    How far along? 17w2d

Total weight gain: Way more than I wanted to at this point. I think between 6-8 depending on the day.

    Maternity clothes? For sure.

Stretch marks? Just left overs from last time.

Sleep: Is something I miss. I'm having to get up multiple times a night to go to the restroom, and we're still dealing with blasted molars, so the boys haven't been sleeping as good as normal.

Best moment this week: Nothing is really standing out from this week as far as the baby goes, but I have an appointment tomorrow after 5 long weeks, so I'm excited to hear baby's HB again and meet my new OB. Last week the best part was feeling more movement.

Miss Anything? I'm still a little low on energy.

Food cravings: Fruit and cake. At least one thing is healthy finally, right??

Anything making you queasy or sick: I still can't drink coffee. It's one of my saddest pregnancy symptoms.

Symptoms: Mostly just lots of fatigue. I also have more crampiness and aching on my right side in the abdomen and back than last time.

Looking forward to: Our doctor's appointment and getting my anatomy scan scheduled.

    Next appointment(s): Tomorrow morning.

How far along? 20w0d ( by LMP, my ob scheduled a repeat c section for Dec. 30)
Total weight gain: still negative but I had some spare chub to start with.
Maternity clothes? Yeah for a loooong time.
Stretch marks? With DD#1 I noticed a stretch mark on my hip the morning I poas. The day before I tested with this pregnancy I noticed another one and thought I was being silly. Turns out I get stretch marks announcing pregnancy. No new ones since 4w but I'm sure some will join the party. No big deal. Having beautiful children is a heck of a lot better than wearing a bikini a few times a year.
Sleep: after months of insomnia, I've slept through the night for the past couple weeks. It was very needed.
Best moment this week: it's been a week, bit finding out another little girl is going to be on my life makes me weep happy tears.
Miss Anything? Thigh gap. I have some rock star chub rub on my thighs.
Food cravings: cream cheese and strawberries. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry cream cheese...mmmmmm!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I had a thing against bone in chicken for a while but it's gone now thankfully.
Symptoms: sciatica and round ligament pain. Ouch! And heartburn, lot of heartburn.
Looking forward to: having my house in order. We've had a few set backs, namely the electrical wasn't updated properly so we've had to rewire the house and are now left with a crazy amount of holes to patch. Because the electrical was out of date we've had to push back the kitchen installation so we've been camping in a construction site for two weeks now. So frustrating.
    Next appointment(s): September 3rd

@oliviaoblivia: Haha I miss my thigh gap too! That made me laugh and is so true

@oliviaoblivia: @MrsTiger: I miss every bit of tone on my whole body. I haven't gained a ton of weight, but I'm so....flabby. I guess eating Spaghettios and laying on the couch whenever you're not at work will do that to a girl....

  6. Cupcake

    apricot / 495 posts

    How far along? 19W
    Total weight gain: 2lbs
Maternity clothes? All bottoms, only a few tops
Stretch marks? Just my old ones
Sleep: I'm sleeping, but it's not quality sleep. Go to sleep exhausted, wake up exhausted.
Best moment this week: Felt baby from the outside! baby cakes felt it too. He looked at me with a funny look, I think he was thinking, what the hell was that?!
    Miss Anything? nothing yet!
Food cravings: No food cravings, but craving DH. OMG anyone else going through this? All I can think about somedays. I feel like a 16 year old boy.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I tried to eat a chicken cheese steak yesterday, but the roll smelled funny to me so I couldn't eat it..... everyone at work was laughing at me because they said it smelled like bread.
Symptoms: having some sciatic issues already. If I get up get up to quick my ligaments feel like they're going to snap!
    Looking forward to: Anatomy scan!
    Next appointment(s): August 20th!

@Cupcake: I forget, are you finding out the sex at your anatomy scan? Last time I was all over DH alllllll the time, and I've read that's a sign of a boy (extra testosterone in your system, or something like that). That's the only gender prediction sign I believe in, actually.

