I am taking a page from Mrs. Blue's play book and made a fresh account to join this thread (since far too many of my friends IRL are on HB and could find out before I am ready to share). I will come out eventually, once I am closer to being ready to share IRL (and once we know the pregnancy is sticky).
EDD:
Jan 22
When did you find out:
Last week - slowly sinking in
How do you feel?:
mostly terrified (of MC), cautiously excited
Child #:
2 - my first is 2 years old
What type of provider will you see?/What type of birth do you want to have?:
Midwife
When is your first appointment?:
June 6
What are you most excited about?:
June 6. Will not rest easy til June 6. Had a missed miscarriage before this, so I am questioning my symptoms and an emotional basket case basically. Beyond that, assuming all goes well, very excited to see my oldest become a big sibling.
What are you scared/nervous about?:
Miscarriage. Oy.

How's everyone today so far? I have Fridays off from work and usually work a little to pick the hours up that I lost during the week do to dr.'s appointments etc. Today at noon I made myself lunch and then crashed in bed. Granted it had been a horrible night but still I ended up napping for over 2h!!! Crazy but lucky I get to work from home on Fridays so nobody noticed - ha.

@Radish: For the record, you can take MIJ off the list. I suspect now that I'm out in the open as Mrs. Blue, MIJ won't come around much anymore.
@MOJ: I
it. I hope you're better at incognito than I am. I'm so glad you're here in January with us. Sending lots and lots and lots of sticky thoughts for you and the lil bit!
@Snowdrop: Congrats, and welcome! Love the photo bomb!

I seriously hate posting from my phone!!!! Always post a big thing and lose it. Gah. Anyway.. Trying again.
Did anyone else have early symptoms? Is this a second pregnancy thing or just an unlucky thing? With my DD, I didn't have any symptoms til 6 weeks. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and the last week I've had on and off nausea, super sore boobs.. Man. I was paranoid about my light lines on wondfos so I took a FRER yesterday (19 dpo?? Idk..). Feeling a little better.. For now!

@Radish: I think @ValentineMommy: has an appointment on May 27th, too.
Thanks for updating!!

@Radish: Haha! No, I don't think I ever specifically said the other user name, but I think they saw the video announcement that I posted and put it together. Thanks for keeping up with the list!
@sorrycharlie: First pregnancy, I was nauseated by 4 weeks, puking my guts up by 5 weeks, was super exhausted all the time, and the ladies were really sore. This pregnancy, I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm generally tired with some chest soreness. I've had a few food aversions or felt like I need to eat a cracker or something, but no major nausea at all. It's hard not to freak out since my experience this time is sooo different, but my mom was just telling me last night that all of her three pregnancies were very different so that made me feel a little better. P.S. that line is DARK!

@sorrycharlie: i have definitly been queezy this afternoon and i am only 4 weeks today. My mum had very bad nausea so i think i must have it in store too. At this point i am just naively glad to have a symptom. This is #1 for me.

@sorrycharlie: Haha, I had a pack of 3 FRERs at the beginning of my testing and about 7 or 8 wondfo OPKs....I took the first FRER the day I got my positive, another one three days later, and then took the OPKs for fun. I kept telling myself I wouldn't use the 3rd FRER....but it was killing me in there, just taunting me in the drawer. So, of course I took it, and there was barely a control line because all the dye got stolen for the test line! I must admit--it was awesome.

@mfa_lady: Thanks! I am kind of all over this thread since I didn't read it all in order.
My appointment is now scheduled for June 24th! They could have done it the week before but my husband is out of town, so now I have to wait longer...booo.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Radish: The same thing happened to us! I could have had mine yesterday (!!!!!!!!!!) but my husband had a job interview and wouldn't have been able to make it on time. So, it's next week instead. All day yesterday I kept thinking about it!

Do y'all like the list the way it is, or do you want me to make it more fun like other months have done? Any suggestions on how you want the info shown? I'm fine if y'all like it the way it is, I just have extra energy to kill since I don't need to research baby gear.

