@bhbee: Yep, I've had a couple people ask if I was having twins too. So ridiculous.

Celebrating hitting the 3rd trimester with some serious insomnia. It's going to be a rough day.
Anyone doing any fun Halloween costumes with your bump? I decided I would embrace it this year since it could be my last opportunity... so I'm doing a death star belly.
persimmon / 1177 posts
@mfa_lady: my girl is up high too! But thankfully I have a wide ribcage so it's not too uncomfortable.
I'm going to ask at my next appointment, but if I had to guess I would say she's transverse. I feel most the kicks/punches on my sides (sometimes at the same time!) So hopefully I'm wrong, or she turns soon.
@Radish: sorry about the insomnia- that's rough!
I'm not dressing up, but you'll have to post pics of your costume

@Radish: I would love to see your costume! I never got around to figuring out my costume this year.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Radish: Yes, share pictures! I didn't even think about this, but I've seen pregnant women today with jack 'o lantern t-shirts and the baby skeleton.
@mfa_lady: I don't think my girl is that high--sometimes I try to encourage her to move on up! She'll punch/kick my bladder or other parts that feel so uncomfortable. "let's be friends," I'll tell her, and try to move her around.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@charmed: I feel lots of stuff on my sides, too--but I think this little girl is still switching positions a lot. Sometimes one side/part of my belly will be completely hard, while other parts are still squishy. Then she'll move and it all switches up. I guess she's trying to get her swimming in while there's still room....

It is November, ladies! Let's catch up a bit.
How are you feeling?
What is left on your to-do list for baby?
Stressed about anything?
How many days until your due date?
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date?
nectarine / 2079 posts
How are you feeling? Mostly just exhausted by the end of the day - I've been going to sleep between 8-9pm most nights. Heartburn has been pretty bad the last few days.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? I just need to hem the curtains and finish one art piece in the nursery, settle on a name and buy some diapers.
Stressed about anything? Only coming up with a name. Why is it so hard?! I feel like my husband is so little help and it is making me extra frustrated.
How many days until your due date? 88
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I expect to go past my due date, no reason why.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@Radish: Love this!
How are you feeling? I've been giving a weird answer for this lately, haha. I feel better than I've felt throughout the whole pregnancy, but at the same time I'm less comfortable. I have more energy and feel more like myself, but I also have a huge belly, which means backaches and shortness of breath and cramps. You win some, you lose some!
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Um, everything? Ha. I really need to get the nursery in shape--so far I've pretty much only painted the walls. My husband is building a crib for her, so that's awesome, and other than that I need to find a chair I like. I'm not too worried about the other, pretty stuff--that'll come once I get the big stuff in there. My mom is a painter so we have lots of pretty art coming our way.
Stressed about anything? Labor. We have our first prenatal meeting with our doula this week, as well as our hospital tour. Makes it really REAL, and I'm starting to get scared! Also, the holidays. But that's another story....
How many days until your due date? Umm....60. OMG. Due date is exactly two months from today!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I just told a friend of mine this morning that I have no intuition about this yet! I do hope she doesn't come super early--because I think we're hosting Christmas for my in-laws at our house. (Yes, nine days before my due date. Call me crazy--I'll agree with you.)
pineapple / 12793 posts
How are you feeling? I'm actually feeling pretty great lately. Heartburn still sucks, but as long as I have tums it's manageable.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? well.... The nursery has freshly primed walls.... But no paint. The carpet I picked is on back order until December, but I'm not going to wait for it all I have to pick something else. She will be using DD's hand me downs so I need to wash those. And then move them into the dresser that will go in her nursery once the flooring is installed.
Stressed about anything? not really. Even though the nursery is far from done, she'll be in our room for the first few months so it doesn't really matter. Lot kitchen reno is 98% done so that was my biggest stress that I don't have anymore.
How many days until your due date? 58. Oy. 55 if I decide for the RCS.
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? DD was a due date baby and so was I. My mom's second birth was two weeks early. That sounds kind of nice right now.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@mfa_lady: I felt great 9 days before my due date last time, it was just hard standing on my feet for too long.
@oliviaoblivia: hooray fit the kitchen being done!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: I can't believe you're hosting Christmas! You're awesome!
How are you feeling? Today, I'm good. I just get exhausted every now and again but I'm pushing through! Some nausea but no swollen feet or anything that's too terrible.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Hahaha oh our nursery. All of the baby shower items are sitting in our living room right now.
Stressed about anything? Not really but after my MIL's behavior yesterday at the baby shower, I'm totally over her and her antics. She was in rare form and just made an ass of herself which totally turns DH & I off to her being involved.
How many days until your due date? 59!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I think she'll come early.