And if that's the case, then I'm expecting a little girl, because I am literally never in the mood this time around. Poor DH

  9. Cupcake

    apricot / 495 posts

@keepcalmcarrie: yup! We'll be finding out!

I had no interest in dh when I was pregs with DS ! Everything about this pregnancy is different than last time!

@Cupcake: Huh, I guess none of those gender prediction signs are accurate! This pregnancy is very different for me too. Can't wait to find out what you're having (our anatomy scan is the same day, but I'm Team Green so I'll live vicariously)

Wow people are having very low weight gain. I've already gained 12 lbs by 18 weeks, and am steadily gaining a pound a week. I'm hoping that I'll stay within the 30lb range by the end but now I'm worried that it's just gonna sky rocket.

For the second time moms did you stay within a pound per week later in pregnancy or does it really accelerate towards the end?

    How far along? 16W

Total weight gain: -12 lbs (was -13 lbs before my vacation last week and I gained 2 lbs then lost 1 lb :))

Maternity clothes? Just bottoms. Even in my last pregnancy I never got maternity tops because all my normal tops are tummy loose/friendly and since I tend to loose a ton of weight while pregnant it ends up being a larger size than what I should wear and works out for me.

Stretch marks? No new ones but I have a ton of sliver ones from my last kid.

Sleep: Good sleep. I only wake up about 2 times a week to pee in the middle of the night which isn't bad!

Best moment this week: Oh I found 100 calorie individually wrapped favored almonds which should will help in my GD snacking options.

Miss Anything? Being able to eat whatever I want without worrying about it.

Food cravings: No food cravings more like food avoidance. Everything looks terrible but carbs but I can't have too many carbs so that is my life.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The morning, I still throw up in the mornings. Strange smells. For a while just being in a bathroom made me throw up probably the cleaner smell in the bathroom. It still happens but less often usually after I eat too much which is rare.

Symptoms: Just morning sickness... really wish that goes away soonish but last pregnancy that didn't go away till about a month and half before giving birth. Totally forgot about that till I got pregnant again. Ha.

Looking forward to: Anatomy scan and finding out the sex.

    Next appointment(s): September 8th!

@pmrlady: with my first it I gained over a pound per week pretty steadily starting around week 17. I gained 30 lbs over 22 weeks, but netted 25 lbs overall since I lost 5 in the beginning. Everyone is different though, you might level off later in the pregnancy.

  17. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@pmrlady: My last pregnancy I lost like 20 lbs and gained 10 lb back near the end. I had pretty bad morning sickness and didn't want to eat for the first few months. The morning sickness didn't go away till about a 1.5 before giving birth and so during those last 6 weeks I gained 10 lbs pretty much.

This time I have GD (didn't have with the first) which is kind of forcing me to eat more and I have lost about 12 lbs so far. I'm not sure how this will go but I think I'll probably gain more overall.

I'm pretty overweight so my OB was not concerned at all. My aunt is pretty small and she gained 60 lbs but since she was so small to start her OB was not concerned at all either. She was able to loose all the weight she gained because of breastfeeding.

Everyone is different. I would only worry if you OB is concerned other than that your weight gain is probably healthy!

@pmrlady: Don't worry too much about weight gain. I gained quite a bit more in the first trimester with B and was glad in the end because I actually started loosing weight in the end. Since he was a little giant he sat up at my stomach right until the end and I got terrible heart burn so food wasn't really appealing.

Here's a link that tells you how much you should gain as a minimum, maximum and what the average is:

@Radish: Thanks for keeping the list up to date!

I have my 16 week appointment today and I am irrationally nervous. Not sure why but having horrible visions of terrible problems the whole past week. I am sure everything will be fine, but until I feel more movement, I just don't think I will ever relax.

  22. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: I was the EXACT same way when I went to my week 17 appointment. Totally freaking out (literally sweating before the midwife came in). I hadn't felt any movement at all at that point and just couldn't help being worried. But all was fine--and I'm sure it is for you, too! Will be thinking of you today.

@Mrs. Confetti: Oh no, I hate the pre-appointment anxiety. I always brace myself for bad news before the appointment and so far (knock on wood) I never got anything but good news. So you are not alone with being scared!

