Appointment went well this morning. HB in the 140s again, measuring right on track, scheduled my anatomy scan and hit the 16 week mark today. Ever since I hit 12 weeks, this pregnancy feels like it's flying.

    @Radish: thanks lady!

@charmed: my anatomy scan is August 20, and my next appointment is August 27. thanks!

@oliviaoblivia: I think our favorites are Anna for a girl and Benjamin for a boy. We're doing the same nursery that we did for J, who is being upgraded to a "big boy" nautical motif in his room - we're going with a Peter Rabbit/woodland theme for LO#2's nursery. I already have the bedding, the clock, some figurines, the paint color I love. It's gender neutral but not very common, kind of an old-fashioned look... which is just my speed

@oliviaoblivia: our move.....ohhhh, the never ending move. I've complained about how we've been dragging it out, but I'm actually grateful for the extra time b/c I don't have the same stamina as I used to, especially in the summer heat. We have stuff in our old house and boxes to unpack in our new place. How about you?

@keepcalmcarrie: good to hear you had a good appointment! Things are starting to feel like they're moving quickly for me as well. I remember being so eager to get into the 2nd trimester, and now I'm close to 15 weeks!

@sorrycharlie: I'm so sorry you're going through such a rough patch! How are you feeling about things?

@charmed: boring is good! What are some of your nursery ideas?

@Mrshansen82: no fair! Morning sickness is supposed to get better in the 2nd trimester, right? I hope it goes away quickly for you.

We had a good NT scan last week. I was happily surprised to not have a transvaginal ultrasound for once--you get so many of those when going through infertility treatments that I've just come to expect them! I started laughing as soon as the baby showed up. It was rocking and rolling all over the place and I didn't expect to see that. I'm glad I didn't know all the other things they would be checking for (heart chambers and blood flow and limb length and so much more) b/c it didn't give me any time to obsess about what might be wrong.

How are 2nd trimester symptoms going for everyone? I was hitting a wall around 4:00 everyday, but I noticed that has almost passed. I was feeling crummy about once a day, too, but that's gotten better as well.

As for nursery plans--we have a small room that's painted off white with built in bookshelves. I like the look of simple nurseries, like Lena Corwin's, and will probably go for something like that. And we're all over the map for names! I thought about being team green, but my husband said it would be good for us to narrow names down.

Hey, guys! I just caught up on reading. We've been drowning in moving, a quick vacation, and DH starting a new job. I assume that someday I will actually unpack in our new house, but I have no idea when.

I'm still working on getting into a new OB after our move. I've been going around and around trying to get the old OB's medical records sent to the OB I'm hoping to see, so I still officially have no OB and no appointments or scans.

As for names, all of you who want girl names hit me up. I seem to only think of girl names and only make boys! I think we'll go for Rosalie if it's a girl and *maybe* Gable nn:Gabe for a boy, but we're not thinking about it much until we know the gender. As for nursery, same thing....when we know the gender, I'll start thinking, but I just can't deal with anything else right now.

Our boys are at their grandparents for a whole week right now, and I'm dying over here. I was so not ready for them to be gone that long, but we needed a babysitter and they wanted to keep them, so you do what you gotta do, I guess. Pregnancy is going so much sloooower with them not here to chase around.

@keepcalmcarrie: glad your appointment went well!

@Mrs. Blue: hope you find time to unpack and that you are able to get into a new OB soon.
Is this the first time your boys have been away from you overnight?

    @Happygal: cute pic!
I'm thinking neutrals/ metallics (gray or silver + gold) for our nursery. The walls are currently painted gray and the floor is medium brown hardwood. I'm looking for white furniture, and maybe a gray glider.
I don't want it to have too much of a "theme", but it's hard to find affordable nursery items that aren't covered in animals or cars or something else!

@keepcalmcarrie: love that idea for a nursery!

@Happygal: Lovely pic! Just lots of migraines in the second trimester. I get sick about once a week and I'm pretty energetic until 6am-8am. I get up early (4am) so by 6, I'm pretty drained daily. I'm still having a sugar aversion. Gray is the main color for the nursery and we're trying out paint swatches right now. I've been buying small things (laundry hamper, etc.)!

@Mrs. Blue: Happy OB searching! Unpacking will happen eventually, just take your time.

Today's appointment went great! Heartbeat was 142 and baby is exactly where the movement is so I'm glad I was right. My anatomy scan and next appointment will both be on August 27th! Feels like so long to figure out what it'll be. Can't find the onesie I bought at the Gap but it was gray and said something like I love my daddy as a gift for DH since he was having a crappy day.

All you ladies are doing moves right now! I'm about to join you. We live in a decent sized one bedroom rIght now, but we both really want a yard to play with the LO in. We would also love to have a true nursery, not just a nook for the baby. So come The end of August, we'll be house hunting. This means increasing our commute by quite a lot since houses with yards in this area are way over budget. I'm okay with that though because I need a more comfortable house. We don't have a dishwasher or washer/dryer, so we spend a ton of time at the laundry mat and standing over the sink doing dishes.

I think my nausea is slowly fading. I've had a few mornings recently with no vomiting so that is a definite victory!