I'm finding that the closer I get to my ultrasound, the more scared I get.
I think it's because I've never had an ultrasound with a positive outcome, you know? I will be so glad when next Thursday afternoon rolls around!
Also, I'm still having this bizarre acne ONLY on the bridge of my nose. It's the weirdest thing. Anybody else have weirdly placed zits?
I'm also running through our schedule in my head and prepping for some of the times it will be hard coming up to hide this baby business (almost always because I won't be drinking). We have a big party this weekend that our good friends always throw (and she's on baby watch, so it's going to be tough!!), and then the first weekend in June is my BIL's graduation party. MIL is on baby-watch, too. Haha. I'm going to need some help with that one!!

@mfa_lady: Aww, I can't wait for you to see a healthy growing baby.
At least it isn't too long of a wait.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Radish: Thanks, lady.
I feel like it's been ages, but it's so much better than last time! (My practice usually does their first US at the end of the first tri.) Looked at the calendar today and realized I got my BFP four whole weeks ago. Crazy!!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@mfa_lady: I've never had a loss, so I won't pretend to know exactly what it feels like to wait for this first u/s from that perspecive. But, with my last pregnancy, I was high-risk and had to have an u/s every two weeks from 8 weeks on. Even though most people probably think that sounds like a great thing, it sucks when you're always scared that this will be the time the sky falls down on you. From my experience, right after the u/s I would feel really relieved and at ease for the first week. Then the next week, I would be a nervous wreck because I knew the u/s was coming up again and I would start worrying all over again about what it would show. I really hope for you that after this u/s you'll be able to rest easy about the pregnancy, but I just wanted to share my experience because I think when you've had anything go wrong or a potential problem diagnosed you start viewing u/s in a really different light. Yes, they're exciting and it's great to get to see your baby, but you can't help but be a little terrified because you've lived through experiencing one that wasn't great/wasn't all good news, etc. That said, there's nothing as sweet as seeing that little tadpole the first time and hearing that heartbeat reverberate through the room and knowing that for right now everything is wonderful, and I can't wait for that to happen for you!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Thank you so much for your perspective! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is experiencing/has experienced that extreme excitement and fear around the US, all at the same time. It's so weird, you know, how there are opposite emotions competing ALL THE TIME during this pregnancy business.
Like you said, it's hard not to view the US in a different light after you've had anything but a positive experience. I said this yesterday, but I feel like I have ultrasound PTSD...because the only ones I've ever had have been to discover and confirm my missed MC.
My practice actually offered to let me have my ultrasound around 6 weeks, but that is when I lost my last pregnancy...and so I waited two more weeks to schedule so that I can see something different than what I saw last time. I hope that will help at least a little bit with easing my mind...but we will see. Thank you again!

@MOJ: Congrats and welcome! Your edd is MY birthday!!!
@sorrycharlie: I started having symptoms around 4.5 weeks this time, so you're in good company! And I took 2 FRERS, 2 digi's, and 8 wondfos lol...I peed on all the sticks I could find!
@mfa_lady: Even though I have not experiences a loss, I am TERRIFIED of going in for the u/s on Tuesday and hearing bad news. I had already had a u/s and seen the heartbeat with DS by now, and the waiting is killing me. This is so bad for my unresolved post partum anxiety as well. This is about to be the longest holiday weekend in history!

Hi everyone! I've been reading along with this group from the beginning, hopeful I would join, but was going to wait to respond for awhile longer to play it safe. However, I just got back from a workout class (barre--so hard!) where the instructor was encouraging us to kick negative thoughts out of our minds while we were kicking our legs around. I know it sounds cheesy, but I was imagining pushing away all my fears and anxieties about things going wrong with this pregnancy. So I'm going to try to keep away from "stinkin' thinkin,'" as the instructor put it, and embrace that today I'm pregnant! So without that, here's my little intro:
EDD:
FertilityFriend says 1/23.
When did you find out:
May 15th, early in the morning.
How do you feel?:
Good! Sore boobs, but otherwise fine. This worried me so I took another pregnancy test just this morning. I sometimes get a really faint yucky feeling, but I can ignore it. I do need to eat more regularly (something I'm bad about) or else I feel blah.
Child #:
Number 1. It took us awhile to get here.
What type of provider will you see?/What type of birth do you want to have?:
I was seeing a midwife and love that model of care, but she really didn't handle my infertility/endometriosis well at all, so I'm moving on to an OB/GYN.
I hope to go med-free, and the hospital where I'll deliver is supportive of that. But I won't be ashamed to take the drugs if it gets unbearable! I'm a very middle-of-the-road type of gal.
When is your first appointment?:
I've already had two betas. My first ultrasound is June 4.
What are you most excited about?:
Seeing the baby for the first time. I could cry just thinking about it. It will be fun to tell my family. Can't wait to feel the baby move. Turning our little rental into a nice home for the baby. All of it!
What are you scared/nervous about?:
Is this baby going to stick around? And I'm doing what I need to do for it to grow and be strong?
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Happygal: yayyy glad to have you!! I'm nervous about the same things.

