezer meals
    - Finish up buying the little things we need (we have all the big stuff already)
    - Hang blackout curtains in the nursery
    - Clean the car and install car seat
    - Learn to use the stuff we have (electric pump, Moby)
    - Finish washing baby clothes and bottles, pump parts, etc.
    - Write thank-you notes from my shower
    - Pack hospital bag

I can't believe it's almost April. I'm almost kind in denial that I will be 35 weeks in two days. I've had weekly appointments for a while now bc of my BP, and last appointment my doctor walked in and said, "Wow you are really gaining!" And I thought he was talking about my weight so I just sat there jaw on the floor. Then he quickly goes, "weeks I mean...you are getting so close." To hear the doctor tell me I'm getting close freaked me out even more! Im not ready to squeeze a watermelon out of a small hole and then promptly care for it! I'm scared guys. Lol.

@csross217: I found the best way to learn how to use the moby was to take baby into a store that carries them (not BRU). It was so much easier to learn in a hands-on way!!

    To-do for April... hmmm..

    - install car seat (need our new van to be ready to do this!!!!)
    - get sheets for bassinet
    - freezer meals

Surely that can't be it?? Haha. Maybe I'm more on the ball than I thought.

@TrailRunner: I'm so scared too. Omg. I often wonder out loud to DH, that 'I'm just not sure how this baby is going to get out of me...' DD was a c-section so I did have contractions and labour pains but not pushing her out. I've been looking at birth pictures on Instagram and pretty sure that's not helping my fears - but I can't look away

I'm scared of the pain, I'm scared of the drugs, I'm scared of tearing, I'm scared of delivering the placenta, I'm scared of stitches, I could go on and on. But oh man am I excited to hold this little baby in my arms instead of in my belly!!!!!
