@MrsTiger: It's so crazy, isn't it? One of those things, for me anyway, that I always heard about pre-pregnancy and now am like "Oooohhh, yeah, it's really true!" Haha.

@mfa_lady: orrrrrr, maybe the baby is letting you know that it's really good! Baby could be a big fan.
Love seeing all the ! I wonder if this means we're going to get some
soon to even things out.

@sorrycharlie: I really hope you get to avoid an ENT trip. I'm sorry it has been a rough summer, but you've soldiered through it well!

congratulations to all that found out they are having little ladies! so exciting! i have a feeling we will have a string of boy announcements in the next few weeks.
@namaste: thanks! hopefully baby will be healthy and will cooperate so we can see if it is a boy or a girl. i kind of feel like it'll be a girl, but my mommy instinct was dead wrong with #1!

@Pumuckl: and @Gigi2: CONGRATS on your little girls
Look at all the baby girls that are coming in January!! I wonder who is going to have the first boy.
@mfa_lady: maybe the baby really likes coke

@Radish: amen. I have been up for a couple hours and it is like this every morning. Me, just stewing in bed being mad about being awake. Grrrr.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: I agree. Baby movements are my new favorite thing as well.
Ugh I have a cold and I'm wiped out. I was really tired yesterday so I worked mostly from bed and last night, I started sneezing. I hope it passes quickly. Colds in the summer are no fun.

Anyone else getting killer headaches? They're totally putting me out of commission. At the urging of my midwife, I finally bought some Tylenol last weekend. I've taken two since then (one the day I bought them and one today) and I feel guilty every time....but a girl's gotta function. Ugh!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: Yep! I get terrible migraines so I mostly keep the house dark.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@mfa_lady: so sorry! I have seen the advice to drink more water--is that a possibility or something that might help?
I developed eczema a few years ago, and I have felt guilty when it gets too bad to ignore and I put on the steroid cream. But like you said, a girl's gotta function!

i had my early anatomy scan this morning and its another GIRL for us and for our due date board!! i am so excited! baby looked healthy and was moving around, waving hello, sucking on her hands. my heart is bursting with love
here's a photo of my little lady and the soles of her feet!

@Happygal: With the boys, my due date thread was all girls, so I had to even it out with two boys. I'm pretty sure I'll be adding to the blue this time, too.

@Pumuckl: @SleepyMonkey: Congrats on your little girls!! Bows for everyone!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@SleepyMonkey: Aww! What a perfect picture! Congrats!
@Mrs. Blue: What makes you think it's a boy this time? Just a hunch?
Everyone keeps saying they think we're having a girl, which has made me hope that they're right! But I think b/c all my sisters have boys, I'm expecting a boy, too.
I'm having a tough time with clothing. Maternity pants don't fit quite right b/c I don't fill them out, but other bottoms are too tight to be comfortable. Anyone else in this situation?
And for the working ones, when did you tell your boss? I was going to wait until 20 weeks, but I don't know if I can (or want to) conceal my pregnancy for that much longer!
grapefruit / 4006 posts
thanks everyone!
@Happygal: can you wear those belly bands with your regular pants? i announced this time right after my NT scan, but with my first, i waited until after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. i had started to show but i wear suits to work, so the blazers made it easy to hide.

@sleepymonkey: yay for your girl!!!
@happygal: I'm not showing to the outside world yet, but decided to tell my bosses this week at 16 weeks. I was also hoping to wait until 20, like you! I have a huge caseload (lawyer) and all will have to be transferred before my leave and it seems every female in my office is pregnant at the same time! Bosses freaking out...not a fun reaction, but glad I told them now rather than waited. I think they would have been angry! Good luck to you whatever you decide to do!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Happygal: I told my boss at nine weeks. Last time I told her at five. There are only two of us right now so my mat leave will really effect the company so I figure it's better to fess up as soon as possible. Also, my bump is huge, she'd have guessed it anyway.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Happygal: I told my boss at 8 weeks last time and 12 this time. I'm the only one that does my job so I knew they would need time to find someone. Also, I had so many appointments and our office is so small that it really wasn't something I could keep a secret. Honestly, both times I have dreaded telling work, but both times I have felt so relieved when I didn't have to hide it at work anymore.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@mfa_lady: I've been getting bad ones. I mentioned to my ob and she wasn't concerned. I take a Tylenol if it's bad or have some caffeine. Don't feel guilty about Tylenol! It'll help a bit

@SleepyMonkey: congrats! Another girl on the board
@Happygal: Could you buy a couple pairs of normal pants in a bigger size? Might be nice to have for postpartum too.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@MrsTiger: We're next on the anatomy scan list! EEEEE! Come on, next week!
@sorrycharlie: I've been doing caffeine, too. I just drink a cup or two of tea a day (and sometimes a Coke, hehe) and it seems to do the trick. All these pregnancy ailments!

