I was thinking of doing a bump out thread like the August DDC has done--it seems like a nice way to get to know each other a little better.
Watch for it and join in!

@Gigi2: I had to get the shots for rh factor. It's no big deal at all. I think I got a shot sometime early in the third trimester and another one in the hospital. It was blissfully a non-event. I think it's only a possible issue if they don't know and you don't get the shots.

@mfa_lady: yay, congrats on the new job! So glad you got it and even have some paid mat. leave to go with it. And also "yay" so feeling better. I've been feeling better too and I think it has something to do with what I have for lunch. Whenever I eat warm meals I feel fine and when it's just a salad I feel jucky.
@Happygal: Congrats! So glad to hear everything is fine and you get to graduate.
@Cupcake: Welcome, welcome!
I was at the doc's office today again to get another blood draw for the weird virus. hmmmpfff. I'll get all the regular blood work done next week at my appointment. I asked if it's possible to do it together today but the nurse was like "no - there's no one else here and it has to go to a different lab and we have to prepare everthing etc." So ok, I'll get stung by needles again in a week. Glad I have good veins
Other than that I'm just glad that I can now feel the baby bump grow somehow that gives me some piece of mind.

@Pumuckl: I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this virus thing. It sounds like a lot of hassle! I hope that all stays normal and you don't have to deal with any complications. I'll be thinking about you!
I'm feeling totally crappy today because I've been up since 4, worrying about giving notice at work. I've worked here for four years and absolutely adore my boss (even though I haven't adored my job for some time). It is not going to be a happy conversation. I know it's for the best, and I'm SO excited about my new job, but it's still hard. Ugh.

@charmed: Thanks for doing the list!
I have another appointment tomorrow, but it won't be anything exciting. Probably a really brief pelvic exam and a lot of talking. I'm just excited to see my midwife again--since I only had an ultrasound last week (no actual appointment), I haven't seen her since I've been pregnant post-MC!

@cheesehead: hope your appointment goes well today!! Excited to see when your EDD is
@Pumuckl: Sorry about the virus and all the blood draws! Hopefully they get it figured out and you don't have any issues.
@mfa_lady: It's so hard to quit a job when you love your boss. Hopefully your boss will be happy for you
I am sooo nervous and excited for my appointment today. I actually have two: the first is at 2:30 and it's basically information gathering and blood draws (it's supposed to take an hour, are they asking for my life story??). Then at 3:40 I have an OB consult and ultrasound appt. with one of the doctors in the practice (DH will be joining me for this appointment). Hopefully I'll have good news and an ultrasound picture to share when it's all over!

@charmed: Thanks, girl! I'm sure your appointment will be awesome. Thinking of you!
pear / 1846 posts
@charmed: i have my first mw appointment on monday and got told that would take an hr too, I was quite surprised as nothing usually takes more than ten minutes on the nhs but when I researched it apparently there is a ton of paperwork and med history, bloodtests and urine tests etc to do, not very exciting but at least I can now see why it takes an hour. Hopefully they will book me in for my NT scan too (which will be my first).
Would it be really bad if I had a second lunch? I was feeling a bit off before eating and now I feel fine but just really really hungry.... what the hell is wrong with that?!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: I know how you feel! I've only had one boss that I really adored and I felt so bad about quitting. I just couldn't afford the pay cut anymore and it was tough. However, I'm sure your boss will understand, especially since you don't love your job anymore. Definitely take some time to rest today!
@charmed: That sounds intense! I'm sure everything will be fine.
@Snowdrop: I'm opting in for a second breakfast so I think you get a pass.
I haven't had an appetite in a while so I eat while I can. By dinner, I could be over it.
nectarine / 2079 posts
I can't believe it has only been two weeks since I found out I was pregnant. I feel like it has been so much longer. Hurry up, time!
@Snowdrop: I also had a second breakfast already. Neither of which was healthy.
persimmon / 1177 posts
@Radish: @Snowdrop: @Snowdrop: @namaste: thanks ladies!
@Snowdrop: @Radish: I'm about to have second breakfast
My stomach just feels off if I haven't eaten recently, so I've adapted a hobbit meal schedule
pear / 1846 posts
@namaste: @Radish: @charmed: glad to know I'm not the only one, my mum is french and they are really keen on not putting on too much pregnancy weight so I think I'll keep the two lunches thing on the down low hahaha.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Snowdrop: I really also didn't want to put on to much weight but I also noticed that I had a really hard time gaining starting from about the second half of my 2nd trimester the first time. So I'll def. be eating as much as I want this time in the early days so that loosing weight at the end wouldn't be as bad. (I gained 22 lbs total last time. By 2w pp I was down to pre-pregnancy weight.)
nectarine / 2079 posts
@charmed: Haha, nice. I have been eating all day lately. It was so much easier last time when I went into work and didn't have an entire kitchen of food available throughout the day.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
I hear you guys on the extra food. I'm really hating this starving/nothing sounds good phase (is it a phase if it's been going on for a month?). I've been eating a lot of Beefaroni. How disgusting is that?
Just told my boss about the new job. She cried. Gosh! It was really hard, but I feel a lot better now. Now I just have to get psyched about learning all the new stuff I have to learn so I can start at my new place!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Snowdrop: I hear you! I am trying to be good about weight, eating good foods, etc but it's hard to plan when you're not in control. Like I predicted, I'm now in full nausea and you couldn't pay me to eat anything right now.
@mfa_lady: I'm in that phase still. Nothing sounds good when I'm feeling nauseous so the poor DH has to fend for himself every night for dinner. Last night was the first night we ate the same thing in almost two weeks. I'm glad you're feeling better about your job! Only to go up from here!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
I have gained five lbs this week. FIVE POUNDS. Wtf?!
I don't think I gained 5 lbs the entire first tri with my daughter. I cannot button my higher waisted jeans (Loft). I'm wearing old American Eagle ones, that are so worn and so old they're about to rip in spots, ha. but, they button underneath my belly.
I don't know whether to hope I'm just showing early, fat, or twins. I kind of hope the first.

@raindrop: love the calendar!!!
I'm definitely in the camp of no food sounds good. ugh. Don't want to eat anything. For some reason Rice Krispies (which I never normally eat...) sound ok to me, but not exactly do-able during my workday. Probably will be what I eat for dinner tonight. Ha!
Also - the water in my office is broken right now. No water and no bathroom when secretly preg SUCKS!

@sorrycharlie: I'm really glad I don't currently have a scale.
@Gigi2: Uh yeah, that sounds brutal. Hope it gets fixed soon!

I can eat, but my aversions are strong so it's mostly carbs. Super healthy.

@raindrop: haha! great minds - I just had a sprite for "lunch" and a drinkable yogurt. blech. and oops.
