@pumuckl: @mij: thanks so much! I have no concept of what's reasonable haha so I really appreciate the advice. I was hoping I'd get some encouragement to go I can let the girls know...I hope they don't mind going on a trip w/ a pregnant lady! Thanks again!

@Gigi2: I'm in the same situation! We had booked a trip to Iceland before my BFP in June. I'll be 10 weeks. It's gonna be an adventurous type trip with hiking and sightseeing. We're even going to sleep in an RV in campsites, no hotels! I'm kind scared now but I'm gonna try to take it easy and take plenty of breaks when I need to. I'll also make sure to take zofran with me just in case.
DH is seeing this trip as the last hurrah before baby comes lol

@pmrlady: Sorry for popping in, but ICELAND?!?!? Lucky! That's amazing! Please share tons of pictures. Where do you live now?

Had my first appt today - was just a urine test and appt to go over questions/concerns. I'll go back next week/the week after for a u/s since I have long cycles.

I'm sure the NP thought I was crazy b/c I asked her if the urine test came up positive I'm trying to stay positive over here but it's hard!

Hope you're all staying positive yourselves

@Gigi2: I'd keep all those trips on the calendar! I'm actually looking to plan a few things before the fall myself.

@pmrlady: Iceland sounds amazing - I've always wanted to go! You're smart to bring zofran. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

@pmrlady: wow, that sounds SO cool!!

@Oliviapope: lol I called my NP back after my first appt with my daughter to ask that too! I was like, "did the blood work come back ok?" and they were like "...yes?" and I said, "...so, pregnant?" and they were like "well we didn't do betas but your urine test was positive" and laughed!! hahah.

@Oliviapope: Also staying positive over here!

@Gigi2: I'd plan on going on the trips. I'd also tell at least 1 person for each trip so they can help cover for you if you're not feeling well. Have fun!!

@pmrlady: Iceland?! That sounds so fun!

We're planning on going on our yearly vacation in September. We'll probably travel across the Atlantic to the US. Hope it all goes well. We'll see...

@mfa_lady: Aww!!! It's ok, I got weepy just from your comment

@Gigi2: If I were you I would totally go. But being me (and a huuuuuuge worry wort), I personally would cancel them unless DH was going. That being said, traveling makes me anxious, so I may be biased. Only you know what's best for you!!!!

How's everyone feeling? The coming and going symptoms are still freaking me out. DH swears this happened last time, but my memory is HORRIBLE. Plus, last time I was in major wedding planning mode (our wedding was 3m after our BFP) Man, I wish I had taken notes or something lol

@ValentineMommy: Not too bad now that I've had lunch. I was a little queasy before that. I am more and more looking forward to that 2nd trimester. I found that the second time around you look even more forward to it because you know what to expect

  13. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@Pumuckl: Absolutely. I am counting down the days until the second trimester!!! I just want to know everything is ok - cause it somehow STILL doesn't feel real!

So fun that you guys have all these trips planned! We are taking a huge road trip in week 13--it's not an option (a big, long-planned family trip with the ILs) so we are going for it. I'm hoping I can keep the pregnancy from them until then so we can announce on the trip. That will give me something to look forward to.

@ValentineMommy: @Pumuckl: This is me to a T today! I am weirded out because I feel a lot better the last couple of days than I had been....week 6 was brutal, and now I've been feeling a lot better since yesterday. I'm counting down until that US....8 DAYS!

  15. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@mfa_lady: Yay for 8 more days! 6 days for me! Yaaaay! I've been feeling fine the past 2-3 days and it's scaring me. Besides being tired...but I'm always tired, so how can I tell anymore???? lol

Hope its ok to join! Got my BFP today and based on LMP, my estimated due date is Jan 26. So excited that I can barely focus on work! I don't know if it psychological or not but I am feeling really nauseous this morning. Also, maybe TMI but I am constantly feeling wet down there. I actually thought that I had gotten AF yesterday on my way home from work. Is this normal? I don't remember this for my first pregnancy.

  17. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@NerdBee: Yay! So glad you're here!!! I can't focus on work at all and I'm 6w3d. Sigh, hopefully it gets better, but prob not! I didn't feel extra wet or anything this time around, but I think I did last time! I've read a lot of women have increased cm early on.

  18. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@ValentineMommy: Yes to the tired! I'm the exact same way--I have an insane week this week--meetings and stuff until 7, 8, 9PM every night...and yesterday I literally went home for lunch and slept. Oops! Haha. But feeling much better other than that. Can't believe you only have 6 days left! YAHOO!

@NerdBee: Welcome, lady!!! And congratulations! And you are not alone--I'm 7w1d today, and actually considered buying liners yesterday just because I'm feeling so leaky. Ha!

  19. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@NerdBee: Welcome, welcome! Not very wet yet. But I know it is a common thing for a lot of ladies.

@mfa_lady: @ValentineMommy: I am so tired right now! I still have another 1.5h to go until EOB... I don't know how I'll stay awake. My other problem is that I get insanely tired during the day but am not as tired at night and then I stay up late...

  20. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Pumuckl: Yes! I am SO TIRED all day and then I sleep like crap. Ugh!

  21. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@mfa_lady: Haha, once I go to bed I actually sleep rather well (I guess having a rambunctious toddler helps). Sadly I hardly ever end up going to bed before 11:30pm… And then when it's a day like today when B decides to get up at 5:20am that ain't too much sleep.

  22. NerdBee

    clementine / 828 posts

@ValentineMommy: @mfa_lady: @Pumuckl: thanks for the warm wecome and reassurance that this leaky feeling is normal. I am still constantly looking at the photo of my bfp to remind myself that it is real.