@Mrs. Blue: I would live some girl name ideas! We can't agree on anything. Right now the ones we like are Leigh, Liv, Paige and Stella

@namaste: we're on the same appointment schedule! I went today too and had a similar appointment. I managed to talk them into sending me to the MFM for the anatomy scan on Aug 18th though because I suck at waiting

Urgh, went shopping for a gift for my friend's new baby and everything is literally pink or blue! Why don't they make baby clothes in other colours? It is so samey and cloying! Ended up just getting a yellow romper (only one I could find) a Sophie la giraffe and books as it is a second baby of the same sex anyway so lots of clothes already.

In other news I have my anatomy scan on 12th september! Can't wait to start finding out what people are having soon!

@namaste: and @bhbee: glad your appointments went great, and hooray for scheduling anatomy scans!

@Snowdrop: totally hear you on the pink or blue baby clothes And seriously, what is wrong with making a solid colored outfit that isn't covered in butterflies or cars?

Now that we have so many anatomy scans coming up, would you all be interested in doing some sort of gender prediction thread? Maybe list a bunch of old wives tales and put what they predict, along with what you think it will be?

  13. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@bhbee: hahaha I almost wanted to make a pouty face but the same lady who takes payments also schedules so I didn't think she would have cared. Yay for you!!!

@Snowdrop: It's so bad with older babies. That's why I like to browse places like Marshall's where I can find more variety of designer options (for cheaper) and it isn't so pink and blue there!

@charmed: Would love a gender prediction thread!

@Happygal: Such a sweet baby pic! Happy you had a great appointment

@charmed: ugh, I know, it's hard to find inexpensive nursery decor that looks understated. My MIL actually gifted us our Peter Rabbit crib bedding from PB Kids for LO#1's baby shower, so if you find something you love that's a little pricey, maybe mention it if family is looking for a nice present. Restoration Hardware has beautiful baby linens!

@Snowdrop: i know, the pink/blue overkill drives me insane. J has very blue eyes so he wears a lot of blue, but it would be the same with a girl if she had his peepers (just with a bow or something). As a TG-er, I had to comb through a lot to find cream/yellow/green newborn and 0-3 mo outfits. I second @namaste:'s suggestion - check out Marshalls/TJMaxx.

Everyone has such beautiful names in mind!

Just got back to work after my appointment--all looks good! Heartbeat was 149, which is way lower than it was in the first tri (high 160s at 8 and 12 week USs and 13 week checkup). My midwife assured me all my aches and pains are normal, and told me not to feel bad about taking a Tylenol here and there if my headaches keep killing me.

Now onto the anatomy scan countdown! Only 2 weeks and a day left!

@mfa_lady: Good to hear your appointment went well.

Just got back from mine. Everything is going well heartbeat was 155 (lower than normal (170)) but that's okay. My GD is getting better it seems. I have pretty much gave up on my fasting number (aka trying to control it) and it actually got better! My OB was surprised and thinks maybe I was just too stressed out about it before.

My next appointments are on the same day the Anatomy Scan and my next OB are on Sept 8th. Hopefully we can find out the sex.

I had my appointment today too HR was 153, my dr guessed a girl! I'm set up with a specialist for next week for my rhinitis, she wants me to check in with a chiro for my back and hip pain - but the chiropractor terrifies me!! I've never been.

my anatomy scan is also same day as next appt, Aug 28! sooo far awayyyy

@sorrycharlie: You know I saw your other thread and had to look up what rhinitis is. I have never been officially diagnosed but I pretty much had a cough all through my first pregnancy and I have a bit of a cough through this one. I pretty much just had cough drops in my pockets all the time.

I do remember asking my ex-OB about that before she left the practice and she said oh that's normal in pregnancy to cough.

I wonder now if that was rhinitis... Well anyways good luck with that! Sound like a pain!

Hey guys. Glad everyone is doing well and having good appointments.

My anatomy scan is in 10 days BUT my Ob told me that she will be in the hospital tomorrow and that I could come by for a quick ultrasound to see the sex! We are taking her up on that offer. I am 18 weeks so hoping that she will be able to tell the gender tomorrow.

So glad that everyone is doing well! Sorry I haven't kept up.

My next appointment is on September 4th...we're stretching out the usual appointment interval by a week so that we can get back on track to get the anatomy scan done at the same time. The NT scan and blood tests returned low risk, considering my borderline AMA.

I still don't have much of a bump, and look more "thick" (aka "fat") than pregnant. Bleh.

(Although, I nearly outed myself, because one of the most awesome people in the office was using a lotion that was driving this super attuned pregnancy nose crazy. It smelled like sticking my entire head in a honey jar, Pooh-style. Ugh!)

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I have my 16 week anatomy scan on Friday and then the regular anatomy scan on September 8th. Hopefully we can find out the sex next week. I haven't really been feeling a ton of movement but heard the heartbeat on Tuesday, so that is reassuring. I'm in the phase where I can't feel anything but morning sickness is mostly gone, so I have no darn clue how the baby is doing. I'm not obviously showing yet but have broken out the maternity shorts which are heavenly. Like @Espion: I am just looking fat so far. Sigh.

@pmrlady: keep us posted! I think you'll be the first on here to find out the sex, right?

Is anyone going to be team green? I'm a planny-planner so I will def be finding out. We have a couple girl names that we like (Juliette is probably our top choice, I think someone mentioned Anna on here too, we think that is pretty) but no boys names! I was thinking Bennett, Elliott, Owen...but we don't feel strongly about any of them. this is so hard.
