@MapleMoose: that was a year earlier so itzy bitzy (5-6.5m). We travel a lot though (by car, train, plane) and he's like one of the most relaxed little dudes you'll meet. Besides he loves seeing new things and is crazy curious so we should be fine
@Raindrop: glad your little bean is safe. That Hawaii wedding dress code sounds "particular".
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@Mrs. Blue: LOL it's weird! They are having a beach wedding in Hawaii and the bride wants "beach formal" she even gives a link to her pinterest of what she expects from us on her website there is a tab called "Wedding Guest Attire".
It's actually not that unreasonable we just didn't have anything that fit the pinterest board. I bet everyone here probably already have the clothes! Me and DH only have formal wedding dark clothes. Which was fine for all the other weddings we went to. Haha.

Beach Formal
The wedding and reception will be beach formal. Please dress for the elements (sun, sand, water, and grassy lawns). Anything you would wear to a nice restaurant on a summer day is appropriate.
To help you understand the concept of beach formal, we have included a link below to examples of this kind of attire.

Here is a screen shot. Of her pinterest

Hi all! My next appointment is Friday (6/27) for bloodwork (we have specific genetic stuff in my family to worry about, so lots of appts and bloodtests to keep geneticist and ob and us happy).
Hope you're all feeling good!!

@Raindrop: Glad you had a great heartbeat and so sorry you're dealing with bleeding. I hope it stops soon!
I have mostly dark formal wear as well. I have a wedding next month and have no idea what to wear.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Raindrop: ok, explaining beach formal is fine. But the link to the Pinterest board is a bit over the top for me! It goes from coming across as being accommodating, to looking like you want guests to appear a certain way for photos.

@Raindrop: Beach formal is totally pretty and I like her board, but the link to the board does seem a little over the top and the wording made me laugh... "To help you understand the concept of beach formal..." You clueless, clueless guests
@Radish: My next appointment is June 26 - hopefully going to hear a heartbeat. But if not (they couldn't find one for DS at 11 weeks) I get an ultrasound!
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@Radish: I'm having a repeat ultrasound on July 1st because of a hematoma and some "cysts of uncertain clinical significance". Who knows. Hopefully, everything is okay.

Hey friends! My new job doesn't really allow much time for HB-ing during the day (but I'm at the old job today, so I might be around a little more). How is everyone doing? I've been reading your updates even though I haven't been able to comment much.
We have a crazy busy week this week. I'm still doing half-time at both jobs, and finishing up at my old/current job on Friday. We have our NT scan on Thursday afternoon, and just like last time, I was totally fine and confident until about a week before and now I'm worried again. I just keeping imagining that heartbeat we saw and heard at the first ultrasound (and remembering that I can't button any of my pants). My husband also has a meeting at which we're assuming he's going to get an offer for a new job (they've asked for salary history, done a background check, etc) on Thursday BEFORE the ultrasound, so it'll be a big day. We keep joking around and saying we might as well do it all at once, right? Two new jobs and a baby? Why not?
With the exception of a couple of SUPER stretchy pants I have, I'm using the old hair tie on the pants button trick these days. I think I'm going to go to Old Navy today and see what they have (if you have a card it's 10% off on Tuesdays!) and I have a rewards certificate, too. I really wanted to wait until I saw the little babe again to buy anything, but we're going out of town with DH's family next week and I'd really like to not be uncomfortable while we're away.
Yesterday I ate real food for almost the whole day (as opposed to overly processed junky stuff), which was a miracle. I'm finally starting to want fresh, good stuff, and that's super exciting. I'm still exhausted, but not nearly as nauseous. Anyone else starting to feel a little better?
Anyway, I miss you guys when I'm at this new job all day (hence this novel to you). Hope everyone is having a great week!

