@Mrs. Confetti: Enjoy your vacation and don't worry about your belly!

@mfa_lady: So excited for you guys! Sending happy thoughts for all of your big day changes!

My bff and husband came back yesterday from their 3-week trip around Asia and we finally got to tell them last night. They were super excited and I'm so glad that I have somebody who can help me out. She's gonna join me on my shopping adventure today. Wish us luck ladies! Hope you're all doing lovely today.

@namaste: YAY! So glad you got to tell them. Isn't it awesome to have someone close to talk to about it?

And thank you! I hope I'll have an awesome report by the end of the day!

@charmed: That's what we did the first time. Even though the world of the internets thinks it so common, hardly any of our family or friends had seen that done before. They thought I was soo original. Ha!

@Mrs. Confetti: Right there with you on the belly. Whoa! I'm going to have to start telling people outside of our family because this belly isn't going to be even arguably hidden for long. Yesterday one of my friends (who knows) told me I was "blossoming--not in a fat way, but in a definitely growing a baby way." I think she was subtly telling me I need to tell me boss soon!
    @mfa_lady: Good luck today!

@Mrs. Blue: @Mrs. Confetti: The second (or 3rd) baby bumb is insane. I'm only 13 weeks but have had to embrace it publicly for a while. There's no hiding this thing!

@Mrs. Blue: good point, I forget that not everyone looks at Pinterest as much as I do

Getting nervous for the appointment today! I really hope we hear a heartbeat loud and clear - I was a wreck when they couldn't get it for LO#1 at 11 weeks, although that clearly turned out okay.

We've jumped the gun and told quite a few friends at this point too, because yeah, the bump is telling for us. I suppose the should make me feel better, bit I'm just anxious to get confirmation.

@mfa_lady: good luck today, with your appt and to your DH!!!

@Mrs. Confetti: Glad to hear you had a nice vacation! Wow I'm surprise people are so bold to ask you point blank.

@mfa_lady: How's your appointment going? Good luck but inquiring minds want to know!

@charmed: The booties idea is cute! I actually don't see it that often.

    @namaste: Yay shopping.

@keepcalmcarrie: GL on your appointment! I hope you see and hear a heartbeat.

Update with me ... I totally have GD. Oh well. Next step to meet with a nutritionist. Boo. Most people find out at 20 weeks and only have to deal with it for 20 weeks but since I found out at 9 weeks I have to deal with it for 31 weeks! Not looking forward to that but I heard it's actually not too bad. So I'm trying to be positive. Story of my life.

@keepcalmcarrie: Good luck to you, too, lady!!

@Raindrop: Thanks for checking in! DH is at his meeting now, then our appointment is in an hour and half (probably two, the US people are always running behind). Eek! And SO sorry to hear about the GD. I'm sure you will work it out--and I've seen a lot of posts lately too that say it's not as bad as it seems at first. Good luck!

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@Raindrop: Aww, sorry about the GD. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to manage.

@keepcalmcarrie: Hoping you hear that heartbeat loud and clear!

Great appointment - heartbeat in the 140s , measuring on track! Whew

@Raindrop: So sorry to hear about the GD. I'm curious to know what the nutritionist says. I'm always looking for new healthier alternatives to keep it interesting. Although I have the opposite problem with hypoglycemia (my blood sugar gets too low).

@keepcalmcarrie: Yay for a happy appointment!

As for me, I'm headed to the lab later for a blood draw. I was exposed to a relative at a family party this weekend who has been diagnosed with shingles so the dr wants to run a titer to make sure my body has the antibodies against the virus because it could harm baby.

  17. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@mfa_lady: hopefully, right this minute you're having a fantastic u/s!

@Raindrop: Ugh, I know that had to suck to find out. If it makes you feel better, everyone I know that had GD found it to be a bit of a blessing in disguise because it kept them from gaining any extra weight! Just a little perk to a sucky thing to deal with!

You guys, it's the best day ever! My husband got the job, and our little babe is growing like a weed!! We saw fingers and arms waving and crossed ankles and a HB of 170. Baby also have us a good flash and tech guessed girl. Eeeee!!!

@mfa_lady: Congrats to your hubby! and on the great HB!

@Raindrop: GD sucks but like Mrs.Blue said there are some good things that come from it. I understand that once you get used to the diet that it's easy to stick to.

@MapleMoose: Ugh. My grandmother had shingles last year and there was a big debate about whether I could go home for Thanksgiving because DD would get exposed. Fingers crossed you have immunity!

@MapleMoose: I did go. We were very careful about exposure and it turned out ok. All of her sores were crusted over and covered with bandages. I was obsessive about hand washing.

@keepcalmcarrie: yay! Glad the appointment went well!

@mfa_lady: Huge congrats! Can't wait to see a pic

@Raindrop: sorry to hear about the GD. Maybe knowing about it longer will just mean you'll a pro at managing it

@MapleMoose: That's no fun! Hope the test shows you and baby have immunity.

@oliviaoblivia: That's good that you were still able to attend. We are supposed to attend another event this weekend and I'm going to be obsessive with the handwashing too. And no physical contact. I'm also hoping LO #1 isn't going to contract chicken pox. She's only 8 months, I'm not ready for that yet!

@charmed: Thanks! One test will come back in a day or two and the results of the second by Monday.

@mfa_lady: That's such a good picture! Profile is always the cutest. My son did not like profile pictures... he would always look at where the U/S so I always got creepy Skeletor pictures.

  33. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Raindrop: Oh, we have a Skeletor picture, too! I showed my parents tonight and called that one "the alien baby." I much prefer the profile!

@mfa_lady: What a beautiful baby!!! So glad your appointment went well too - and congrats to your husband on the new job! What a great day for your growing family

Thanks everyone for the support - I'm so thankful we're all getting close to the end of the first trimester. It's really becoming real!

One thing that really surprised me at this appointment - I've lost four pounds. We don't have a scale in our house, but I'm just feeling chubbier and my morning sickness hasn't been as bad as it was with LO#1, so I was actually shocked. I lost 7 pounds in the first tri with J, so I guess it isn't unusual, but the bump feels so big that I just assumed I'd gained, like a lot. It's so crazy how our bodies change during pregnancy.

Congrats to all you ladies on awesome appointments with heat beats and scans! My dr doesn't do a NT scan, just blood work so no ultrasound til 20 wks. Boo! Sorry I haven't been around lately...This MS is kicking my butt this time around, even the zofran isn't working some days fingers crossed it doesn't last as long as last time...
On the bright side, I finally have a due date..Jan 29!! My little brothers birthday is the 31st so maybe he will get a birthday present! And my next appt is quite the wait...not until July 21st.

Keep all the awesome pictures coming! I'm loving seeing all the little beans and blobs transforming into perfect tiny little babies!
