@Happygal: luckily he only had to stay in the hospital for two days and no nights. All the other precautions we have to take at home. His stomach bug is also getting better. I hope the quiet weekend will help him get well soon.
Wishing everyone a nice weekend!

So happy to see so many ladies about to have their NT scans! Can't wait to see how they all turn out!
I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and am still waiting for the second trimester energy burst. I think that traveling (week 13) and starting my new job full-time (week 14) really put me behind. I'm definitely less tired than I was, but it builds throughout the week and so by Friday afternoon (aka right now) it's all I can do to keep my eyes open until 5pm! We're having dinner with some friends tonight and I"m pretty certain we're going to have to come home at like 9. Sheesh. Nobody wants a dinner guest passed out on their couch.

@Pumuckl: Hope he feels better soon!
@mfa_lady: hahaha I agree! I don't have that energy burst and I was super sick yesterday. I haven't had any cravings but more aversions lol. Enjoy your dinner tonight!

so tired of vomiting
ugh. we went out for our wedding anniversary on Tuesday and I enjoyed Olive Garden...til we got home. violently ill
whyyyyy!
my DD and I were also in a car accident yesterday. not at fault, everything is covered and everyone is okay! thank god. I have a rental for a couple weeks, a brand new chevy suv which is kind of fun!! i've never had a car newer than 10 years old my OB said since I found HR with my doppler and wasn't spotting that I didn't need to see them.

@sorrycharlie: I'm with you on the vomiting front. I'm just so sick of not knowing when and where it's going to happen.

@sorrycharlie: @MrsHansen82: Sorry ladies. I hope it goes away soon! I have escaped vomiting this whole pregnancy so far... pretty sure I just jinxed myself.

@Happygal: hearing the heartbeat is so amazing
@Pumuckl: hope you lo feels better soon!
@sorrycharlie: sorry you're still getting sick and about the car accident But I'm glad everyone is ok!

@sorrycharlie: So sorry about the car accident and all of the vomiting! I'm feeling your pain,
@MrsHansen82: Ugh it's the worst not knowing when. I have a pretty good idea but sometimes, like last night, it can sneak up on me.

: @namaste: Its doubly frustrating when people keep telling me it should be over by now. Or when they suggest ginger ale and crackers. I'm like yeah not helping. I did have a couple good days, but it seems to always be followed by a really bad one.
@radish: You lucky duck! Have you been nauseous at all?
nectarine / 2079 posts
@MrsHansen82: Yes, from my BFP to Week 11 every evening if not all day. It has been much better over the last week, just no actual vomiting.

@mfa_lady: I feel the same way about lack of energy. Everyone says you feel great in the second trimester but I feel more tired than ever.
Anyone else dealing with heartburn? I've never had heartburn before in my life except now.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@pmrlady: I haven't had a problem with heartburn but probably because I take Prevacid daily for chronic heartburn anyway. I'm sure it would be wicked if I stopped taking it though.
persimmon / 1481 posts
@Radish: Sometimes it seems like the constant nausea is worse than vomiting because at least you feel better afterward for a little while.
blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts
@pmrlady: mine is already bad. With my first, it started mid-way and didn't stop til C was born. I have found taking a Pepcid ac before I consume anything in the morning (even water) helped tremendously and my doc suggested it as pregnancy safe

So I'm pretty sure I felt the baby move a couple times this weeks Both times it was after I had laid down in bed, and I could sort of feel something going on, but I figured it was too early to be baby. (this is my first and I'm 15 weeks)
Then I was talking to a friend, and she said the first time she felt baby moving, it felt like "jello sloshing around" and that's exactly what it felt like for me!
All the descriptions I'd read of flutters and bubbles had me expecting something totally different. Can't wait till I can feel baby on a more regular basis!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@charmed: that is so exciting!! I felt my first around 16 weeks, but didn't know that's what it was for sure til another week or so. it felt a little like normal gas bubbles moving around, or being gently poked!