@mfa_lady: Same here, I have my next U/S coming up next week and I'm getting anxious again I'm sure we're gonna be fine. I must admit though that with every day I look more forward to the time when you can actually feel the baby move.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Pumuckl: Right?! That's exactly what my friend said--that it would get easier when you can feel the baby move. We almost didn't do the NT scan, but we're telling all of DH's family (and extended family) on this vacation, and I just didn't feel comfortable doing that without some more confirmation!
I felt a weird fluttery thing in my low belly this morning and I must confess, I googled "feel baby move at 12 weeks." HAHAHAHA. Wishful thinking! I wish it was Thursday already!
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@mfa_lady: hahaha, could totally be the baby but much more likely it was gas It felt like being tickled from inside for the first couple of days/weeks - then it was just hammering, jabbing and kicking
Hopefully work will keep you busy and in no time will it be Thursday!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: Your anxiety is totally understood. I hope your husband gets the job! Thursday is a big day for you! Let me know how your Old Navy journey goes. I'm off into the world on Thursday to try some shopping myself. Yikes.
Ok I totally felt fluttering the other day and googled it too! I'm glad I'm not crazy. Could have been gas but I don't know what it was
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@namaste: Enjoy your shopping spree Thursday, mat cloths are just so comfortable!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@namaste: SO GLAD I'm not the only one feeling weird flutters. The only thing that made me think it might be something other than gas was that it was so tiny I almost missed it, and it felt like little bubbles or something swimmy in there. Haha. I'll definitely let you know how Old Navy goes--I'm kind of terrified for anyone to see me in there shopping....but I'll just try to be incognito.
apricot / 316 posts
@mfa_lady: Good luck at your NT scan! I was anxious as well especially after I had a very active vacation, but it was amazing to see the little thing moving and looking more like a baby.
My next scan is the anatomy scan and that's all the way in August which seems like forever. I have suggested buying a home doppler to listen to the HB to DH, he seemed willing to buy one off ebay at a cheaper price so we'll see if we actually go through with it.
I only have 2 pants that fit me now, I went shopping last weekend and got maternity leggings and also a few summer dresses (non-maternity). I'm still waiting to go full-fledged maternity shopping for as long as I can.
persimmon / 1177 posts
@mfa_lady: have fun at Old Navy! I was totally trying to be stealthy when I looked at maternity clothes this weekend, I was so worried someone would see me I just grabbed a bunch of stuff to try on without really looking!
@namaste: have fun on your shopping spree too!
Second time moms: how early did you feel movement with your first pregnancies? I'm so anxious to start feeling the baby move, even though it is a ways off.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@pmrlady: Thank you! I wish it would just get here already. Do you have appointments before your anatomy scan in August? At our regular appointments with the midwife, they try to hear on the doppler. (I say try because when I was 9 weeks my tilted uterus didn't allow us to find it...but luckily I'd seen and heard it the week before in the US!)
@charmed: Thanks, lady! I will probably do exactly what you did, haha. I'll let you guys know how it goes!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@charmed: 17 weeks but I wasn't positive that was what I was feeling for another couple weeks!
persimmon / 1096 posts
@charmed: I actually felt movement with LO#1 at 14 weeks, cross my heart. It was definitely like little bubbles. I'm only 11 weeks now but I'm feeling the same thing again, every day for the past few days. I know the baby is TEENSY TINY, but J was so active kicking and punching in utero that I'm pretty sure my kids are just physically bonkers. I have a slight build, too (not super skinny or anything, just small bones) so I think it's easier to feel earlier.
persimmon / 1096 posts
@mfa_lady: I had a tilted uterus too with J, and that's why they couldn't hear the HB at 11 weeks. I'm thinking/hoping it's straightened itself out, because I guess that's typical after a full-term pregnancy (the uterus can only stay tilted for so long, after awhile that hefty baby starts to straighten it out!)
I'm nervous about my appointment on Thursday too. I had a dream that we got an ultrasound, and the baby was a boy and was enormous. And the face looked like an alien, which was a little disturbing. Ah, pregnancy dreams!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@charmed: Week 17 I felt definite bubbles, but a week later I knew it was the baby moving. Always kicked when my stomach growled lol
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@charmed: I didn't feel any baby movement until pretty late. I think it was somewhere around 22 weeks maybe? That said, I never felt a lot of movement. I think they just didn't have room for the karate chops and soccer practice like single babies! Oddly, the first time I ever knew I was feeling baby movement was when I rested my arm on my stomach and felt the baby kick from the outside. Maybe this time, I'll know more of what to look for.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@charmed: I think it was around 17w last time for me. I had an anterior placenta though which can often lead to movement be less feel-able so I was lucky to feel it pretty early.
