@Mrs. Blue: Just read your post. Thanks for making me cry at work! It was very touching. Loved it!

@Mrs. Blue: another fan of your post. Very touching! It also reminded me of my parent's story. They tried for many years to get pregnant. The month my grandfather died, they weren't TTC b/c they were so occupied with his illness. He passed away, and my mom found out a few days later she was pregnant. So symbolic of the circle of life.

@mfa_lady: now I need frosted flakes!!!
Dh went to the store last week at 8 pm for me: for 3 boxes character shaped kraft (not spongebob, everyone knows spongebob tastes bad!), 2 boxes velveeta (whole grain spirals) & a package double stuffed EL fudge.
Obv only ate one box but he said they were all on sale so he played it safe hahah.

@sorrycharlie: So, what you're saying is--we're basically on the same diet right now. Solid, solid choices, my friend.
Also, you guys--I'm training at my new job two days a week for the next two weeks, and they just sent me my onboarding plan....it's eleven pages long. HOLY CRAP. I'm so excited and literally so afraid that I'm going to pass out from sheer pregnancy exhaustion/brain usage by like 11AM.

@sorrycharlie: I had DH go on an emergency mac'n'cheese run on Sunday.
Kraft Mac n Cheese
Cheese Danishes
Strawberry frozen yogurt
Honey Nut Cheerios...
My OB reminded me to eat a healthful diet. Hahaha.

@mfa_lady: what's the new job? I love new beginnings. Exciting!
@sorrycharlie: I'm still craving lots of fresh fruit and have been making fruit spritzers to help quench my thirst. My husband supports this. He does not, however, support my desire to eat gummy worms, although he did bring some home for me the other day. They are really good.

@oliviaoblivia: my OB is known for his strict stance on weight gain. I'm hoping I'm not going to already get a scolding at Monday's appointment!

@oliviaoblivia: My midwife said "You know, the first trimester is what we call survival mode. You'll be fine--and WANT to eat better/exercise/etc once you start feeling a little better." I wanted to kiss her.

@Happygal: Ugh. that sucks. Mine didn't say anything about it last pregnancy. Fingers crossed I don't go totally off the rails.

@Happygal: I'm going to be a writer for a local company that creates training materials for their clients. It's a lot more fun than it sounds, I promise! It's a pretty young company, and they've been growing like crazy. Their office is very Google-y--lots of fun shared space, snacks, etc. But I'm starting to freak out that it's going to be too much for me, given how tired I've been!

@sorrycharlie: Um love your food choices, and now I want el fudge cookies! And yes Spongebob's do taste weird!

@Raindrop: Thank you!! Cross your fingers that I don't pass out on the first day.

@mfa_lady: I will cross my whole body for you! I'm sure you will do fine lady!

Here is an update about me - Last night still had some dark red blood coming out when I peed, I don't think it was a lot since it only appeared when I wiped. This morning I still had some dark red blood but again only when I wiped.
TMI : I kind of held out going to peed for a while at work because I didn't want to see blood. So lame. It's going to be there weather I go or not go. But when I finally went. No blood! Just a slight tint of brown when I wiped. Then when I went again later no blood or tint at all. Woohoo!!
I really hope it stays that way. *fingers crossed*

@MapleMoose: Welcome!
@sorrycharlie: hahaha the Annie's Homegrown mac and cheese was on sale at Target today and I grabbed two boxes just to be safe I did have an egg, avocado sandwich from Panera this morning and a cookie because...why not.
@mfa_lady: You'll be amazing! New jobs are always fun. It can be overwhelming but you got picked for a reason, pregnancy brain and all!
@Raindrop: Yay! That's good news!
The only big accomplishment I've made this week is to add workouts back into my schedule. I'm doing a short strength training circuit in the mornings before my nausea gets too overwhelming. I've missed squats so much!
I'm telling a couple of my good friends tonight at dinner and I'm sort of nervous! One of them dreamed about me doing so around January so now I get to tell her to invest in a crystal ball.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@namaste: Wow really they dream you were due around Jan? That's really impressive.
My morning sickness actually has started to only stay in the morning. Thank goodness I hope that happens for you soon!

Hahaha you ladies crack me up with your food choices. We don't have any of those over here except for frosted flakes
I've been craving nothing too crazy this time. Last time I could've lived of yoghurt alone. I actually still like sweets this time - I didn't like those until the very end last time.

@MapleMoose: welcome, welcome! Glad you joined in on the fun! And yay for another mom in the 2 under 2 camp.

@namaste: Your friends are nicer than mine. My BFF dreamed I was pregnant with triplets this time! Thankfully, she didn't tell me until after the ultrasound showed one baby!

As for food cravings, I mainly still want white carbs. The other day we had spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and caesar salad. After that meal, I swear I could eat only caesar salad and garlic bread. I had it again last night. Naturally, the only salad that sounds edible is the fattiest one ever!

@namaste: Thank you!
@Pumuckl: Thanks! I know women have been managing 2 under 2 for ages but it still scares me a little bit!
Another vote for the Kraft macaroni and cheese cravings (shaped pasta of course). And bad foods in general. I'm trying to limit my portions but oh man I want lots and lots of carbs.

@MrsTiger: spongebob as a whole weirds me out. There will never be spongebob in my house, lol!!
@Raindrop: hope that's the last of it!!

@Raindrop: Yes! She needs to cash in on those psychic powers.
@Mrs. Blue: hahaha that's insane! Well thank goodness you have one baby!
After telling my friends last night, they both cried, which was sweet but totally caught me off guard. I haven't really cried/been weepy since week 6 so I was my normal non-sensitive self but they were super happy. In that group, no one has been pregnant for about five years so it's been a long time without any babies for future aunties to play with.

@Mrs. Blue: white carbs have been making up 90% of my diet lately. I told DH I can't go to the grocery store by myself b/c all I'll buy is crackers, cookies, and pop tarts!
@namaste: glad your friends were happy! 5 years is a long time without any tiny babies to cuddle!
@Radish: that link is really neat! Thanks for sharing.

Hope everyone had a good Father's Day weekend!
I finally got to tell one of my good friends and her husband I'm pregnant (they told us they were expecting last year on Father's Day). They were both so happy, and it was fun to be able to talk baby/pregnancy things with them.
They also have the cutest 5 month old, and it's crazy to think that next year we'll have a 5 month old of our own. It really hit me that not only am I pregnant, I'm going to have an actual baby too
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@charmed: Isn't it so cool what happens within a year. I was just starting to see daylight again last year this time and now I have a fun and totally wonderful toddler running (okay crawling) around. What a difference a day makes. The days are long but the years are short!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Radish: What a neat link! I wish labor was that fast in real life haha
@charmed: It's so great to be able to share such wonderful news. You made the realization a lot sooner than I did last time. I was so focused on *pregnant* that I didn't have the epiphany of *baby* until 2nd trimester.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Pumuckl: I actually had to reschedule til friday! DH still has my car. boo. it was only a NP visit (paperwork, bloodwork) but still ..oh well.
in other news..I think I BRIEFLY spotted a heartbeat on my doppler this weekend!! I mainly get a 125 ish reading and does not sound like a heartbeat. I didn't hear anything at all, but saw it flash 160-161 for a couple seconds. I can't wait to try again in a couple days!

I cannot wait for my appointment this week. I really need to see this little guy/gal. Confession: I haven't taken the tampons out of my bag yet.

My NT scan got rescheduled to this afternoon. I'll post a pic around 5ish. Fingers crossed everything's ok.