@sorrycharlie: I definitely got symptoms earlier this time around. I had mild nausea at 4 weeks, that is unfortunately only getting worse
@MOJ: yay, welcome!
@Pumuckl: ugh, today is rough. LO is still sick (thankfully past the scary croup, but this cough and congestion just won't quit. DH and I are both sick now as well. My nausea is getting worse - I'm pretty much living off English muffins, apricots, and grapefruit juice these days.
-I always feel guilty for complaining about pregnancy symptoms, because I am super grateful to be pregnant and the only thing that matters is a healthy little bean. I also loved being pregnant the first time - once I got past the first tri, it was wonderful. So for those who are pregnant with #1 a hang in there, it gets so much better!-
@mfa_lady: like @Mrs. Blue:, I haven't had a loss so I can't imagine what that's like
We did have a scare with LO#1's anatomy scan (choroid plexus cyst on the brain, which resolved and turned out to be nothing later but which can be a marker for trisomies or other scary stuff). Ever since that scan, I've had a lot of anxiety with ultrasounds. That was another reason I was glad we didn't find out the sex at that appointment. It was a stressful, not fun experience.

@sorrycharlie: thanks! I've been repeating in my head "What's good for the mom is good for the baby." I know what is good for me, although I don't always choose it! (Chick-fil-A, I'm looking at you.)
I also had a friend share an article on Facebook about how our diets before we're even pregnant affect babies' development. I didn't click on it to read.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@Happygal: Yay! So glad you took the plunge. I am also trying to focus on positive thoughts, but it is hard not to think what if. And now I can't remember if I took my prenatal.
I was silly excited to change my FF app spot to a pregnancy app on my phone.

@ValentineMommy: Thinking of you this weekend, lady! Can't wait for you to get in there on Tuesday!
@Happygal: WELCOME! I totally understand your fears/worries, but I'm really glad you're here. Hope the days between now and June 4th fly by for you!
@keepcalmcarrie: Thank you for the first-timer encouragement! And for sharing your US experience. I have to believe that one of these days I'll have at least a smidge more peace about this.
@Happygal: Hear, hear!! I just had a small Coke slurpee from 7-11....weirdest craving ever, but I've literally been wanting one for a WEEK. So, I just went for it. I think it was like 12oz or something...and while I'd prefer not to have had it....I feel much better already. Craving satisfied. I looked it up and they allegedly have like 8 - 15mg of caffeine per 8oz of Slurpee....so I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@mfa_lady: you totally shouldn't beat yourself up about the cokr
I'm still enjoying my morning coffee everyday. I'd get a terrible headache if I quit it and I need it in order to function.
@Happygal: Welcome, welcome! Glad you pushed your fears aside!
@keepcalmcarrie: sorry to hear J is still sick
and you're sick too now!
@Mrs. Blue: ha, your description of the fear before the u/s is pretty much what I wanted to say a couple of pages back. I always get sooooo worried that this time will be the time that we'll get the bad news. Totally crazy since I wasn't high-risk or anything...
@Radish: what would you suggest for the list? I'm fine either way
nectarine / 2079 posts
@Pumuckl: It doesn't seem like there is much interest, so it is fine to stay the way it is. NBD.
pear / 1846 posts
@Happygal: urgh, no one wants to read about what the can't do anything about!
@MOJ: Congrats
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Happygal: Woohoo!! Welcome, & congrats!!
@Pumuckl: I still drink my coffee every morning, too, but I'm always nervous about what will happen because coffee was the one thing that would make me literally projectile vomit for my entire pregnancy last time. I'm soooo hoping that I can keep drinking coffee the whole time this go round.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Happygal: oh sheesh. If that were the case my DD would be a mess. I lived on fast food during first half! All I could eat. Babies get most of what they need from you - MOM is the one who may suffer!