@keepcalmcarrie: that dream sounds scary goodluck at your appointment as well.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@keepcalmcarrie: I've been having terrible dreams, too. haha I also had one where we had a boy and he was horrific looking! I woke up traumatized. In my dream I was like, but what do I do with him??
oh dear. thank goodness they're just dreams, LOL.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@charmed: I felt bubbles and flutters around 17/18 weeks and knew for sure they were kicks at 22.
I swear I've felt the same things already at 13 weeks.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Pumuckl: I can't wait. This past week, the bump is in control! Things still fit, but it's hard to hide these days.
@mfa_lady: Wear sunglasses and a big hat I'm sure you'll be fine!
@charmed: Thank you dear! I'm feeling lots of bubbles today and it's definitely not gas so idk! They come and go but they're there.
pear / 1846 posts
@keepcalmcarrie: I can't remember my dreams but I have started sleep talking again and was telling DH off for smoking last night (he hasn't smoked in 1.5 years)! They do say progesterone gives vivid dreams.
Has anyone got any pregnancy experiences related to a very anteverted uterus? I've heard it might cause you to show earlier with it being tilted so far forwards.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@mfa_lady: good luck with the shopping! I actually prefer to do all maternity shopping online. Old navy and gap always have good sales, shipping is free over 50$ and returns are free. So you can order a ton of stuff and sizes and return what doesn't work.
I felt movement around 17-18 weeks. I wasn't sure if it was real at first, but then it progressed in frequency. That is totally the best part of pregnancy! Also feeling/seeing hiccups is so cute.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@namaste: I hear you on the bump, I got dressed this morning in a hurry and once I looked down on myself a minute or two later I went straight back to get changed again because my bump was SOOOO obvious and we're not telling anyone until after the NT scan on 07/11.. So another three weeks of hiding.
@Snowdrop: sorry I don't have any experience with a tilted uterus.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@Happygal: @keepcalmcarrie: LOL I'm totally a clueless guest. This did force us to buy some new tan slacks for DH all his old ones don't fit him because marriage has made him fat... my bad.
@Espion: Good luck on your ultra sound... I didn't understand those words but I hope they mean "not a big deal just checking".
@mfa_lady: Good to hear your job is keeping you busy. Good luck on your appointment.
@namaste: Yay shopping!
@charmed: 20+ weeks maybe around 24 weeks. The only reason I kind of remember this was because during my 20 week scan I was asking the tech if it's normal not to feel anything yet and she said yes! Most people don't feel anything till about 22 weeks at the earliest. She said very lucky people get to feel it early but don't worry you are still pregnant. Haha.
@Snowdrop: I have a tilted uterus. I didn't show for a long time (7 months) but I am kind of heavy around my waist and I lost a of weight with my first so no one noticed the sort of exchange of fat to baby.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Snowdrop: Mine is tilted BACK, but since my midwife told me we wouldn't be able to hear the heartbeat as early, etc--it makes sense that yours would be the opposite (showing early, etc).
pomelo / 5000 posts
@mfa_lady: mine is backwards as well. I'm so glad to know that it may make it harder to hear the heartbeat so I don't have a panic attack at my next appointment! But I still think I'm already looking pregnant.
cherry / 132 posts
Is anyone else not looking pregnant yet? Or seeing any bump? (I'm talking to you girls later in the month, I think!) Wondering if at some point I should be seeing a difference?! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow...
Love reading all the updates - like @Mfalady: I have limited HB time with work but am happily following along with all of you! Glad to hear so many are feeling good. You earlier in the month ladies are really flying along! It's amazing!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Happygal: I'm already looking pregnant, too, tilted uterus and all! It's definitely one of those "has she gained weight or is she pregnant" bulges, but I can definitely tell. And when I press on it (sorry, baby!) it's definitely different than just a weird bloat. I know some of it is bloat, for sure....but that's not all!
Update on the shopping: Thanks to my $20 rewards certificate + 10% off if you use your Gap brand card on Tuesdays + finding the one pair of maternity jeans on the clearance rack, I just bought a tank top (non-maternity), a pair of maternity jean shorts, and a pair of maternity skinny jeans (both demi-panel) for a total of $27!!!!! I came home and put the shorts on immediately (duh) and they're a total dream.
pear / 1846 posts
@Gigi2: I'm not showing at all but I get bloated if I have to do something of an evening, a few times I've ended up unbuttoning my jeans and anything tight makes me feel a bit sick. I'm 9 weeks on friday. There does seem a lot of diffrrence between beginning of the month and end!