Had my nt scan on Friday. Everything is great. :). My official due date is now 1/27.
Sorry to so many of you have morning stickiness!! I am part of the club. Coupled with GD is hard. Last time ginger ale and crackers helped a tiny bit but I can not do that now. I go with hot tea now with toast and cheese. Sometimes I can not keep that down. I already lost 12 lbs so far.
Still excited about LO 2 though the NT scan made it more real and s/he was moving around so cutely!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@MrsHansen82: Yes! Please, I'm glad you had a vomit-free pregnancy at 16 weeks now leave me alone lol
@pmrlady: I haven't had it all which has surprised me because I would get it sometimes before.
@charmed: I'm still feeling small movements every now again. It's always so exciting!
@Raindrop: Congrats on a healthy scan!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@charmed: Aw, so fun! I'm 16+1 and I have felt something twice, but am still not sure if it was baby.
Our anatomy scan is officially less than 4 weeks away, and I can hardly believe it! A family member commented on my "little belly" today and it made me really happy, because I'm kind of ready to be showing more. I know I'll totally eat those words in the third tri, haha. But I haven't seen or heard baby in three weeks and I'm ready for an update! We have another checkup appointment (I'll get to hear the doppler) on July 31. I feel like it's ages away!

@Raindrop: glad your scan went well!
@cheesehead: @Snowdrop: good luck at your appointments today!

@cheesehead: @Snowdrop: How did your appointments go?

@charmed: @Raindrop: thanks! Appt went good. Heard the heartbeat, in the mid 140's. Nothing too exciting to report. Still feeling pretty crappy, but hopefully the nausea passes soon.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@cheesehead: Yay! Glad to hear! Congrats.
Old wives tales say 140 = boy.
Greater than 150 = girl
Less than 150 = boy
I will say my first LO which is a boy constantly had heartbeat over 160. But I thought it would be fun to say this since you mentioned the heartbeat.

NT scan itself went great, got a pic of baby sucking its thumb service at the hospital was terrible and they want to put me under a consultant for high risk because I had help conceiving however they dont have a clue about the treatment i received so i am refusing!! Long story though and dont have the energy at the moment. So happy baby is growing healthy and strong!
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@Snowdrop: Good to hear!!
That's weird that they want to put you in high risk only b/c you had some help conceiving. There should be a better reason for that!! Though does being put on high risk mean you get more appointments and get checked on more? I might be okay with that. Haha.
pear / 1846 posts
@Raindrop: high risk would mean a very medicalised birth with a high chance of intervention unfortunately. It is stupid and they dont know what they are talking about. They asked me if i could provide a graph of expected progesterone levels for different stages! Erm yeah... if you need to ask me to provide that kind of info you can get lost!
persimmon / 1177 posts
@Raindrop: glad the appointment went well!
@Snowdrop: bummer about the hospital, but I'm glad you got to see your baby!!

@Snowdrop: Wow okay yeah that's super lame... they can totally get lost!!

@cheesehead: Feel better soon!
@Snowdrop: So glad the baby is doing well!
Ugh so many migraines and lots of nausea this week. So ready for my appointment on Wednesday because I don't think I can take another day of migraines.
Hope you ladies are doing well!

How is everyone doing?
@MapleMoose: @namaste: @Radish: How were your appointments?
I was sick last week (not just morning sickness) and I'm finally feeling better. So now I'm just dealing with morning sickness. I sometimes look at this pregnancy calendar and it says that morning sickness should be gone by now... lies! Hehe. Oh well.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Raindrop: I had to reschedule!
The appointment will be on the 30th. So sorry you were sick, I started to get a cough the other day but thankfully, it went away. Hah, I hear you on the morning sickness lies.
nectarine / 2079 posts
My appointment went well. My doctor decided to do an ultrasound for fun instead of a doppler so I got to see baby again. My 16 week appointment is Aug 20th and my anatomy scan is Sept 10th! She suggested combining the two, but then I did the math and realized she was going off my LMP due date which would be way too early for the anatomy scan and she won't let me go 6 weeks without seeing her. Boo.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@namaste: Bummers! my next appointment is on the 31st. It's only a week away!
@Radish: wow good picture! I love when I can finally make out the baby and it's not just a blob. So cute!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@Radish: Awww!! How lovely!
@Raindrop: Yes, I'm so ready to get back and get an update. Yay for us!
