@Happygal: all the Dr said was "well there's an increase in blood flow down there right now" But it was so much blood. This is completely TMI but it was dripping off DH. I'll be curious if something surfaces when I get examined in a few weeks. I didn't consult Dr Google at all for fear of diagnosing myself with some myserious disease.

@Cupcake: Wow, awesome picture! That's terrifying about so much blood, but I'm glad the doctor didn't seem concerned. Oh, and mad props, for resisting Dr. Google. Always a wise thing to avoid!

@Cupcake: wow what a cool picture, seriously it looks like straight from an anatomy book. Very sorry about the scare though!

@Cupcake: Can't even imagine how scary that was. Good for you for actually just listening to your doctor and not freaking out! And I know I said it already, but I CAN'T GET OVER THAT PICTURE! You and I are due in the same week so it is amazing to me to think that that's going on in our bods right now.

@Mrs. Blue: I know. Dr google brings out the crazy in preggos. :)@mfa_lady: I'll add another pic. It looked like a normal ultrasound but she started pushing some buttons and all of a sudden it was 3D and I was like WOW. I asked her if it looked like a boy or a girl and she said.... "Cupcake, really... It looks like a baby" I said, well I tried.

@Cupcake: Glad things are looking good. Hopefully you won't have to go through that again. Definitely an awesome ultrasound.

hello ladies! after several weeks of being a lurky lurker, i am finally joining this thread and wishing a happy, healthy 6-7 more months to all of you.
EDD: Jan 27, 2015
When did you find out: 8dpo. major squinter, had to tilt it just right in the light.
How do you feel?: morning sickness has worsened in the last few days, and so tired even though i am getting 8-9 hours of full sleep every night!
Child #: 2. LO is almost 20 months
What type of provider will you see?/What type of birth do you want to have?: Sticking with the same OB/GYN as I had with my first. I don't really have a preference on type of birth, as long as baby arrives healthy.
When is your first appointment?: Had my first at 6 weeks, had my second today at 8 weeks. I had an ultrasound for both. Baby is measuring right on schedule!
What are you most excited about?: Actually, I'm not terribly excited yet. Still too early. Will start to get excited after I get into second trimester.
What are you scared/nervous about?: having TWO kids. i have only heard one or two people tell me that it isn't as hard as they expected. most people say its more than doubly hard! and i'm scared about the newborn days. those were some very hard days for me with LO #1 and now I'll have a toddler running around.

@SleepyMonkey: Welcome and congrats! I heard one to two is rough also, not as bad as zero to one but I heard two to three is easy! Hehe.

@SleepyMonkey: welcome and congrats!!
@Cupcake: glad all is ok - that must have been terrifying (and, um, gross for all involved). What an amazing image though. Enjoy your pelvic rest

@Raindrop: I hope 2 to 3 is as easy as you heard!
@SleepyMonkey: Welcome!

@Mrs. Blue: LOL I'm crossing my fingers for you!
It's actually a software joke. There are only 3 number cases if you don't have any other boundary conditions. 0, 1, 2+ when you are testing. So my coworkers always joke if you have 2 you might as well have more because you already know how your "program" aka life works with the 2 case and the 2+ case shouldn't be different!

@SleepyMonkey: welcome! A squinter at 8 dpo is impressive! Is this pregnancy feeling like your first so far, or has it been different?
@mfa_lady: how is the new job going? Hanging in there?
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Happygal: Hey there! I've only been one day so far--this week and next, I'm splitting time between my current job and new job. The split is tougher than I thought--it's hard to get acclimated at the new place only being there a couple of days a week, and it's hard to stay motivated at my current job when I'm thinking about the new one! I'll be glad once I'm there for good. Thanks for checking in!

@mfa_lady: I hate being the new kid. You have to ask a lot of questions and don't feel totally comfortable. And then one day you realize you're no longer the new kid!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Happygal: So true! They're all about question-asking at my new job, and the people are super nice, which is a huge plus. But still...it's a totally new ball game for me (this is a new job but also a semi-career change) so it's going to be hard to get acclimated until I'm really there full time!

Question for the January mamas! I know @Happygal: is kicking our butts with her personal trainer, but does anyone else have any suggestions for at-home pregnancy workouts?
I have back and foot problems (geez, I make myself sound like a grandma!) so pre-pregnancy I did a lot of power walking with hand weights. In case you're wondering, yes, my neighbors think I'm insane, and no, it doesn't bother me. Ha! I'm JUST starting to get to the point where I'm still really tired not not feeling as sick, so I'd like to start exercising again. I'll definitely do the walking thing, but I want to get a good DVD, too. I'm hoping to get back to yoga in the next couple of weeks also.
Not sure if anybody reads the blog "House Tweaking," but she talks about both of these DVDs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BLKJ5E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AQ4WJM2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER. Anybody tried either one? I don't want to get both, because I'm cheap.
Tell me your pregnancy workout secrets!!

@Cupcake: I mean, this is the best response ever. I love you right now.
(This is a great example of when we need a THUMBS UP emoticon!!)

@mfa_lady: Last pregnancy, all I did was walk more in everyday life (park further away, use stairs, etc.). This time, because I have a toddler, I doubt I will even do that.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Cupcake: Haha!
@mfa_lady: I walk 1.5 miles to and from work and call it a day.

@mfa_lady: let me be clear--I don't think you'd really be impressed with my workouts so far! The trainer was kind, but definitely smiling at my lack of coordination yesterday. She was trying to teach me the moves you use for the Body Pump class. I'm going for some sessions to learn how to use the pilates equipment, which is probably more my speed.
Walking is so good for you, and I love that you take your weights. Do you punch them in the air? I'm getting a great visual here.
I read mixed reviews about the Tracy Anderson pregnancy videos. I also was reading about good exercises for pregnancy and squats are always mentioned. I think Ina May said that a woman who does 300 (?!) squats a day is going to have an easy labor experience. I found this PDF that gives you a program you can modify and do at your home for each trimester: http://breakingmuscle.com/workout-of-the-day/pdf/3776/2117/2012-07-03-to-2012-09-29

@Radish: Preach, girl! I think chasing a toddler counts as exercise!
@oliviaoblivia: That's awesome, though! I wish I could walk to work.
@Happygal: Man, I always wanted to try Body Pump when I was a member at a gym--but I was always too scared about being too weak and uncoordinated! Haha. So I'm sure you're doing great! Good to know that you've heard mixed reviews about the TA pregnancy videos. Maybe I'll try the other one instead. And that PDF is AWESOME. Thank you for sharing!

@mfa_lady: the only exercise I'm doing is dog walking and only if I'm not shattered, poor pooch, I didn't take her out yesterday! When I'm feeling better I want to try pregnancy pilates.

@Snowdrop: Yeahhh. Looks like my labor is going to be ROUGH. Hahahaha. I don't know if I could do THREE squats today.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@mfa_lady: lol I didn't do a single squat with my pregnancy with #1. and my labor, start to fully dilated, was 3.5 hours. it might help but it doesn't guarantee anything!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Snowdrop: I tried to imagine how you could break that up into manageable pieces during the day, and didn't find a solution. 300 seems over the top. It did take me down a rabbit hole though and I read some motivating things: http://breakingmuscle.com/womens-fitness/stop-doing-kegels-real-pelvic-floor-advice-for-women-and-men

@sorrycharlie: on that same note, I had a friend who is super fit and had an awesome pregnancy. Last two weeks of her pregnancy, her baby flipped and she had to have a c-section! Good reminder that nothing is really guaranteed.