Anybody want to do a survey to jump start this thread again? I was reading through my due date board for #1 and poached it!
How far along? 16w5d
Total weight gain: 1-2 pounds...on the same track as #1
Maternity clothes? bottoms, no tops yet. blousy shirts are in style now, so I can wear a lot of normal tops, but maternity shorts are the best! i also got a pair of gap skinny black pants for work, and they look cute and are so comfy.
Stretch marks? none yet. i didn't get them with #1 though.
Sleep: wake up to pee around midnight, wake up at 5:30/6am naturally, but still so tired and can't go back to sleep. so annoying. apparently this is exactly the same as with #1 (but i conveniently forgot about it until reading my old due date board).
Best moment this week: finding out the sex of our baby girl!
Miss Anything? wine. i also miss having a normal appetite.
Food cravings: tea with milk and honey, popsicles, burgers with lots of ketchup.
Anything making you queasy or sick: warm water, anything in the onion/garlic/scallion/etc family, burgers about an hour after i eat them.
Symptoms: left hip pain, sporadic nausea, sore boobs, heartburn, fatigue.
Looking forward to: not even related to this pregnancy, but our vacation to Disney in October!
Next appointment(s): Aug 19th (regular with ob/gyn) and Sep 5th (20w anatomy scan)
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@SleepyMonkey: Fun idea!
How far along? 19+1
Total weight gain: I'd say 4 - 5 pounds... but I don't have a scale at home so I'm not totally sure since I don't have a baseline weight!
Maternity clothes? Have been in maternity bottoms (with a couple of exceptions) since about 13/14 weeks. LOVE THEM. I'm finally picking up a couple of tops here and there, just so I don't have to buy a ton at a time later on.
Stretch marks? None yet. Crossing my fingers!
Sleep: Pretty normal, aside from the fact that I want to be sleeping all the time. Haha! I do have to be careful about how much water I drink at night if I want to get decent sleep, though.
Best moment this week: Feeling baby move for the first time!
Miss Anything? WINE. Oh, how I miss wine.
Food cravings: Nothing too specific. I did go on a BLT kick about a week ago, though, and DH made them for us three nights in a row. Ha!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really, but eggs were a big aversion until a couple weeks ago.
Symptoms: So tired, all the time. Terrible headaches. And some round ligament pain when I move quickly/sneeze/etc. Also HUGE boobs, if that counts as a symptom.
Looking forward to: Friday! (Our anatomy scan.)
Next appointment(s): Thursday I have a regular appointment, Friday we have our anatomy scan!!
persimmon / 1096 posts
@SleepyMonkey: Great idea!
How far along? 17 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain: -3 lbs at my last appointment. Same as last time. I'll probably break even around 19 or 20 weeks.
Maternity clothes? Just one pair of shorts so far. All my stretchy pants feel tight, but I don't want to buy more maternity stuff and my maternity clothes from last time are definitely for fall/winter weather.
Stretch marks? None yet. I have them on my hips from puberty and my boobs from breastfeeding, but I managed to avoid them on my stomach while pregnant with J, so hopefully they stay away again!
Sleep: Okay. Wake up around 4 AM to pee every night, but no trouble falling back asleep and I'm probably averaging 8 hours.
Best moment this week: DH took J out to run errands yesterday and surprised me with lilies (said J picked them out) when they got back. That was really sweet.
Miss Anything? My nightly glass of wine. Did I mention that I asked my OB about the *occasional* glass and he said it's okay? God, that was a happy moment. I've had two small ones while pregnant with LO#2, and had maybe 5 while pregnant with J, but I still wanted to clear my conscience and ask him for peace of mind. He said once every so often is fine. I'm thinking maybe once a month I will treat myself
Food cravings: Edy's Outshine bars, sourdough toast, chili
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just smells - garbage, mildew, diapers. I mean, all of those would gross me out anyway, but my sense of smell is still in overdrive. I wash our towels and two days later they smell like mildew, it's driving me crazy.
Symptoms: Left hip and lower back pain, sore boobs, headaches, crazy chin acne. Ahh, the pregnancy glow.
Looking forward to: Hearing one way or another from a recruiter if DH is getting a job offer this week. I think it has to be this week. It's out of town and he was one of two finalists. The salary and job would be great, the new town would be kind of a bummer. But I just want to know, because we're getting pretty close to the halfway mark and the idea of moving is making me nervous.
Next appointment(s): Aug 20th (anatomy scan) and August 27th (OB appt)
nectarine / 2079 posts
How far along? 15w 2d
Total weight gain: I'd guess around 5 lbs, but I haven't been keeping track of weight
Maternity clothes? I wear maternity shorts every day, but mostly regular tops.
Stretch marks? The billion from LO1...
Sleep: I've had some insomnia. If I barely wake up I have to pee where before I could just go back to sleep.
Best moment this week: Things moving forward on purchasing our house.
Miss Anything? My energy.
Food cravings: They change day to day, but definitely have more cravings for fried food than normal.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not in particular. LOs diapers
Symptoms: Mostly just low energy and random cramps and muscle pains.
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex. Only have a whole dang month to go.
Next appointment(s): Aug 18th regular appt and Sept 10 anatomy scan.
persimmon / 1096 posts
@Radish: Toddler diapers are just the worst right now. It's a new olfactory surprise every day.