@namaste: YOUR SHOWER! I had totally forgotten it was this weekend. My brain is not working at full capacity these days. Minus MIL drama (so sorry, ugh!) how was it?!
persimmon / 1313 posts
@mfa_lady: It was amazing! I'm going to share it on my blog this week so I'll just link it here when I do. It was really only friends and my MIL & SIL. I just could not with my MIL who had already accosted my bff, the host, about something 15 minutes in. She'd written the wrong date in the guest book and it was just a huge mistake. *eyeroll*
Everything was beautiful and I was so happy with the activities (headband making, onesie painting, and my giant guess the birth date board). I have so many different groups of friends so keeping them occupied was the only thing I was worried about but it worked out well!
pomegranate / 3921 posts
@namaste: Ooooh, I love the activities you chose. I am not a big shower game girl, and these are so nice. Low-key, fun, not a put-the-mama-on-display type feel. I'm so glad it went well!
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@Radish: I loved your deathstar belly!! I wish I could have thought of something for "Totally Mild Salsa" to go with my son's costume, but my creativity was tapped out and it was 27 degrees outside.
How are you feeling? Good, a little tired. I haven't napped nearly as much as I did with my first pregnancy, because I've been way busier this time around.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? We have no to do list. Eventually I'm going to have to pull out all of E's clothes, which thankfully, I had already sorted into 0-3 months, 3-6 months, etc.
Stressed about anything? I have a big test coming up in February. Huge test. Career pivotal. And I'm more stressed about that than having a second baby. I hate to say it, but this pregnancy is taking a back burner to studying right now.
How many days until your due date? I have no idea, heh. (see above) At my next appointment, I'll pin the OB down to a RCS date.
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? Scheduled alien style. I'll be shocked if I go into labor at all.
pea / 17 posts
@namaste: Sorry about the MIL but your shower sounds fun! I really like your birth date guessing board, might have to ask my sister if we can do that at my shower.
I can't believe how fast time is passing! We are almost in the home stretch, ladies!
How are you feeling? Generally good! I'm finally over a cold that was hanging on for a week and a half and have given in to napping in the afternoons when I feel like it.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? We need to settle on a boy name. Girl name is decided! Also the nursery... We just moved into this house in June and I've been focused on the main floor. Will probably start on it this weekend. I already have a plan, the paint, all furniture except the crib, and bedding. It's just a matter of putting it all together.
Stressed about anything? Well right now I'm in the midwife's office, in the middle of the three hour glucose test. I was really surprised that I failed the first one so miserably last week. Kind of resigned to failing this one as well, but either way it'll be all right.
How many days until your due date? 84
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I am thinking probably a little early.
persimmon / 1177 posts
How are you feeling? Overall, I feel really good. Dealing with heartburn and minor back pain, but nothing I haven't had pre-pregnancy.
I am feeling very large lately - my belly keeps getting in the way of everything
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Too much! finish the nursery, pick a name, make sure we have all the gear we need.
Stressed about anything? Most recently I'm stressed about all the "stuff" we need. I have another shower after Thanksgiving, but we need a lot of big items that I don't expect to be gifted (stroller, convertible car seat, pack n play, etc). Planning on stalking Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales for good deals.
How many days until your due date? 68 days!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I'm expecting that she'll be late, but since I have a lot to do in the weeks before my due date I'm worried she'll show up before I'm ready!
nectarine / 2242 posts
How are you feeling? Sore! My body hurts from sitting on the ground with DD so much, and sleeping is not very comfortable. But I can't complain as I've had an easy pregnancy so far.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Finish clearing the crap out of the nursery (it was previously our junk room), hang up art, order/buy clothes, pump parts and bottles.
Stressed about anything? Just getting everything ready / organized. I realize he won't be sleeping in his room for a few weeks but I reallllly just want to be done with it! Also stressed about how things are going to work with my family being 1.5 hours away and watching DD when I go into labor.
How many days until your due date? 68 days!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? No idea, DD was 2 days early but this baby seems like its going to be bigger so maybe he'll come early.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@Espion: I didn't do anything last time, so I felt I had to dress it up this time since it is probably my last chance. Your son's costume was adorable, btw!
@Pepperland: Hope you end up passing the 3 hr.
@HappyBaker: I'm worried about who will watch DD when I go into labor as well. I think that is why I would like her to come late because then maybe my mom will already be here.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@charmed: I'm not sure if you have Kohls card, but I've found some of the best gear deals you can get on baby items are when they have their 30% off for card members and then kohls cash back.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
@HappyBaker: I never got to mention on the other thread that your dinosaur costume was amazing!!! I loved the tail!
@Radish: Heh, thank you. I'm definitely planning a little better next year. The fabric store the day before Halloween is a madhouse.
@Radish: @HappyBaker: OMG. The who is going to watch E problem. Thank goodness E finally got into daycare on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. (It only took 17 months...) We're hoping he'll get in full time, but we may schedule this c-section on a Friday just so he can be in daycare that day and DH will be able to pick him up and take care of him at night.
My mother is too unwell to be really helpful (she cannot lift him out of his crib) and she'd be devastated if I asked my MIL. Plus, they'd have to travel 4,000+ miles to get here. But if we have an emergency, then we have NO PLAN. I hope this kid stays content until we evict him/her.

