@Mrs. Blue: I told my boss yesterday too, and was also embarrassed / beat red. I just started a new job and was worried what he would think, but he said a legitimate congrats and was just happy to hear that I would be coming back after maternity leave. I also told my team this morning in our daily meeting, and it was super awkward because they are all older male web developers, who had no idea what to say! It feels good to be out at work though because now I can let my bump hang out!

So we're on Day 4 without power
Our are got hit with really bad storms Monday night, and we have lots of trees/power lines down. I'd say about 75% of the area has power back, but we're in a very small neighborhood and are usually last on the list to get power.
Thankfully we have a generator that can power 1/2 the house so our fridge is still working, but this is getting old! -

I have my nt scan in Friday. I kind of can't believe it has come so fast. My morning sickness has mostly gone away except at night and when I get headaches. With #1, I feel like it was completely gone overnight at 9.5 weeks. I am almost 11 weeks with this one and it is still lingering. Hope everyone has a good 4th! We were on vacation at a lake house last week and I co slept with my daughter for the first time ever. It sucked, haha. Just because I'm not used to it and she rolled all over my head in the middle of the night. Thankfully she went back in her crib when we got back home yesterday. Phew!
@charmed: has your power come back yet?
@MrsTiger: @Mrs. Blue: I also get embarrassed about announcing at work. I waited until 20 weeks with my first because I felt so awkward about it. I will probably announce earlier this time but the awkwardness will still be there! Glad it went well for you both.

Gah, I've missed you ladies! We're back from our trip, which was...interesting. I'm really happy to be back and to be starting full-time at the new job tomorrow. It's going to be a crazy few weeks, but I'll be checking in!

Things here are a little tumultuous since we'll have to check in at the clinic with our first born tomorrow. He's had elevated liver markers for 3 months now and they want to find out why. Should be fun with a completely happy and (otherwise) healthy 15m in a hospital setting, no?!

@Happygal: I use Photoshop or Illustrator on my computer to edit/add text to my pics, but I'm sure there are some apps out there that would allow you to do the same thing. sorry I don't have any suggestions!

I hope you ladies are ok! I will go back and check in on all of your updates. Over the weekend, I had a terrible migraine
so I was holed up in my house with it completely dark most of the days. I just got my blood test results back and my white blood cell count is extremely high and I'm borderline anemic so I'm understanding where the migraine came from. Waiting for more news from the doctor on my white blood cell count but it's probably just an infection. Ugh!In other news, I was bombarded with well wishes which was great but I got an unauthorized belly rub which caught me off guard lol. Hello pregnancy!

Not a good pregnancy day for me. Threw up after not feeling sick for a few days and the referral has been lost for my NT scan (first chance to see baby) can't get in touch with anyone to sort it out and the only reason I even found out it has gone missing is because I ramg ip the US department. I can see me not getting this in time
@namaste: thank God your sickness has gone if you are getting migraines, you poor thing, I hope they clear up Fast.

@Snowdrop: I am so sorry, lady! I really hope they can get your NT scan stuff worked out--and that you feel better! I've felt much worse the last couple of days, too (14+3 today), which is the opposite of what I'd been hoping for. In my case I think it's mostly stress (ILs, new job, etc)...but goodness, gracious. Isn't it time for us to feel better yet? Thinking of you today.

@Snowdrop: I do too. I feel them when they're starting so I try to prevent it but there's not much that can be done.
@charmed: I can take Tylenol but it doesn't really do anything. I've tried cold compresses, cold showers, etc. The only thing I can do is keep the house dark and sit in one place.
Yesterday was better but I feel today has a lingering headache coming.

I am so over all the dreams. If I'm asleep I'm pretty much dreaming. Ugh, it was the same with DD and it just makes me feel less rested when I wake.

@namaste: ugh, sorry about the migraines. i know when i get headaches, i feel so sick and useless, i can't imagine what its like with a migraine. i hope you feel better soon and figure out what is causing your high white blood cell count.

@charmed: i have my NT scan on July 11th!
i went to the doctor today and the ultrasound showed me measuring a week ahead, at 12 weeks....so a due date of Jan 20th. i guess i will see if that shows up on Friday at my NT scan too, then maybe they'll move my due date. the baby had grown so much in the last three weeks, it made this pregnancy feel real. when its just a little gummi bear on the ultrasound, it is hard for me to accept that i am really pregnant but it really looks like a little baby now! anyway, i hope everything goes well at the NT scan, then i'll announce at work.

Needless to say, I just about died.

@namaste: Sorry about the migraines. They're the worst. I don't know how you feel about having any caffeine, but sometimes a little coke & Tylenol will at least take the edge off enough for me to rest better. I miss good drugs.
I had an appt yesterday with my OB. I'm super sad to leave him (we're moving this weekend assuming everything goes smoothly with closing on Friday), but he was really reassuring that I'm a good candidate for a VBAC. I got to hear the heartbeat-in the 150s this time.

Oh, and we announced on FB yesterday, so I'm officially all public now and can literally let my belly hang out.
The first pic had a caption about how the Lil' Dudes were excited to announce that thy would be the only twins in the family and that they'd be rolling big-brother style in Jan. the second pic was captioned, "Elliot's still in shock over the news." -
@Mrs. Blue: I love that picture of Elliot! It is the perfect picture of both of them for a caption contest. I'm going to have to switch doctors when I move, too, and I am sad to leave mine (though she does have her faults).

Anyone else not announcing on social media? I didn't directly announce last time and I don't plan on it this time. I realized I hate telling people I'm pregnant because all the attention is on me. If I wait until birth there is still a ton of attention, but it is all directed at the baby and not me, so that is my preference as far as acquaintances go. If they find out, it will be because of an interaction they had with me IRL or through the grapevine.

@Radish: Ehhh, we haven't decided yet. I do want to put something on Instagram, but that's a much smaller (and more personal) pool of people in my case. We're not sure yet how we feel about Facebook. My husband keeps saying he feels very protective of my belly.
(For the record, our announcement won't have us in it either way, haha. We'll exploit our dogs, as usual!)

We made it "Facebook official" last week, and it's really nice to not be keeping it a secret any more. We have a lot of family/friends spread across the country so I figured that was the easiest way to share with all of them.

@Radish: We announced yesterday. DH and I both have large families and don't see everyone often enough for a private announcement. I'd rather just announce a baby on social media but living internationally changed that up a bit.

My midwife sorted out my scan
We get to see this little one for the first time on the 21st. I'm really nervous because I have a massive fear that there just won't be anything there but at the same time, these next 12 days just can't go fast enough!

Had a good visit today. The ultrasound tech was having lots of fun, as I guess they don't normally do scans around this time, she was saying typically 8, 12 and then 20. Anyways she got some really stinking cute shots. As well as checking the goods. There was a nub, but she couldn't be certain what kind of nub it was! Next appointment is 7/24 for quick heart rate, then again August 20th for our anatomy scan! I was really hoping they would let me have my anatomy scan in 4 weeks as I'll be 18 weeks, but they said no, has to be at least 20 weeks
oh well! Hope the other ladies with appointments today had good visits!

Found out today that my NT scan is Friday morning! Hoping for a good nub shot!
