Favorite part: feeling all the crazy movement! Trying to guess if it's a punch or kick.

Least favorite: not knowing when our spare room will be finished so I can play musical rooms and get all my crafty stuff it it's own room l, then move LO moved to his big boy room and then get the baby's room all situated. But there is still plenty of time for that!

Birth experience: I was induced last time at 40w3d due to lo failing the nst.....so hoping to just go into labor on my own this time around. But I'm all for the epidural.....so wonderful! Although I've heard the contractions from inductions are worse than regular ones, so here's to hoping!!

And on the sad side, I have apparently gained 9 lbs since my last appt also just took my glucose test, so hopefully I pass that atleast.

Anyone's DH's doing anything cute lately for the baby?

DH confessed today that he hopes we have a girl, because he can't imagine what another boy would look like because we already have a perfect one.

BLAH--GD screen numbers were high. (She said normal range is up to 130, mine was 142.)

Going for the 3-hour test on Friday.

ETA: In other, much better, news--a dear friend of mine had a sweet baby boy last night! YAY, BABIES!

@mfa_lady: Yes, I really hope your 3h test comes back with better results!

I'm kind of nervous about my test results too - I should get mine tomorrow.

ETA: My next appointment is on 11/11 for the third trimester screening. Very curious already as to how big baby girl will be.

@Pumuckl: Thank you! Will be crossing my fingers that your outcome is good tomorrow!

@mfa_lady: good luck with your three hour. A lot of moms fail the one and pass the three.

@Pumuckl: good luck with your results! Was your first a big baby?

We had an elective ultrasound this weekend and baby girl was measuring 12 days ahead. And she was breech. My vbac is looking less and less likely.

@mfa_lady: every office is different, but my number was 134 last time and my doctor's cutoff for the test was 135 (this time around, it was 63, which is SUPER low, so things fluctuate wildly too). I think they set the cutoff # low to make sure they don't miss any GD cases, but the screening test gets many " false positives" - hoping you don't have it!!

    @oliviaoblivia: Thank you!

@keepcalmcarrie: Thank you! That's great information. Also good to know that it can change so much.

@Espion: Also I'm super late responding to this because I was freaking out this morning about my GD screen...but yes! My husband is getting more and more excited, and keeps saying he can't wait to hold our baby girl. It's so cute to me! He's also working on her crib, which he's building!

@mfa_lady: You are so borderline that you have a high likelihood of passing! I hate that you have to drink that stuff again, blecch!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I hope you all are doing well in your pregnancies!

@mfa_lady: Good luck on your 3-hr! I'm sure you will do fine!

Favorite part of pregnancy: I love feeling all the movement - baby is getting stronger and stronger!

Least favorite part: Feeling heavy, maybe it's because this is my 2nd pregnancy and so I am bigger earlier. I'm also getting tired faster and bending over and carrying my LO is getting more difficult.

Birth experience: I'm hoping for a non-medicated birth again. So we are preparing by taking a Hypnobirthing refresher course at our local Birth Education Center.

@charmed: Your cards are super cute! My shop is here: http://etsy.me/ZCqEmg. It's totally a when I can get to it thing but I'm into holiday this year!

@Espion: DH is all about buying books and reading to her every night. Definitely no complaints!

@mfa_lady: I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail my test. I felt like garbage yesterday.

My appointment yesterday was good. I just didn't feel well and I'm pretty sure I failed my test lol. Ugh, there was so much to drink. I didn't think it would be that much. It made me nauseous. Other than that everything is measuring on time and her heartbeat was fine.

My next appointment is Nov 3! The crib is on its way and we're getting the paint from Restoration Hardware this weekend. We finally cleared the room so that's progress.

What's your favorite part about pregnancy right now?
I'm feeling really strong lately. My hips don't hurt yet and my bump isn't so big that it's in the way yet. So generally feeling good. And the kicks don't hurt yet, so I'm enjoying them while I can.
    Least favorite part?
    Heartburn and insomnia!
What kind of birth experience are you hoping for?
I'm kind of leaning towards a VBAC, but DD is measuring large and is now breech so I'm wavering.... Again!

  16. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@oliviaoblivia: Awwm bummer about less than ideal conditions for a VBAC. Also, my heartburn has been crazy the last few days.

@mfa_lady: @Radish: @oliviaoblivia: Heartburn means the babies are growing hair! It's an old wives tale that has a strange sort of merit. (An article was published in a midwifery journal.) Anyway, it was true for me last time. My kid has a metric ton of hair.

  21. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Espion: I hope it's true! Although, I tend to get bad heartburn anyway...so I'm not sure if it'll be a good marker for me.

  22. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Espion: DD1 had a lot of hair...and never lost it either. The tech thought she saw hair at our last ultrasound. There was a Hopkins study proving a correlation too.

    @oliviaoblivia: I can't believe she's measuring 12 days ahead! Wowza!

@mfa_lady: Good luck with the 3-hour test! It seems pretty common to fail the first one and have no issue with the three hour, so hopefully that will happen. Still sucks to have to do it though!