How are you feeling? Great really, a few jiggles but they come and go.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? It feels like everything! We are getting the carpet in the nursery on Wednesday so things should move pretty fast in there after that. I go between feeling that there isn't really much to be done to panicking that we will never be ready!
Stressed about anything? Just about getting enough masters work done before mat leave starts.
How many days until your due date? 87 days!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I swing from thinking that my mum always went early to thinking that because I feel so good my body just won't bother evicting (I know neither are rational). I am a bit worried about needing to be induced though so I'm hoping I don't go too far over!
nectarine / 2242 posts
@Espion: Aw thanks!
@Radish: @Epsion: Glad I'm not the only one totally freaking out about childcare for the older sibling! Everyone thinks I'm crazy worrying about it this early, but the logistics make my brain hurt.

@HappyBaker: oh put me on the freak out list too. My brother and SIL live 45 min away but both work, can I really ask them to leave early if needed? Hoping my neighbor can help. And then we have to fly my mom across the country ASAP for a longer term solution. Depending on how/when things go could be easy or a mess. DH wants to draw out a chart of possibilities

How are you feeling?
Pretty okayish. Baby girl is way up high currently so sitting is getting rather uncomfortable at times. Also heartburn is slowly setting in and the pelvic pain is always there and I’m still hearing muffled. But other than those small things I’m fine and glad it’s all working out.
What is left on your to-do list for baby?
Umm, everything? All we have are some cloths and a new stroller. Still need to figure out the crib situation and I’ll have to sort through all of big brother’s cloths and wash them.
Stressed about anything?
No not really, just hoping little B will get back to being the super champ sleeper he always was. For the last three months sleep has been ridiculous.
How many days until your due date?
No idea! Off to google it.
ETA: 77 days!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date?
I’m expecting to go past my due date. Since my first was a whopping 9 days late. They’d have induced the next day! I’d be ever so thankful if it wasn’t quite that long though!

How are you feeling? Overall pretty good, starting to get a little uncomfortable by the end of the day, but that's expected!
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Nearly everything!! We finally have A moved to his big boy room, just need to move the spare bed out of the nursery, and start putting things together. Luckily I already have all the clothes I need, since A was born in the same season...just gotta dig out the tub and wash everything!
Stressed about anything? Not really, still need to figure out the logisitics of who's watching A while we are in the hospital, but Grandma is always ready to drive down at a moments notice....so hopefully she's still feeling well, and it's not a blizzard out!
How many days until your due date? 86!!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I'm guessing late again, since A was late. However I'd just be happy to not be induced again....with A, we failed our NST, and then went to the hospital to be induced, but his heartrate was still all over the place, so they had to keep me hooked up to everything, plus put a little electrode on his head while he was still in there! So, I'd be good w/o that fun this time.

