@mfa_lady: Nice! My old work would never do something like that.
Things are going okay. The nesting instinct has been helpful in settling into the house - I just picked up and sorted through half the rooms, but I'm also way too exhausted lately.

@Radish: Mine wouldn't, either! I moved from nonprofit to my current job, and merit raises in our local nonprofit sector (at least at my place of work) were definitely not a thing. I feel like I got overly excited about it, but it was a huge deal to me!
I hope you stop being so tired soon! We traveled to New Orleans this past weekend for a wedding, and it's amazing how a one-hour time difference + staying up super late 3 nights in a row has totally messed up my sleep schedule. I'm a wreck!

@mfa_lady: Congratulations! That's always welcome news!
I can't keep up with you ladies! At the doctor now, just drank the glucose drink. Had orange this time, wasn't as bad as the lemon-lime I had for the first pregnancy.

@mfa_lady: It's so great to hear a story of a company that appreciates their employees! I'm so happy for you. It really warms my heart. Especially that they are giving you this boost before you leave.

@Raindrop: Right? I feel really fortunate to have found this job. I'm so happy they're still loving on the pregnant ladies!

@mfa_lady: Thanks but unfortunately I ended up failing the 1 hour. I'll go for the 3 hour test this weekend. I'm actually surprised and wondering if this was just a weird fluke because I have hypoglycemia and have to worry about my blood sugar being too low, never too high!

@HappyBaker: That seems so early but I suppose you never know when you'll go into labor....
@Radish: How exciting to move to a new place. Just don't overdue it with lifting and whatnot. I moved into my house when I was in the 3rd trimester of my first pregnancy. I remember getting a little frustrated because I tired easily. But we are hard at work growing a human, it's no wonder lol

@MapleMoose: Not sure if you saw my posts a page or two back, but you're not alone! I failed the 1-hour, too. I go for the 3-hour tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you! Hope all is normal for your second round.

@mfa_lady: Keep me updated with your results tomorrow. Sending healthy thoughts! Did they tell you to start fasting at 11pm tonight?
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@MapleMoose: They sure did. Well, midnight for me, but close enough. Ugh! I'm going to starve to death.
I'm guessing I won't get my results back until next week...I took my 1-hour test last Thursday afternoon and they didn't call me back until Tuesday to tell me I failed!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@mfa_lady: Me too, I always wake up ravenous. Can't believe they took so long to get your results back to you. They gave me my number right away after the finger stick today and told me about the 3 hour test. They said the lab won't tell me if I pass/fail but if they send me home right away it means fail.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@MapleMoose: I had lots of blood taken (for other testing) the day I had my 1-hour, so it wasn't just a finger stick, it was like 6 vials! That might have had something to do with it. Maybe I'll find out right away tomorrow!
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@mfa_lady: Been thinking of you today. Did you complete the test yet? Did you get nauseous drinking the glucose drink on an empty stomach? I heard they either give you a larger amount of liquid or a more concentrated sugar solution.
persimmon / 1177 posts
@mfa_lady: that's great on the job, congrats! And I hope your 3 hour test results are good!
@MapleMoose: good luck with your 3 hour test!
Finally making progress on moving my home office so we can turn that room into the nursery! Just in time since my first shower is next weekend and I'm going to need somewhere to put the baby stuff

@charmed: Thanks! I go tomorrow morning for the test. Yay for your baby shower! Enjoy it!

@charmed: Thank you!!
@MapleMoose: Just got home. I had more liquid AND a higher concentration--double, in fact, what I got last time. I felt really horrible for the first hour...pretty nauseous and icky, but was okay after that. I tried to eat a nice big lunch but not having anything for 14 hours made my stomach all shrinky. Haha. So, I'm going to have to eat little bits throughout the day to be able to eat dinner tonight! I should have results by EOD or by Monday sometime. Good luck tomorrow!

Hi ladies! I've been so busy lately that I've neglected you! I had my 28 week appointment on Wednesday and did my glucose test. I passed! Yay! I also received my Rhogam shot. Anyone else have to get it? They put it in my ass and OMG did it hurt!!
My back has been hurting SO bad lately. I work on my feet so that doesn't help. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to work. I'm going to post a bump pick right now. I'm huge!

