I hate how when a post creates a new page it seems to always get lost until someone else comments....

@Happygal: glad you like them! And I'd love to do an announcement for you

We have to sign up for our childbirth classes this week. It's just a free program offered through the hospital, but I think it will be fun to meet with some other pregnant ladies

And we're headed to Ikea today to pick up a dresser for the nursery. Wish me luck- it's my first time going to Ikea!

@charmed: good luck getting out with ONLY a dresser! lol!! our childbirth class wasn't any new info, but I liked getting the samples and coupons and the hospital tour was really exciting to see where it was all going to happen!

@sorrycharlie: haha, I'm sure we're end up with more than a dresser, but that's the only must buy thing on my list

@charmed: This may be your first trip to Ikea but I doubt it's your last

How's everyone feeling lately?! The home stretch is fast approaching; who's excited to finally be in the third trimester?? Not quite there myself, but it's crazy to think we are almost in the single digits for weeks left. YIKES!

We are finally making progress on LO's big boy room. We finished my new 'craft' room; so I've been slowly moving all my stuff out of the spare room. Next up is moving the spare bed out, and all of LO's stuff in! I'm still debating if we shoud paint it or not, it's currently a pale yellow color; but DH says it's not a very good boy color....while I dont' think LO will care at all what color his room is at this point yet!

@cheesehead: I'm doing fine I guess. Just the normal uncomfortableness of being 7 months pregnant Also I'm feeling a lot more stressed out about getting things ready for baby this time than I did the first time. I sure hope that that isn't a bad sign. Since (fully paid) maternity leave starts at 6 weeks before EDD over here I'm slowly but surely starting to count the days until that last day of work gets here. Also really looking forward to seeing my little girl again on our 30w u/s. Her kicks have gotten quite uncomfortable sometimes though. I'm also pretty sure she is still doing summersaults in there as sometimes the kicks are into my bladder and two days later it will be my stomach that gets in the way of my little karate kid.

ETA: I don't think I ever got around to updating you guys that I passed my glucose test! So cookies here I come

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@cheesehead: I am almost under 100 days! Which means everyone else should be. Ahhh!

Mentally I am not ready... still so many things on my to-do list to accomplish (most not baby related). Actually having what we need for baby we are set since we have all LO1s stuff. Physically, I'm just mostly still exhausted.

@cheesehead: We're working on LO's big girl room too. We are painting now rather than have to move everything out later and bunk her somewhere else. I'm so busy with work projects, LO's new room, picking paint colors for the exterior of our house (which turns out to be harder than you'd think), chasing my toddler around, and life in general that I don't think about this pregnancy as much as I did the first time. Not that I can forget with this big bump lol. Plus I'm waiting on the results of the 3-hour glucose test so that's been on my mind.
I'm excited to meet LO#2 and time is flying - hard to believe it's already mid-October! I realized the other day that I have to pick up a few Team Green outfits for LO#2's first days. We knew we were having a girl the first time so everything from the baby shower was girly.

The movers are here packing up today, loading the van tomorrow, and delivering on Thursday - so I'm pretty stressed and tired! Physically I'm feeling okay, the only problems are back pain and heartburn. I'm stressing about getting the nursery pulled together once we arrive - we still need to order a second crib, get the rest of the furniture, sort through the 0-3 month clothes from J, and get established with my new doctor! Nothing feels settled right now, so that's tough at 28 weeks pregnant!

  11. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@keepcalmcarrie: that's a lot, but you can do it!

  12. MapleMoose

@keepcalmcarrie: Don't stress, you've still got plenty of time to get everything organized before your due date!

@Pumuckl: Wow, your maternity leave starts 6 weeks BEFORE your EDD?! That's fantastic!! And how much fun will it be to get another peek at the baby, I'm excited for you!! And Contrats on passing the glucose test! I did to, but only by a few points...but that's still passing!!

@Radish: Holy Batman, I just checked and it's 100 days for me today!!

@MapleMoose: Ooh...good call on painting before getting everything in the room!! Sounds like you are super busy too!! Doesn't it seem like way more stuff to do than the first time around?! Hope you get good news on your 3-hour test!!

@keepcalmcarrie: Busy, Busy!! Hope the move goes smoothly for you! I haven't even thought about getting clothes out yet! Better add that to the list!

  15. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@cheesehead: I was thinking about that too. I think it seems like more stuff to get done because we have a little person that takes so much of our time... not that we mind! It's certainly going to be different this time, no more napping when the newborn naps but women have been raising multiple children for centuries so I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Exactly 100 days left for me now!
Just ordered the nursery carpet too finally. It feels so close now!

  17. charmed

    persimmon / 1177 posts

Eeek only 81 days left for me!!

Had my glucose test this morning- hopefully that went well. My office is a "no news is good news" type place, so hopefully I don't hear anything from them

Got our dresser (along with some other random stuff ) from Ikea this weekend, and my mother in law just let me know she bought our crib/mattress and it should be here in a week or so. I'm excited to start putting the nursery together!

@Pumuckl: congrats on passing the glucose test!

@keepcalmcarrie: good luck with the move!

  18. namaste

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@cheesehead: Ahhhh! I'm totally not ready.

@Snowdrop: I only have 72 days left lol the crib is supposedly on its way right now. I'm so ready for it to be here already.

@charmed: I'm glad you had a fantastic IKEA trip!