@Mrs. Confetti: I was the same way until I started feeling movement.

@Pumuckl: thanks, I'll try not to worry about it. At least now that I've reached the 5 month mark, I'm no longer self conscious about my very noticeable bump anymore.

  28. Meowkers

@Radish: Hi there. Sorry I haven't been on this board much. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with how fast the conversation moves and trying to catch up with it.

Everything is going well. We found out about a month ago that the baby is a GIRL. YAY. So excited! Last week, (18th week), I started to feel her kicking and now I'm feeling it more and more often. I absolutely love the feeling of those little kicks. My due date was moved up a few days to January 3, 2015. Next week is my detailed anatomy ultrasound. Of course as I get closer to it I'm starting to get the pre-appointment anxiety that some other ladies have mention.

  29. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: What time is your appointment? I get nervous, too! It took them a while to find the heartbeat and I was really trying to keep it together.

I had my first appt with my new OB today. He's very nice and was completely supportive of trying for a VBAC assuming everything is going okay, which made me really happy. Heartbeat was 140. My next appt is the same day as my anatomy scan: Sept. 10. I'm so bummed that I have to wait until almost 22 weeks.

  30. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@Mrs. Blue: Waiting sucks, but you are making me feel less lonely being one of the last to find out. We can count down to the 10th together.

@Meowkers: It is a fast moving thread, but feel free to jump in even if you haven't read it all! Exciting that you are getting some good movement now!

  31. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

    @keepcalmcarrie: Solidarity, sister.

    I'm on my phone, so:

Weight gain: yes, about 5 or 6 pounds

    Stretch marks: not so far

Maternity clothes: Not yet, but I had bought a lot of size 10 pants for work and they don't quite need to be unbuttoned yet.

Memorable moment: I can't think of anything. Not feeling a lot of movement yet. I'm 16 weeks, my placenta is anterior, and I have plenty of, uh, "padding" around my midsection, so I hope it's just that.

Miss anything: My body 15 pounds ago, but that's mostly post-partum from the last one.

    Food cravings: All the carbs.

Symptoms: I'm a lucky bunny. Really nothing. Same as last pregnancy.

Looking forward to...our next appointment in September. Anatomy scan!

@Meowkers: Congratulations on your girl! I have so much pre-appointment anxiety. Ugh

@Mrs. Confetti: I hope your appointment went well! Pre-appointment anxiety is the worst.

@Mrs. Blue: I'm glad your appointment was great! Ugh my anatomy scan is also a day before 22 weeks. I know your pain!

  34. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@Radish: @namaste: I'm glad to have the company in my suffering. I tried to convince DH that this meant we should do an $80 elective u/s to find out the gender. He did not agree.

  35. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

All - thanks for all the good wishes and for talking me off my crazy pants ledge. Heartbeat is 160ish, and aside from the fact that I am getting friggin huge fast, the doc says all is good. And got a prescription for PT for my sciatic/lower back, so hopefully I can find someone good to fix me up right.

  36. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: YAHOO! So happy to hear your good update. How does the 160ish heartbeat stack up to your son's? Was his a consistent rate while you were pregnant with him?

ETA: I made that question sound really weird. I'm just curious about possible gender similarities/differences! Haha.

  37. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@mfa_lady: totally understood the question, but truthfully with Colin, as long as I heard it, I never even asked what the rate was. I wish I knew so I could compare!!

  38. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: I would never have asked, either, if it weren't for Hellobee! Haha. Now I'm always asking + analyzing. Although this baby's has gone from in the high 160s to high 140s, so he or she is playing tricks on me.

  39. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@mfa_lady: I think it's a lot faster the tinier they are and slows down some as they get bigger. At the boys first ultrasound, their heartbeats were like 178 and 180. But eventually they settled into the 160s with occasional forays into the high 150s. They clearly did not follow the old wive's tale about lower heartbeats for boys!

  40. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@mfa_lady: totally. Our kids are out to drive us crazy while we wait to find out. Patience in this situation is not my strong suit