@MrsHansen82: Oh man totally forgot about the RH shot - I remember for DD1 when they told me to pull my pants down I was like, "Wait are you serious?". I felt like a little kid getting shots!
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@MrsHansen82: Is that a normal thing?!... I honestly don't remember getting one for my last pregnancy!! But it could be my pregnancy brain. I'm not 28 weeks yet so that hasn't come up yet. Haha.
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@MrsHansen82: I didn't have to get that, I think it's given if you're Rh-negative, right? Sounds painful!
nectarine / 2079 posts
I luckily do not have to get that shot. I still need to get my flu shot, though.
I think baby might have finally turned. There was a lot of movement last night and I finally felt the familiar jabs in my upper belly today. If so, I hope she stays that way.

@MrsHansen82: oh yeah. i got it last pregnancy and gasped out loud..and I have a freakin high pain tolerance!! I get it again wednesday. sob.
I've been totally MIA over here. Just exhaustion, combined with my med wearing off (upping my dose this week thankfully), my toddler wearing me out, and excruciating back and hip pain. by bedtime I'm just toast.
still going strong cloth diapering..I love it, actually, lol! any other mamas cloth diaper current kiddos or plan to CD their january baby?

@Raindrop: It's only for pregnant woman who have a negative blood type. Like I have AB- so they give me a shot to prevent my body from building an immune response to my baby's blood if she has a positive blood type. If our blood crossed and I didn't get the shot, my antibodies would attack her red blood cells and and would become severely anemic and have all kinds of problems.

Oh here is the baby shower invitation I just bought! I love it! The shower is going to be winter themed so I think it's perfect!
This is just a sample, not her real name.

@MrsHansen82: Ah sorry such a fart brain today. I think I might have known this but I was like OMG I need a shot in the butt! I'm scared of shots but having GD has gotten somewhat better with them... it still sounded super scary though. Haha.
Also cute invites!!

@sorrycharlie: Props to you for CDing. I never got into it and I doubt I will with #2 either.
@MrsHansen82: Very cute!

@mfa_lady: Congrats! DH just got a huge job offer with a sign-on bonus so I know how you feel! It was totally unexpected but he's going to take it.
@MrsHansen82: I had my test on Monday and I still haven't heard back from my doctor. Ugh. I'm sort of not feeling it for my OB office right now. I think because they're so busy, I sort of get the brush off. It's making me sort of uncomfortable.
Your invites are super cute!
Super exhausted lately. DH's birthday was Thursday so we've been spending the past few days celebrating and now we can celebrate his new job so that's all kinds of fun!

@namaste: Sounds like an eventful week! At my old doctors office they went by no news is good news, so I would assume you passed.

@namaste: That's so annoying! But I'm sure if there was something bad they would tell you asap.

@sorrycharlie: yes we are planning on using cloth. Mostly fitteds with wool covers for breathability but I want to get a couple of PUL for ling car journeys ect.

@charmed: I see more than one birth announcement that I really like in your shop! It's hard to find ones that aren't super precious or pink. I may be contacting you come February!
I've been trying to read through and catch up. It seems like our group is doing well!
I feel good and the baby is growing. We have nothing set up, no showers, no plan.....I could panic, but I guess I'll just get my act together and start preparing! I feel like I should be doing things for labor prep, but from what I've seen, all that stuff can go right out the window, perfect planning or not.

@sorrycharlie: I have a stash of CDs that I didn't use with DD because we had to pay $4 a load for laundry. I should bring them out now that we have our own washer dryer.
@namaste: congrats to your DH!! My OB office is also the no news is good news type. I had my GD test 2.5 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. I figure I'm in the clear.
@MrsHansen82: cute!!
@Raindrop: I'm RH negative and don't get the Rhogam shot because DH is negative too....I guess my doctor is confident in my commitment to my marriage.

@Happygal: Eh, babies don't really need that much. It is easy to go overboard. I went to a few classes my hospital offered last time and they were helpful for me to learn how they handled things there. Although, I am all for meds so there was less work on my part to prep for. The biggest take-away I got was from the anesthesiology class and that was ask for the epi early if you want it, because it can take a while for them to get to you and once you have it you can't walk around

@sorrycharlie: We cloth diaper our DD and have since she was about 8 weeks old. We use BumGenius 4.0 pocket diapers and have loved it overall. I'm hoping she will be potty trained by the time this baby comes, because I'm not planning to buy more / don't really want to deal with 2 in cloth, but we'll see!

@Radish: @MrsHansen82: @oliviaoblivia: Thank you ladies! Ugh that drives me bananas but I guess no news is good news!
