Congrats to the new bfps!
We had our 6w ultrasound with the RE yesterday and got lucky - little embryo with a teeny heartbeat. We are moving today (morning sickness while moving ...ugh) so I called to make an appt with a new OB for June 4. I am still nervous about things for sure but every step forward helps.

@bhbee: That's so exciting! Congrats on the move and seeing the heartbeat!!!!

@bhbee: So, so happy to hear this!! Congratulations, mama. So glad you got to see that little babe in there!

@bhbee: Yay!! Great news!
I'm so jealous of those of you that have ultrasounds already. I have to wait another month.

@bhbee: yay!!
@oliviaoblivia: I have to wait too July! Baaaaah.

@oliviaoblivia: it's the one perk of having issues getting/staying pregnant!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@oliviaoblivia: My practice doesn't usually do them until 11-12 weeks....but since that's when I found out about my missed MC last time (which had happened at 6 weeks) there was NO WAY I was waiting that long this time around. I was so adamant when I called that they thought I wanted an US like, the next day....(which wouldn't have even been 4 weeks, LOL). My midwife called me to explain to me that doing the US at 4 weeks wouldn't be a good idea....which, obviously, I knew. Haha. I felt like such a jerk--apparently I was a little more pushy than I realized.
They offered to get me in around 6 weeks....but for peace of mind I wanted to see something DIFFERENT-looking from that first ultrasound last time....so I pushed it back two more weeks. I'll be 8w3d when I go.
ETA: I'm a newbie for stuff like this...at 8 weeks, will that still be a transvaginal US? I'm assuming so.

@ValentineMommy: we are definitely finding out. I worry about gender disappointment, so hopefully finding out early will give me time to process and bond!

Also, (sorry for posting a bazillion times today) my whole office building is getting repainted inside and IT SMELLS. The guys are right outside of my office door right now. Come on, people. Don't you know there's a pregnant lady in here? (Oh wait. You don't. Rats.)

@bhbee: Woohoo!
I haven't scheduled my first appointment yet, but I am hoping they will let me do it June 23rd. That is around the same time I had it scheduled the time before.
Team green has no appeal to me. I love the idea of having that special day when you find the gender and I don't think knowing before takes away from the excitement of the birth or seeing your baby for the first time.
@sorrycharlie: What are you hoping to have?
persimmon / 1177 posts
@ValentineMommy: ooh I'll have to check those out!
@mfa_lady: I was spilling out of one of my sports bras yesterday And eating all the carbs...
@bhbee: so happy to hear your appointment went well, and you to see the embryo and heartbeat!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@mfa_lady: They COULD do an abdominal one (I had one around then), but a transv. would definitely be better. Mine at 7w2d will be transvaginal. That stinks about your office! Ew!
@sorrycharlie: same here. That's exactly how I feel about finding out the gender.
Apparently, I spoke too soon about feeling better this time around. I feel SOOO sick today that I'm going home from work early. If not, I definitely fear I'll be throwing up on my coworkers. Ughhhhh.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Pumuckl: Hah, the almost fainting things happens every so often with me. Slightly concerned!
@mfa_lady: Thanks for sharing! I'm having hummus wraps for lunch, willingly but my brand isn't on the list. Yikes!
@ValentineMommy: I think I want to know the gender since it's our first!
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@mfa_lady: I had an abdominal at 9w last time after a tv at 7w
We are definitely not team green. I respect those that do it but we are not good waiters and I liked knowing last time.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@bhbee: Yay for the good news! So sorry you're queasy on your moving day.
@ValentineMommy: Oh no! Feel better dear! I am quite nauseous and very tired today myself. Week 8 is already kicking my butt.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Radish: I think girl just because that's what I know.. I've nannied girls, I hve a girl, I'm so clueless with boys! I'm so afraid of not bonding.. I know that's so silly but it's a fear of mine. And we have like, 9 bins of 0-24m girls clothes!!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@namaste: My doc said the fainting feeling is normal hormonal fluctuations (at least that's what he said last time). It's an awful feeling though, isn't it? I'm really surprised at how sick I'm feeling because I felt totally fine this morning! I just feel all heartburn-y and like I'm going to throw up (though I know I'm not going to)...if that makes any sense. And I'm only in week 6!
nectarine / 2079 posts
@sorrycharlie: I was just telling my husband if we have a girl we are set clothes wise (same seasons and everything). I keep imagining a boy, but I don't really know that I have a preference this time.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@bhbee: yay, awesome news on the heartbeat!
@sorrycharlie: so you want another girl?
@namaste: sorry to hear about the near fainting. I had to get compression stockings last time in month 4. It got a lot better once I was wearing those.
@ValentineMommy: sorry about the m/s! All the food at the party helped me get through the day. Also that belly just gets bigger at the rate per day which was a week last time. Crazy!!!
@mfa_lady: it was a transvaginal for me until the NT scan at 13w last time.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@charmed: Carbs + boob spillage. We are so glamorous.
@ValentineMommy: Feel better, lady!
@ValentineMommy: @bhbee: @Pumuckl: Thanks for the US info, ladies. I have a little bit of PTSD from my first US last time (was supposed to be 11 weeks, they did an abdominal and automatically were like "Uhh, maybe we could see better with a transv...." because of my MC) so I kind of hope they just go for the transvaginal. I want to see as much of this baby as I can!

Alright, ladies, I'm officially done with my terribly concealed incognito self. Sorry about that, but our parents both know about HB and I didn't want to put anything connected to my user name until we had told them. That would have been baaaaad if they found out via a website.
Praying for ONE perfectly healthy baby here & no NICU time!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@sorrycharlie: If you get a boy and I get a girl, we can just trade our 9 bins of clothes!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Mrs. Blue: So glad you're here, lady! I will be praying for one healthy babe and no NICU for you, too!

@Mrs. Blue: keeping FX that there is only one bubs in there. When will you get to find out?
persimmon / 1096 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Sorry again for not-so-subtly implying I thought it was you! I just noticed a few comments on our spring mamas board that made me wonder, and only because pregnancy AND parenting a little guy are all I'm thinking about these days. You weren't THAT obvious. I'm so happy you're here and that we have our second "batch" of LO's due at the same time again. Your video announcement was so adorable too.

@Radish: Jan. 18-ish.
@mfa_lady: @Pumuckl: Thanks! We should find out at our u/s on 6/9.
@keepcalmcarrie: Ha! No worries! I figured that anyone who interacted with me much might be suspicious. I'm so excited that several of us are going through this at the same time again.