I've continued my habit of being MIA. I'm really trying to check in on HB at least a couple times a week going forward. Life has just been so crazy lately that I haven't really felt like I could do anything but keep my head above water. Here's my update:

Favorite thing about pregnancy right now: Baby movement is always a favorite around here!

Least favorite: Heartburn and just feeling big and lumbering and unable to move well. I really thought that wouldn't hit so early this time, but apparently it did!

What kind of birth experience are you hoping for? I'm still really hoping for a VBAC. At my anatomy scan, I had a low lying placenta, and at a follow up scan to get the rest of the shots of baby boy, it was still just as low. I'm supposed to have another scan in a few weeks to check. If it moves up, I'm still good to go on the VBAC, but if not, a repeat C-section is in my future.

@Espion: if that wive's tale is true, my baby is going to come out looking like a wookie I've had terrible heartburn lately!

I started going to a chiropractor this week to try and get rid of this hip/sciatic nerve pain. I felt great for about a day, but now it's back None of my usual fixes are helping either (foam roller/stretching/walking). Hope something changes soon because it's going to be a long third trimester otherwise!

  25. Radish

@Espion: I would love for this girl to have more hair than my last. I am not overly hopeful, though.

  26. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@charmed: I hope you feel better soon! I've had pretty bad tailbone pain the last few weeks, and there seems to be no "cure" for it since I have no choice but to sit at my desk all day. I'm trying to have better posture, which is making it a little better, but it's tough! These aches and pains are serious business. It's amazing to me how much they get to me, considering that I don't even feel like my belly is THAT big. Then I look at those creepy diagrams of how everything moves around in there during pregnancy, and it's not so hard to comprehend...

Anyone else's kicks/movement starting to get hard, or even a little painful? Baby girl is starting to seem like she has something to prove in there--she's totally beating me up today!

  28. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Mrs. Blue: number one was born the size of a two month old. I just have big babies I guess. Good for them, bad for my hoohaa.

@charmed: I hope the chiro can help! Hip pain is so awful.

@mfa_lady: with my last pregnancy I had a very small window where I enjoyed baby kicks. I'm starting to see my window closing with this one two. When people talk about loving baby kicks I get jealous, I find them very uncomfortable.

  29. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@oliviaoblivia: I have been loving them for a solid ten weeks, but they're starting to get crazy! I can tell it still depends on her position--sometimes they're fine and sometimes they literally stop me in my tracks. I'd absolutely rather feel her than not, but goodness. If they're like this now, how will it feel when she's full term? (I guess maybe she won't have as much room to pummel me then?)

  30. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

No painful kicks here, but I am at the end of the pack and a few weeks behind you ladies in your third trimester. I never really had any with DD1, but I also had an anterior placenta. I really think I'm just not very sensitive in my abdomen, though.

  31. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@Mrs. Blue: Boo your low lying placenta didn't resolve yet. I have an appointment to check mine in the first week of November. They told me it should resolve by then but if it doesn't they will check me quite a few times before I give birth. Hopefully it resolves before you give birth!

  32. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@Raindrop: Good luck! I hope yours has moved enough already to not worry about it after that! I wasn't worried at all at 21 weeks when it was low, but it was almost the exact same distance at 25 weeks, which makes me more apprehensive about it actually moving. I read that prior c-sections make it less likely to move, so maybe that's what's going on. Still keeping my fingers crossed, though!

  33. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@Mrs. Blue: Thanks! They found my low lying placenta at 20w and I have my follow up at 28w. I was classified as placenta pervia though, which means mine is touching/covering the cervix. The on call doctor told me mine is barely touching/covering though, I think he was trying to give me more hope. Haha. If by 28w it stops touching/covering then I'm in the clear.

I have my fingers crossed for you!

@mfa_lady: She's ok until she gets up to the ribs. Then it feels like it burns a little? I'm not sure I'm explaining it properly but it's awful.

  35. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@namaste: Ahh, yes, the RIBS! The rib shots are what makes me think she's still head down even though I haven't had an ultrasound in 5 weeks--don't see how anything other than a hard kick could hurt that much!

How's everyone's day going today? I was feeling a little under the weather this morning, but then my manager surprised me at our one-on-one with A RAISE! I just started this job in July, and she and our director decided that I've done such a good job that I deserved a teeny little boost! I feel so grateful to work at a company that values people like that, and that is willing to give me a raise right before maternity leave! Still feeling like I might be getting a cold, but...who cares? Today is a good day.

    @mfa_lady: That's amazing, congrats!

Feeling okay here, definitely feeling way more "pregnant" this time around - like I have had my husband put my socks on for me a couple of times because it is so hard to bend already!

We had to pre-fill out and mail in our birth certificate to the hospital, which is 100% crazy to me and made things feel like they could happen any day (which hopefully they won't since I'm only 27 weeks!)

  40. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Snowdrop: Thank you! And yeah...my movement is DEFINITELY starting to get restricted. Haha. I laugh at myself multiple times a day.

    @oliviaoblivia: Thanks!!

@HappyBaker: Thank you! And that is wild about the birth certificate. When we first met with doulas to figure out who to hire, just TALKING about the birth made me feel like "oh my gosh, I'm having a baby SO SOON." It's wild, isn't it?