I have been feeling super tired during the day and sleeping like crap at night too! I keep waking up for no reason, and although I fall back asleep fairly quickly, I don't feel rested when my alarm goes off in the morning. Coffee is making me feel super nauseous so I think I'm going to cut it out. Bleh.

  23. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Pumuckl: Yikes! That is definitely not much sleep. I hope your LO can take pity on you at some point and sleep a little later!

@NerdBee: I'm still looking at the photo of my BFP on the regular, at 7 weeks, if that makes you feel any better. I'm just like you in the night, also--last night I woke up at 2, 3:30, and 5:30. Ugh! No wonder I'm exhausted all day, I guess!!

  24. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@Pumuckl: I have the SAME problem. Tired all day. Get home and can't relax/fall asleep. UGH. I get up at 5am for work, so it's been really rough.

@NerdBee: no problem! I am constantly looking at my BFPs....and I may have taken something like 15. Lol Damn those wondfo's....there were just so many! I cut caffeine out the day I got my BFP and it suuuucks. Get ready for that headache

@NerdBee: So glad you are here!! Now you, travelgirl1, and myself can have playdates!!
I'm totally leakier this time around. It's gross.

  26. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@NerdBee: Confession: For the first week I made regular trips back to bathroom where I kept (or should I say keep) my BFP to look at it just to remind myself that yes infact IT IS REAL!

  27. NerdBee

    clementine / 828 posts

@oliviaoblivia: yes! looking forward playdates when we're all on mat leave again. How fun will that be?

@Pumuckl: LOL. You ladies are all so awesome. I love how you make me feel like the obsessive things that I do are perfectly normal

  29. pmrlady

    apricot / 316 posts

@ValentineMommy: wow 5 am is so early! I'm getting up at 5:30 and feel so tired middle of the day, I have to put my head down and close my eyes for a bit.

@NerdBee: congrats! Is this your second?

  30. NerdBee

    clementine / 828 posts

@pmrlady: thank you! Yes, this is my second but it is different from my first already. I am feeling symptoms so much earlier this time and also symptoms that I didn't have the first time. I am sort of hoping this means that I will have a girl this time but I have read that different symptoms don't necessarily mean different sex for baby

  31. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@pmrlady: Yea, it sucks. I'm at work at my desk by 6am. All so I can get home by 4pm to see DS for a few hours each day.

@NerdBee: How old is your DS? We are also not-so-secretly hoping for a girl this time

  32. NerdBee

    clementine / 828 posts

@ValentineMommy: omg, waking up at 5am every day to get to work? How are you even still awake? Its almost lunch time and I am already feeling sleepy. I fully expect to go into a food coma after lunch, especially with no afternoon coffee.

DS is 25 months. I really want a daughter for myself but I won't be sad to have another son. I think DS would love to have a brother to tear around with We're done after 2 so if this one is not a girl then that's it. How old is your DS?

  33. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

Okay, I spoke too soon on the feeling better the last couple of days. I don't have a car at work today (had to drop DH's off to get inspected) and I just walked to get some lunch. 4 blocks there, 4 blocks back, and I literally feel like death. I wasn't feeling that great anyway, but after walking outside in the warm air I feel so weak and pass-out-y (very technical term).

And now I'm just sitting at my desk trying to force myself to eat this food, because I think a little protein might help.

Man. This pregnant lady stuff is no joke.

  34. Gigi2

    cherry / 132 posts

    @nerdbee: congratulations

@PMRlady: Iceland! That's awesome! I've been wanting to go for a long time - can't wait to hear how your trip goes! Hopefully your DH will counteract all that adventure and hiking with some nice long foot rubs for you

Leaving for trip #1 soon! So sleepy. Will check in with all you ladies when I'm back, but in the meantime keep feeling well!!

@NerdBee: Congrats! And I've been feeling leaky too - seems to be pretty common

@mfa_lady: sorry you're feeling bad today! And I get pass-out-y too, it's totally a technical term

Today and yesterday I've been getting a bit nauseous when my stomach is empty. Thankfully it goes away if I eat something, but I feel like I am constantly eating now!! I'm going to have to find something healthier to munch on than animal cookies!

@NerdBee: Yup....7 years of being up this early and I'm still not used to it. It's very tiring. Lol DS is 15m. I'd really like to have a girl and be done with one of each....but we'll see! I do love my little boy so much, but I'd love to have one of each....especially cause I grew up the younger sister (to an older bro) and loved it!

@mfa_lady: oh no! I hope you feel better!

    @Gigi2: have a great trip!!!!

@charmed: I feel the same way. I'm basically constantly eating to keep nausea at bay.

Aaaaand exhausted again today. Someone said it looked like I was going to pass out. Greeeeeeat

  39. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@ValentineMommy: wow I cannot even imagine having to always get up this early. It was hard enough on the days that I had to travel.

I'm still busy in the kitchen baking muffins for B's garden party at daycare tomorrow. So glad when I can finally crash on the couch.

@charmed: also eating LOTS. I gained half of the overall weight last time in the first trimester (it was 20lbs total). So I know its ok if I gain some.

When did you find out: I pretty much knew from the start, but I found out on May 15th.

How do you feel?: So far so good, but a bit nauseous.

    Child #: 2

What type of birth do you want to have?: Can I just go for it and say an easy one?

When is your first appointment?: I went to the doctors for the first time yesterday and I need to go back next month.

What are you most excited about?: The whole thing. My first pregnancy was pretty turbulent and we were in a bad spot financially, but my daughter changed my life in so many amazing ways.
This time we are in a better spot to have another child. I'm looking forward to everything but especially to introducing my daughter to her little brother or sister.

What are you scared/nervous about?: Postpartum depression. I had it pretty bad last time and don't want to go through it again.

Congrats to all the other Januaries out there.