How are you feeling? Great! Staying active chasing LO1 around and getting excited for the holidays.
What is left on your to-do list for baby? Painting LO1's new room this weekend, then purchasing a new wardrobe for her room next weekend. Have to buy a few Team Green outfits to hold us over and pick up some newborn diapers. Also want to stock up on a package or two of Milkmakers cookies.
Stressed about anything? Not stressed per se but a little worried about leaving LO1 while giving birth to LO2. I've never been away from her for that long. I keep telling myself that she always has fun at my parents house when they watch her once a week but still!
How many days until your due date? 72!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date? I predict another late scheduled induction. I was induced 10 days late with LO1.

I'm the slacker of the group--random things piling up in the nursery, but nothing else really together. Called to sign up for a birthing class and it was all full until mid-January! I almost cried--such a pregnant woman moment. But I found a crash course at a cool prenatal yoga studio in town that will hopefully be fun.
How are you feeling?
Pretty good! My pubic bone area can feel sore some days, so I'm thinking of getting some kind of support band. And insomnia has struck. I've been a light sleeper all my life, so it's familiar territory. Still, I wouldn't mind catching some more ZZZZs.
What is left on your to-do list for baby?
Set up nursery, finalize registry, take classes.....probably more things than I even know about! I'd like to start stocking our freezer with some meals.
Stressed about anything?
Oh, not really. Just that time is passing quickly and I'm worried I'll panic when the countdown is really on.
How many days until your due date?
Don't know!
Do you predict you will give birth early, on, or past due date?
Hmm. I don't really have a feeling on this one. Hopefully a few days, but no more, than the due date. That sounds nice.

Bummer. I failed my 1 hour glucose screening and took the three hour challenge last Friday. Just got a call that I do have gestational diabetes. Restricted diet during the holidays is going to be such a downer!
I'm trying to look at this positively though and hope it can be managed through diet and exercise. They said I'll be seen every two weeks now, will have stress tests for the baby, and will be up to once a week at 35 weeks.

@Happygal: sorry about the GD! Lots of mom's here have had it and say it's not too bad. Sucks to have it over Thanksgiving and Christmas though!

@oliviaoblivia: Thanks. Uou're right, and this is a rare instance where the internet has helped me to feel better about things! I've seen many people talk about how it's manageable, so that's comforting.
How are you outside of baby things? Are you feeling settled in your new home?
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Happygal: yeah, thanks. Things are finally getting more comfortable with the house. It's been a long road, after three months we're finally able to "live" in the house. There is still a lot to do, but the most important things are done and everything else is just cosmetic.
How are things with you?
nectarine / 2079 posts
@Happygal: Aw, bummer about the GD. That is crazy that the class is already full, you would think they would add more sessions if there were a demand - it is kind of a time sensitive thing.
@MapleMoose: @Pumuckl: Ooo 9/10 days late. Hope these babies don't make y'all wait that long!

@Happygal: Aww sorry about failing your GD test! It's not that bad. You can do it!

@Radish: thanks! I'll make sure to keep an eye on Kohl's sales.
@Happygal: sorry about the GD! Not fun to deal with I'm sure, but there are lots of ladies here with great tips for managing
Doctor appointment this morning - love hearing the baby's heartbeat!
I saw the nurse practitioner today for the first time and she was in a hurry- she practically ran out the door after hearing the heartbeat. Sort of annoyed since I'd heard great things about her from friends that go to the same office and was hoping to chat a little, but she didn't give me a chance.
Oh well, I'm happy with the doctors there (and that's who will deliver the baby anyway).
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@Happygal: Oh no! What a bummer!
@charmed: Grr I hate when practitioners act like they are too busy for you. A typical visit isn't even that long, just act like you care! Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine lol
grapefruit / 4213 posts
Apologies for multiple posts, I'm on my phone...
@Radish: I was sooo excited and impatient to meet LO1 and was having so much pain from BH and whatnot. Torture! This time I have LO1 to distract me. Although I'm a little worried about not knowing if I go into labor naturally until it's almost too late because I didn't have the experience the first time.
nectarine / 2079 posts
@MapleMoose: I was actually induced last time as well (but prior to due date and was potentially in early labor) and I worry about knowing labor signs and when to get to the hospital - I'm extra worried because it is a 40 min drive.