I'm having a ton of pelvic pressure and I'm getting super nauseous if I don't eat small meals every 3-4 hours (which I probably should anyway, oops). This girl is getting plenty of movement in these days which makes sleep impossible but I'm not complaining. Excited/petrified that time is passing so soon. I'll be 30 weeks on Thursday.

    apricot / 316 posts

@namaste: I'll be 30 weeks on Thursday also! Crazy to be in the 30s lol. I also don't feel well if I don't eat every couple of hours.

@charmed: I'm also getting a dresser from Ikea but we put it on our registry so we'll wait till after the baby shower to get it. Ikea is great for affordable stuff that looks nice.

I am definitely feeling my growing belly. I feel like I'm starting to waddle when I walk haha. I also have this constant leg soreness as if I went to the gym, I'm not sure why but it's not fun =(.
Feeling the baby's movement and actually seeing it is super exciting though.

We have tentatively agreed on doing a nanny share with another family that lives in our building. Their daughter is 8 months old now and they really like their nanny. It works out for us because we only need a nanny part time since my husband only works 3 shifts a week so it would be super hard to find our own nanny as they usually want full-time work and a steady schedule. It's not the ideal situation just because our nanny will look after 2 kids instead of just ours, and I don't know what we'll do if the other child is sick.

Anyway else have or planning on getting a babysitter?

  20. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@pmrlady: That nanny share sounds awesome and convenient.

Names are driving me nuts. I really want her name settled, but I know I probably won't be able to commit until we have to fill out her birth certificate. I just can't find one that I love.

  21. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Radish: you know I hear you on the name front.

@pmrlady: we kind of did a nanny share with DD1. A friend of mine with a daughter two months older was planning on staying home. She takes DD while I'm at work and they have the most fun together. A built in playmate. We get the benefits of individualized care with the perks of socialization and a ton more outings and activities. I could go on and on with how much I love our situation.

I'm on my way into work after my 30 week appointment. Baby girl is still measuring ahead so I have a growth scan scheduled in three weeks. I passed my gd scan. I'm actually a little disappointed. I was hoping the gd diet would help make this baby be smaller than her sister.

@charmed: good luck on your GD scan.

@MapleMoose: that's what I keep telling myself. Millions of women have cared for a toddler while nursing a newborn. I can do it too.

I have my Rhogam shot and my glucose test in a little over an hour. They said not to fast. I am STARVING (we happen to be low on food, need to food shop, lol). If I eat a bagel right before, will that *cause* me to fail for any reason? I know you're supposed to eat normally butttt I didn't have the chance, lol.

  23. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@oliviaoblivia: At least everyone is healthy.

@sorrycharlie: Good luck and I hope you get to eat soon!

  24. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@sorrycharlie: good luck. I'd skip the bagel. The carbs will make your sugar crash as much as the gd drink. Can you grab a yogurt or something?

  25. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Radish: that's true. I'm so fortunate to have a healthy one in there.

  26. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@sorrycharlie: Good luck at the appointment. And I'd also skip the bagel. I guess you don't wanna do the 3 hour test

@oliviaoblivia: @MapleMoose: This has also been my mantra. Others have done it - then I can do it too. Although doing it alone most weekdays will be hard in the beginning I guess.

@oliviaoblivia: I have a third trimester screening in mid november and they'll take measurements there too. I really hope she's long and "skinny" like her brother (22" long but "only" 8lbs 7oz). So far their measurements have been pretty much the same. We'll see...

@pmrlady: I hear you on the waddle. This is how I get from A to B most of the time.

  27. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@oliviaoblivia: @Pumuckl: oops. I ate it.. I was starving, lol. Well we will see what happens!

  28. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@Radish: I feel the same way about boys names. We have our girl name set in stone as it was our runner up for DD1. But ugh, boys names are tough!!

@sorrycharlie: Good luck with the glucose test!

@pmrlady: @oliviaoblivia: Those nanny shares sound great. I looked into it for LO1 (before I ended up converting to WAH) but there weren't many options in my area.

Everyone sounds so busy! I hope all the big moves and prep is going well for all.

My 3-hour test was normal, thank goodness. I may or may not have had a donut at work this morning to celebrate.

  31. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

    @mfa_lady: hooray!

@MapleMoose: I have like 5 boy's names I would be happy to name a kid, I'm so much picker when it comes to girls names.

  33. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@mfa_lady: So happy the test came back normal!

@Radish: Oh trust me, I know exactly what you mean. I was super picky when it came to DD's name... even making sure I liked the nickname and trying out different spelling variations. It was easier to pick a middle name because I used my mom's lol

  34. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: Did I miss news from you? How did yours turn out?

  35. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@mfa_lady: No news yet, thanks for asking though! They made an appointment for tomorrow so I expect to hear the results then. Please eat a donut for me

  36. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: Oh, girl. Been there, done that. Someone brought donuts to work this morning, and I snatched one up RIGHT after I got word from my midwife.

  37. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@mfa_lady: Haha I bet it was the best tasting donut you've ever had too. Just because you can.

  38. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@MapleMoose: It even had sprinkles. (Why is it that sprinkles always sound/look so good, even though they're kind of the weirdest thing ever?)

  39. MapleMoose

    grapefruit / 4213 posts

@mfa_lady: Totally cracking up here. They just make food look so fun!

  40. namaste

@sorrycharlie: Hope your test went well!

    @mfa_lady: YAY! Congrats!

Our crib arrived yesterday and I'm so happy about that. I'm really low on energy but still pushing to get things done. My cat has been following me everywhere today which is completely out of her character. She sticks with DH all day and couldn't care less about me when he's not here. I'm assuming she's now picking up on all of the changes or just trying to bribe me with cuteness from kicking her out of "her room."