@SleepyMonkey: great idea!
How far along? 18w 1s
Total weight gain: um a lot. Probably 10 lbs at least! Hoping it slows down
Maternity clothes? Completely, since this is #2 my belly popped out ridiculously quick!
Stretch marks? Still just the ones from LO1
Sleep: just waking up to pee but otherwise I love my bed!
Best moment this week: I was in a wedding and survived the very long weekend / day of it and had fun
Miss Anything? My energy too
Food cravings: Sweets and fast food. Why couldn't I crave salad??
Anything making you queasy or sick: luckily no
Symptoms: Random sharp cramps when I get up too fast
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex TODAY!
Next appointment(s): this morning and Aug 25 regular appointment
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Radish: "Missing anything? My energy." YES. This. 1000x this. I feel you, girl.
persimmon / 1313 posts
@SleepyMonkey: Congratulations! How exciting!
@MrsTiger: Sending good thoughts for your scan today!
Total weight gain: 1-2 pounds, depending on the day of the week
Maternity clothes? Jeans and shorts and a couple of dresses. I've only worn the jeans and one dress though. So comfy.
Stretch marks? Just the ones from puberty.
Sleep: I wake up to pee like once an hour. Sleep has never come easy for me.
Best moment this week: Goodbye brunch with my friend who's moving to NYC and observing how much my baby likes to move.
Miss Anything? Long workouts.
Food cravings: Nothing. I feel like I am still eating something different at every meal
Anything making you queasy or sick: Cold food, bad smells (living in FL means you get the worst whiffs of BO. It's awful.), anything that's too sweet.
Symptoms: hip pain and migraines
Looking forward to: Our anatomy scan which seems like it'll never get here!
Next appointment(s): Aug 27th - Anatomy scan and then regular appointment right after.
persimmon / 1177 posts
@SleepyMonkey: good idea!
How far along? 18w2d
Total weight gain: 5 lbs, as of my last appointment
Maternity clothes? Yep. The hair tie trick worked on my pants until about two weeks ago. All my regular shirts have been too short for awhile due to my giant boobs
Stretch marks? Just the ones I've had.
Sleep: Wish I could just sleep on my stomach like before, but with my bump nest pillow I've been pretty comfortable.
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby move more regularly.
Miss Anything? Wine. I wouldn't mind a cold cut sub either.
Food cravings: Cereal, and vinegar-y/sour things (which is not something I've ever really wanted before.)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really making me sick, but I can't stand the smell of smoke- bonfires, cigarettes, blowing out a candle- drives me crazy.
Symptoms: Peeing a lot and super sense of smell. Also, my boobs won't stop growing.
Looking forward to: Our wedding anniversary this weekedna dn the anatomy scan in two weeks.
Next appointment(s): 8/26 - anatomy scan.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
Wow, so many girls coming in January. That's pretty crazy.
How far along? 16w 6d
Total weight gain: 2kg (so about 4.5lbs I think)
Maternity clothes? Oh yes, jeans and skirts and slowly but surely tops too. This belly is getting big...
Stretch marks? No new ones so far.
Sleep: Not really too much of an issue. Sometimes it's a little lighter than "normal" but overall I cannot complain. I guess chasing a rambunctious toddler around all day makes me tired enough.
Best moment this week: At brunch yesterday little B was playing with another toddler and although they couldn't communicate (at least not with words) they made up a game of catch and played happily and both of them were giggling all the time. It just made my heart melt and make me more exciting to seeing him with his little sister.
Miss Anything? My energy but it is slowly getting better.
Food cravings: Nothing. I'm eating normally.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My toddler's diapers. Wow, just wow...
Symptoms: Lack of energy, crazy muffled hearing. I hear like I have a cold for weeks now - seriously the most annoying pregnancy symptom I have.
Looking forward to: Our yearly vacation that we're going to take in Sept/Oct... We need the break.
Next appointment(s): Sept 4th - Anatomy scan
